Rob and Kristen- Tome For The Holidays.

I hope the determined lady behind Rob isn't a FOAMER! (I think she might be!)

So quiet.
Good.
Bad.
Kinda boring.

I got a bit of shit about my epic date...
(bit of shit... I like it)
Not that I couldn't see where it was going.
As soon as you write about a specific time/date
People really want to attach something big to it.
I wrote a date.
I said Epic.
And it went from there.
I never said it was an epic Rob/Kristen date.
But...
That's what ended up being talked about.
Engagement announcement.
Wedding date.

It was a fascinating study on Newton's Law.
It was the quote I put in the beginning of yesterdays post.

"To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction."

Ain't that the truth?
I am a big fan of reaction.
(You may or may not have guessed that reading my blog)
I love watching how people react to rumors...
or even just everyday news.
The reaction is always more interesting than the action.

Was I being cryptic?
Most definitely.
I tend to do that with the "this post was brought to you by" part.
Sometimes I take a dig at someone who annoyed me.
Sometimes I give a shout out to someone I care about.
I don't usually name names...
And I rarely give details.
But if I'm doing any poking and pushing...
You can guarantee it will be for the Foamers benefit.
Which in turn gives me a reaction.
Which brings us back to the beginning.
See how that works?
:)

I don't know why... but Rob and Tom make me smile.

So.
What do we think is going on for Christmas?
Let's think about it.
Rob and Kristen head over to London.
Simple.
Do they go together?
Will Rob go over first and will Kristen follow after the 25th?
Or will they travel together?
Last year we didn't know Kristen was there until the
picture with the little girl came out.
Is that why they travel separately?
It's easier and less of a hassle to travel apart.
Will we see more pictures of Rob/Kristen/Tom in IOW?
Who knows.
I would be guessing Mr. Sturridge is going home for Christmas as well.
Tome is where the heart is, after all.

What happens (Not IF) WHEN Rob and Kristen are spotted
together sometime over the holidays in the UK?
Will Foam be spewed everywhere?
Will the classic excuses be thrown out there again?

"I go to London with male friends for the holidays ALL the time!"
"It doesn't mean anything if Tom is there."
"Kristen has no friends, Rob just feels sorry for her"
"PR! PR! If they show up together its PR!"

You know the drill.
Same tired excuses that we have heard for years now.
Yet.
Robert and Kristen continue to be together.
Again.

I look forward to the REACTIONS.
;)

MY GOD SHE IS GORGEOUS.
I just found this picture on Google.
JFC.
Kristen is beyond beautiful.
BEYOND.
I don't really have anything to add to that.
Well.. maybe one or two other things.

I love Kristen Stewart.
I do.
And no, she doesn't need me to defend her.
I'm sure she doesn't give a shit.
But I'm going to anyway.
Because I want to.
And because I adore Robert Pattinson
who so very obviously adores Kristen
I just want them to be happy.
And I think they are.

Think about how happy they will be in London for the Holidays.
Together.
As always.

This post is brought to you by the letter *T*

I miss my Tome.
I'm feeling a bit Tome-sick...

Bye for now.

  5. If Kristen shows up alongside Tom (and Rob) what are you going to say then? Just friends? Why does everyone think it's just Tom's job to just tag along on their "little dates?" He does have a life and it doesn't evolve around Rob. For all you know, he isn't even friends with Rob anymore. LOL last time I checked he hasn't been seen hanging out with him in a long time. And word is he has swapped Rob for Andrew Garfield. Wise choice.

  6. Soooooo, what does everyone think
about having an epic cocktail recipe day?

    Hugs to my friends.

  7. Honey,

Last time you checked? You are clueless.

Why don't you have a cookie? It might make you feel better.

  10. Susan,

I'm all for an epic cocktail event as long as we get to sample while we are epicing (new word?).

I sent you *hugs* on the last post so *hugs* again in case you missed them :D

Hi to Super too from the last post!

  11. Rose - I am sorry that you get so much shit from all of the <___________> people out there. (Please fill in the blank with your preferred expletive.) I, for one, LOVE your blog and being able to come here to Roseland. Thank you!!

(Gorgeous pictures today, by the way.)

Susan - Epic cocktail day sounds like a great idea. :)

  12. Golly Gee Yashira- thanks for proving my action/reaction point.
    Excellent example.

You come to my blog and read it. I don't chase you down and force you to do it. It's real simple.
    Don't.

  13. Yashira shut the fuck up, you know nothing about Rose, this blog and you have nothing to say we want to hear so shut the fuck up

  14. Dear Syd,

I feel that we have left you out of our Christmas event and that is not fair since you have become such a huge part of Roseland. A few of us have felt for a while that we should give you a special one of a kind gift.

