Rob and Kristen- 10 Good Things.

One look says it all...

There is a lot of negativity out there in this fandom.
I know... I sometimes promote it.
Hey... What can I say?
I'm a cynic by nature.
I see some of the bullshit... I respond to it.
So sometimes it's better if I just post without reading
my email/DMs/Twitter/Blog first.

So...
I decided to try and write about the 10 things
I love about this fandom...
The movies... the books... the people.
OK... OK...
10 might be a stretch
(See? Cynicism)
But there really have been GOOD things
to come out of all this.
There really has.
And btw...
Before I get started.
You DID note my being a cynic... right?
And me...
Who doesn't believe anything at face value
Who doesn't trust easily
Who has doubts on the best of intentions
Has no trouble believing in
Rob and Kristen.
Imagine that.

OK.

10 Things I Love About Twilight
And its Fandom
(in no particular order)

This is as close to Edward as I am ever going to get...
1. Edward.

Funny thing is...
Over the course of the last 3 years
(Yes, it's been 3 years and I'm still here!)
I've forgotten about my love for Edward.
I mean... he started this all.
I know the Twilight books get a lot of shit...
And OK... they aren't classic masterpieces.
But they were enjoyable to read
and they had Edward.
You gotta give Stephenie Meyers credit for that.
I was completely fascinated by Edward.
And I had a version of him in my head...
And when I saw the above picture of Rob?
I knew everything was going to be OK.
This is why Twilight remains my favorite of the movies
(Thus far)
Because it gave me my Edward...
and with Edward came Robert Pattinson.

Hello Edward!

I can admit it.
I STILL get chills when I see this scene.
Edward strolling into the cafeteria...
Looking all beautiful and complex.
It was the first time I got to see my Edward
up close...
and outside of my head.
I wasn't disappointed.

Why so gorgeous Robert?
2. Shit... I'm only on 2???

OK.
So Edward leads us to Robert.
And oh what a joyous wonderful trip it has been!
Robert Pattinson.
Whom I briefly recalled as the beautiful boy from Harry Potter...
Crashed into my head...
and my heart
with every new picture I saw...
with every adorable, charming
completely mesmerizing word he uttered.
And it never seemed to have an end...
Because with every interview
I found something else to love
about this modest, witty and adorkable man.
And he still has that effect on me
Even now.

And that brings us to...

Big green eyes and they're as wide as the moon.
3. Kristen.
Well.
Twilight led me to Kristen as well.
And OK...
At first I was a bit envious of her close proximity
to Robert Pattinson.
I didn't know much about her
But as time went along
I saw a lot of things I liked.
First of all...
She's naturally beautiful
She's shy and awkward in public
(Although she is proving to have conquered that recently)
She's not a girly girl..
who is overly concerned with her hair and makeup
She dresses for comfort rather than style...
and yet has a unique style all her own.
She's immensely dedicated to the characters she portrays on screen...
and puts a piece of herself in every one...
which makes her vulnerable.
She's quirky and funny
and she swears as naturally as breathing.
She's honest and doesn't suffer fools gladly.
Best of all?
She makes Robert happy.
Well it's obviously a mutual thing
seeing as they both are beautifully happy
and full of smiles and laughter
when they are together.

And yes.
I find myself kinda protective of her.
I think a lot of the shit that gets thrown at her
on a daily basis
is undeserved and based on jealousy and hatred.
Both wasted emotions.
So I choose to focus on the love and happiness
That I see between her and Robert.

Twirling > Foaming

Those eyes...

4. Thomas Sturridge.
Well... Robert led me to Tom.
I didn't know who he was at first either.
But I kept seeing him...
Kinda in the background where Rob was.
All beardY and lurkY.
And the pictures that came out of Rob and Tom together
always showed two guys who were really great friends.
How can you NOT love that?
Tom goes out of his way not to discuss his friend.
Tom is loyal.
Tom is true.
Tom is Rob's best friend for a reason.
But lets get past Rob for a minute.
Let's look at Tom on his own... OK?
Handsome?
Yes.
I mean... sometimes I think you have to have
piercing eyes and a great jawline
to even be a member of the "Brit Pack"
But Tom is more than gorgeous...
Have you watched some of his movies?
I'm particularly fond of Pirate Radio.
He's funny and sweet and sexy
and his accent?
I stand by my opinion that Tom's accent
trumps Rob's.
It just does.
Listening to him talk makes me meltY...
and swoonY
and any other word I can randomly attach a Y to.
I adore Tom Sturridge.

3 amigos
How can you look at this picture...
and NOT smile?
Rob and Tom.
Laughing and walking.
Being friends.

Loyalty and Friendship mean a lot.

Triangle of heaven?

5. Halfway there!!
WooHoo!

OK.
So...
Being in this Twilight fandom...
has also made me aware of the above...
ROBERT
WALKING.
Yes.
I know you are all aware of my penchant
for the man in motion.
Maybe it started when he strolled thru the cafeteria
in Twilight?
Interesting thought.

Sexy Strut.
Then seeing Rob stroll across the parking lot in New Moon?
Um.
SwoonY
MeltY
Again.
Yes.
I can thank Twilight
(and Catherine Hardwick, I suppose)
for exposing me to my
Robert Pattinson Walking Addiction.
But guess what?
I'm not complaining.
Nope.
Not me.
Never.

Rob. Piano. Died.

