Rob and Kristen- Au Contraire

I actually don't have any words for this. None.

Intoxication level 8
RED ALERT! RED ALERT!
DuRob will most likely cut me down to the ground.

Yes, Robert looks... well... INTOXICATING in black.
With the longer hair.
The stern look on his face
(And he always looks stern in the pics, doesn't he?)
But I think a part of the reason its such a high intoxication level...
is because he's NOT Edward.
And I fucking LOVE Edward.
But seeing him move past it...
Seeing him grow and get better with every movie he makes...

RED ALERT! RED ALERT!
INTOXICATION LEVEL 10!

Yes. This picture of Robert walking is STILL in the top 3 of all walking pictures.

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for "Twilight" Robward.
It was all so much simpler back than.
Rob was kinda greasy and unkempt...
He mis-buttoned his shirts all the time...
He was all wrinkled and adorkable.
He was so incredibly shy and charming and... OPEN about himself.
I miss that Robert.
So much.

But not only has Rob had to grow and change
as his level of 'famous' has grown...
The fanbase has changed dramatically.
We used to all be in it together... you know?
We all just LOVED Robert Pattinson.
And now that has been splintered and shredded.
It's not so much about the love anymore
Now it's Who is right...
Who is wrong.
It just seems to be all about the hate.
Hating Kristen.
Hating Robert.
Hating each other.
Hating people who don't agree with you.
Seems silly to even write it down.
My feelings?
I know I poke fun at the foam...
But I don't make it PERSONAL.
I don't attack individual people
I don't go beyond the Rob/Kristen debate.
I may not agree with you...
I may think you are a wee bit delusional and strange...
(and incredibly bitter)
But I don't HATE you.
And I most definitely could never hate on Rob or Kristen.
Never.
Ever.

So yeah... I'm a bit nostalgic.
And maybe just a little melancholy.

I just love this picture. It's completely Kristen.
I obviously adore Kristen.
I get a lot of shit because I do.
I still find it fascinating how different opinions about an actress
can cause such havoc and drama.
You do.
You don't.
She's not a lesbian.
Blah Blah Blah.
I know I've said this before
(Bear with me... I'm waxing nostalgic for some reason today)
But I don't care if you like Kristen.
I really don't give a shit.
You are entitled to not like someone.
I don't expect anyone to love her because she's with Rob.
(Yes. We all know she's with Rob;)
It's just the never ending bitter hatred I don't get.
The constant barrage of insults.
The way everything that is negative in this fandom
somehow falls at Kristen's feet.
How in some people's eyes...
Kristen IS the root of all evil.
Please.

She's just a girl.
A famous, beautiful, talented girl.
A girl who happened to have Robert Pattinson fall in love with her
(For the last time, I might add)
A girl who fell in love with one of the most adored
and fiercely sought after men on the planet.
I get being a bit jealous of her.
Who wouldn't be?
I can admit to it.
But I don't hate her for it.
On the contrary...
I just want her to be happy.
I want her and Robert to be happy.
(Forever and ever)
(0K... so I have that song in my head now)
Seeing Robert and Kristen happy...
Makes me happy.
Not bitter... or angry.
No drama necessary.

Who knows how long I've loved you. You know I love you still.

And finally.
I watched ECLIPSE with the Rob/Kristen commentary.
I admit to being a bit hesitant about it.
I've heard such varying opinions on the whole thing.
Good and Bad.
(of course...)
But I found Rob and Kristen to be completely charming.
They laughed and giggled through the whole thing.
Can Kristen's giggle be any cuter?
Can Rob's laughter be any more adorable?
And from my point of view
(That is what this blog is, after all)
Those were not two people who can't stand each other.
Au contraire mon ami
I heard two people who knew each other VERY well.
Two people who had lots of inside jokes and innuendo
Two people who share not only a love for IN N OUT burgers...
But two people who obviously spend a great deal of time together.
People made huge drama out of Kristen saying 'shut up' to Rob
That only tells me that she was reminding him that they were
being taped... and that he seemed close to crossing a personal line.
I found it incredibly entertaining.
And sweet.
And Adorable.
And everything I thought it would be.
Especially since they weren't even really together when they did it.
They still got each other...
They still were connected.

