Rob and Kristen- No Exit ✔

Flawed Perfection.

I love Robert's profile.
 A lot.
I seem to gravitate towards these kinda pictures...
(OK, next to the walking...)

Is it weird that they are all from the same side?

ANYway.

Random Thoughts.

1. Rob is going to be VERY busy in the coming weeks
doing Promotion for WFE.
Lots of TV
Lots of Rob laughing
Lots of Rob pulling his hand nervously thru his hair...
Lots
Of
Rob.

So I thought it would be good to write down
all the appearances (so far)
So that we don't MISS a thing.

(Thanks to Robstenation for doing all the work)

WFE Promo Schedule

April 17- WFE NYC Premiere
April 18 - Live With Regis and Kelly
April 20 - The Ellen Show
April 20 - Jimmy Kimmel Live
April 27 - WFE Premiere in Berlin
April 28 - WFE Premiere in Paris
May 3 - WFE UK Premiere in London
May 6 - WFE Premiere in Sydney

I will put this somewhere on the blog...
and it will be updated if there are any changes.

Yeah.
Pretty much.
Howling.
Whining.
Screeching.
Snarling.

I have to admit to finding it all very amusing.
I was told yesterday that people were 'losing their minds'
over the Elle interview.
That Rob is again...
Doing more 'non-denial denials'

(You know... the super secret code that Rob
sends out to the people who hate Kristen...
Because that's SO Rob.)

Thing is?
They are clinging to the reporters speculations
(turns out it was a guy... who da thunk?)
As the "we know what Rob is thinking" gospel.
Gotcha.
How is that any different than the lunatic fringe
clasping Ted or Lainey to their bosom?
It's not.

Rob once again... didn't mention his relationship with Kristen.
You can interpret that any way you want to, I guess...
Which is what everyone does anyway.
(super/sekrit/nonnie/messages aside)
It's really 'Not His Job'
But it is the reporters job to get readers.
Just like Ted and Lainey
and the other endless gossip rags/blogs out there.
Does it really matter what some random reporter thinks?
Nope.
But then if all you got is some Elle reporter who probably
didn't even meet Rob in person...
And some renowned UK gossip rag to bolster your
whole 'exit strategy'...
Well.
I'm truly laughing on the inside.
Really.
I am.

I'll be your man... I'll understand. I'll do my best to take good care of you...

You'll be my Queen. I'll be your King. And I'll be your Lover too...

And You'll look at me, With eyes that see... and we'll melt into each others arms.

You'll be my Queen. I'll be your King. And I'll be your Lover... Too.

God I love how Rob sings that song.
It is my absolute favorite.
Until he comes out with his own version of
"Falling in love for the last time"
Heh.

Just because.

Kristen's birthday is tomorrow...
I don't usually post on the weekends...
But of course
Tomorrow I MUST make an exception.
I adore Kristen Stewart.
I do.

So let's see what tomorrow will bring... shall we?

This post is brought to you by the number *21

21 for the number of years old
Kristen will be.

21 for the number of
Exit strategies that have been going
on for months now.

21 for the number of brain cells
the Foamers have.

21 is the average Foamer IQ

21 zillion times that
PR has been used as an excuse to explain
why Rob and Kristen keep showing up together.

21 thousand ways that Robert will show
Kristen just how much he loves and adores her.

21 times I will laugh at your lunacy
in 21 seconds.

Bwahahahahahahaha.

Bye for now

  1. Cute post and gorgeous pictures, Rose....I always like being able to spend my lunch in Roseland. :)

Have a good day and wonderful weekend everyone! TGIFF! :D

  2. Thanks for so much jawline in this post! We're all pretty fond of it around here.

I think these "exit strategy" enthusiasts need to take one giant leap for mankind off the deep end.

My day just got better since I got tickets to see Mumford and Sons in June. Pretty excited.

But on that note of excitement gotta get back to work. Have a fantastic rest of the day everyone.

  3. Hi Rose -- finding out the writer was a guy makes the stupid comment a lot easier to understand -- but no less stupid. But clearly stupidity has no gender. Not to mention it makes the rest of the interview more than a little creepy.

On a happier note, here's my contribution to today's Beautiful Girl's Birthday Bouquet of Bon Mots and Blessings:

In a recent intervew with Le Figaro Rob was asked "Who are your role models, your favorite actors in movies?"

