Rob and Kristen- Thankful for Twilight

Kristen is all kinds of adorable.

Promo pics from RobStenation

Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Kristen truly does make a beautiful Bella.
As soon as she puts in those brown contact lenses...
She immediately looks younger and more innocent.

So now I'm kinda all nostalgic for "Twilight"

The movie that started it all.
The movie that was the beginning of my 'Intoxication'

Surely there is a law against looking this fucking hot.

And Good Fucking Grief.
Robert as Edward.
Just as he was going to walk through the cafeteria
and we were going to see him the first time.
Just thinking about that moment...
My stomach still flip-flops.

He was perfection.
Wait.
He IS perfection.

But "Twilight" is kinda like my first love with these movies.
My first Edward.
And although I think the movies got better with each one...
Twilight will always have a special place in my heart...
as will Robert.

Can they sit ANY closer?

There has been so much chatter about the leaked commentary
for Eclispe the last few days.
Personally I can't wait to listen to it.
I loved the "Twilight" commentary
(Let's not even mention New Moon... OK?)
I have the commentary on my iPod...
and when I travel on long trips
I sometimes just close my eyes and listen to
Robert and Kristen giggle and talk.
Yeah.
I know Catherine was on it too...
But she was a bit annoying.
Not just the way she kept blathering about stuff
that had nothing to do with the movie...
But it was like she didn't even know what she was talking about.
Rob would make a point...
Ask a question...
And she would be like...
"I don't know... what do you think?"
Um. OK.
You did just direct the movie... right?

Robert + Piano = Magnificent

OK.
So Catherine did a few things right.
I can give credit where credit is due.

1. She DID cast Robert and Kristen.
Good job, Hardwicke.
I can't imagine anyone else as Edward.

2. She did have Rob playing the piano in the movie.
BRILLIANT MOVE.
Edward played the piano...
Robert plays the piano...
Why is "Twilight" the only movie thus far
to put those 2 things together??

Get used to this, Kristen... I will never let you go from now on...
3. Hardwicke did give us Robert and Kristen.
She was the first one to see their immediate chemstry.
She knew what was going to happen.
She even warned Rob about it.
(And honestly... what the fuck is THAT about?)

My goodness... they look so young here. So sweet.

4. And last but not least...
Catherine did give us the cafeteria stroll.
The strut.
The walking Edward.
Did I say Brilliant?
Yes.
Fucking Brilliant.

Chris Weitz was smart enough to give us
Rob striding
strutting
across the parking lot in New Moon.
He knew.
All TWILIGHT movies should have
Robert Pattinson walking towards the camera.
Hell...
I will take it one step further...
ALL FUCKING MOVIES FROM NOW ON
should have Robert walking in them.
Yes.
All of them.
For eternity.
Robert walking.
Brilliant.

Hi. I'm going to fall madly in love with you... Kristen.

Final thoughts.

Thanksgiving is upon us next week.
I don't know...
I just see Kristen baking her pies...
Making her stuffing...
And I see Rob (and maybe Tom?)
enjoying EVERY bite.
Kristen is known to be a good cook...
Robert is known to love eating her cooking.
Thanksgiving is a perfect opportunity for this union.

I mean...
Thanksgiving is a day you spend with family...
With people you love.
Where else is Rob going to go?
(Yes, another Twilight reference)
Kristen loves Rob...
He's almost family

And lets face it...
They have a LOT to be thankful for, don't they?
Fame.
Fortune.
Good Health.
Family.
Friends.
Love.

EACH OTHER.

Rob will stay in BR for Thanksgiving!! Please. Please.

So what if Rob goes to L.A. for Thanksgiving? Doesn't mean anything... PR! PR!

This post is brought to you by the letters *G* and *H*

G for Green Bay Packers
Pound Brett Favre into the ground.

H for Hmmmmmm...
Lots to Hmmmmm about lately.

Bye for now

  4. Hi Leigh and Angelica,

The way everyone is talking about the commentaries I think I'll have to go listen to Twilight. I have to admit, I don't think I listened to it before.

Enjoy your football everyone. I will be staying as far away from that as I can.

  5. Penny, honestly much as I love Twilight, their commentary is the best part - hilarious :)

  6. Hi Rose, Penny, Leigh, Angelica and anyone else out there - hope you all are having an awesome Sunday. :)

I am with you Rose - I hope they hand Farve his @*# in the dome (still bitter, I admit it.)

    GO PACK!!!

  7. Penny - listening to the Twilight commentary will be a PERFECT way to stay away from football today....it is fabulous! :)

  8. Those pictures of Kristen as Bella are so cute and pretty. Yes, Twilight was where it all began...though took me a year to actually watch it as I didn't want to succumb to all the hype about it when it first got release. I have to thank my husband for bringing it home one day and enticed me into watching it based on his workmate recommendation. Then I was a goner...and here I am.