Cookie recipes are wonderful if someone is a cook, however since you do not cook, then giving you cookie recipes is wasted and not fair to you.

We have thought long and hard about what would be an appropriate gift for someone as talented and wonderful as you, and each time we came up with an option something made us change our minds.

Yesterday after the Epic post you and Smitty did for Rose, some of us thought a Song dedication might be in order, however none of us is anywhere as talented as DK in that area of expertise and she had already posted the perfect song to you and Smitty for mentioning her in the poem. So...what was left to us?

I lay awake last night thinking, nothing came to mind until about 3 AM when I sat up in bed and said "TA DA!!!!!!! I think I have it!"

Not wanting to give away too many details and spoil your surprise, let's just say that if we can get a Basket that large through Customs then you should expect a "Special" Christmas gift to arrive on your doorstep soon. When it is opened...I hope you remember the work that went into the planning of this surprise and say "TA DA! What a one of a kind, unique, ageless...gift" We all hope that you enjoy this gift with a drink, might we suggest a Martini with extra olives? It is a gift that is sure to make you wish...and say..."There's no place like Tome" =)

  15. Susan here's my new favorite drink

    Peppermint Stinger:

    1 1/2 oz Brandy
1 1/2 oz White Creme De Menthe
    splash of peppermint Schnapps

Shake well with ice, pour into martini glass serve with peppermint stick for garnish

  16. Yashira,

People like YOU give us sane fans a bad name. Period. Chew on that babe. As usual you all reading into EVERYTHING, decoding things that are not your business, having a "time line" on someone's life. THAT is sick, THAT is no boundaries. I love and support Rob and Kristen myself, but I know my boundaries and if I were them, I would be very upset if supposble fans watched my life under a microscope, Like the dam CIA and IMO that is pretty much in the SAME class as the haters.

Please, leave Rose alone okay? The girl has enough BS thrown at her. She doesn't have to check with you when she posts it's not her fault you all are under another fantasy impression, Make assumptions nor does she need to your approval on anything. If you do not like this blog, do not read it. Easy.

    Rose,

I know you dont need me to stick up for you, but my "reaction" is OK I hope? ;)

  18. I really love the idea of R/K together in London for the hollydays, but I know they will have a short break for hollydays, so may be K will stay in LA with her family, she will want to stay with them for sure, and R will want to be with his family too. So may be they will spend the hollydays apart this year, that is OK, because they will be together soon enough. Happy Cristmas to you your family Rose!!! :)

  20. Rose,
When I first discovered Twilight and Rob, I floated around to different sites. I stumbled on your blog and what I loved about it was how you defended Kristen. So I just quit going to those other places. I just didn't want to hear the crap. I love that you still defend her. That picture of Kristen is absolutely stunning!
Thank you for the translation of your quote. Yashira, thank you for the demonstration of how it works.
How fortunate for us that you have incredible stamina, Rose. Appreciate all you do!

  27. Because it wouldn't be the holidays without some kind of gingerbread :)

It's Martha Stewart's recipe... so if you're not growing your own cacao tree in your back yard, and making your own chocolate, you're screwed. hehehe.. just kidding. But some of her recipes are seriously crazy.

    Here goes!

    Chewy Chocolate-Gingerbread Cookies

    Ingredients

    7 ounces best-quality semisweet chocolate
    1 1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
    1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
    1/2 cup dark-brown sugar, packed
    1/4 cup unsulfured molasses
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 cup granulated sugar

    Directions

    1. Line two baking sheets with parchment. Chop chocolate into 1/4-inch chunks; set aside. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and cocoa.

    2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and grated ginger until whitened, about 4 minutes. Add brown sugar; beat until combined. Add molasses; beat until combined.

    3. In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in 1 1/2 teaspoons boiling water. Beat half of flour mixture into butter mixture. Beat in baking-soda mixture, then remaining half of flour mixture. Mix in chocolate; turn out onto a piece of plastic wrap. Pat dough out to about 1 inch thick; seal with wrap; refrigerate until firm, 2 hours or more.

    4. Heat oven to 325 degrees. Roll dough into 1 1/2- inch balls; place 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Refrigerate 20 minutes. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake until the surfaces crack slightly, 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Love it! There is all kinds of relevance in the Wiz of Oz and I think you have mentioned other things... unfortunately I cant think...maybe there was a reference to the one of the Witches in a previous post? heh

  31. Thank you Rose for the beautiful words and pictures.
Kristen is truly stunning, a natural beauty, and the guys are absofreakinglutely handsome. (Love that word from RM.)

Thank you again Smitty and Syd for the very finely composed poetry yesterday. So enjoyed it, especially the touch at the end. : )

    Rose, I bookmarked this blog site the day that I ran across it, on November 22, 2009;
the title you gave that day's blog post was...