    His answer was:

And among actresses, Isabelle Huppert and those I love from the golden age of Hollywood like Ava Gardner, and Katharine Hepburn, with her class yet so tough and funny. Kristen Stewart, whom I admire the same, has a small side of Hepburn."

Translation is a bit rough but you get the idea.

(Then again, maybe I am being naive. Perhaps this is another one of those secret coded messages to the Exit Strategy brain trust. Wait a minute -- I think I broke the code -- he's comparing Kristen to one of the most honored actress of all time, who effortlessly combined grace, elegance and strength, and was know for being an independent spirit. But forget all that. The REAL clue is that Hepburn is dead, meaning she's no longer here, meaning that Rob will never be with her. So what Rob is
REALLY saying that he isn't with Kristen! I mean, any fool can see that! And trust me, any fool will.)

  6. Well, Rose, I am a highly trained profesional. And that's the kind of double secret exit strategy super duper complicated shit I have to come up with every day. Because everyone knows that's what PR is all about.

"You'll be my Queen. I'll be your King. And I'll be your Lover...too." *sigh* Lucky Birthday Girl Kristen!!

  8. Good afternoon Roseland!

@Rose: Looking forward to tomorrow's post too.

    @Real Pr Pro: Funny. :)

Just an aside... In 2008 George Gurley(the Elle interviewer)did an interview with Christina Ricci where it was described as creepy too. He was with the New York Observer at the time. A strange coincidence.

  15. Congrats to you, Super, & your family! So glad that mommy & baby are doing well. I can only imagine how excited you all are.

LOL PRPro! I must be a dummy because I can't decipher the non denial denials or PR spin at all. In fact, I am so dumb, everytime I read or hear Rob describing his ideal woman, it always sounds to me like he is describing Kristen! Even in the earliest Twilight interviews! Maybe you can give me some tips so I can be as smart as the true Rob fans who understand his secret messages? ;)

Interesting tidbit about the writer of the Elle article, Annie.

  22. For Super

    Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)

    John Lennon:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hKSXqefccg

    Close your eyes,
    Have no fear,
    The monsters gone,
    He's on the run
    And your daddy's here,

    Beautiful,
    Beautiful, beautiful,
    Beautiful Boy,

    Before you go to sleep,
    Say a little prayer,
    Every day in every way,
    It's getting better and better,

    Beautiful,
    Beautiful, beautiful,
    Beautiful Boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
    I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,

    But I guess we'll both,
    Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
    But in the meantime,

    Before you cross the street,
    Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

    Beautiful,
    Beautiful, beautiful,
    Beautiful Boy,

    Thank you/nano952

  23. Another lovely quote re: our lovely girl...

"I think she's strong and lovely and smart as hell and will choose her roles carefully and will do fantastically well for many, many, many years." from Mary Stuart Masterson, director of The Cake Eaters

BTW, that photo of Tom takes my breath away! What a yummy cutie...:)

Congratulations Super on the wonderful news! A sweet grandson! So happy to hear that your daughter and her son are doing great.

  25. For Kristen, Rob & Tom-You Do!

    You Take My Breath Away

    Eva Cassidy:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3DVbmQXxXw

    Sometimes it amazes me
How strong the power of love can be
Sometimes you just take my breath away

You watch my love grow like a child
    Sometimes gentle and sometimes wild
Sometimes you just take my breath away

And it's too good to slip by
    Too good to lose
    Too good to be there
    Just to use

I'm gonna stand on a mountain top
    And tell the news
That you take my breath away

Your beauty is there in all I see
And when I feel your eyes on me
Oh don't you know you just take my breath away

And it's too good to slip by
    Too good to lose
    Too good to be there
    Just to use

I'm gonna stand on a mountain top
    And tell the news
That you take my breath away

    Thank you/CasaLucita

  30. For Kristen & Rob:

    I Can Only Be Me

    Eva Cassidy (Stevie Wonder song):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VK7pBoo5-M&feature=related

    Butterflies begin,
    from having been a larva,
    As a child is born,
from being in a mother's womb,

    But how many times,
    have you wished you were some other;
    Someone than who you are.

Yet who's to say that if all were uncovered,
    You will like what you see;

    You can only be you,
As I can only be me.