  9. Hello Rose,
Thanks for the great post and thanks for the opportunity to participate in Roseland. Since everyone was so welcoming yesterday, I thought I’d take another stab at posting.

I have to agree with you on the “strut”. It is an iconic scene in Twilight history – the start of many an intoxication. And the parking lot scene in New Moon is probably one of my favourites. Love the small smirks on both Rob and Kristen’s faces, as Edward crossed the parking lot.

There was a beautiful marriage of music and aerial photography in Twilight that helped to create an almost magical backdrop for the evolving love story. Then there were the wonderful scenes of Rob at the piano (as shown in the great picture in your post) with Kristen sitting beside him. No words were needed to tell this part of the story – the music conveyed it so effectively. I think it’s these types of intimate scenes that I sort of missed seeing in New Moon and Eclipse. Thanks for reminding us of how the beauty got started.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

  10. Kay,

    Maybe I'll do just that.

I'm making SuperRN's decadent brownies right now. I didn't realize I had to unwrap a whole bag of caramels. What was I thinking?

  11. Rose I agree with you about pounding Farve into the ground. High Five on that one. AND I will say for one of the few times in my life GO PACKERS!!!

Leigh, I realize that our teams play each other on Thanksgiving, but I say no matter how it turns out we remain friends lol. I know the Cowboys will lose.

Hi Penny congrats on getting first post!

  12. Hi, Rose!! Really loved this post. Love the pics, Rob and Kristen look so young and adorable...yeah kinda feel a bit Nostalgic too now.

Yes, alot of weird things happening, lots of Hmmm!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday...take care.

  13. Brits do not celebrate Thanksgiving as far as I know. so Rob being with Kris for it makes perfect sense. they DO have a lot of things to be thankful for indeed

and of course she would bake some pie :) for hr man

Im not a fan of CH or her directing but she got a coupel of things right :D and there should definitely be some Rob playing piano in BD. or a guitar. or an effing mouth harmonica, I dont care just make him play an instrument. to her. for her

    pretty pics are pretty <3

    *twirl you later*

  14. Ah, Twilight. I sometimes forget how much I loved that movie, and most especially, that book. Very similar things happened to me in highschool, only the boy was not a vampire. Boo. It's just so relatable. Young emotions are so heightened.

And Rob and Kristen are my ideal Edward and Bella...it can't be any other way. And I do admit to having read some great fanfics, but if the authors don't see Rob and Kristen as their Edward and Bella and describe them all differently I just can't read them. Sad, I know. All around.

Anyway, the Broncos play tomorrow night so that means I have a whole Sunday to myself for once. Gotta go to Target where I will likely spend at least $100 more than I meant to spend. I'll be in and out. Have a great day ladies.

  15. Hi all!

Hi Freddie, saw your post yesterday and glad you decided to come back today. I agree with what you said also. CH showed two people being in love with no words. That is what touched me in Twilight, the small stuff. Edward playing with Bella beside him. Rob singing in the background of the restaurant scene.Things were more personal and at that time the Saga was a small indie.

The fans were calmer, saner, and so what if there was "Twilight perfume" made. Now Summit sues anyone and everyone who touches that name. Sad really, I do miss those days. I happen to read the books after I saw the movie, so Rob was always Edward to me and KS was always Bella there chemistry and friendship on and off screen was something "special" not many actors have "that" IMO. It was defiantly a matter of time they brought that relationship another level. Wouldn't it be nice if all fans respected that? and of course each other?

I would love to see these two in a movie together in the future. :)

Is it bad of me to say I would love for Rob to play a drug addict or something like Leo D did in "The basketball diaries" I can see him pushing himself as a actor that way, regardless I wish them both only the best in there future endeavors. I defiantly be watching what ever they bring us. :)

PL that pot roast is cooking and smells SO GOOD girl!

  16. Hello Rose & Roselanders,

Freddie...welcome. I'm a newbie myself and post from time to time..but I never miss reading Rose's thoughtful and truthful posts.
I remember my friend's suggestion of reading Twilight, since I was a fan of reading and watching the series, "Blood Ties". She was ecstatic that Twilight was becoming a movie...so, I read and was hooked. I saw the movie, saw Robert and Robert and Kristen and was gone. Thank you Kristen, for believing in him with you (=0). Thanks CH, for seeing what all of us see and smile because of it. Thanks Rose, for taking time in your busy days to give us some laughter, some thought, and a place to be ok with intoxication.
To 30:...no, it's not weird. I think he could totally pull it off, which is why I'll be amped when 'Bel Ami' is released in all its amoral/sexy goodness. Personally, I wish he'd play another period piece...but darker...like Jack the Ripper. As for Kristen? My dream would be for her to play another Joan...Joan of Arc. She'd be INCREDIBLE!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Gawd, they both look so young!!