"Is Kristen Spending Christmas in London?"

    You wrote,

"It will be most interesting to see
where Kristen and Rob turn up in the future...
    Together."

    Empasis....on ....."Together"!

    Well, we have seen plenty.
They have turned up so many places around the world......"together". Couples do that! They love to be "together". They love to be with family, friends, and celebrate..."together".
May the upcoming holiday time be a blessed, happy, private time for them "together" and also may they have plenty of quality time with their family and friends out of the eye of the prying media.

    Hugs to y'all!
    BBL after supper.

To my Snowpals around the world:

    (Dashing Through The Snow)
    Jingle Bells

    Warren Woods-Tower Michigan Choir:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCr4ZQ-7eMo

    Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
    O'er the fields we go
    Laughing all the way

    Bells on bob tails ring
    Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
    A sleighing song tonight

    Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
    Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

    A day or two ago
    I thought I'd take a ride
    And soon Miss Fanny Bright
    Was seated by my side

The horse was lean and lank
    Misfortune seemed his lot
We got into a drifted bank
    And then we got upsot

    Jingle bells, jingle bells
    Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

    Jingle bells, jingle bells
    Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

    Thank you/volleysue

  35. SueBee - An epic cocktail day sounds just the thing after endless Christmas shopping,I'll have to think which is my favourite....

Yashira - What Smitty said! Rose has clearly touched a nerve somewhere to provoke that reaction. She's good at that, it's why we love her :)

Honey - Buy a kindle or an xbox or something, you need a life, cupcake.

Oh also feel free to post any cookie recipes you might have...yes...yes.. I know we're all fat...all of that insulting stuff...but feel free anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Honey, I'm trying to understand your motives. Are you here because you honestly believe what you are saying and you feel the need to try and save us from our “delusions”? Or are you here just to cause trouble and stir the pot ? The thing is see….you’re not achieving your goal, whatever it is. Nothing you say will sway anyones opinions here – because your arguments are generally ill-conceived and illogical. At the same time, you’re not being successful at stirring the pot – people just look to you for comic relief – that’s all. So, why persist? Really??

    ReplyDelete
  40. Freddie - You're absolutely right actually.I do actually burst out laughing when I read one of Honey's idiotic posts.

  49. Two more recipes that are no bake for those who want something very easy, but yummy.

    Rum Yums
    Yield: approx. 3 dozen

    2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
(put them into a large zip lock bag and use your rolling pin to crush)
    2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup very finely chopped pecans
    4 tablespoons cocoa
    4 tablespoons light corn syrup
    1/4 cup rum
    1 cup granulated sugar

In a large bowl combine crushed wafers, confectioners' sugar, pecans, cocoa, corn syrup and rum. Shape into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Eat and enjoy!
Of course you can substitute bourbon or any unsweet spirit instead of the rum.

    No-Bake Apricot Coconut Yummies
    Yield: approx. 4 dozen

1 1/2 cups dried apricots, ground in food grinder
    2 cups shredded coconut
    2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional, but I put pecans in almost everything)
    Confectioners' sugar

Combine apricots, coconut, milk and pecans. Blend until well mixed. Shape into small balls and roll in confectioners' sugar; refrigerate until firm.

    Tomorrow I'll share:
Melters and also Cashew Potato Chip Cookies : )

Troll cookies would be soooo cute. They'd have those big noses and beady eyes and those smiles with the gaps in the teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL and the hair...can't forget that hair

    ReplyDelete
  57. The hair was always the best part. What would a troll cookie hair be? Coconut, chow mein noodles, licorice?

    ReplyDelete
  58. HAPPY TROLL COOKIES

3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1 c. rolled oats
    3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda

Place by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets, flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2-3 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. Yield 3 dozen cookies.

  59. Penny - Would we have to sit under a bridge to eat them?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I say we use licorice but the red not the black...

    Nice Tracy

    ReplyDelete
  61. I thought that said Happy Trail Cookies...LOL.

That might be some interesting eating.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Don't forget green.....Lots of green sprinkles because our trolls are green with envy!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Rhonda - I’m actually from “the great white north” – Canada. Funny thing is that my area doesn’t have any snow yet. Buffalo to the south of us got socked under, and if you go 45 minutes north of where I am, they have a foot of snow. My area sits in a nice little bubble that tends to have better weather. Fine with me.

Kami – were you hoping for "Troll House" cookies??

    ReplyDelete
  64. Green is a good idea but I say we use Yellow instead to match the stripe down their backs.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Angelica,

Help me here. When the troll is trolling under the bridge who is on the bridge? I forget, really.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm not Angelica but I know...I know...ooo ooo call on me Miss Penny....