    Flowers cannot bloom,
    until it is their season,
As we would not be here,
    unless it was our destiny,

    But how many times,
have you wished to be in spaces,
Times, places than what you were.

Yet who's to say with unfamiliar faces,
    You could any more be;

    Loving you that you'd see,
    You can only be you,
As I can only be me.

    Hoooo ohooo oohooouhooooo
    I can only be me.

    Thank you/CasaLucita

  31. Who Knows Where The Time Goes

    Eva Cassidy:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xv5t70u-ZI

Across the evening sky all the birds are leaving
Oh but then you know it was time for them to go

By the winter fire I will still be dreaming
I do not count the time

For who knows where the time goes
Who knows where the time goes

Sad deserted shore your fickle friends are leaving
Oh but then you know it was time for them to go

But I will still be here I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time

For who knows where the time goes
Who knows where the time goes

I know I’m not alone while my love is near me
I know that it’s all until it’s time to go

All the storms in winter and the birds in spring again
I do not count the time

For who knows where the time goes
Who knows where the time goes

    Thank you/CasaLucita

    I Hate Spring
    (Humor Song)

    Katharine Hepburn (1991)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x20aQtAbPUc

    Some people like the winter,
    Some people like the fall,
    Some people think that summer
    Is best of all.

    I hate the spring,
    I hate open buses,
    I hate fresh asparaguses
    But more than anything
    I hate the spring.

    I hate birds,
    I also hate flowers,
    I hate sun shiny hours,
    But more than mere words,
    I hate birds.

    I hate spring the intruder,
I hate round trips to Bermuda,
    I love dogs with rabies,
    But I hate babies

    I hate the spring,
    I hate anything funny,
    I love money,
    But more than anything,
    I hate the spring.

    Spring, spring,
The buds are bursting on the bough,
Little green shoots in copse and spinney,

    The sitting hens,
    The carving cow,
Meet you at the ballpark skinny.

    Spring!
Mother saw her first robin today,
    It was a ghastly sight.

    Cherry blossom time in Washington,
    Lilac time in old Virginny,
    Springtime in the Rockies,
    Well it can stay there.

You go out and bed down your own petunias,
You dash up to the attic and get out your old double-dimity,

You spring out of bed at six o'clock in the morning,
And spring into a cold shower.
Then spring downstairs and then spring into that damp spring air.

You don't catch me going on a picnic,
    Oh, no, Spring!

    I hate the spring,
    I hate golf and tennis,
    I also hate Venice,
    But more than anything,
    I hate the spring,

    I hate peas,
    I also hate gladiolas,
    I love scratchy victrolas
But more than all of these
    I hate peas,

    I hate cats,
    I hate rabbits,
I love people who have habits,
    I hate fancy cheeses,
    But I love diseases.

    I hate the spring,
    I hate anything pretty,
    I love the Radio City,
    But more than anything,
    I hate the spring.

    Thank you/algabal

  63. Kristen Rocks It On Her 21st!

    Rock With You

    Michael Jackson:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ej9Aly3oes

    Girl, close your eyes
Let that rhythm get into you
    Dont try to fight it
There aint nothin that you can do

    Relax your mind
Lay back and groove with mine
You got to feel the heat
And we can ride the boogie
    Share that beat of love

I wanna rock with you (all night)
    Dance you into day (sunlight)
I wanna rock with you (all night)
Were gonna rock the night away

    Out on the floor
There aint nobody there but us
    Girl, when you dance
Theres a magic that must be love
    Just take it slow
cause we got so far to go

    When you feel that heat
And were gonna ride the boogie
    Share that beat of love

I wanna rock with you (all night)
    Dance you into day (sunlight)
I wanna rock with you (all night)
Were gonna rock the night away

And when the groove is dead and gone (yeah)
    You know that love survives
So we can rock forever, on
    Refrain

    I wanna rock with you
    I wanna groove with you

I wanna rock (all night) with you girl (sunlight)
Rock with you, rock with you girl (yeah)
    (all night)
    Dance the night away

    Thank you/TheGame875

  64. For Kristen:

    A Girl Like You

    Edwyn Collins
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkKxGzm98AU

I've never known a girl like you before
Now just like in a song from days of yore

Here you come a knockin', knockin' at my door
And I've never met a girl like you before

You give me just a taste so I want more and more
Now my hands are bleeding and my knees are raw