I adore how their friendship grew and blossomed into something so special...the most lasting relationships often start out as friends first, IMO.

Hope they and everyone here in Roseland has a Thanksgiving that they can truly be thankful for!!I will start by being thankful for Rose's unique sense of humour!!

  18. ROSE...I THINK EDWARD WALKING INTO THE CAFETERIA is what got me...so I agree with you...we have to thanks CH for that..If they dont have Edward/Rob playing the piano or something in BD, I will be extremely put out with that omission. SUE BEE...I read your post about having majored in English. I am going to try to do better with my posts.

PENNY LANE...re the BROWNIES...you can buy "pourable caramel". They have it with the baking chocolate chips at the grocery stores here. IM WAY TOO LAZY to unwrap all those individually.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Rose,
I love those pictures of kristen, hadn't seen them before. I think one other thing CH got right was the music. I love the compositions by Carter Burwell and wish they had kept them in the other movies. I know which songs belonged to key scenes and honestly can't tell you what was played in the other movies.

  21. THIMBLES...About JACK THE RIPPER...A forensic investigator wrote a detailed book about him several years ago. I cant remember her name or the name of the book...I passed it on to a friend at work. They discovered who he was by doing a DNA analysis of the glue on the back of one of the letters he sent to Scotland Yard. It would scare the Hell out of me for Rob to portray him because he was evil incarnate...the author went into great detail about him...and there were real crime scene pictures in that book... im having chills just describing it here.

  22. SuperRN,

Now you tell me about the pourable caramel. I've already unwrapped the little devils.

I think I'm going to have to send this to work with hubs because there is no way I'm keeping these around

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah Catherine warned him off of Kristen, because at the time Kristen and Michael were dating, and if Rob had have made his move; so much shit could have gone on. He'd have got arrested. Good he could hold it in for an extra year or so. :):)

Thanksgiving. Bring it on, even though I don't celebrate it. It may mean an R/K sighting, and at least I'll have a guess with you all, that they're doing something fun = such as celebrating Thanksgiving.
I'm wondering, will they go back to LA? Oh I'm excited too for Christmas, and New Years. Will they go to the Isle of Wight again?

You do get spoiled when people talk about the commentaries. I listened to the parts, I admit. But I think parts, even if they were around 10 minutes, were missing some things.
I can't wait though, for you Rose to hear the commentary and comment on it. It'll be good to read your opinion, your favourite parts etc.

  24. Hi Super! :)

I do agree, but DAM wouldn't you go see that movie if Rob played him? I know I would! We are used to seeing him play a good kid, or a romantic lead. I would love if he went to a dark dark role, but that could because I just love those type of movies and love Rob sooooo. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bill C...Did you hear Rose???!!!

YES...Rob playing the piano (hint- Renesmee's lullabye) and Rob f**king walking in BD...I would give thanks for both.

One of my all time favorite photos is Kristen(B) with her eyes closed resting on Robert's(E) chest...so beautiful.

Here's to a peaceful day in Roseland.

  26. Hi 30. You put it so well. It was the small things about Twilight that made it feel more personal. It really allowed the audience to get to know, and become invested in the characters.

  30. Aww this post leaves me nostalgic. I think that Twilight will forever be my favorite movie of the series. It focused on the love between the two which was what drew us all in in the first place. I love the picture of them sitting side by side on the table. Simply "being" without words just totally comfortable with each other.

My all time favorite photo of them is from the Twilight set when they are goofing around hanging from the wires up in the trees. It is such a cute picture and I love it.

Hoping for a peaceful day here in Roseland.

  56. Hi SueBee my love! & hi Angelica.

I Believe, I don't really know much about Kate but they seem happy and that's the main thing. I do quite like the fact shes just an average girl from a normal family though. Shows that it doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, we are all the same and if your in love and happy you can overcome any obstacles.

    :-D

30, hi! I am jealous of the warmth! the snow was really thick here last year I got snowed in.....I like a sprinkling of snow but I hope it isn't that deep this year!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Speaking of matches, the early Twilight pictures prove that Kristen and Rob are a match made in heaven...Aahh...Aahh...do I hear angels singing????

    ReplyDelete
  58. Speaking of nervous twitches, I survived the family visiting.

I only have one question. How can a 10 year old boy dump an entire pitcher of Tang (which had a lid) all over my counter and kitchen floor and think it is funny?