7. Robert.
Piano.
Music.
Again...
I must thank Catherine Hardwicke for bringing this to the screen.
She cast Robert.
She introduced him by walking into the cafeteria...
AND
she not only had him play piano in Twilight
but she put a couple of his songs on the soundtrack.
I mean...
Music is important to Edward...
And the imagery of Robert at the piano?
Yeah.
You get it.
I know you do.
So thanks to this...
I'm a huge fan of Rob and his music.
Have you really listened to him play guitar?
It breaks my heart.

I hoping if he has time off that he gets a chance
to explore his musical side...
Perhaps write some (love) songs
and work on a CD?
Heaven.
Puppies are adorkable.
8. Bear
Bear is a positive...
He was in a shelter.
Rob and Kristen
(You know it's true)
rescued his adorable floppy eared self.
Rob says where his dog is... is home.
And since it's their dog...
I guess Kristen is home.

And one small thing...
I have a German Shepherd
(which Bear is part mixed with)
And when I got Kaia...
She was almost completely black
and had floppy ears...
Now?
She is Tan/Black
and her ears are straight up..

Don't mess with her...
That's what happens with puppies.
They grow...
They change...
Their ears sometimes stop being floppy.
Amazing.

As long as they only have ONE personality... I'm OK.

9. Twilight led me to Robert...
And Robert led me here.
3 years ago the forums and blogs about Robert
weren't as plentiful as they are now.
And I found myself commenting at one in particular
more and more often.
ROBsessed was my first taste of what this community
could really offer.
I found women there... who shared my love of Rob
and Twilight.
We could laugh and chat
and knowing they were there...
Sharing my thoughts and feelings...
Made it better for me.
Made me feel OK.
Made me feel like I wasn't completely insane
for crushing on this actor.
I made some good friends there...
And I still love them to this day.
Rob also led me to Twitter.
Twitter is where I go to have a laugh
(and my lord, there are plenty to be found there)
To hang out with like minded people...
Again... I've made some good buddies on Twitter...
People I truly consider friends.
Twitter is also a great place to get
UP TO THE MINUTE news on Rob/Kristen/Tom
and anything else you might have an interest in.
Yes.
I know that a lot of stuff you see on Twitter
needs huge amounts of salt
And you really need a good sense of humor
to plow through the daily bullshit and drama.
But good people.
Good times.
A few laughs...
and knowing its not serious stuff.
It's fucking Twitter.

10. Vampires.
So what if I liked vampires before Twilight?
I've always kinda had a thing for them.
Goes back to "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King
(Good book...you should read it)
I'm kinda fascinated by them.
When I first heard about Twilight
the thing that actually made me buy the books
were that they were about vampires.
So can we thank Twilight for
Vampire Diaries?
True Blood?
Probably not...
I think those were books before Twilight...
and obviously vampires have been around for a long time.
But the look of Vampire Diaries?
That is ALL Twilight
(and more Edward)
And I love both Vampire Diaries
and True Blood...
And sometimes I wonder if those shows would
have been even made if not for the phenomenon
(Damn I can hear Oprah saying that word)
that was Twilight.
Yes?
No?
Maybe so?
It doesn't really matter.
When I don't have Edward to watch...
I can watch Damon and Stephen
or Eric

Now THAT'S a werewolf!

or Alcide
(OK, Alcide is a werewolf... but HOT DAMN
The lyrics...
"Whatta man, whatta man, whatta mighty good man"
Just pops into my head.)

So there you have it.
10 Good things that Twilight brought me.
And my next post?
1 million shitty things about Twilight.
I will try to cut it down by the time I actually post it.
;)

This post is brought to you by the sheep that is green.
Long live the sheep.
May it always be green.
Forever.

Bye for now

    :)

  3. Good post Rose!
There may be fan bullshit & fan drama, but there is a lot of good, positive & happy things about the "fandom" in general.
Sane, cool fans coming together for events like comic-con, sharing the pix/vids and loving the cuteness & happiness that Rob & Kristen bring.
    Good stuff!

Love all the cute pix as well.
Rob & Kristen are definite "good" that came from twilight. Love to see all the positive things happening in their lives both professionally & personally!
And Tom too, I also LOVE Pirate Radio, excellent film!

Hello to everyone, hope u are all having a good day! And that its going by faster than mine, work is dragging! Lol!

  4. Also, your doggie is really cute Rose! She looks fierce too!

Lil Bear will grow up someday and hopefully scare the shit out of paparazzi that try to get too close to take his picture when he is out with "mom and dad" lol!

    Hello Liza & Syd

  7. Oh Rose! I loved this one. It's full of goodness... Also, your dog is so cute (although, per your caption, I would NOT want to mess with him).

I'm staying far away from the usual drama and am still reveling in all the R/K wins from this weekend. That Bel Ami trailer knocked me out and Kristen as Snow White?!! So bad ass! Love her.... Love them. All good things to them & you.

Hi to everyone in Roseland. Hope you all have a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hi Syd, Groovie and anyone else I miss. Have a great day!

  9. Hey Syd! long time no speak :)

HAHAHAHA! Oh you should have seen him Syd love, he looked just like the guy in Roses's last pic only fitter. Not only did I have love bites round my whole neck, he wrote my name in them all down my back it was so romantic.............LOL

  10. Great post, ROSE! Your dog is gorgeous, by the way.

LIZA, I'm glad your brother's wedding was a success. See, I'm not the only one who doesn't believe your "curling iron" excuse! LOL Hey SYD!

Have a great day, fellow Roselanders!