When the troll is under the bridge...the BILLY GOAT is on it..Oooo I see now...Honey is the Billy Goat

  67. I like the idea of yellow.....It equates to cowardice!

  68. Freddie,

I've never been to Canada but it is on my list of places to visit. My uncle used to go hunting there every year and the pictures I've seen are beautiful.
I love snow but we don't deal with it all that well around here.

And thank you I am having a great evening. I finished my Christmas shopping today!!

  82. Angelica,

What is going on with the University fees over there? Is this going to affect international students do you know?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Penny - It's crazy, my teacher niece and I have been raging about this today. The possibility of increased tuition fees has come up before but it's looking inevitable now. I'm not sure how it would affect international students as I don't know whether they would have been given the concessions granted to UK students, I'd have to ask her.Whatever the government say though, it will affect kids from poorer families because even with student loans, her university education still cost me about £70,000, taking everything into acount.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Angelica,

Higher education is becoming unattainable for everyone except the very wealthy or the poor over here. An education at a major public university costs about $100,000 when it's all said and done. At private universities it's probably double that. The poor get financial aid and scholarships but the middle class kids whose parents attempted to save for their education get no help.

    The more I'm with you,
    The more I can see;
    My love is yours alone.

    You came and captured
    A heart that was free;
    Now there's nothing
    I can call my own.

    Everything I have is yours;
    you're part of me.
    Everything I have is yours,
    my destiny.

    I would gladly give
    the sun to you
If the sun were only mine.

    I would gladly give
    the earth to you
    And the stars that shine.

    Everything that I possess,
    I offer you,
    That my dream of happiness
    come true.

    I'd be happy just
    to spend my life,
Waiting at your beck and call.

    Dan Fogelberg finds heart/listen:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxB2jUErffU&feature=related

    This life is heartless
    and it's rarely just
    Full of sad betrayals
    and misplaced trust

And it can suck your spirit
    just as dry as dust
    And steal your soul
    if you let it.

    Oh, every life contains
    its sorrows and pains
    Its stormy weather
    and its rough terrains

    You watch me wrestle
    with my length of chain
    And smile so bravely
    as you tell me.

    Don't lose heart,
    Don't lose heart
    Though it feels
    like yours will fall apart
    Just remember when
    the road gets dark
I will always be beside you.

    I've spent my life
    pursuing fortune and fame
    Chasing rainbows
    in a shadow game

And I'm not sure what I've lost
    is worth the gain
Or why my soul remains so restless.

    You've seen me stumble,
    Lord, you've seen me fall.

    You've shared my triumphs
    and you've seen me crawl.
    And when I think that
    I could lose it all

    You give me courage
    and you tell me.

    Don't lose heart,
    Don't lose heart

    Though it feels like
    yours will fall apart
    Just remember when
    the road gets dark,

I will always be beside you.

    here's one for you.

Abba - Thank you for the music

I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
'cause everyone listens when I start to sing
    I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud
    So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
    What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
    For giving it to me
Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk
She says I began to sing long before I could talk
And I've often wondered, how did it all start?
Who found out that nothing can capture a heart
    Like a melody can?
Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan
I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!

  103. For Everyman

    Jackson Browne dreaming/listen:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr-hqAjdNrU

Everybody I talk to is ready to leave
With the light of the morning
They've seen the end coming down long enough to believe
That they've heard their last warning

    Standing alone
Each has his own ticket in his hand
    And as the evening descends
    I sit thinking 'bout Everyman

Seems like I've always been looking for some other place
    To get it together
Where with a few of my friends I could give up the race
    And maybe find something better

    But all my fine dreams
Well thought out schemes to gain the motherland
Have all eventually come down to waiting for Everyman

    Waiting here for Everyman--
Make it on your own if you think you can
If you see somewhere to go I understand

    Waiting here for Everyman--
    Don't ask me if he'll show --
    Baby I don't know

Make it on your own if you think you can
Somewhere later on you'll have to take a stand
Then you're going to need a hand

Everybody's just waiting to hear from the one
Who can give them the answers
And lead them back to that place in the warmth of the sun

    Where sweet childhood still dances
    Who'll come along
And hold out that strong and gentle father's hand?

Long ago I heard someone say something 'bout Everyman

    Waiting here for Everyman--
Make it on your own if you think you can
If you see somewhere to go I understand

I'm not trying to tell you that I've seen the plan
Turn and walk away if you think I am--

But don't think too badly of one who's left holding sand
He's just another dreamer, dreaming 'bout Everyman

    Thank you/stampbeugel

  104. Good Morning! Roselanders!

DK I've always enjoyed the Dan. Fogelberg song. Thanks so much.