He didn't ask for a drink-just went in, grabbed the pitcher, did NOT turn the lid to "pour" and couldn't understand how the lid and all of it's contents splattered everywhere.

Normally, hey no big deal when things are spilled--BUT I had just scrubbed my floor on my hands and knees that morning. To add insult to injury--he didn't even drink the Tang he had poured in the glass!!!!! (Not to mention the laughing)

Soooo, what does this have to do with anything? Hmmm...not a clue.
Just one of many episodes packed in a 24 hour period that makes this Mikes Margarita in my hand a necessity.

Love my family---but if 10 kids under the age of 10 years old are going to be packed in my living room, I'm going to need a bigger house!

(Credit to my girls--they were very well behaved)

    Tis the season--(for some Tylenol!)

Oh, and the first Twilight has a special place in my heart too.

    Love you my friends.

    ReplyDelete
  59. ANGELICA..You over there too???

30..we had 8 inches of snow in February!!! here in SC that almost never happens...we go years without a single snowflake!

LIZA...When we went there were people, I think they called them Punks...they were all over the place. We were there in 85...Boy George was popular then and he was in wax at Madame Tussauds at that time. I hope we have a chance to come back over sometime. I would like to see more of the countryside.

SUE BEE...thanks..I am feeling some relief!

HUGS everybody...got to go run some errands with hubby. Happy Sunday.

Ooh, that sounds fantastic! Could that forensic investigator be crime author/fmr. forensics pathologist Patricia Cornwall? I remember following her pursuit of Jack the Ripper.

Sorry, if I sound morbid, but before I delved into the theatre world, I was involved in the criminal justice/forensics world...I'd rather write them/construct outfits for a dark character than actually chase them, I've found out. Jack has always scare me, but fascinated me and I wrote an extensive research paper back in university to which my professor asked to keep..hmm...and lemme tell ya, there were nights of research that I scared myself silly.

But I would LOVE Robert to play this real-life monster. I think he's got the range and can conjure up the dark. And can you imagine seeing him, beautiful in period piece and absolutely evil? Too cool of a role. Rob? Kris? Rob's handlers? If any of you are reading Rose's post...consider him for Jack. Thanks & Hearts, Thimbles.

  66. *I*Believe: I know! It's mostly due to the fact Target was jam packed and I wanted to get the hell outta dodge. I just wanted to pick up a small handheld electric mixer because I'm tired of lugging the giant Kitchenaid mixer out everytime I make a pie. I also got the new People issue, the Sexiest Man issue, so I'll be occupied for a bit devouring the mag.

  67. Ya gotta LOVE Target, though, for the longest time we didn't have them in upstate NY. I had to wait to go to Indiana to visit my husband's family to get my Target fix...now we have them all over here...lucky me!

  69. SueBee,

Sorry to hear about the tang incident. Especially after you just washed the floor. ;( If my daughter had done that I guarantee you she would have helped with the clean up and never would have laughed. Did the Mom help at least? I do hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  70. SueBee,
It could have been worse, I suppose...when my cousin was about 7 or 8, she spilled (my Mom still says dumped) a container of orange Tang on their newly carpeted family room, and it took the color right out of the rug!!

Glad you were able to clean it up...I certainly don't envy you a house full of 10 yr olds!

  72. hi everyone!

Rose, im w/ you. The first time i saw Rob(Edward) strut, i know im a goner. Ah Twilight, the beginning of these craziness. It will always be my fave among the first 3. Wow i havent seen this pics of Kristen, she looked so young, innocent and beautiful. By these pics, I can see her doing a period role. Gonna thanks CH for giving us Rob&Kristen, Edward&Bella.

    Have a happy Sunday everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thank you Rose for the beautiful pictures of Kristen and Rob. She is such a stunning natural beauty. He is one of the most handsome young men in the industry. What is so wonderful IMO is that they are also beautiful on the inside, intelligent, kind, and modest. To top all that off, they both are immensely talented and wish to challenge themselves and continue growing in their craft.

I have so believed from the early Twilight days that they were destined to meet and that they are true soul mates. It is a joy to see them together, enjoying life, work, each other and their close, supportive circle of family and friends. Here is to wishing them very special moments together over the upcoming holidays. They are so wise and mature in the way that they are protecting their love and private relationship.

I have confidence in the choices that they both will make in upcoming work projects. I can hardly wait for both WFE and BA to open next year. The YH will be available soon on DVD and is such a beautiful film that Kristen is in, well worth purchasing.

Thank you DK for the Janis Joplin (One Good Man) that you posted this past morning. She is awesome.

Birdie, thanks for the chocolate pie recipe. Looks great!