  11. What's good for the ram is good for the ewe I suppose so, without further delay, I present 10 things I love about RoseSee

    1. She is creative. Her writing (regardless of the topic) is refreshing and unique and makes me smile.

    2. She is loyal. If you ever wonder what the real Rose is like, imagine the best friend you could ever have. Someone who would keep secrets, listen, worry for you, laugh with you and make you feel special. That's Rose.

    3. She gets really really annoyed when she spells something wrong. Its adorable and funny and completely entertaining.

    4. She is one of the world's greatest mothers. Without going into detail here, the term "mama bear" may have evolved after someone watched Rose ferociously and enthusiastically raise her children. No children have ever been loved more than hers.

    5. When Rose drinks she dances. I haven't witnessed this myself yet but apparently, its quite amusing and sexy. Hmmmmmm....

    6. Rose has a Nana named Rose who makes double chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and pasta and all other kinds of delicious food.

    7. Rose is beautiful. Trust me on this, she's a naturally beautiful person, inside and out. Of course, there's this one orange..oh nevermind.

    8. Rose is smart. She understands more than most people will ever know. She knows not just academic things but she knows people. She gives excellent advise.

    9. Rose is funny. REALLY funny. Funny as in, literally fall of the bed laughing funny. I think it goes with the smart thing but her sense of humour is lovely.

    10. Rose likes me. She puts up with all kinds of crap and still is my friend. You have to admire anyone who puts up with my shit. Thanks for liking me Rose. I'm glad we are friends.

  12. LIZA you cannot allow this to go on!!! I am wondering exactly, did he write just "Liza" or your whole name because that would mean he would not fit it all on your back but would be.....

    LIZA!

You should behave sweet girl. That last guy btw, he's nice if you don't mind the transgender type. Didn't know that suited you but to each her own.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi to the rest too--Groovie, Dottie, Kay and anyone I missed.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Syd, look at you getting all cute with your list, its very sweet!

    Hi dottie & kay!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey Groovie and Kay!

I love your list, SYD. ROSE is indeed a special person. You only have to read her blog a few times to see that.

LIZA, You are hilarious! Believe it or not, I really and truly did use the curling iron excuse once. Looking back, I don't think my mother believed me at all. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  16. Groovie--

Of course your mother didn't believe you. NOBODY actually believes that excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ROSE!!!!

I don't disagree with much that you right, but I prefer Rob's accent all day LOL

When he said ''making love on the beach'' at the Breaking Dawn panel I think most of the female viewers were sitting in a puddle PMSL

    ReplyDelete
  18. That should read *write* not *right*

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh yes the whole name Syd...where would be the fun in it otherwise?..

...and the last guy, well he has the body, but hes no 6th picture down lets face it.

Aww...and the 10 things you love about Rose is very sweet. She's lucky to have you as a friend too.

  22. Hi Everyone!

Great post Rose - I need to dognap Bear :)

Awww Syd,look at you getting all soppy about your future wife!!

Liza - If the guy in that pic turned up at my door,I'd happily let him write the whole of War and Peace on me in lvoe bites :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. @angelica1
You've killed me, War & Peace!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oops SYD, I was the one who used the curling iron excuse-not GROOVIE. I don't want her to get a bad rep. I'm sure she was way smarter than I was as a teen. :D

LIZA How is your mom's eye? Poor dear!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey ANGELICA!!! "War and Peace" eh?? Who knew you were such a fan of Russian lit? haha

How long before you leave for Brussels?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol! Angelica, I'm sure u aren't the only one!

And Dottie- I was well-behaved, always...therefore no excuses were ever necessary. LOL! Heh

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes GROOVIE, I've always had that perception of you - angelic! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. dottie - I have very eclectic tastes in everything :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dottie- "angelic" lol!!! I can say that word has never been used to describe me.. Hahahahahaha!
I do refer to myself as the golden child though to my parents, cuz I know I had zero drama & my sisters sure as hell don't lol!
See its all part of my clever scheme, I was the perfect kid, thus I wasn't "watched" which resulted in me being able to do whatever the hell I wanted, always!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hi DK and Angelica,

Ha...loved the War & Peace comment Angelica.

Dottie my mum still has a black eye but its fading, you couldn't see it at all on the day with a lot of concealer and more eye make up than usual!

Aww Angelica lucky you going to Brussels. I really want to go to Bruges for a weekend soon.

    ReplyDelete
  31. LIZA, I saw a pic you posted of the bride and groom. Her dress was so gorgeous! I'm glad that at least in the pics your mom's black eye won't be noticeable.

GROOVIE, That was a good plan! Wish I had thought of it.

DK, I hope your move is going smoothly.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Rose, I hope you know I was only teasing you about #6 in a super-secret Roseland decoder ring, invisible ink, olives and tomes sort of way.....

Hi Dottie, Angelica, DK, MSCL, Toncit, and Claire - now I really do have to run. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Liza -c We'll be going to Bruges while we're there. I'm glad your mum managed to cover up the black eye :)

Groovie - My approach was to always tell the truth about where I was going...just not necessarily mention everyone who'd be there!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi all,

I'm just ducking my head in between appointments. I just wanted to say hello. I hope everyone is well.

I'll try to catch up with everyone later. Stay well.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Fredster! Hope you are having a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lovely post Rose. Rob, Kristen and Bear are certainly the best to come out of Twilight. They have enriched all our lives I think. Love Syd's list on the lovely things about Rose. All too true I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @dottie
The packing/move goes much more smoothly when I'm laughing, and having a merry time, like now. Thanks for the fun!
    ******************************
Going to have the neck cracked soon, so must away.

Bye for now, to all of you so clever, and got away with it, lovelies, here on Roseland.