Finally got my Eclipse DVD yesterday. Still haven't had a chance to watch it. Also I think my laptop may have finally came. UPS left a note Friday. It required a signature and somehow my son and mother who were both home did not hear them. Found out UPS isn't open on Saturday. I'm Fedex and working 6 days a week now. Where is the justice? I just want my laptop, it's been 2 months!

Twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl, twirl,
smile, smile, smile, smile, smile, smile, smile,
happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy.
(Private, we know...... but thank you for the lovely Christmas (holiday) gift!)

Life is good. Enjoy what you have every moment. Being able to be together with family at the holidays is such a blessed time. So happy and twirling that for many people, that can take place!

    Hugs y'all!

Linda, so glad that the laptop is almost in your hands. That has been an unbelievable amount of turnaround time for the repair. Again, late congratulations on your anniversary. Thank you for the hard work you do with the deliveries and so much driving. We appreciate it! Especially during this time of the year when you are also one of the official North Pole elves.

    OK, off to work!

  106. Happy Sunday Roseland

I apologize for the lateness of this recipe..I just have not had time until now. If you want to serve this, you will be the hit of the party, I promise! A Paula Deen signature dessert from her restaurant Lady and Sons in Savannah, Georgia...QVC was selling one round cake for $40.00 each ..you can get 2 round cakes for probably $10.00 worth of ingredients!

GOOEY BUTTER CAKE...This can be baked in either a 9x12 baking pan or divided between 2 round cake pans..350/50 minutes...try not to overcook it..you want the center to be slightly gooey..lightly greased pans

CRUST..One pkg of yellow cake mix...1 egg...1 stick melted butter
(MIX AND PRESS INTO PREPARED CAKE PAN)
FILLING...1 8oz cream cheese softened...2 eggs...1 stick melted butter...1 tsp vanilla...1 16 oz box confectioners sugar...BEAT CR CHEESE UNTIL SMOOTH, ADD EGGS, VANILLA, ADD BUTTER TIL SMOOTH, ADD CONFECTIONERS SUGAR TIL SMOOTH
STIR IN FILLING OF YOUR CHOICE...THEN BAKE.

THIS IS THE FUN PART...my suggestion is add 7-8 oz of shredded coconut OR 1 20 oz can crushed pineapple to the filling OR you can use a chocolate cake mix then pour chocolate chips and nuts on top of the filling OR YOU COULD USE A CARROT CAKE MIX AND ADD CHOPPED NUTS AND CARROTS TO THE FILLING OR YOU COULD ADD A 15OZ CAN OF PUMPKIN TO THE FILLING ALONG WITH SOME CINNAMON AND NUTMEG!!!!!!!

There are no words to describe this cake...it is soooo goooood!!! ENJOY

  107. Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I've missed Roseland the past few days. I was all excited about the cookie exchange...until I remembered that I'm in the middle of a calorie-counting situation...lol! (30 lbs gone so far!). Anyway, I just decided to keep busy with other things as reading yummy recipes wasn't really conducive to that plan during the last few days...which also happened to be my
regularly scheduled 'craving anything sweet' days;).

I'm all good now and enjoying scanning through all the recipes and looking forward to more. I'll take Christmas Eve and day off from counting calories and look forward to trying some of them.

Loved the poem from the other day, and of course, Rose, always love your posts:)

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Thanks for all of the recipes ladies...it's been fun copying them and deciding which I want to cook first.

Ok...I have debated back and forth all night long as to whether or not I was going to comment on something and I finally decided I would.

I had someone tell me recently that I should just "Die already" for something I supposedly did, it upset me that someone could feel that words I said that they didn't like was a reason I should just die.

To see someone else told to "Die", even though the person being told that is a fuckwit, and say nothing would be hypocritical of me.

Words when used as weapons can leave scars not only on the people who hear them but the people who say them.

    ReplyDelete
  109. jentoo,

Congratulations on the 30 lbs, that is spectacular. I know you've been going through some trying times and to still be able to accomplish that is amazing. You deserve a little splurge on the day.

    Kami,

That was very well said and, I think, needed. Sometimes our words get away from us when tied up in emotions and we don't realize the impact.

    ReplyDelete
  110. For months we've been trying to get a certain someone with mutiple moniker personality disorder to refrain from posting untrue filfth about someone on this blog, to no avail. NONE.

I have always believed that words once thrown out into the world cannot be taken back and one should try very hard to be gracious in disagreements BUT there are times when you you just can't.

People who willingly and joyfully I might add go about attempting to belittle and insult others to shure up their own insecurities need a good verbal blasting on occasion.

Althought it may have seemed harsh, I didn't have a problem with it. You don't like what is said at Rose's blog and you don't like her opinions, then you have several options available to you, the main one being don't come here..........It's very simple really.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Familiar with the troll. Nothing works with them.