    Welcome Freddie, wonderful comments.

Sydney, meant to tell you I loved the comment to the sad, pathetic little one the other day. It was so well done.

Lastly, Hope, I second your suggestions to BC about Rob in BD......the lullaby and the walking need to be in the film.

    Hugs to all and **waves**

Isn't it nice something like a Eclipse dvd can bring a smile back so quickly? :)Rob and Kristen do have that effect. I learned my lesson last time from ordering dvds online though. Every time (it never fails) others got there's and mine is never ,ever here the exact release date. I hate waiting for shipping. So target will be getting a visit from me the day it comes out. :)

  87. Here's a recipe from Whole Foods Market that I found online.

I haven't made it yet but thought that I'd post it for reference.

They have lots of good recipes for seasonal dishes especially at: www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes

    Salmon Chowder

    Serves 4
This scrumptious chowder is one of the most satisfying ways we know of to get your omega-3's, and it's a great way to warm up a chilly evening.
Make it a day ahead for company, reheating gently without boiling.

    Ingredients
3 strips nitrite-free bacon, diced (pork, turkey or vegetarian)
    1 large yellow onion, diced
    1/2 cup diced celery
2 large Russet potatoes, peeled and diced
    2 carrots, peeled and diced
2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
    1/2 cup whole milk
    1/2 cup half-and-half
1 1/2 pounds salmon fillet, skinned, boned and cut into 1-inch cubes
    1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/2 to 1 teaspoon dried dill
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 tablespoon minced fresh chives for garnish
Oyster crackers for garnish (optional and contain gluten)

    Method
Brown bacon in a deep, heavy-bottomed sauce pot until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Sauté onion and celery in the bacon fat in the same pot until onion is translucent. (If using turkey or vegetarian bacon, add canola oil to sauté onion and celery.) Add potatoes and sauté about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not brown. Add carrots and stock, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are fork tender about 10 minutes.

Add milk, half and half, salmon, parsley, dill and pepper. Simmer over low heat 5 to 8 minutes or until fish is cooked through and liquid is steaming, but not boiling. Add more pepper and salt to taste. Transfer to serving bowls and garnish with crispy bacon pieces and chives. Serve with oyster crackers, if desired.

It was rated 4 stars **** by reviewers.

ITA-CH is a hot mess, but boy, did she know how to pick her leads.

I love that CH warned him too, both Robert AND CH mentioned this at one point or another. Rob's version is hilarious to listen to. he says that she was like "you got the job" and before he could be happy about it, she started ragging on him about not making a move on krsiten, cause she knows her bf, and he'll go to jail, and Robert said he was just like what???lol

See, CH knew, just like you said. She saw that audition and knew those two were gonna be picking food out of eachother's teeth in no time flat!!!

  118. Hi all,

Thanks Olivia and DreamerKind for the welcome and kind feedback.

I'm amazed by all of the great recipes you all post. I wish I could contribute to the Roseland cookbook, but the truth of the matter is that I’m a lousy cook. Or more accurately, I don’t cook. The most that can be said for me, is that I warm food. Thank goodness for the microwave….and home delivery. Aside from my kettle, my microwave and fridge, my kitchen is decorative. It just happened to come with the house…..

As tempting as all of the recipes sound, it would probably be best for me to avoid the temptation, because if they were in the house, I WOULD have to eat them.

Oh and btw, I didn't know they still make Tang. I drank that as a kid.

    SuperRN-

Thanks for the reposting of the brownies ( I missed it the first time)...

    Freddie-

I would suggest that you get someone who knows how to cook to make some of the recipes that are posted on here so you don't miss out. However since they are cooking then you would get clean up duty! That's how it goes in my family. Whoever doesn't cook, cleans...

    ReplyDelete
  124. I've heard such great things about this crockpot recipe from Robsten Angels, so I am bringing it over here for us.

    FROM ROBSTEN ANGELS:

    Meadow Girl's Crock Pot Lasagne

Tips....I use a large round crock pot. You can use an oval one
too, but it seems to come out better in a round one.

Cook on LOW...do not cook on High...it will get burned.
Only cook for about 4 hours.

Do not start it in the morning and leave all day and come back and expect it to be good. It will be burned and ruined.

This is not a low-fat dish. I will give you the basic receipe that I
use, but there are many of your own variations you can add to
make it what you want it to be.
    __________________________________

*1 lb ground beef (or you can use ground turkey, ground sausage, a mixture, whatever you like)

*1 can 26.5oz of Hunts Pasta Sauce (it comes in many varieties,
choose one that you like the best..regular, garlic and onion,
    mushroom, ect.)