    Chow, Syd. Happy woo!

    DK

    ReplyDelete
  38. On the look out for transgender types right now! The guy plays a werewolf in True Blood.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Just popping in for a quick hello.

    dottie and Liza,

Just a few weeks ago I had an episode with the love machine curling iron. I saw my doctor a few days later and she was complimenting me on my longer hairstyle. She then glanced at my neck and said, I see Mr PL likes it too. I didn't understand what she meant at first. Anyway, even a doctor can't tell the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  40. For the record, I believe Liza and the curling iron episode. I just wish she would stop hitting her mum...what kind of way is that for a daughter to treat her sweet mother?

Who really like that whole love bite/hickey thing anyway? Once you are over the age of 15 its a bit odd I think. I prefer to just slap a big old "MINE" on a woman's forehead in permanent ink. Much easier to see.

I have to go but I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Haha Syd you are so cute.

Bye love, it was really great to bump into you.

    <3

  42. Happy Tuesday! Great post Rose. Your dog is beautiful. Lots of delish pictures too!

Something I get a kick out of in this fandom is when something good comes out. The shouty caps go full force on twitter and I just smile at all the cute excitement.

Syd- very sweet sentiments about your friend Rose. She is pretty darn great from what I can tell.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week! Gotta jet to the store to pick up the stuff I need for dinner.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Should I correct all the things I misspelled in my post to Rose? You all believe already I am an idiot so I think I will let it alone.

Sorry Rose, hope you can decipher it. Advise=advice and so on...

    ReplyDelete
  44. PL, Liza - I had a burn from my straighteners right across my forehead last winter when it was really cold.It was SO painful when I went outside! I have also been known to sit on them and once managed to drop them down the front of my bathrobe - that was particularly painful

    ReplyDelete
  45. Angelica,

Down the front of your robe? I bet you had some explaining to do.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Syd - I can assure youI will take my straighteners to the very first person who calls you an idiot!!

  47. Hi MELINDA!

    Funny story, PL. :D

Bye SYD. It's always fun when you pop in.

  48. Hi Rose,

LOVE this post!! and you have beautiful dog!

Though, I think Tom has a sexy accent, I have to say Rob accent is the one that makes me all swoony and melty, and with all do respect...very much like that porfile pic of him. 'Why so gorgeous Robert?'

    Again...I absoluty LOVE that banner!!

AWW, Syd, you are adorable, the 10 things you love about Rose are so sweet!!

Hi, Liza, Freddie, Claire, Dottie, Groovie, Angelica, Dreamer, Kay, Melinda, Penny, Toncit, Mysocalledlife, Rosey.

  49. Haha Angelica! brilliant.

Ok I'm out too...just also wanted to add I'm so sad about Amy Winehouse. I was a huge fan of her music, such an amazing lyricist.

Anyway....this is one of my favourite songs.

    Catch you all soon.

    Liza

  50. @Syd
You an idiot? I'd as soon call myself a wit! You're a trip, on gossamer wings.
Just thought "advise" was the proper English way to use it, so you can always claim that, if needed. Proper, on Roseland, ain't necessarily so.
    ****************************8
Why am I still here? Plans changed and now it's time for some crispy white wine! Back to packing, so might as well be "good to go".

  51. @Liza

Hello back to you, wherever we are, Miss Inspiration.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Smitty

Yes I did see the situation with Nikki and the fliers.

The girl never ceases to amaze me. If it was anybody else I would find it cute, but with her there seems to be an ulterior motive behind almost everything. I mean announcing your 'engagement' at the MTV Movie Awards? That is the definition of class right there.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hello Smitty!

Oh the Nikki Reed thing.. *shakes head*
wonder how may will actually get in a row to actually have an autograph..?

LOL the story is funny actually! Well maybe it wouldnt be funny if she was a good person but since she's horrible then i guess karma made its own job lol

which leads me, on a kinda different and trivial note, to not be able to share a good word for Amy Winehouse..
I know people who were born and doomed to stay on a wheel-chair, i know people ill with multiple sclerosis, i know people fighting everyday for life..
and she just wasted with her hands...
I'm sorry she was so young and maybe needed help or something..
but she had a life and she lost it by herself..

    Anyway sorry for the disgression.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Smitty - Thats' hilarious. I don't even feel bad for laughing :)

Yeah, I'm assuming he grew a beard to stop her stubble from scratching him...

    Hello dear!
I know i'm missing a lot.. i am seriously freaking out haha
last exam went bad haha but i have another one and am studying basicallt also at night ;/

    how are you??
    any big news here?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ok I was going but I would just like to point out that although Smittys story refers to a hickey.....is it not about me....I may have burned my neck but definitely did not burn my boobs!

Is her NR's boyfriend gay and shes really his beard? she just gets more and more ridiculous.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Smitty-
    LMAO!!
That is an excellent story! And I can think of quite a few reasons she likes BEARDS! Lol!

Oh btw, had an animal style last night, twas delicious!
    Hope u are well!

  62. Also, the fact that you could only have her autograph if you promised to buy a copy of his album.

Bitch please, not many people would want your fucking autograph even if they didn't have to buy his album

    ReplyDelete
  63. Liza - I think she's hoping he'll make her relevant for 5 minutes but he's even tackier than she is

    ReplyDelete
  64. Claire- lol
indeed i think i would literally pull back the paper if i'd ever happen to see her in front of me lol

    hello groovie, angelica, liza
    and who else is here?