Have no problem whatsoever with slapping the troll upside the head and all other people who bad mouth our friends..read my response to Yashira..Just saying.
Words are not cause for death wishes.

I understand why it was said to that person and I think the world of the person who made the die comment. They love their friends dearly and will defend them to the end. That is a wonderful and beautiful trait in such a wonderful and beautiful person.

However, to say when someone wished me dead for something I said, that a reaction like that over words was uncalled for and wrong, then to say nothing when it happens to someone I don't care for would make me a hypocrite.

Reactions, and counter reactions all lead to whatever we make of them. Touche, Rose!

    I will remember you
    Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
    Weep not for the memories

Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad
How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me,
    I wanna be the one

    I will remember you
    Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
    Weep not for the memories

    I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much
but we cannot say a word
    We are screaming inside,
    but we can't be heard

    But I will remember you
    Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
    Weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you,
    but more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose

    Once there was a darkness,
    deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had,
    Oh you gave me light

    And I will remember you
    Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
    Weep not for the memories

    And I will remember you

It's still snowing here, and I'm loving it.. but that's because I'm in my house with a warm cozy fire going.

    Snow Cookies

    Ingredients
    1 cup butter
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 eggs
    2 1/4 cups flour
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. Cream butter and sugar together. Add in egg, dry ingredients and vanilla. Mix well. Refrigerate for a while if dough is too warm.

    2. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut in shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do not allow to brown. Cool on wire rack and decorate if desired.

This dough rolls best when really cold. Cut into snowflake shapes and dust with powdered sugar, leave plain, or cover with a royal icing and colored sugar sprinkles.. just whatever works for you. :)

  117. Mexican Wedding Cookies

1/2 cup butter, at room temperature (1 stick)
    1/2 cup shortening
    2 cups confectioners' sugar, divided
    1-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup finely chopped pecans
    Preheat oven to 325°F.

Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, shortening and 1 cup of the confectioners' sugar in a large bowl. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.

Gradually add the flour and salt. Use the mixer for the first cup of flour, and then work in the remaining cup of flour and the finely chopped pecans by hand with a wooden spoon. Dough will be stiff.

Form dough into balls (1 level tablespoon each). Place on an ungreased baking sheet, 1 inch apart. Bake at 325°F on middle oven rack until light golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.

While cookies are still warm, place the remaining cup of confectioner's sugar in a shallow dish. Roll the cookies in sugar to coat completely. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

Here is a very old recipe for date lovers.

    Date Nut Bars
    Ingredients
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 cups chopped dates
2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

    2 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    confectioners' sugar

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, dates and nuts. Mix together the eggs, butter and vanilla. Add to the dry ingredients and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened (batter will be very stiff).

Spread in a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool bars on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

Hi, Linda, I'm doing the usual, blabbing, writing on here, drinking coffee (so far), still in my new chic, red ruffled pj's (why bother to get dressed?), and rocking with youtube songs.

    Thanks for asking.

You're the busy elf we count on every time this year, how's that going?

    ReplyDelete
  129. @Kay
I am very jealous of you being able to make standing snow angels, no matter how tall or short you are.

Matter of fact, I have never even considered making them, before you mentioned doing so. Clever, clever, Kay.

I'm going find me some stand up snow to make my own and then I'll be happy like you.

First, I will take off these chic pj's and put on some warm clothing, don't worry, not going to ruin my Lauren jammies for any snow angel, here or in heaven.

    The elf business is busy!
I've enjoyed all these recipes. You and Kami had a great idea!

Kay just once I would love to have that much snow!
We had enough for me to get a face washing!

  131. Hi everyone! **waves**
Don't always catch up with so many when I peek in. Here are two more cookie recipes. These two do need oven time, but are still quite easy. Tomorrow I have a more complicated bar cookie that I will share.

The snow sounds wonderful and beautiful.....but, .....I really do not miss it. I have become a cold weather wimp.

    Cashew Potato Chip Cookies

    3/4 cup margarine
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup crushed potato chips
1/2 cup chopped salted cashew nuts
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    Cream margarine and sugar.
Add flour, potato chips, cashews and vanilla.
Mix well; mixture will be crumbly at first, but will eventually stick together.
Pinch off pieces and roll into 1 inch balls.
Flatten balls with fork and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes, until slightly golden around edges. Note: Watch carefully so cookies do NOT get too brown around edges.
Makes crunchy, but not too sweet cookies.
    Yield: approx. 4 dozen

    Melters

    1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    3/4 cup cornstarch
    1 cup flour
    1/3 cup confectioners' sugar

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In medium bowl cream butter; add cornstrarch, flour and sugar.
    Beat until creamy.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet
    ( make small cookies).
Bake approximately 12 minutes. Watch carefully, better if not allowed to brown.
    Yield: about 4 dozen
These cookies do melt in your mouth.