Now you've got me crawlin', crawlin' on the floor
And I've never met a girl like you before

You've made me acknowledge the devil in me
I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically
    Hope that I'm talkin' allegorically

Know that I'm talkin' about the way I feel
And I've never known a girl like you before

    Never, never, never, never
Never known a girl like you before

This old town's changed so much
    Don't feel like I belong
    Too many protest singers
    Not enough protest songs

    And now you've come along
    Yes you've come along
And I've never met a girl like you before

    Thank you/thegavinevanschannel

    Smitty/Gruff/Syd

    Hale And Hearty

    MMHund
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH9XSCoNDPA

There are these tiny little things I adore
It's kind of funny that I love you even more
Every time you're on edge when I open the door
    (quite) unexpectedly

You are different from the average
You're special, you're particular, in the way you are

You are looking forward to everything
No matter what the next day is going to bring

Every time you've got a smile on your face
    It's warming me

You are different from the average
You're special, you're particular, in the way you are

    As your name implies
    You're perfectly hale and hearty
When I look into your eyes
    I see happiness
    You're so pressure-less

You start complaining, that I'm talking too much these days
You are not able to get a word in edgeways

But when I remain silent you do too
You can't find anything to say or to do out of the blue

You are different from the average
You're special, you're particular, in the way you are

    As your name implies
    You're perfectly hale and hearty
When I look into your eyes
    I see happiness
    You're so pressure-less
    Happiness...

    Thank you/ichhalt000

  66. Well, well, this is certainly great fun, dedicating songs to Kristen and our Trio tonight.

My late night buds are out cavorting and I've been home, all day in my pajamas! Why not, since my day was a laid back one? (Hugh Hefner is my at all-times pajama wearing hero.)

After all, it's not like I am 21 or anything is it? No, so there I go, or I didn't.

Enjoying the moments of your life is the trick, and I can/am.

A romance movie is in the dvd player, and I'll see if it's what I need (not even close).

Be back in the wee smalls, here with you, for the Kristen 21st birthday bash.

Whatever it takes, we've got it.

    Night, t'all.

Seize the moment, then squeeze it dry!

  69. Kristen Stewart,

    Happy Birthday...Yay!

    You can finally drink...

    Legally, that is!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Happy 21st Birthday, Kristen. Have a wonderful day!

    ReplyDelete
  71. @Bren
You drew me out of a deep sleep with your hollering out to Kristen!

    What's happening?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Lady,

    Don't you ever sleep?...

Just got home, I'm pretty pooped, we went out dancing and a prancing...

Just peeked in to see if you were still around..

    ReplyDelete
  73. @Bren
That's a nice way to be, chipper and all of that! Dancing, prancing.

Why would I be sleeping when I've only been up for 14 hours, so far and never got out of my jammies?

    ReplyDelete
  74. @Bren
Now if I had been doing some of what you're doing, I'd be thinking seriously about doing something else, which may or may not be sleeping related.

    ReplyDelete
  75. DK,

That was really sweet of you, posting all those songs.

Hey, what happened to you the other night?, you left me high and dry on the board...lol

    ReplyDelete
  76. Happy 21st birthday to an extraordinary woman.

I hope you have an amazing day Kristen!

    LOTS OF LOVE!

  77. I keep telling you, I'm not eighteen....besides that just proves you are a red hot mama...

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Bren
You got a phone call and I thought that was a great time for a little nappy. 5 hours later, I was ready for some more sleep but did open my beautiful blue eyes for ten seconds, and thought about you.

    @Angelica1 & LJ
Greetings on this great birthday bash day! Hugh Hefner also has his, and he is 85 and likes them young, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Bren
Oh, I am red hot, in these hot red pajamas with the ruffles and lacey things.

    ReplyDelete
  80. DK,

This is wild, you just mentioned Hugh Hefner, and we ran into Uncle Rambo tonight, and he was with a new toddler, not the one he had for NYE...

    ReplyDelete
  81. @Bren
There you have done it, made me eat another Pinwheels cookie of dark chocolate and marshmallow.

Had to, with the tea I'm drinking, as it was so strange not to have something to dunk or crunch.

Wish I could have some of Kristen's birthday cake!

I've seen pics of the ones from other years, and they looked yummy (the cakes & the pics, too).