    ReplyDelete
  65. WAVES Smitty, thats is hilarious...thanks for the laughs

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Fio
We're making big news here, right now!
You'll do alright on your exams overall, maybe even outstanding, as you are an "A" student, don't forget that.

    @Claire
You are an excellent source for news of this ironical kind, too, and I appreciate your posts.

    Quote: B.A. Baracus:
"I pity the fool who goes out tryin' a' take over da world, then runs home cryin' to his momma!"

    ReplyDelete
  67. DK- lol you always say that but i'm so sorry that i'm always missing all the comments here cause of those fucking books..

any plans you have for the summer?

    ReplyDelete
  68. My favourite Nikki moment was at the Eclipse premiere when she tried to approach Rob while he was signing autographs (she was obviously looking for a photo op).

Stephanie spots her making her way over and she and a bodyguard proceed to block her from getting to Rob, who is oblivious to the whole situation.

She looks absolutely mortified LOL. And the fact she was dressed like a bird just added more comedy value to an already hysterical situation.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Liza
Of course, we all knew you could not, would not, be that person Smitty described-and to which my quote would, could and does apply.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Thanks Fiorels for your good wishes for my brother.

We will have to agree to disagree on Amy Winehouse, I just don't see why there has to be a choice of who to feel sad for. I would like to think my heart can stretch big enough to feeling this for anyone, whatever their situation.

But that of course is just my opinion.

Ok I really promise I'm going now!

    Take care everyone,

    Liza

    ReplyDelete
  71. speaking of nikki's fiancé dude, some fan had him sign a new moon dvd (why?? No fucking clue) and he wrote "Team Jacob!" Next to his signature
    Wtf?! LOL!
    That's just...childish & petty, and totally lame

    ReplyDelete
  72. @ Groovie

    Childish, petty and lame ?

Nikki must be rubbing off on the guy

    ReplyDelete
  73. Liza - I agree with you about Amy Winehouse. She needed compassion, not condemnation. Good night :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. That's also a good point Liza...

gonna take a shower, be back in a few :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Groovie - I suppose I can't entirely blame him for not being Team Edward. After all, Rob took home first prize and he ends up with everyone's leftovers

    ReplyDelete
  76. @Fio
You just might have some purpose behind all of this hard work of studying, making vids, leaving comments, and there is brilliance to that. Persistence pays in all ways.

Yes, of course, I will always say that, that's my job as Fairy God Mother and you're one of my "adopted" brood, sillybilly.

Big plans for my summer, always, and they appear without any effort on my part, life happens.
    *********************************
    @Claire
Dressed like a bird! Yes, I forgot that...so funny, so heartbreakingly sad. A child, adrift in so many ways, mean, spiteful and so lost. She needs to make different choices.

  77. @LJ
Ah, yes, there but for the grace of G, go I. Bye.

    @angelica1
    Ditto what you said.

  78. re: Amy Winehouse

At the end of the day addict's can be offered all the help they want, but they have to want to help themselves. It's up to them and only them to kick their addiction.

It's an absolute tragedy what happened to her. Just 27 yrs old and so talented. I guess that's what fame can do to some people, and I think others need to realise that famous people are human too and are not immune to everyday problems and struggles.

I watched some news coverage of her family visiting a gathering where people have left tributes near their home, I hope that brought them some comfort seeing how much love a lot of people had for her.

Not only was it a waste of ridiculous music talent but it was a waste of life, period.

  80. SMITTY, You just made my day w/that story! bahahaha!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Claire- agree with that!
they can have all the help they receive but it's always their choice at the end to live or not..
and of course for me it's unconceivable that it happened to her just as it would have been if it happened to any other person in the world..
    people die everyday..

her own mother said it was just matter of time..
i feel sorry for them cause there's a definition for those who lose parents and it's "orphan"; yet there's no one for those who has lost children...
    it's unnatural.

DK - so you basically have a great summer without doing nothing..? lol

and thanks so much for your support! really appreciated!

I remember that bit of Nikki at the Eclipse premiere lmao!
also i remember thinking she had "deplumed" an ostrich wearing that dress lol

    ReplyDelete
  82. HI everyone! What a wonderful post. I love the positive. I have met so many wonderful supportive people on here, as well as twitter. While my husband worries the people I "talk" to are really convicts in prison waiting to rape and pillage our family (he's a worrier) I am careful and have met awesome folk like all of you! And to think, it was our obsession w/ Rob (in a good way) that brought us all together!

And for those who have been kind in worrying, my dog Mollie seems a bit better. I appreciate all the kind thoughts and well-wishes!

    Off to real life...ciao!

    ReplyDelete
  83. LJ, Nobody would ever think that story was about YOU, darling girl!

About NR and her beard(ed) dude - I happened to be watching American Idol the night she met him & I called it! I told my hubby that she is going to get her claws into him, just you wait. It made my cold, black heart happy that he was booted off before she got the chance to sit in the audience and gaze adoringly at him on national TV whilst he sang. She was stuck in Vancouver working, I suppose. Anyway, I normally don't revel in another person's misery but in this case I can't help myself! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Fio
You SO get me, dear one!

  86. Good evening everybody.

Re; Amy Winehouse; Russell Brand wrote such a touching tribute to her on his blog, it's worth a read.

As for Nikki Reed: The less said about that young woman the better.
Also, if her fiancee is going to be that petty then they deserve each other!
Had hoped that her finding love would have matured her a bit. It seems as if it has not.