*1 6-oz can of tomato PASTE. Don't forget this, it is very
important on your lasagne will come out watery and blah.

*1 cup water...(this cooks the pasta noodles. Do not add more
    water than this)

*8 oz package of lasagna noodles...UNCOOKED Do not add more
than this amount, or your lasagne will come out too dry.

*4 cups shreeded mozzarella cheese (I take a short cut here and
    buy Tillamook preshredded cheese)

    *1 and 1/2 cups small-curd cottage cheese (I use low-fat)

    * 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. (I buy premium Parmesan cheese in a block from Costco and grate it myself...delicious!)

Lightly spray Crock Pot with Pam to prevent sticking and make
    clean-up easy.

    1. Cook meat in pan until well browned. Drain.
    2. Stir in pasta sauce, water, tomato paste, dash of salt. Mix
    Well.
    3. Spread 1/4 of meat sauce in slow cooker. Arrange 1/3 of
    noodles over the sauce.
You may have to break the lasagne
noodles up to get them in there properly since you are trying to
put rectangle noodles into a round crock pot, but this is fine
since it doesn't matter at all. Just remember not to put too
    many noodles in.
    4. Combine all the cheeses in a large bowl and mix together.

Spoon 1/3 of cheese mixture over noodles. Repeat layers twice.

    Top with remaining meat sauce.
    5. Cover. Cook on low about 4 hours. You can taste the noodles
to see if they are getting cooked and soft.
But don't open the lid very often and just crack it open to get the spoon in. You could check it after about 3 hours or so.

Be careful! Some Crockpots cook very hot. Even on LOW. Keep an
eye on it so it doesn't burn.

You can add many variations to this depending on how you like
your pasta sauce. You can even make your own, add onions and
garlic, italian spices, whatever. But I promise that just about
    everyone will love it.

Serve with your favorite salad, bread, and wine. For dessert,
well, you may be so full you won't want dessert, but ice cream or
    carrot cake go great!!

This is the easiest lasagne you will ever make.

Just be sure not to put in too many noodles more than 8 oz.
It may not look like enough at first, but they expand with cooking and you don't want to have a dry lasagne. Don't forget the water and the tomato paste.
    Get ready for compliments!!

    **Roselanders:
I'll happily pass on any compliments to Meadow Girl @ RA or you can register there and do it on your own. They're also a great bunch of R & K lovers and good folks!

  127. Hi guys..

Haven't been on yet today because things are busy here.. trying to get things ready for my trip..

But I'm having a debate with a friend of mine and wanted to see what you guys thought.. because I'm all kinds of curious now. (it may be because of the woo woo's I've had lately.. but who knows)

But do male frogs have a penis?
Anybody know for sure? I'm trying to remember my biology classes, but again.. woo woo's may be affecting that.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I was late(r) to the Twilight saga, saw the movie when it came out on DVD and was hooked! I read the book, then read the rest of the saga within the next 5 days. Rob and Kristen have always been Bella and Edward for me...and I can't honestly think of anyone better.

And, while I was disappointed in some of the liberties CH took with the story, she got the essence, and I appreciate that! I just rewatched it a couple weeks ago, I could watch it daily and still love it!

    Have a good one, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Tracy,

I imagine there is some joke here that I don't know about, but I'll bite.

I think frogs are asexual with all organs internal. Female lays eggs and then male fertilizes.

My biology frog was filled with eggs. I vividly remember that.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I def out of the frog convo. Anybody hear from jentoo lately?

    ReplyDelete
  131. Tracy-

I agree with Penny. Sex organs are internal, so male frogs obviously don't have a penis you can see. I guess you could dissect one and see if the man root is inside!

    Enjoy your woo-woo...

    Penny-

I paid $21.99 plus tax and shipping for the 2 disc dvd at Target.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Just curiously trying to remember my biology.

I know that fertilization happens externally, so that's why I'm curious.

Sperm's gotta come from somewhere, right?

I say no penis, friend says yes penis.. so thought I'd get other opinions.

A Hundred Million Miracles (7 mins)

    Lea Salonga 2002 Broadway Revival:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p5MRGQP5e4

    by Rogers & Hammerstein

My father says that children keep growing,
    Rivers keep flowing too.

My father says he doesn't know why,
But somehow or other they do.
--They do! some how or other they do.--

    A hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day,

And those who say they don't agree
Are those who do not hear or see.
    A hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day,

    --Miracle of changing weather:--
When a dark blue curtain is pinned by the stars,
Pinned by the stars to the sky,
Ev'ry flow'r and tree is a treat to see,
The air is very clean and dry.