As for the 'dude' reference at the end?
That's what people cling to as some major sign that they
don't really like each other in real life?
Um.
No.
Robert saying 'dude' was so obviously a joke
He was giggling when he said it...
And Kristen returned it... the same way.
Just more cuteness.
Always more.

So that brings us to an end of another post.
Tomorrow is
10.12.10

I'm not trying to be cryptic or secretive.
Really.
I just type my thoughts as they come to me.

This post is brought to you my the letter *T* and numbers 10 and 12

T for Tome.

If you only knew.

10.12.10
I kinda like typing it like that.
I find it fascinating how people are waiting
to see what happens.
They disregard what I have said...
and just focus on what they want to see.

Until then.

Bye for now

  2. Looks like I get the second comment of the day too!

Rob and Kristen are sweet together. I'm ignoring anyone who says differently.

    So there!

    Hello my friends!

I would give you all tackle hugs but I'm wrapped up in this wonderful blanket. Come give me a hug and I might share my warm blanket with you. ;o)

  3. Hi Rose! I do hope all is well. Great pic of Rob up top, I cant wait for Bel Armi also.

I do miss the days when being a part of this fan base was just simple. For me, I dont care if a person has a different opinion. I mean how boring would it be if we all agreed 100% of the time? My issue is more with how that opinion is written, and taken of course. I mean if someone comes off all rude, all knowing, pretending to be all noble with ill intentions at heart. I know for me, I can smell that shit a mile away.

That is pretty much my pet peeve with that subject. It is all in manners, and in the way things are said. I mean I am no way perfect (who is?) but if I disagree with someone I try to say it in a decent way. If someone says hello to me and acknowledges me, I say Hi back and smile. :) We only have control over ARE actions, are words, we cant control others and there class or lack of....

In the end, this fan base is fucken crazy, LOL The few of us sane, mature fans really need to stick together.

  4. They are sweet together and that commentary is hilarious. I love her semi-cryptic references to "the thing" on Bella's head and Rob sniggering about it :)

  5. Rose, I love this post. Mainly because I too feel nostalgic for how Twilight was when it all began... The franchise, the fans, and the actors. How simple, and how real it all was. Now it's turned into a circus of insanity and hate, sometimes. Makes me truly sad.

As for Rob and Kristen... well, they seem to be doing AMAZINGLY WELL! I miss how earnest and open they used to be, but I also feel so proud of how they've matured and grown... together.

And the commentary... It was PERFECT. I cannot even begin to describe the smile on my face when I think about it. It was so awesome! I really don't know what people expected... they were being taped after all, so they were being careful. But the few slips from both were so endearing. Each passing day, I love and admire them more!

It makes me happy to see there are more sane fans than not. And There are some that write blogs showing their support and love, like you. :)

  6. Yay, loved hearing your thoughts on the commentary. I liked the commentary too. It was nice to listen to.

I loved the laughing, the communication, and the whole "Woofs" comment, obviously in the direction to David Letterman, after his ridiculous errors and bitchy, grumpy old side that he showed to Kristen.

  7. Um that Bel Ami still...no words for him...

I love period pieces and he has two coming out back to back. Win!

Love them both and miss seeing their smiling faces. Maybe they will come out of ninja mode soon. I know they have a lot going on right now, so it's all good.

Still waiting on my Eclipse DVD. Post office is behind and so it won't get here till Monday now. :(

Okay need to head back to work. Hugs and toodle for now.

  8. Hello Rose & Roselanders, *waves*

Rose: *claps* Brava, to this post. I wholeheartedly agree.

SueBee: I've recently watched "Pirate Radio" as well...I already thought Tom was adorable, especially because of his fierce friendships toward the lovely Rob & Kris, but this man has a quiet, magnetic feel about him. And the voice...wow. I wish good things for his career as well.