  87. Good Evening ROSE and ROSELANDERS...

ROSE...One of your finest posts!!!...in my humble opinion..I read Salems Lot..it was a great book. I think I will see if I can download it on my kindle and read it again!!! ROSE...I wish you would post a pic of yourself...from the front...heh...I believe "everything" SYD says about you!! Red is my favorite color and I wish I had a grandma Rose to cook all that good food for me...:)

SMITTY...I laughed my head OFF when I read your post...Just suffice it to say...desperate people do "desperate" things...like getting engaged to people to attempt to prove that they are OVER being dumped by a certain handsome(insanely gorgeous...Im trying to find the best word..wonderful...funny...sweetest..man...maybe on the earth..that looks at a certain woman:)..like NO MAN HAS EVER LOOKED at a woman in all of time....No Im not exaggerating)...and she will never have any man look at her like that and SHE CANT STAND IT)...:(

    Damn..those curling irons!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oh Rose, I have missed you. I lost my internet 2 weeks ago due to lightning, so have been out of touch. I have felt lost and wondering what I have missed. I loved your blog, and what RoBsessed did for you, you did for me. The day I found your blog saved my life. Before, I felt lost and all along, wondering if I was going crazy. It felt wonderful to find out there were like-minded people. I love Robert and Kristen, they make me so happy just seeing them happy. Thank you so much. Your blog is the only websight I visit now so I don't see any of the negative. We know the negative is not true...the happy couple with Bear is the real thing. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  89. sjjw - dont really know what happened to Mollie but am glad she's better!

    lol at your hubby!
my mom is the same, always like "So these peopel you talk to are all Twilight fans??" and then she gives that look like she has a degenerate daughter or whatever.. lol

DK- you are easy to get!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anyway I was watching the CC press and literally lmao at the "Breakfast time" comment by Rob! hahaha
    what was that??

    ReplyDelete
  91. Annie-
I wouldn't say nikki "found love" more like she found a convenient way to continue her famewhore ways!

If she was in love & it was important to her, she would take a leaf out of Rob & Kristen's book and keep what's important, private. I bet you'll never see them announce an engagement/wedding on a red carpet!

She is the poster child for a manipulative, famewhoring bitch!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Groovie- ditto!
come on, she could never take a lesson from rob and kristen...
it's her nature to be like this..

    ReplyDelete
  93. SJ - My son teases me about my online friends. He says you all are dirty old men who will one day kidnap me. haha
    So happy about Mollie!
OK Why is DK stalking your hubby? Inquiring minds want to know???

SUPER - How can you dump something you never picked up to begin with??? ;) Hope you are well.

    Hi Fio and Annie.

I have been online far too much today.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Hi Groovie: Yes, I agree but I was trying to give said manipulative, famewhoring bitch the benefit of the doubt.

  95. hello super, barbare and dottie :)

  96. Welcome back Barbara F. Roseland just isn't the same without your sweet and thoughtful posts.

    ReplyDelete
  97. @dottie
I've been online too longer today, myself but apparently self-control isn't my forte.
Was joking to SJ about her hubs fears about cyber friends, that's what I meant.

Tell your son, I'm planning to kidnap you, as soon as we meet up somewhere. Watch out local bars and brew pubs, right?

    ReplyDelete
  98. DK - OK now I get it! I'm a bit slow today. Is that YOU parked outside my house in the black van???

    ReplyDelete
  99. @Fio
Simple Simon says: DK jump and DK says?

    So funny, little hunny.

    @BarbaraF
You were missed. Tonight I am planning to do a shout out for those who have gone missing for a while. (You know who you are, save me some time and just pop in, and be counted.)

Nice to know that you are around, and that you found what you needed here from Rose, along with the rest of us. Lucky us!

  101. Hi FIO, DK, ANNIE,SJJW,DOTTIE and BARBARA...

Hahaha DOTTIE..You made a great point!

Im so hyped up over Roses post today and I need to revisit some of these other vampire books and shows...I wonder if Rose ever watch Dark Shadows...that was my first vampire crush, Barnabas Collins!!!!

PL...I meant to tell you that season 2 of True Blood is way better than season 1...

LJ and ANGELICA..Dont know if you are still around but I enjoyed your comments very much:)

    ReplyDelete
  102. DK- wish i had fantasy enough to elaborate an answer in rhyme but am tired and off to bed so I guess I'll make it another time!

  103. Hey all! Hubby changed his mind a bit when a twitter friend got my son an interview at a college he loved and took us to lunch! The power of the internet....

We are going to San Francisco in a few weeks. He's not minding relying on another twitter friend who lives there for advice and restaurant rec's! lol

Thanks again for the well-wishes for Mollie!

@Smitty LMFAO! I seriously cannot stop laughing at your stories. God, is there anything more repulsive than being FAKE? YUCK! Promise you will NEVER change girl, cause you are a TRUE one of a kind!

@Syd, we've never met here but you're tribute to Rose was touching and we can tell it comes from your heart! Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure we all could come up with our top 10 list for our good friend Rose, but I'm going to sum up mine with one word. AMAZING! Thanks for being you Rose. You're a one of a kind and definately a bright ray of needed sunshine! Cheers!

  108. SJJW..The Internet has certainly changed the world. Speaking of contacts, I guess it is a common occurence, one of our OR nurses married a man she met through a dating website..her third trip to the altar..I asked her today if the third time was the charm...she said YES..Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  109. Smitty- i'm sure here we all know the lack, better saying complete absence, of Rob's interest in Nikki..
i dont think anyone here ever thought the opposite lol
Rob had zero interest in her back than and it's like under zero now..