I'll eat cake today in her honor.

I will raise a piece of cake to my mouth for Kristen Jaymes Stewart!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I wish I were like you, that I could be in my pj's all day...but I had a mother who had strict rules...out of bed, into the shower, and then breakfast...even on Saturdays and Sundays...so that is still the way I do things....

    ReplyDelete
  83. @Bren
Uncle Rambo is not yet 85 is he?

Hef is the best, better than all the rest, better than anyone, better than....oh, you know what I mean.

His son, Marsten, is also 21 today, along with our Kristen, babe.

Father and son, same birth date, some real planning went into that I'd bet. (64 years difference)

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Bren
I had such a mother, too and she did try, really try to instill that ethic into we three little monsters. Alas, it did not stick.

However, in my own defense, I worked for 39 years on that regimen and only today realized how silly I was.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I love Pinwheels, and no it's not my fault if you eat more than one...

Dang, the vet gave the dog some eyedrops and I promised Nicole, I would remember at 3...brb

    ReplyDelete
  86. Lurkers,
In case you are wondering why I said earlier, that I was going to Quietsville via Dreamland and didn't? Well, I was.

But I started to seize the day again, and squeezed it so hard and dry, that I was so invigorated by the seizing, that I'm still up.

The no BabblingOn, well, that's too much to expect of someone like me, which you know, for you have lurked long enough around Roseland, to have the proof and the pudding (cake today though).

Hope you're happy, and having fun, dear Lurkers.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Really he is 21? I rember when that kid was born, but it doesn't sound familiar that they shared birthdays...

No, Uncle Rambo, I believe is 54, but looks 44....

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hey Lady, if you have been up sooo many hours, maybe you should be thinking of getting some zzzz's..

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Birdie
Woot, woot! Bet you'll be making some coffee soon.

    Word verf: inuckin/in uckin
I'm not in uckin condition to be drinking coffee, so late, Ms Birdie, thanks anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  90. @Bren
    Proof in the pudding!

    From spyonvegas.com web site:

Playboy founder and legend, Hugh Hefner returns to Palms Casino Resort to commemorate he and his son's birthdays at premier nightlife destinations, Playboy Club and Moon Nightclub on Saturday, April 9.

Hefner turns 85-years-old, while Marston celebrates his 21st birthday in true Sin City fashion.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @Bren
Hef is 85 looks 80, isn't that great?

Uncle Rambo is on a roll but is it uphill or down?

Or is it around and around we go, and where we stop, no body knows?

I'm thinking about being frozen until new bodies can be made from recycled plastic. Oops, maybe there are some out there already!

    ReplyDelete
  92. That picture of Kristen on the banner is gorgeous...

It's funny that Rob's and Kristen's birthdays are so close, mine is 2 weeks b4 my husband's also.

My dad and his sister shared a birthday, but he was the oldest, and her the youngest.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @Bren
Forgot the " " for that quoted paragraph, so imagine that they are in place, for I don't steal from spy sites, no way, no how.

    ReplyDelete
  94. @Bren
I confess that I wrote your and Gwen's birthdates down on a piece of paper and lost it. So, care to let me know it again?

Was it in March, April, May, June?

    Come on..tell me.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I am laughing so hard at your Uncle Rambo remark...who knows if he is up or down, but these young chicks dig him for some reason..

Plz excuse all the typos, I only had one, possibly two drinks...I should be able to see. I noticed I had a couple of misspelled words.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Looky, looky here! I was wondering what happened to you yourg beauties!

    ReplyDelete
  97. @Bren
Just took a look at the new Kristen banner, and it is stunning.

She is 21 today, but could still pass for 18, if she'd like!

See how that whole pass for younger thing can work for you?

    Word verf: scroloo/scro loo

DK has a tiny scro loo in her noggin today, from birthday bash excitement, no less.

    ReplyDelete
  98. That would be "young not yourg" and I am only drinking coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey Birdie,

If one of my favorite nuses in the whole world is going to call us beauties, yourg is just fine...lol

Are you off or on today?

    ReplyDelete
  100. @Birdie
That's all right, we believe you. I had one beer tonight at 8pm so it must be gone by the wayside by now, don't you think?

Right now, I am looking/feeling younger and younger based on the new game, called pass for younger, like the 60 is the new 50, and all of that.