Then a wind comes blowing the pins all away,
    Night is confused and upset!
The sky falls down like a clumsy clown,
The flowers and the trees get wet.--Very wet!--

    A hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day,

And when the wind shall turn his face,
The pins are put right back in place!
    A hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day!

In ev'ry single minute so much is going on,
Along the Yangtse Kiang or the Tiber or the Don.
    A hundred million miracles!

A swallow in Tasmania is sitting on her eggs,
And suddenly those eggs have wings and eyes and beaks and legs!
    A hundred million miracles!

A little girl in Chungking, just thirty inches tall,
Decides that she will try to walk and nearly doesn't fall!
    A hundred million miracles!

A hundred million miracles, a hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day!

My father says the sun will keep rising over the eastern hill.
My father says he doesn't know why but somehow or other it will.
--It will! somehow or other it will.--

    Miracle of making music:--
When an idle poet puts words on a page,
Writes on a page with his brush,
A musical friend writes the notes to blend
    Suggested by an idle thrush.

Then a young soprano reads what they wrote,
    Learns every note, every word,
Puts all they wrote in her lovely throat,
And suddenly a song is heard!
    --Very Pretty!--

A hundred million miracles, a hundred million miracles,
A hundred million miracles are happ'ning ev'ry day!

    Thank You/boinx1234

  138. Just dropping by to say hello to all the Roselanders.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday. My Monday was pretty hectic, and I'm glad it's almost over.

    Olivia - agree with you 100% about R & K.

SueBee & Angelica - It's good to know that I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by the Jacob character.

LJ - You mentioned a holiday in honor of Will & Kate's wedding. Hope the holiday extends to Australia. I would love to have a day off. :)

Love the recipies that are being posted. Can't wait to try them out.

    Sorry for the long post.

    Have a great day/evening

    Bye for now
    Amara :)

She really put on the heat, huh? Well, you are now ahead of her game and that makes you look good.

    Anything planned after work today?

    ReplyDelete
  143. Gwen
I am doing laundry, dishes and had some scrambled eggs. If I get to bed early enough, I'll follow up on getting those new tires. Lol.

  144. DK

Doing not much after work, go home directly. I just need rest, felt so drained, lol.

What foods are you preparing for the Thanksgiving? What's the connection of the turkey during Thanksgiving, just curious?

  145. Just changed my blogger profile pic.

Afterwards, I noticed that the computer responded with this, "fetching profile picture" and I gratefully said in return, "Thank you very much, you have good taste, computer program."

This photo is my late one night, I think that I might look like Vanessa Redgrave, so let's take a shot, and make it so.

My nose is not that pointy but illusion is everything in photos.

Don't forget that I am the FairyGodmother, related to the Good Witch Glinda, and the Wicked Witch of the North.

Pictures prove everything, so there you are, Miss Doubter Bren.

Mind if I just wing my answers? Well, that's what I am going to do.

Turkeys were the wild birds of North America, when the original English settlers spent their first winter here.

They shot them and cooked them. The kindness of the native Indians helped them to survive by giving them corn and spirits, too.

It was a celebration of giving thanks to God for that same survival factor.

We continue to celebrate that first Thanksgiving, in thanks
to the pilgrims who came here and started it all in the New World.

That's all I recall and it may be totally wrong but I like my point of view, so I'll stand by it.

Ignorance is bliss at any time of the year.

I am celebrating at a local hotel/resort and ordering filet.

    ReplyDelete
  147. DK

arent you gonna celebrate it at home. But if in the hotel/resort, you do have your family w/ you right?

    ReplyDelete
  148. Gwen
I am so tired of misplacing things that I find I need, a year or so later, and I can't find them.

Now I am placing those very things in the right places, to begin with. Why did I find that so hard to do?

Of course, those misplaced things were not lost, for they were exactly where I placed them.

It is very exciting to think about what lies ahead in the next few weeks, as I continue placing the misplaced things in the right places, as they appear again.

Things have a life of their own, I'm certain of it, and sometimes they get stubborn and are not easily found.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Gwen
You are so sweet to care about how I celebrate Thanksgiving and that I will be with family. :)

So far, my sister, my bff, her son and his friend are coming to celebrate at the hotel/resort.

In prior posts, I whined and complained about my son and his gf being on a holiday cruise.

Then, I did so about my daughter going to the ex's with her bf. Since they cannot stay in the same room with me (I drew the line) and won't pay for their own room, that's that.

Yet, I am thankful to be doing what I will be doing, and then some. Fate will make the day, what it is meant to be.

    Had enough?

    ReplyDelete
  150. DK

Give me a moment for my brain to sink in what you said. Where o where did my brain go? Maybe i also misplaced it also, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  151. Gwen
You still have the head screw you lost but that I returned, in place, right?