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ahhh Super......Yesterday started our break from this opppresive weather. A bit of rain yesterday and another lovely day today.

    I am no longer wilting!

I bet that light bulb DID hurt...ouch!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Fio-
Negative interest in her, too right! His actions speak for themselves.

Smitty added a great adjective to what I said earlier, "soulless"

    Soulless, manipulative, famewhoring bitch

    I'll love you, darling
    For a hundred years
    And my falling tears
    Tell it like it is

    Take my hand
    Girl and walk with me
    Make my soul
    Feel heavenly

    I just can't help it
    Pretty baby
    All my falling tears
    Tell it like it is

    I'm your soldier
    Yes, I'm your dream
And I'll be your little darling
    Just treat me tenderly

Cause ever since I laid eyes
    On you baby
    My falling tears
    Tell you like it is

    The more I see you
    The more I want you
    Then my eyes ?
    Into a flame

    I sure can't have you
Yes, and be digging my grave, too
    If I go crazy
    You'll be the blame

    Dry my tears
    And hush my fears
    Be my little darlin

    On Rob and Nikki

He's already shown he has IMPECCABLE taste

Why settle for bacon when you've got steak ;) LOL

    ReplyDelete
  115. Gosh, did I seriously spell "oppresive" with 3 "P's"...sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  116. @Annie

    PMSL

The amount of spelling errors I make on here people reading my post's must think I'm illiterate

    ReplyDelete
  117. Smitty - So glad you cleared that particular piece of absolute BS up!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Claire- spot on!
However "bacon" is too generous. Lots of people love bacon and think its delicious...
Dog food vs steak is more apt!

    ReplyDelete
  119. SMITTY- I can understand why that would be a pet peeve, especially since there are so many false stories floating around. Just from the little bit I've read and seen, I've always assumed it was exactly the way you described. It's pretty easy to see that Rob had no interest in anyone but Kristen. Nikki's motives are pretty obvious as well.

    ReplyDelete
  120. @Claire :)
It's mortfying when you look back at it afterwards.

    ReplyDelete
  122. @dottie

    Me too

That girl is as transparent as they come.

Lets be straight though. Who would you go for? Kristen or Nikki? Not much of a contest is it?

A beautiful, talented, smart woman? Or Nikki Reed?

    ReplyDelete
  123. @Fio
Knew you would do it, trickster! Sleep well.

    @Annie
    Sorry, didn't see you. Hello!

Some words need lots of "p's" or other letters to really make their point and empathize it, empathetically.

We don't sweat anything here on Roseland, except a lack of things.

    @Claire
There's so much more irony in your bacon statement, if you were referring to Paul Newman's, but it is not a happy story, nor is this one for NR.

But, we are all happy on Rose's Land, and so is Kristen & Le Rob, and that's why we are here.

I think I just covered my spelling errors for the next month!

Anyone would want your bf, since he is a famous explorer of the North or South Poles, and has written volumes of scientific studies dealing with the melting of the polar ice caps. Not everyone can have a "brainy" bf, like yours, so concerned with global warming, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  150. @DK

    A big YES!!!

That was the only song I listened to for a couple of months after we lost them.

My Dad died of cancer in late January and my Mum passed away 3 weeks later. In a way I'm glad they weren't apart too long. They met each other when my Mum was 19 and Dad was 23, got married 2 years later and spent the rest of their lives together.

I'd love it if you added that song to your lyrics list. I've just put it on now actually.

  156. Hi Rose and everyone else,

Rose, in my list, your blog is definitely one of the best things about this fandom :)
You always express perfectly what I think!

And of course I agree with everyone here regarding *that* girl...
Everything about her sounds fake and dishonest. And please (PLEASE!) can someone tell her to stop smiling and laughing hysterically all the time like an idiot. It makes her look... like an idiot! It's really annoying, lol.

  159. I'll Be Loving You Always

    Stevie Wonder:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyFypz1lya8

As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving
And the rosebuds know to bloom in early May

Just as hate knows love's the cure
You can rest your mind assure
That I'll be loving you always

As now can't reveal the mystery of tomorrow
But in passing will grow older every day

Just as all that's born is new
You know what I say is true
That I'll be loving you always

(Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky)
    Always
(Until the ocean covers every mountain high)
    Always
(Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea)
    Always
(Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream)

Did you know that true love asks for nothing
No no her acceptance is the way we pay

Did you know that life has given love a guarantee
To last through forever and another day

Just as time knew to move on since the beginning
And the seasons know exactly when to change

Just as kindness knows no shame
Know through all your joy and pain
That I'll be loving you always

As today I know I'm living
But tomorrow could make me the past
    But that I mustn't fear

For I'll know deep in my mind
The love of me I've left behind
'Cause I'll be loving you always

(Until the day is night and night becomes the day)
    Always
(Until the trees and seas just up and fly away)

    Always
(Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four)
    Always
(Until the day that is the day that are no more)
Did you know you're loved by somebody
(Until the day the earth starts turnin' right to left)

    Always
(Until the earth just for the sun denies itself)
    I'll be lovin you forever
(Until dear mother nature says her work is through)

    Always
(Until the day that you are me and I am you)
    Always
(Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky
Until the ocean severs every mountain high)
    Always mm mm

We all know sometimes life hates and troubles
Can make you wish you were born in another time and space

But you can bet your lifetimes that and twice it's double
That God knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed

So make sure when you say you're in it, but not of it
You're not helpin' to make this earth
    A place sometimes called hell

    Change your words into truths
And then change that truth into love
    And maybe our children's grandchildren

And their great grandchildren will tell
I'll be loving you until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky

    Thank you/MrSeban

  161. Awww, looks like I missed a fun nite with Syd & Smitty... hope you're both well!!

Rose, such a sweet post...and as funny as David Letterman's top 10! :) Of course, Syd's giving you a run for your money in the list competition...