  133. Kami
I'm with you...with the Baklava, wine and fire, and would be in reality, but the Baklava at the store looked too manufactured and not homemade at all.

There is a slight chance that I would fly over to see you, if you have the right kind of Baklava and wine, what do you say?

    ReplyDelete
  134. Unfortunately I have no Baklava nor wine...I just WISH I did

Hey Kay, I love the standing snow angels story..

Hi Wildhart, and Oliva, sorry if I missed anyone I'm watching the cowboys and it ain't pretty...

    ReplyDelete
  135. @Wild
They (read me) don't call me the red-hot mama without cause (pj's are red).

Why the other day, I even tried to lure Syd to the blog, by telling him to come to me, his Little Mama.

I left off the "red-hot" part, out of modesty concerns (for Syd).

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hi! Olivia!

I like potato chips and cashews. Never thought of making a cookie with them.

    ReplyDelete
  137. @olivia, olivia

My heart stopped when I saw your latest recipe!

Cashews, potato chips and cookies, all in one recipe, done took me to heaven, and back again, so happy, and Hallelujah.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Hi Kami and Linda!
They are quite good, a change from all the sweet cookies.
I just watched Annie Hall on TCM. I hadn't seen it in ages and was surprised to see on the credits at the end that Ralph Lauren did the costumes for the film. I totally forgot that the "Annie Hall look" was by Lauren.

    ReplyDelete
  139. @Kami

If the Cowboys don't look pretty today and you have a roaring fire going, maybe my flying by (as FGM), them and you, would save the day?

FGM is willing to fly into the storm for Kami and the Cowboys!

(Even without Baklava & Greek (has to be) wine.)

    ReplyDelete
  140. DK

I'm sure Syd will agree you are red hot! I don't see how he can resist with the red PJ's!

    Kami
Sorry about the Cowboys. I feel your pain as I'm a Titan fan.

    ReplyDelete
  141. @olivia
That's right Lauren, Annie Hall, and DK, all in the same place, and time, on Roseland.

Love your upbeat comments, and wonder if you are A Course In Miracles student, as I am?

    ReplyDelete
  142. Perhaps Pegasus can give you a ride over to keep you in the "Ride 'em Cowboys" theme.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Linda, we're looking better than I first thought..game's tied.

I feel your Titans pain..I'm a fan of their too..have been most of my life...I always say..they can change their names and uniforms but their still the Oilers..lol

    ReplyDelete
  144. @Wild
One free-for-all, a little bit tipsy night (me, maybe Syd?), I told Syd on the blog, in a comment, that I missed and loved him.

He answered me that he was glad I missed him! Boo, hoo, what a shutdown for Dreamer.

But I forgive him his lapse in emoting, as I've created another, new fantasy about him instead.

Makes the days go by, some days.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Olivia

Annie Hall haven't seen that in ages. Her look was so distinctive.

I watched Lord of the Rings today. I love that movie and the books. I can lose myself in Tolkien's world.
    My word is cotom hahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  146. @Kami
I'll accept your thanks now, as I just flew over the Cowboys, in time, so the game could be tied. Ahemm.

    ReplyDelete
  149. DK, one of my best friends in Michigan has spent a lifetime reading a variety of material including C in M, Edger Cayce, and much, much more. I myself have enjoyed a number of years in the past doing yoga, reading quite a bit by Eknath Easwaren, Thich Nhat Hanh, Stephen Levine and a few others. I still meditate and find that life is just much nicer when I focus on the positive and stay in the moment as much as I can even though real life doesn't work that way.

Linda, absolutely loved the Lord of the Rings series. Tolkien was a master craftsmen with the English language and imagination. I am so excited that the Hobbit is finally being made.

    ReplyDelete
  150. DK

Haha I think you are the wild one here. What have you been up to with that wand? Lol

    ReplyDelete
  151. @olivia
    I knew it!
Recognizing a fella soul isn't all that hard (we are all such).

Tolkien, a grand master of unity and light-making, and glimpses of real life moments that work, and play.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Me too Linda...I remember when Bum Phillips was the coach of the Oilers and Kenny Stabler was the QB. I was a little girl but I remember.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Olivia

You are so right about Tolkien and his language skills. Also you can see how WW2 affected him so intensely. I'm looking forward to The Hobbit. I hope they have finally worked out the financial issues. I love Ian as Gandolph.@

    ReplyDelete
  154. @Wild
Oh, to be up to with the wand.

Rather the wand does its own thing and I try to be fully present to spread its work.

The wand has been working with Mother Nature to heal the environment, feed the poor, heal the sick, change minds and hearts, and so much else, you wouldn't believe it.