As for DuRob...yum..and yay! Can't wait to see Rob in all the BA amoral deliciousness. I tell ya, he'd be *perfect* for a darker, victorian role...ol' jackie boy.

  9. I'm new here but have been reading and giggling for a LOONNG time. I love it and check in every day!! Adore adorkable Rob from Twi interviews. Miss that too.

Love the commmentary. Very real and couplelike (new word) the way they raised their voices freely defending their characters etc. silly possesive Rob came through now and then. "He brought you a gift? He's goin down." and "How much of his eyes do you have to see?" hehe

  10. Hi Melinda!

I agree, I wish they would just pop up somewhere so we know they are OK. No pics, no fan sightings. After a while I get a bit worried.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Melinda, I think it's the Royal Mail. My Mom's told me they're behind, they have like a backlog. Which is frustrating when you need to give out presents in about a week. The time they decide to have backlogs, and it's almost Christmas time! :O

I hope they come out of ninja mode too. But hey, not too long to wait really, as shouldn't they be heading off for a Christmas break? December will fly by. [:

  16. Fabulous post Rose! I totally agree with you about the "shut up" and "dude" on the R/K commentary. I absolutely loved hearing their interaction with each other. Too bad they weren't in the same place. But, so amazing that they have such a connection thousands of miles apart.

I really hope they do commentary on BD 1 and 2. They are so cute and funny. Plus I just adore Rob's accent. And when Kristen imitates the way he says things. So sweet. <3 them!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Priceless...hearing both of them giggle and poke fun at each other during the commentary....loved every minute of it.

  18. Susan!! ((HUGS)) - now can I have some of that warm blanket? It is freezing out!

I agree with you - Tom is adorable in all of Pirate Radio, not just the snippet that made the rounds here.

I loved Rob and Kristen's banter in the commentary - they just get each other.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

  19. Hi, Rose!!! great post! and Hi to everyone else. Hope everything is great with all of you!

I also miss when things were simpler! when every single thing were not turned into drama ... but the hatred is what upset me the most and makes me feel really sad.

I can't wait for Bel Ami! and DuRob is going to be the death of me. Loving Rob in the period close.

I said it before and am going to say it again I LOVED the dvd commentary Robert and Kristen are freaking adorable...I just loved hearing their interaction...priceless.

I miss seeing their gorgeous faces!

    Hugs to all

  20. Rose you always know what to say and when to say it. So glad you gave your viewpoints on the Eclipse commentary. You nailed it as usual!

I love T for Tome too.

  21. Rob has the perfect look for period pieces. An article, I don't remember which, described his looks as Byronic and I think that is fitting. He should be a natural for the look of Bel Ami.

    Roselanders,

wow tuesday's comments gave me a headache and decided not to post after reading them all. You guys did a good job at weeding out the trolls. I cant believe all the lunacy this fanbase shells out but it only seem to get worse and thats a shame.

I too, love the commentary with Rob and Kris, so great to hear the closeness they share and their sense of humor. Love them so much.

could whoever has the blanket please share with me? I have a very spoiled 85 lb dog who thinks that ANY blanket in the house is his and if you leave a spot he takes your blanket...I'm cold and he's all wrapped up in this huge pile of blankies...that he won't let me touch.

Absolutely, anyone can post a recipe.

Since some have asked about other kinds of Christmas recipes, we've decided the first 5 days will be just cookies. After that, post anything else that you might want to share. If your recipe has a history, please share that too.

I gotta say the hate is getting really old, and saying your doing it to defend someone who really doesn't need defending is still hate. It's just old. Stale.
Sad. Oh well, cant' wait for the ultimate cookie swap, gotta find some good recipes. thanks Rose.

  32. I've been married to my husband for 8 years and told him to shut up in a playful way more times than I can count. Weird that we still love each other and are still happily married. Funny how that works. I've also used the word "dude" and he's used it back to me as a joke. I'd be willing to bet Rob is razzing her for using the word often since he is a Brit and they are known for their proper language.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm only here for a quickie. Tons of stuff to do around here today.

