Rob and Kristen- Purple Love

So... Today is

Wear Purple on October 20 for Spirit Day

Show your support for the teens who took their lives because of anti-LGBT bullying.

So I did what I could to color the blog with purple today.
The bullying has got to stop.
People should be allowed to love and live their lives
without fear of hatred and being attacked.

So I scoured my extensive Robert/Kristen library for purple.
I'll be honest...
There wasn't a lot to work with...
But a few choice pictures came up

Not sure if this is actually purple...
But damn if it isn't a beautiful picture of Kristen.
Gorgeous.

I have to admit... there aren't any bad pictures of Robert
on the REMEMBER ME set.
I remember that summer so well...
Every day there were pictures of him
And everyday they seemed to get better and better.
*sigh*
He's so damn pretty.

Anyway.
I'm guessing Kristen is back in Robert's arms Baton Rouge...
I'm sure she is happy that the press junket for WTTR is over.
That has to be exhausting.
At least now she has months in front of her being in
the Twilight cocoon.
Because they have pretty tightly secured sets...
And they don't get hassled by the Paps as much when working on these movies.
Of course...
There is no telling what happens outside of the sets...
Dinners...
Concerts...
Time off spent together.
You get the drift... right?

No, they aren't wearing purple...
But Bella's famous comforter most definitely fits the bill.
And besides...
I love how they are looking at each other.
Robert looks beautiful in this picture.
Can you imagine looking at that face up close?
Can you imagine kissing that face?
Um...
Then imagine what Kristen deals with on a daily basis.
And if I were some insecure lunatic...,
I might even hate her for it!
But alas,
I'm not.
I'm perfectly happy seeing Robert and Kristen together...
Being all smitten and cute for each other.
Seeing them happy...
 makes ME happy.

Win/Fucking/Win

Even Maxine is getting into it.
And really...
What more do you want??

#SpiritDay

Final thoughts.
1. Robert and Kristen
Working on BD
K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Oh wait...
They haven't started filming yet.
;)

2. The more obvious it is
how close Robert and Kristen are...
The more bitter foaming.
I can't fathom hating someone so much
that you spend hours dissecting and criticizing
every word... every picture.
So sad.

3. Brother.
Bwahahahahahahaha!

This post is brought to you by the color purple.
Live and let live.

Bye for now

  1. Loved the recent pics of Kristen from Scream, the press for the movie, etc. There wasn't a one where she didn't look fabulous! Love that they'll have time together in Louisiana, can't wait to see more pics coming from that too!

Seems like the anti's are finally running out of steam, I mean foam?? Maybe I'm blissfully unaware, no more checking out Twitter and AT - too many whack-o's!!

I love it right here, Rose!!

  2. Rose, love your purple prose! Great topic, support for the anti-bullying faction. Bullying is despicable in any form it takes.

As to the mental image of Kristen in Rob's arms -- too yummy! Hope they are both safe and happy.

  3. Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a great day.

Rose thanks for posting about this important issue. Although it isn't something which affects me directly, one of my best friends is gay and does voluntary work for LGF UK. So I am aware of the prejudice some of these kids face and its so wrong.

Rose you rock my friend :-)

Hi Smitty, sorry to hear you had a rubbish day and I hope today is turning out to be better for you! **sending you love & hugs** I really wish we got to chat more, bloody timezones....

....and Syd *sigh* I miss you.

Ok I'm off out for dinner, hope you catch you all soon.

    Much love,

    Liza ღ

  4. I didn't know about this wearing purple today. :( I wish I'd have known this. I'm the type of person who wants to get involved with anti-bullying week, being bullied myself.

  5. Do you think Kristen's in Louisiana now? :)

  6. Rose,

Liza--time zones are killing me!! We need a gno soon for real.

    Hi to the rest--

Find your happy and hold on tight --- and don't ever stop anyone else from finding and holding what makes them happy either.