It would really make a big difference if you have misplaced it again, in someone else's head!

    ReplyDelete
  152. DK

I do remember you returned it to me.

Im sure i misplace it today or my boss took it w/ her, lol.

The misplace things you post they're just random thoughts or were there a hidden message?

  153. You Go To My Head

    Diana Krall is haunting here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKzhFqemJXU

    You go to my head,
And you linger like a haunting refrain

And I find you spinning round in my brain
Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne.

    You go to my head
Like a sip of sparkling burgundy brew

And I find the very mention of you
Like the kicker in a julep or two.

    The thrill of the thought
That you might give a thought to my plea
    Casts a spell over me

So I say to myself: get a hold of yourself
Can't you see that it never can be?

    You go to my head
With a smile that makes my temperature rise

Like a summer with a thousand Julys
You intoxicate my soul with your eyes
Tho I'm certain that this heart of mine

Hasn't a ghost of a chance in this crazy romance,
    You go to my head.

    Thank you/yasmimlaguinilla

    Very good question!

Let's say that I am frustrated because something is misplaced and for real, it is causing me stress that I can't find it.

So, that began a campaign to correctly places those things I find while looking for the naughty, misplaced, needed things.

The message might be hidden, too. Wouldn't that be something, for it to be hidden from me, too?

Certainly, I injected my own brand of humor in the writing about it, to soothe my savage breast and for invoking the karma needed to find the damned misplaced things right now. Tonight or tomorrow for sure!

  155. I Didn't Know What Time It Was

    Sarah Vaughan shines here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vJzjDi1kYI
    by Rogers and Hart

    Once I was young --
    yesterday, perhaps --
    danced with Jim and Paul
    and kissed some other chaps.

    Once I was young,
    but never was naive.
I thought I had a trick or two
    up my imaginary sleeve.
And now I know I was naive.

I didn't know what time it was
    then I met you.
Oh, what a lovely time it was,
    How sublime it was too!

I didn't know what time it was
    you hold my hand.
Warm like the month of May it was,
and I'll say it was grand.

Grand to be alive, to be young,
to be mad, to be yours alone!
Grand to see your face, feel your touch,
hear your voice say I'm all your own.

I didn't know what time it was
    live was no prize.
I wanted love and here it was
    shining out of your eyes.
    I'm wise,
and I know what time it is now.

    Once I was old --
    Twenty years or so --
    rather well preserved:
    the wrinkles didn't show.

    Once I was old,
but not too old for fun.
I used to hunt for little girls
    up my imaginary gun.
But now I aim for only one!

I didn't know what time it was
    then I met you.
Oh, what a lovely time it was,
    How sublime it was too!

I didn't know what time it was
    you hold my hand.
Warm like the month of May it was,
and I'll say it was grand.

Grand to be alive, to be young,
to be mad, to be yours alone!
Grand to see your face, feel your touch,
hear your voice say I'm all your own.

I didn't know what year it was
    live was no prize.
I wanted love and here it was
    shining out of your eyes.
    I'm wise,
and I know what time it is now.

    Thank you/gensizin

  161. You Stepped Out Of A Dream

Nat King Cole & Nelson Riddle:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYVRaSVUq-0

(by Nacio H. Brown, Gus Kahn)

    You,
    Stepped out of a dream,
    You are too wonderful
    To be what you seem.

Could there be eyes like yours?
Could there be lips like yours?
Could there be smiles like yours,
    Honest and truly?

    You,
    Stepped out of a cloud,
I want to take you away
    Away from the crowd,

And have you all to myself,
    Alone and apart.
    Out of a dream
    Safe into my heart.

    You,
    Stepped out of a cloud,
I want to take you away
    Away from the crowd,

And have you all to myself,
    Alone and apart.
    Out of a dream,
    Safe into my heart...

    Wa-dee-la-la
    Out of a dream!

    Good day to you!

    Dear Roseland:
I'm done playing my sappy, sentimental oldies (really, really old) music for the night.

It so suited my need to calm down and mellow out.

Hope you Roselanders got some mellow along with me.

(Swoosh..DK has stepped into a dream.)

  168. This is off topic but for all the cooks here, who have an I-phone, Touch, I-pad or android phone there are some cool apps available many free and some with audio.

    For example:
    Food Network.
    Epicurious.
Food and Wine has one that suggest a wine to go with the meal.........Just type in the meal.

Kitchenpad Timer is another awesome one.

There are so many to choose from!

  171. I think CH did a great job with Twilight. She made the best with what she had...which was a small budget. My big complaint is the casting of Niki Reed. I don't have anything against her but she wasn't who I invisioned as Rosalie. As always, loved the post Rose!