Rob is looking good in black.. with the serious face. While I'm looking forward to seeing Bel Ami, I'm more anxious to see WFE :)

People who spend an inordinate amount of time obsessing over Rob and Kristen's personal lives are just sad and pathetic. And the commentary? I finally sat down and listened to it and it was adorable. The shut up? I can't believe people are latching onto that like it's some bat signal that those two don't like each other. At the very least.. it's two people who are comfortable enough to tease each other.. because.. and I know this will shock some people.. besides being boyfriend/girlfriend in a serious relationship.. they're also.. *gasp* friends!! I know I've teased a friend before and got told to shut up.. and I'm pretty sure they don't hate me.

She loves him and He loves her.. no mystery.. no bat signals.. no hidden meanings.. plain and easy to see.. AND hear.

And Tom? You're right Suse.. he's adorable. Beyond adorable. I'm looking forward to seeing other movies he's a part of. :)

Okay dudes (hehehehe) I have to go so I can get finished here and prepare for the epicness.

    Laters!

  40. hi rose, love the blog! Have no clue what a tome even is, I'll have to look it up, but like reading everything none the less. lol

the commentary is adorable. Kristen is a tough shell to crack publicly--try seeing if ANYONE else can publicly get kristen to giggle like a school girl. It's absolutely adorable how much he disarms that girl.

And I loved the "dude" signoff-how awkward doing the commenary in different countries. I thought the dude sign off was adorable, there's no other way to say bye on tape for millions to listen to without it being lame. LOL

  48. I guess there’s a part of me that also longs for the innocence that was Twilight. Everything was new and unguarded, as you said. I saw for the first time the other day an old interview that Kristen gave during Twilight promotion, where she gave her impressions of Rob from their first audition. She spoke positively of Rob’s approach to the character vs. the other actors that had read for the part – how his voice had been right, how he’d been soft spoken and kept his head down because he was nervous. It was really nice to hear. She could be open in her comments then. Given the chaos that surrounds them, we would never hear such an interview now. I understand why and support their need to keep things private, because comments like that, spoken now, would be put under a spotlight and dissected. That said, I miss, and am a little sad for, the loss of innocence.

What was fun about the Eclipse commentary is that they seemed more relaxed – whether it because they just can’t help but be themselves around each other, or because they are consciously more open about their relationship. Like others, I took the “shut up” comment to be simply something somebody would say to a good friend - someone you are very comfortable with. The tone was not harsh or unfriendly, but rather playful. I loved the laughing throughout and the subtle teasing. I particularly loved Kristen’s comments about Rob’s big toe – suggesting that her cast was the reason his toe was not right. Obviously, they are close enough that she knows something about his toe.

Rose, I share your melancholy over the fan base. When I first explored the internet for information on Twilight, I was surprised to find such a war of factions – a war that seems to have taken on a life of its own. It is almost the star attraction – not Robert and Kristen. It has become less about them, but rather a need for each side to be right and to win. Rob and Kristen have regrettably become the unwitting weapons of choice in the battle.

Thanks Rose, for this forum where the insanity of the fandoms can be kept to a minimum.

I love that pic of DuRob for BA. He looks absolutely gorgeous...and very serious! I can't wait for the movie to come out!! :)

The commentary was very cute and funny...I waited patiently for the DVD to watch it. It was worth it! They were adorable with their shut-up's and dude's, such comfortable banter between the two of them. I can't believe how some reacted to it! You can obviously tell that they were teasing each other. :)

Great post...hope everyone has a great evening. And would it be okay if I were to put up a recipe either tomorrow or over the weekend? I have a favorite cookie one. :)

Rose thank you so much for this post today. Rob looks amazing in every still I've seen from Bel ami. Can't wait for that movie. I also agree with you on the eclipse commentary..I found them to be adorable and very relaxed and comfortable with one another. There is a sweetness about the way they are with each other that just breaks my heart. I don't need them to make a statement about their love for one another because they so obviously do..and that makes me very happy.