Maybe you are too, and that is why you spelled that word wrong, for you are so young, you haven't learned to spell yet.

    ReplyDelete
  101. @Bren
You are even more funny with two in you than one, and that's all I'll say.

    ReplyDelete
  102. yeah Birdie, DK could be right, and you could still be a toddler...

Oh, there goes that word again...

    ReplyDelete
  103. I am off today. My brain is not quite awake therefore, I begin the day with an error in spelling, but not in compliments.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Bren,
I love that Uncle Rambo was out with a toddler. So funny.

    ReplyDelete
  105. DK,

You are peeing in my glass, and calling it champagne, and that's all, I'll say...

    ReplyDelete
  106. Happy,Happy Birthday Kristen!!!!

I had to give a shout out, but will save all the gushing for Rose's later post.

    ReplyDelete
  107. @Bren & Birdie

You two are killing me, and peeing might be a possibility.

    Word verf: poingsti/poing sti

My mind can be a poing sti, but is not quite so dirty as one on a farm.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I did not get that one DK. What is that on a farm?

    ReplyDelete
  109. @Birdie
It was supposed to be a misspelled word, like "pig sty".

    ReplyDelete
  110. Or rather like "piggy sty", eh?

You won't believe this but my new word verf is:

    pootica/poo tica

Speaking of pig stys and what's in 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  111. yes, yes...Pootica is right up there with Fockola...who needs websters when you have word verification...

    ReplyDelete
  112. @Lovelies
I'm thinking about Kristen's party here on Roseland.

What time can we all meet up here and toast with booze, eat appetizers mit cake and generally, get wild and crazy in the name of that young chick?
It will be a no guilt, guilt free birthday bash. Down the hatch!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Birdie,

You really do swear?, if I said Fuck You, I wouldn't scare you off?

If DK said it it would scare you, cuz she never swears...even when she's mad as hell, she won't..

    ReplyDelete
  114. I have the mouth of a truck driver, much to my mother's dismay. I just don't write it as much as I say it.

    ReplyDelete
  115. We know the place, you name the time, and we will be there.

    ReplyDelete
  116. @Bren
WTF? Don't you remember me supporting Gruff that one time, oh, so long ago, when he was telling the troll to fuck off and I went insane, doing the same, over and over, in his honor?

I can be corrupted in the name of all that's fucked, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Birdie,

You are so funny, if you don't write it, there is no proof. eh?

    ReplyDelete
  118. DK,
My son is coming home later today so I will be out and about. Name the time and I will do my best.

    ReplyDelete
  119. @Birdie
My brother was a truck driver and I swear, he now has the mouth of a sailor, which is more expressive, I think.

He can make more combinations of foul words, than he ever could before.

That's a high compliment, he's said, to me. Sounds like an insult, to me.

    ReplyDelete
  120. As usual, Rose is the voice of reason in a world of crazy! Beautiful pictures! I noticed Ava Gardner mentioned earlier. While sitting here hoping work won't need me gonna try to recount a story of my husband meeting her. He was a young sailor and his ship was in port in Madrid, Spain. He and 2 buddies were sightseeing and were told she lived there. They were standing in front of her gate looking at the fence. Something ornate I guess but you could see thru it. The gardener (they assumed) was standing by a lady in a wide brimmed hat who was kneeling in the flower garden. The gardener told them in spanish to 'move along'. My H's buddy spoke spanish and talked to him. The lady heard them and walked over. The boys realized it was Ava Gardner. She was probably their moms' age at the time, late 30's?. My H was around 19. He said she was attractive (of course), very nice and when she realized they were american sailors, she invited them to the patio for a 'cool drink'. Beer I believe and just talked. When it was time to go, AG said she was having a 'gathering' that evening and invited them, saying her friends would be interested in talking to the sailors. After they agreed (of course again), she told them she would send a car for them. When they got there, my H said there were a lot of uppercrust type people there and he was a little nervous. AG greeted them, said to make themselve's comfortable then she left to mingle. Everyone was nice to them, asking about the states, current events and such. You have to remember there was no internet, Cnn, etc. A famous bullfighter was there who was AG's date. My H said he was very charismatic and the women swarmed him. At some point the boys were sitting at a table when my H's buddy said "That's Ernest Hemingway. I've seen his picture". Hemingway was at the next table, heard him and said loudly, "Do you know me Son?" My H's buddy replied, "No Sir, but I know who you are" The boys talked to EH for a minute and he gave his autograph. My H said Hemingway really was bigger than life in person. Anyway, when the boys needed to get back they found AG and asked about a cab. She said nonsense and that her driver would take them. They said their thank you's and goodbyes and that was that.
I wasn't around then, well a few months old but my husband told me about this yrs ago when we dated.
Sorry for the length. Please don't cuss me.
Happy Birthday to Miss Kristen Stewart!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Well fuck that! I promise you I can swear like a motherfucker(one of my faves)!