  10. Rose~

Wonderful post! I wrote this on yesterday's post:

@30~ Thanks soo much for reminding everyone to wear purple today for Spirit Day! My brother-in-law is gay and he proudly came out to everyone after all the sad news about the poor bullied kids. I'm soo proud of him! He's one of the lucky that have family and friends who love and support him.

My son, who is 6, loves his uncle soo much and I'm proud to teach him to love and accept everyone. Each of us is special and unique.

In my son's school, they are also teaching them bullying prevention. The younger they start, the more they'll learn!! <3

    Have a great day everyone!!

  11. Rose,

This is a wonderful post, but sad that it is even needed. I posted this on yesterday's post:

I too have a family member who is gay, but sadly, has felt the need to keep it quiet. I believe that being gay or straight is something you are born with, much like, whether you are tall or short, blue eyed or brown-eyed. I don't believe it is a choice.

It is for that reason that I ruffled a few feathers a few days ago when I stated I did not like the term Krisbian and the flippant way of saying "I'd turn for her". That simple statement implies it is a choice and belittles anyone who has no choice.

Bullying someone for their lifestyle whether it be for sexuality, career choice, or the way they dress is wrong and is learned young. It is an insidious thing that worsens the more time it is allowed to occur. That is why it is so important to start young in teaching values.

If my wearing purple today helps in even a small way then I'm proud and happy to do it.

  15. Forget to say thanks most importantly to 30. :)
Thank you so very much for bringing the Topic/Day to our attention.

  17. Great post Rose

Where I work there are quite a few people who are my dear friends that are gay and lesbian. We have all known and worked with each other for years. They are all wonderful people.

Love and understanding for each other should be taught to everyone regardless of age.

  18. Rose!!!!

    Your awesome assistance is required!!!

Today is definitely not a day to feed the trolls.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mickey, looks like you're really delusional... I mean, do you judge every book by its cover? How can you look at Kristen and think she's a lesbian? I didn't know that lesbians looked one way or the next? Perhaps looking at her clothing *IS* the BEST indication, because she may just want to look like a "boy" or MAYBE it's just because she wants to be comfortable. Flannel is comfortable and plain. She is not the typical Hollywood woman all gussied up looking for attention. She is taken and doesn't want to draw attention to herself, as is Rob. Oh, and Mickey, I'm sure you're perfect and have no insecurities with your own body... so, let's not judge Kristen. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you don't have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all?!?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi Leigh!
I was just about to call for assistance as well.

    Thank you cybergod(s). :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Please don't feed the trolls. And why do they all start with M?

    ReplyDelete
  22. ROSE and ROSELANDERS...I just went to lunch at this wonderful restaurant called Simply Southern Bistro, they cook good food sort of along the paula deen venue....just had the best collards ive ever tasted except for paula deens at the Lady and Sons in Savannah. Anyway, I ran into a friend who wants me to do anesthesia for her 35 yr old daughter, April, who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer..Please keep her in your prayers..
I feel like at Roseland we can talk about the things on our mind and the "shout out" for public awareness about bullying is so appropriate, especially on this site where we battle it every day for this special couple who have done nothing wrong ever to deserve the ridicule they receive every single day. ROSE...i love how u tie in things so well..you have a very special gift...
Anyway...i was so tired last night when i posted i almost fell asleep while doing it but i did see where SUE BEE had a migraine and just wanted to make sure she knows that BOTOX is a great treatment for that and was just approved last week by the FDA for migraines.
DK...i loved the lyrics fr last night you rock!
Oh, did u see where rob bought a bicycle in baton rouge last weekend? the people in the shop didnt let on that they knew who he was. i thought that was very sweet.
they gave him a gift by doing that.
    HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Rose!!!!

We have a new "M" to add to the list.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You are briliant. I love your posts very much.

    His face... *sigh*
I miss seeing his pretty face...
It's been a while, hasn't it? God, I miss him so much!