  61. Thank you Rose for the thoughtful post. To be a living being is to be always changing. It is a good thing, that is what life is, it is meant to be.

    Loved the lines:

    "On the contrary...
I just want her to be happy.
I want her and Robert to be happy.
    (Forever and ever)"

    I second that!

Yes, no drama needed. It makes me smile to see them smiling.
I also appreciate and respect Rob and Kristen for keeping their relationship private and sacred to themselves.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Eclipse commentary with Rob and Kristen. So fun to hear them banter back and forth. Love their voices.

Roselanders who have not seen Pirate Radio...
must see! Sweet Thomas and rocking 60's music, plus the entire cast is wonderful!
Roselanders who have not read WFE or BA.....
    they are both must reads!

    Hugs to all dear Roselanders!

  62. Dear DK,

Enjoyed the sock reflections and song.
Here is a lovely poem for you that I have used with my students. The Spanish version, of course, is much more melodious and beautiful.

"Ode to My Socks" by Pablo Neruda
    (translated by Margaret Sayers Peden)

    Maru Mori brought me
    a pair
    of socks
    knitted with her own
    shepherd's hands,
    two socks soft as rabbits.
    I slipped
    my feet into them
    as if
    into
    jewel cases
    woven with threads of
    dusk and sheep's wool.

    Audacious socks,
    my feet became
    two woolen
    fish,
    two long sharks
    of lapis blue,
    shot
    with a golden thread,
    two mammoth blackbirds,
    two cannons,
    thus honored
    were
    my feet
    by
    these
    celestial
    socks.
    They were
    so beautiful
    that for the first time
    my feet seemed
    unacceptable to me,
    two tired old
    fire fighters,
    not worthy
    of the woven
    fire,
    of those luminous
    socks.

    Nonetheless,
    I resisted
    the strong temptation
    to save them
    the way schoolboys
    bottle
    fireflies,
    the way scholars
    hoard
    sacred documents.
    I resisted
    the wild impulse
    to place them
    in a cage
of gold and daily feed them
    birdseed
    and rosey melon flesh.
    Like explorers
    who in the forest
    surrender a rare
    and tender deer
    to the spit
    and eat it
    with remorse,
    I stuck out
    my feet
    and pulled on
    the
    handsome
    socks,
    and then my shoes.

    So this is
    the moral of my ode:
    twice beautiful
    is beauty
and what is good is doubly
    good
when it is a case of two
    woolen socks
    in wintertime.

    ************

Enjoy your warm toasty sock! : )

How lovely, a Neruda poem for me, about socks. That is a huge win-win in my book!

Appreciate your comments about my reflections (silly and off-handed as they may have been) along with the songs I post.

My admiration for you has greatly increased, with every compliment you've given me, naturally. ;)

  66. Simple

    Katy Perry shows why/listen here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGyqdB_hFxw

    You're such a poet
I wish I could be Wesley Willis
My words would flow like honey
    Sweet and laid on thick

    You're so edgy
You don't even need a rhyming dictionary
I wipe my hands on your jeans
    Cause they are more distressed

So they say you've got OCD
And they claim you can barely read
But you say don't bother me with all of your reality

But it could be so simple
    (you were thinking)
    Life should be that simple
    (Who would have thought it)

I wish it were just so simple
(don't know what you were thinking)
    But the point's been missed

    You've made a mess
    Who would have guessed
That it's as simple as it seems

    So what, you're a genius
But you've got a lot to learn

Like the time you lost your apartment
Cause you bought too much Vuitton

You park in a loading zone
You sleep with the lights all on

You cross your i's and dot your t's
    All it goes to show

That it could be so simple
    (you were thinking)
    Life should be that simple
    (Who would have thought it)

I wish it were just that simple
(don't know what you were thinking)
    The point's been missed