    ReplyDelete
  122. @Birdie
Didn't know you had a son, also. Was thinking just the two girls. Wow, you have some chops and need some swear words, too, for sure.

Well, I hope that the other Roselanders will be in party mode, so I'll stop in throughout the day, say after 4pm until the party ends at midnight.

Our group of crazy funmakers could be here around 10?

    ReplyDelete
  123. DK,

Oh yes, I remember it well...you made us all so proud that day...

Of course we also knew you were only doing it for Gruff, you would fight like a wildcat for him...

Alas, we will have to wait for Gruff to confront another troll to see you in action, once more.

    Blessed be that day....lol

    ReplyDelete
  124. Lacey8,
What a cool story! How nice to hear how gracious they were to those boys.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I will try to be there with bells on,DK.

    ReplyDelete
  126. @lacey8
What are you doing to us? We must read all of that, which you wrote, while under the influence of foul language and beverages. Oh, let the party begin, I say...

    Here we go...

    Word verf: tosidgi/to sid gi

So I said to sid, gi, are you coming to Kristen's Roseland bash?

    ReplyDelete
  127. OK, let me get this straight....two parties, two chances to pass out...one at four, and the other at ten...

    ReplyDelete
  128. Bren,
That would be happy hour, take a little nap and then start all over.

    ReplyDelete
  129. DK,

It would be great if Syd could attend, but he will probably be sleeping at that hour, or working.

Yo Syd, drop by if you can...we miss your craziness.

    ReplyDelete
  130. @Birdie
See, a wildcat already has him...

But I do not forget how he said, Syd said, that I am beautiful and charming.

When the pickings are slim to none, in the usual state of living, for Dreamer, many, many fuck sayings are earned in support!

Such words, as he wrote to me, and the ones the troll got, because it would not hear them, when only said once, are fine examples of alliteration.

    Word verf: galfucty/gal fucty

    One gal fucty, too many.

    ReplyDelete
  131. @Bren & Birdie

Yes, or no. We could have a non-stop party from 4 to midnight, with no naps, or whatever anyone likes to do at parties/bashes.

Let's all play MFK, then too! It's Saturday, let's play loud music!

    Happy hour, all day.

    ReplyDelete
  132. DK,

Why slim pickings?,you are one hot mama, all your husbands would testify to that...

Maybe, you are looking for love in all the wrong places...looking for love in too many faces...

    ReplyDelete
  133. @Bren
I love it when you mock me, and shock me, and sock it to me!

Especially, love that you use lyrics to do it, that really sticks it to me.

    (Smooches)

    ReplyDelete
  134. DK,

Thanks for sharing, I would of liked to meet Ava, but would of loved to talk with EH...

    ReplyDelete
  136. DK,

Ditto.....what can I say, that's what friends are for...

    ReplyDelete
  137. @Bren
And you're being cruel to me, too, for two of my husbands are no longer of this world, and cannot testify for my prowess/hot Mamaness.

The other would testify to anything, if it tended to incriminate me. So, yes, he would say I sizzled like his favorite bacon.

    ReplyDelete

Now, you know I was teasing you and remember you very well and welcome your story, plus enjoyed it very much, don't you, luv?

  148. DK, I am actually going to do something productive, like clean my house. I like a clean slate before the kids mess it up. You better catch some winks if you are going to party later on. I'll even nap so I can stay up past 8:00.

    ReplyDelete
  149. @Birdie
I'm having some of that trouble tonight myself, and now a security program is running to check and see if I am in check with my security. It takes 20 minutes.

Perhaps, I should sleep, perchance to dream, and be in fine fettle for the bash?

What needs to be done during your awake time?

    ReplyDelete
  150. @Birdie