  25. Jenny I know it's hard but...ignore the mentaly unstable...he/she just wants atention.

    Don't feed the trolls

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you, Rose. You take such good care of Roseland :)

That's why you are the Queen!

    ♥ Leigh ♥

(and if by chance it's Leo--you are the King ;)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Rose

I was wondering the same thing...Why do the names always start by a 'M'?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Maybe because they are mental...

It HAS to be the same person. Have you ever gotten confirmation on that Rose?

    ReplyDelete
  29. OMG...see there's one already! UNBELIEVABLE....MICKEY....hey send us ur pics immediatley so we can see what u look like! u are SICK>

    ReplyDelete
  30. Rose, that's really nice of you to bring attention to such a sensitive topic. More mean people need to be aware that it's not ok, online or in RL. Your blog is a perfect place to put it out there, considering all the stupid people out there that have nothing better going on in their lives than to disect and hate on people they don't even know and will never know. What a waste of precious time. Anyway climbing down from soapbox now, great post, thanks Rose, your awesome. Spread the love, ignore the hate yeaahhh!

    ReplyDelete
  31. No doubt it's the same person. But I don't know specifics.
I guess some people just don't handle rejection very well...
    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. As there are beautiful names that start with M, there is also the word MANIACAL which perfectly describes these fuckwits!

Today is Spirit Day and with that in mind I'm going to ignore such fuckwits.
    ---------------
Here's what James Woods had to say about Kristen at the WTTR screening in NYC on Monday:

On the "Rileys" red carpet Monday, James Woods told us that "An American Girl," in which Stewart is set to star, is gearing up to shoot in 2011. "She's been committed to it for two years now, and we're just about ready to go now in the spring," he told MTV News.

Woods is directing the film, based on a script by Tom Metcalfe ("The Haunting in Connecticut"). The film follows a high school grad who's unknowingly recorded having sex and who joins the Marines to escape the humiliation.

Though Stewart had not yet become a breakout star in Hollywood at the time, Woods said he eyed her for the role based on advice from Sean Penn and Dennis Quaid, both of whom had worked with her on previous films. Woods' casting director tried to talk him into casting another actress, but he was adamant. "She's the one I want. She's it," he recalled telling the casting director.

"Her insight into the script was so perceptive and prescient as it turns out that I was overwhelmed with what a true professional and what a true artist she was, beyond her talent," he explained. "She's got a real brain for script analysis. She's just been totally devoted throughout all this fame. It's never dented her at all. She's been terrific from day one up until this very minute."

Despite that fame that has enveloped her since "Twilight" hit theaters in late 2008 — and despite all the roles that have come her way — Stewart remained committed to "American Girl." Woods, for one, expected nothing less from the young actress.

"She has been steadfast and true in her commitment, which did not surprise me, because when I started working with her on the script," he said, "she was so insightful."

  37. Annie,

I wonder if Kristen is really going to do this movie? While I hope she does there hasn't been any confirmation on this. It sounds like a great story. And just the typo of role that she would care about.

Yeah, those trolls are sneaky little buggers.

  49. Penny...we were all about the Strawberry Hill or Tickled Pink fine wines of the Boonesfarm brand...lol! Not sure I ever tried the Ripple!

  50. Quite coincidentally I was wearing purple today. I had no idea it was the colour to wear today.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Jentoo,

I was already at work when I read about it this morning BUT I do have purple flowers on my dress if that counts!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anyone think all the food references are odd? I mean why? Is the troll too creative for my simple mind?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I hate it when I unknowingly feed the trolls. It makes me feel stupid!

  54. I'm thinking anything purple today will do:). Most especially the sentiment that comes with it!

    ReplyDelete
  55. jentoo
Ha, ha. Yes, I went through the closet and found a purple blouse still with the tags on it. Going to wear it out and about today.