    We've made a mess
    Who would have guessed
That it's as simple as it seems

I'm not saying that it's a piece of cake
Just take a moment to reevaluate
    The possibilities

    The situations
    The opportunities
    That are waiting
    Oh, the possibilities

    You're in a haze
    It's just a phase
    You know this maze
Is as simple as it seems

    Thank you/ngocapella

  68. Photographs And Memories

    Jim Croce/listen here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48o5rCFFxh8

    Photographs and memories
Christmas cards you sent to me
All that I have are these
    To remember you

    Memories that come at night
    Take me to another time
    Back to a happier day
    When I called you mine

But we sure had a good time
When we started way back when
    Morning walks and bedroom talks
Oh, how I loved you then

    Summer skies and lullabies
    Nights we couldn't say goodbye
And of all of the things that we knew
    Not a dream survived

    Photographs and memories
All the love you gave to me
Somehow it just can't be true
That's all I've left of you

But we sure had a good time
When we started way back when
    Morning walks and bedroom talks
Oh, how I loved you then

    Thank you/Crinale819

  69. Hi Rose.....I would just like to tell you how much I love reading your thoughts and opinions. I come here several times a day just to look at the pics and see if anything's new. I get really tickled by your posts, and I am always sitting here nodding my head in agreement with everything you write. I feel the SAME WAY about these two lovely people, they are together, they BELONG together, and I just don't understand why people would waste time and energy hating someone they've never even met. LOL, maybe they're on the opposite end of the spectrum, and it's for the same reason I spend so much time and energy soaking up every last detail I can get about these two. I just love them. Keep doing what you're doing...we love it!!!
    Brenda :)

  71. Friends Will Be Friends

    Queen reminds us/listen here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAQ4sJZ5IsU&feature=related

    Another red letter day
    So the pound has dropped
    And the children are creating

    The other half ran away
    Taking all the cash
And leaving you with the lumber

Got a pain in the chest
    Doctors on strike
What you need is a rest

    It's not easy love
    But you've got
    Friends you can trust

    Friends will be friends
When you're in need of love
They give you care and attention

    Friends will be friends
    When you're through with life
    And all hope is lost

    Hold out your hands
    Cause friends will be friends
    Right till the end

    Now it's a beautiful day
    The postman delivered a letter
    From your lover

    Only a phone call away
You tried to track him down
    But somebody stole his number

    As a matter of fact
    Youre getting used to life
    Without him in your way

    Its so easy love cause
You got friends you can trust
    Friends will be friends

    Thank you/Fritzes007

  72. Funny, when I heard the commentary on the Eclipse DVD, the first thing I thought was this is EXACTLY the kind of banter I engage in with people I've been romantically involved with, including my hubby. Shut up, dude, etc, that was part of the joke! Lots of giggles, the kind of stuff you don't do with just friends. If there was any question, which there wasn't, there wouldn't be any longer for me.

It sounds like I may be one of the few that likes Rob's WFE looks more than Bel Ami. Both look good, but ugghh, those pics of WFE, thud.

Good night, Roselanders, the comments were tame tonight, so relaxing, I'm ready for bed!

  87. Grandma’s Epic Ginger Molasses Cookies

    2 cups flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp ground ginger
    1/2 tsp ground cloves
3/4 cup shortening (do not substitute with butter flavored Crisco)
    1 cup granulated sugar
3 Tbs molasses –regular not dark
    1 egg

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in small bowl.
Beat shortening 30 seconds with mixer. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
Add molasses and egg. Beat until combined. (for easier handling of molasses spray measuring spoon with non-stick spray). Add dry ingredients and beat on low speed until well-combined.
Shape into 1- 1 1/2 inch balls. Dip the balls into sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 10-12 minutes until light brown on bottom. Cool on rack. Makes 20-30 cookies depending on size of balls. Tops of the cookies have an attractive cracked appearance. Do not overbake as cookies will become hard, or as Grandma used to say they become milk or coffee dunkers.