You can see why sometimes our visitors without love to share on Roseland, stick around until the wand stops by to wave them away, in peace and with love.

Wand's been too busy to wave much at them, alas. So they came en masse hoping for a wave, I'm sure.

Don't worry, the Magic Mirror is always on Roseland, and reflecting back true loveliness, if it is present and accounted for.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Ahhhh...the Oilers in the 70's. That takes me back too....Kenny Stabler, the Snake, & don't forget Earl Campbell and 'Love Ya Blue'....lol! That was during the time I lived in Houston:)

    ReplyDelete
  156. Linda, I read that Peter Jackson has taken over the production and that it will be back in New Zealand. There were problems, but I believe the financial and production related roadblocks have been removed. Yes, Ian is Gandolph incarnate.

I am presently waiting for The King's Speech with Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter to make it to Austin. I am pretty sure it will not make it to my local theatre.

    DK ?

    ReplyDelete
  157. Kami

Ouch! We're showing our age! Lol I just wish Bud Adams would shell out some cash for a few key spots on the team. It just seems every year is a lesson in untried rookies and hoping they will gel into a winning team. Did you see Jerry Jones on 60 minutes tonight?

    DK
one of my friends keeps a notebook by her bed and writes down her dreams and analyzes them.I'm not that dedicated.

    DK
Your wand and you are the heart and soul of Roseland.

    ReplyDelete
  159. @olivia

If you were asking me (DK?), I say yes, definitely for Ian as Gandolph.

Now a "yes" is not enough to express how much I want to see Colin in that king's speech, true events came to pass, movie-let's say "Insanely yes" for how much.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Thanks, Linda! And I think I owe you a late Happy Anniversary? I'll have my 20th on the 22nd.

    ReplyDelete
  161. @Wild
Not me either, no notebook or analyzing dreams.

Why last night, I dreamed about my ex-lover who lied to me, a new car that broke down completely right away, cause it was really 24 years old, about which the above mentioned ex, lied to me.

No, I don't need to figure out that dream. It was a nightmare sure enough, and apparently I still love the ex-lover, to even listen to him about anything.

Also, I should know better about cars and years, but this sillybilly doesn't know diddily squat of cars, ta, da!

Bella has nothing on me, with her lack of knowledge or interest in cars! To think that we both take credit for being so obtuse. It's unbelievable, but it's all fantasy, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Jentoo, please accept my congratulations also. Your hard work and determination have most definitely paid off with wonderful results. Wishing you continued success.

Enjoy the evening everyone. Off to read for a while, then have an early morning tomorrow.

Thank-you and congratulations to you also! 20 years is a major accomplishment.

  165. @Wildhart007
Linda, you are kind to say what you did about me and Roseland.

Truly I only reflect (with the Magic Mirror) the heart and soul of all on Roseland, and bask in its glow because I am ever idle and able to bask continually.

About the getting to work as the weather allows-ITA.

My family does not get that either and are trying to pinpoint me down to an actual minute for arrival, and I have the farthest to drive, and worst weather area.

Get real peeps, and make it simple, so spot on, Linda.

    How Kind Of You

Paul McCartney is there for us:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1Kp_SDZ8QM

How kind of you to think of me
When I was out of sorts
It really meant a lot to be
    In someone else's thoughts

    Someone else's mind
    Someone else as kind
    As you.

    The thoughtfulness you showed
    has made
    A difference in my life
    I wont forget how unafraid
You were that long, dark night

I thought that I was lost
    I thought I'd never find
    A someone quite as kind
    As you

I thought my faith had gone
    I thought there couldn't be
    A someone who was there
    For me

How kind of you to stick by me
    During the final bout
    And listen to the referee
    As I was counted out

I thought my time was up
    I thought I'd never find
    A someone quite as kind
    As you

I thought my faith had gone
    I thought it couldn't be
    A someone who was there

    It's all been said before
But what was I to do,
    Darling here's the truth
    I've never found the words
    For a masterpiece like you

You say I can be cold
    Emotions cast from steel
Well, I might not bare my soul
But this is how I feel

I hate to see you cry
I love to see you laugh
I keep it in my mind
    My favorite photograph

    I take it out sometimes
    To see you smile

    And it's okay
    O-k-hay...

    It's all been said before
But what was I to do
    I tripped over your smile
I fell in love with you

You broke my heart of stone
    You solved my mystery
    I don't need all I own
I just need you with me

I hate to see you cry
I love to see you laugh
I keep it in my mind
    My favorite photograph

    I take it out sometimes
    To see you smile
    It's okay

    When my body gets old
    And my body turns cold
    And the great hand
Wipes the sun from the sky

Like a tear from your eye
    and the clocks stop
    when everything passes
    the world's left in ashes

    I'll still have your smile!