  56. Rose!!!

I think we need cleanup in the aisles again.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Did you know purple is also the color for Child Abuse Prevention, Arthritis, Colon or Prostrate Cancer, Crime Victim's Rights, Free Speech, Alzheimer's Assoc, Domestic Violence?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah...I've decided maybe it's time to start buying something besides black shirts...lol! I can't tell you how many I counted while looking for a purple one!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I did not know that, Penny. I guess I'll get lots of use out of this shirt after all!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Penny,

I did know that about Colon Cancer and Child Abuse Prevention. I had no idea about others.

I'm thinking I may need more purple. Any excuse for retail therapy. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  61. jentoo,

I have a lot of black too. I like to take all black things when I travel then its easy to coordinate.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Penny...Everything I have is black or gray, with a little brown thrown in here and there...you know, for color..lol!

    ReplyDelete
  63. DK....did you get your '8' last night?;)

  64. Teach "Love" instead:

    Carefully Taught

    Lyrics:

    You've got to be taught
    To hate and fear,
    You've got to be taught
    From year to year,
    It's got to be drummed
    In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade,
You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught before it's too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You've got to be carefully taught!

Didn't know that purple was the color of so many associations. That's great, we can unofficially represent them all.

And purple is the color of Kings & Queens, just sayin'.

  68. Rose-

This was a purplicious post today! Thanks for that!

Bullying for whatever reason is wrong. People need to take a stand against it. Taking you own life because of fear and such is so so sad.

I'm wearing my purple, black and gray plaid "chucks" today in support.

Glad I have missed the stupid troll today. Thanks to whoever fumigated it.

In part going to provide the link to "Purple Rain" by Prince. Enjoy!

  69. I agree... Bullying, of any kind, should stop. People should not be harassed for their personal choices they make. These bullies are nothing more than insecure, selfish people who are trying to make someone else feel bad so they'll feel better about themselves.

I'm out for the rest of the day. Lots of things to catch up on here. Talk to everyone soon!

When the deep purple falls over sleepy garden walls,
And the stars begin to twinkle in the night.

In the mist of a memory you wander on back to me,
Breathing my name with a sigh.

In the still of the night once again I hold you tight.

Though you're gone, your love lives on when moonlight beams.

And as long as my heart will beat, sweet lover we'll always meet.

Thanks for the great post about Kristen!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Rose,

Thank you for touching on this very important subject. Nothing has been done about it in years.

My nephew is 27, and through the first three years in elementary school he lived with bullies. He is a very good liking guy, so he was a real cute kid, and there were these same 4 little boys who made his life miserable everyday from grade to grade.

My sister talked to teachers, counselors, and principal and all she ever got is "kids will be kids", she finally pulled him out of public school and put him in a private school where he had no problems.

He is engaged to be married now, but I'm sure he has scars that will never go away.

I guess my point is you don't have to be gay or lesbian to be bullied, sometimes they just don't like you, for whatever reason.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Rose, thank you for posting about bullying. It does need to be stopped once and for all. I wish I had known to wear purple, but this is the first I have heard about it. As for Rob and Kris I feel sure they are back in each other's arms, which is where they belong. I too found the comment about her "brother" was very funny, and I know she was talking about Rob. Take care dear Rose and keep up the good work.

  76. Just back sooner rather than later, but will go again, soon after....

This is an email I got from a close friend. It is funny and truthful. I'd like to share it with you, Roselanders:

    Friendship ~

Are you tired of those "friendship"
poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.

You will see no cute little smiley faces on this ~ just the stone cold truth of a great friendship.

When you are sad ~ I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

When you are blue ~ I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

When you smile ~ I will know you are thinking of something that I would probably want to be involved in.

When you are scared ~ I will rag on you about it every chance I get until you're NOT.

When you are worried ~ I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.

When you are confused ~ I will try to use only little words.

When you are sick ~ Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

When you fall ~ I will laugh at your clumsy ass, but I'll help you up.

This is my oath. I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask ~ because you are my friend.

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

  82. The Sunny Side of the Street

    Seen the carnival at Rome
Had the women, I had the booze
    All I can remember now
Is little kids without no shoes

    So I saw that train
    And I got on it
    With a heartful of hate
    And a lust for vomit

Now I'm walking on the sunnyside of the street

    Stepped over bodies in Bombay
Tried to make it to the U.S.A.

    Ended up in Nepal
Up on the roof with nothing at all

    And I knew that day
    I was going to stay

Right where I am, on the sunnyside of the street

Been in a palace, been in a jail
I just don't want to be reborn a snail

    Just want to spend eternity
Right where I am, on the sunnyside of the street

As my mother wept it was then I swore
To take my life as I would a whore

I know I'm better than before
    I will not be reconstructed

    Just wanna stay right here
On the sunnyside of the street.

  101. Hi liza and everyone else(the sane ones):)

    Such inspiring words.

NEW YORK — "Welcome to the Rileys" director Jake Scott has used phrases like "emotionally naked" and "got dirty" to describe Kristen Stewart's performance in the film. The 20-year-old actress plays a broken young woman thrust into a life of stripping in a seedy club and selling her body in fetid motel rooms.

At the film's red-carpet premiere in Tribeca on Monday night, Scott continued to hit on those same themes of unvarnished emotionality, comparing KStew to one of the most critically lauded and emotionally expressive actresses in Hollywood.

"That's like Meryl Streep stuff, you know?" he told MTV News.

He was speaking specifically about how Stewart took on such a demanding role at such a young age — and how she delivered such a top-notch performance. "I know that she put a lot of herself into that role," he said. "She was exposing herself emotionally. In order to do that, you have to put yourself there. It was an act of courage on her part, especially considering she was only 18."

Stewart's co-star, Melissa Leo, agreed, telling us how she and James Gandolfini watched in awe as KStew blossomed on the "Rileys" set. "I met Kristen at a very special time," she said. "She had just done 'Twilight.' She had been acting for a while. She has always carefully chosen her roles. Playing the character, she was acting for the first time as an emancipated actor. It was a treat for James and I to watch her spread her wings."

That's exactly what Scott was watching on the red carpet Monday, as Stewart strode confidently from interview to interview. "She's grown up," he said. "She's a woman now. She was a girl when I first met her. I've now known her probably three years. She's just becoming this wonderful woman."

  102. The clip I saw of WTTR on Leno looked AMAZING...and I love James Gandolfini so I'm really excited to see this film..it's a win win for me!

Meanwhile, there are more verses all over the internet, when you do a search. As I find them, I'll add them onto the original and repost it.

Here are a couple of more lines:

  107. Hi Annie! :-)

I agree Kami Kristen looks totally beautiful all the time, because aswell as being stunning on the outside...she radiates it from the inside.

She is a truly beautiful soul.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Annie yes it was 5-0 Yanks bottom of the 4th when I looked a minute ago...the Rangers (yay) lead the series 3-1

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yep Liza you're right she is beautiful from the inside out! Robert is lucky to have her...I think..and I'm pretty sure he thinks so too

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thanks Kami. :)

Liza......I think Kristen could wear a paper bag and she'd look stunning!

  111. These quotes seem fitting today, given what we are all uniting against.

How wonderful it must be to speak the language of the angels, with no words for hate and a million words for love! ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him. ~Booker T. Washington

    ReplyDelete
  113. Here are a few about love:

"It is better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for someone you are not."

"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you I had no control over."

    ReplyDelete
  114. :) Thanks Kami...........I think I'll stay right here for the final score. :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. LOL ok...I'll keep an eye on it...Us Texans are really excited about the Rangers in the playoffs...I don't think that's ever happened before.

  117. The Ugly Duckling

There once was an ugly duckling
With feathers all stubby and brown

And the other birds said in so many words,

    Get out of town
Get out, get out, get out of town.

And he went with a quack and a waddle and a quack
    In a flurry of eiderdown

    That poor little ugly duckling
    Went wandering far and near

But at every place they said to his face
Now get out, get out, get out of here

And he went with a quack and a waddle and a quack
    And a very unhappy tear

All through the wintertime he hid himself away

Ashamed to show his face, afraid of what others might say

All through the winter in his lonely clump of wheat

Till a flock of swans spied him there and very soon agreed

You’re a very fine swan indeed!
A swan? Me a swan? Ah, go on!

And he said yes, you’re a swan
Take a look at yourself in the lake and you’ll see

And he looked, and he saw, and he said I am a swan! Wheeeeeeee!

I’m not such an ugly duckling
No feathers all stubby and brown

For in fact these birds in so many words said the best in town, the best, the best, the best in town

Not a quack, not a quack, not a waddle or a quack

But a glide and a whistle and a snowy white back

And a head so noble and high
    Say who’s an ugly duckling?

    Not I!
    Not I!

I'm up from about 1pm CST until dawn the next day, or so.
And I usually don't post songs throughout the day, but this day begs exception, in honor of it's theme of equality and no bullying:

    "They seek him here,
    They seek him there,
    They seek him everywhere.
    Is he in heaven,
    Or is he in hell?
    My own elusive Pimpernel."

Looking forward to the songs you'll post tonight. It's always such a special treat.

    Do you know this one?

    True Companion - Marc Cohn

Baby i've been searching like everybody else
Can't say nothing different about myself
    Sometimes i'm an angel
    And sometimes i'm cruel
And when it comes to love
    I'm just another fool
    Yes, i'll climb a mountain
    I'm gonna swim the sea
There ain't no act of god girl
Could keep you safe from me
    My arms are reaching out
    Out across this canyon
I'm asking you to be my true companion
    True companion
    True companion

So don't you dare and try to walk away
I've got my heart set on our wedding day
I've got this vision of a girl in white
Made my decision that it's you allright
And when i take your hand
I'll watch my heart set sail
    I'll take my trembling fingers

And i'll lift up your veil
    Then i'll take you home
    And with wild abandon
Make love to you just like a true companion
    You are my true companion
    I got a true companion
    True companion

When the years have done irreparable harm
I can see us walking slowly arm in arm
Just like the couple on the corner do
'cause girl i will always be in love with you
And when i look in your eyes
    I'll still see that spark
    Until the shadows fall
    Until the room grows dark
Then when i leave this earth
I'll be with the angels standin'
I'll be out there waiting for my true companion
    Just for my true companion
    True companion
    True companion

  136. 30 you're right, really cool words from James Woods. I think with every role she plays Kristen gets better and better. She was soooo good in "The Runaways"

I think Marlon Brando was an AMAZING actor and to be compared to his acting abilities is really cool.

  141. Hi Rose,
Thank you for making Roseland a place that is respectful of all and is sensitive to the problem of bullying.
Bullying of any kind is just plain wrong. People, especially young people, often feel that there is no tomorrow when they are faced with bullying. The love, caring, and understanding shown today by "Purple Love" needs to be a natural part of respecting fellow human beings every single day of the year. A Fort Worth Councilman, Joel Burns, gave an impassioned speech during a Council Meeting last week about bullying and gays. The video is on You Tube and is quite moving. The article appeared in our local paper here in TX. and was also mentioned at work by a most wonderful young man who strongly supports personal individuality.
    Hugs to all,
    Olivia (TX.)

  144. Annie, I wish I was going to one of those games, but unfortunately not. It's odd, I am closer now to Arlington, where they play, living in Kansas than I was when I was in Texas.

Hey Linda, lol yea my phone always makes me try to sign off when I send texts to my hubby with Kamikaze...feeling so much better now. Except...every once in a while here in Roseland I get a whiff of something vile in the air.

I meant to come around last night after I watched the Scream Awards which I had left recording..I watched a little, and when I woke up it was 3 a.m., so it was too late.

I'm at work, but it's really slow. Everyone has been cracking up all day---so I'm in a silly mood---almost a sillbilly mood you could say....I'll see you later, get ready to have some laughs...