DK: great playlist recently... thanks for all you do to entertain us, FGM. Wishing you great success in packing/moving this week.

Super: your avi with the grandbaby...SO SWEET!!

sjjw: I promise I will neither stalk nor kidnap you :) As for myself being kidnapped, I know that he'd bring me back as soon as he realized I never stop talking! (Well, according to my Mom when I was a kid!)

Liza: sooo glad to hear Mother Nature cooperated for your bro's wedding (although I missed the info on Mom's black eye, and the hickey's???) Sounds like a great wedding! lol

Special hello's to my lovely friends in Roseland...

PS Rose, lovin' the pic of your beautiful German Shepherd (I have 2 dachshunds who think they're shepherds, must be a German thing!)

  162. Dear Rose and everyone,

Just got in and see that I missed all y'all and your comments from this afternoon and evening.

First of all, Rose, loved your post today. Fabulous 10 good things and super pics to go along and illustrate!

Hooray for Syd's reply of 10 reasons to love Rose. Syd, you are very kind and caring friend to Rose.

So happy, Liza, that the wedding was wonderful and that the day was gorgeous and sunny.

Barbara, glad to see you are back with us.

Have a lovely night. Hugs for y'all.
Hugs for Smitty, Gruff, and Syd.

I am a talky, talker, talking all of the time, like you. How great we would get along in person, and how time would fly. I knew I liked you from the get go.

    @Boogie
Steph, what a wit you are, my bud. What a sum up! Are you a lawyer?

I agree, werewolves are sexy. What are a few scars on your bod, if well hidden, and well made?

And, I miss my grandmother, too, cause we always had ice cream at her place, and a nice hot bath in Tide detergent, to get rid of the whatever, that we might have gotten before we got there.

  164. Damn,I hate when that job of mine gets in the way of a little fun. So good to see so many here today and even a visit from Rose, Smitty and Syd!
Loved the post full of "good" things. Were you blushing today,Rose? Those were some mighty fine words from Mr.Syd. You have obviously touched many of us with your words and wit. Of course, all brought about from Twilight,Robert and Kristen. It's been a great ride and it ain't over yet!
Dk,are you getting any work done?

I don't know if any norwegians read this blog but I'd like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with Norway. I've been there twice and fell in love with it. It's an amazing country. Oslove!

If by work you mean packing, well, yes and no. Yes, I am sorting clothes again. No, I am not packing anything.

Well, I am packing away a delicious French white wine (bye, bye) and now some great coffee, but I forgot which I bought (boo hoo).

Feeling a bit like Super, doing so much laundry, everyday, before I have to go to a central laundry room, where I'll have to talk to everyone in sight, while my clothes get clean. (Thumbs up)

Makes sense now, to do all of the bedspreads, blankets, sheets, throws, and such, while I have those sock-eating, hoarding machines, that I have bitched about in past comments.

Then, as you say, it's been a lovely day on Roseland, with the teams batting a thousand for us.

  169. For Claire & Brewski-Now They Are The Wind

    Against The Wind

    Bob Seger:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmrkY-EZy74

    It seems like yesterday
    But it was long ago
Janey was lovely, she was the queen of my nights

There in the darkness with the radio playlng low
And the secrets that we shared
    The mountains that we moved

Caught like a wildfire out of control
Till there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove

And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh so tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then

    Against the wind
We were runnin' against the wind
We were young and strong, we were runnin'
    against the wind

And the years rolled slowly past
    And I found myself alone
Surrounded bv strangers I thought were my friends
I found myself further and further from my home

And I guess I lost my way
There were oh so many roads
I was living to run and running to live

Never worried about paying or even how much I owed
Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend

I began to find myself searchin'
Searching for shelter again and again
    Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter against the wind

Well those drifters days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
    Deadlines and commitments
What to leave in, what to leave out

    Against the wind
I'm still runnin' against the wind
Well I'm older now and still
    Against the wind

    Thank you/jimmej955

  170. I'm proud of my achievements tonight!

I am still purging my clothes closet, and have cut myself some cute bangs, like I used to have. (See Betty avi)

Also, bought a lighter hair color and will rejoin the blond part of the human race. (Where I belong, like Betty, see avi!)

Maybe, more songs will demand their say later tonight, but for now, I'm dangling.

It's the old, skip to my loo, my darlings.

    The Dangling Conversation

    Simon & Garfunkel-Live NYC 1967:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Ij_UapnwE

    It's a still life watercolor
    Of a now late afternoon
As the sun shines through the curtain lace
    And shadows wash the room

And we sit and drink our coffee
    Couched in our indifference
    Like shells upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar

    In the dangling conversation
    And the superficial sighs
    The borders of our lives

And you read your Emily Dickinson
    And I my Robert Frost
And we note our place with bookmarkers
    That measure what we've lost

    Like a poem poorly written
We are verses out of rhythm
    Couplets out of rhyme
    In syncopated time.

    And the dangling conversation
    And the superficial sighs
Are the borders of our lives

Yes we speak of things that matter
With words that must be said
    Can analysis be worthwhile?
    Is the theatre really dead?

And how the room has softly faded
And I only kiss your shadow
    I cannot feel your hand
You're a stranger now unto me

    Lost in the dangling conversation
    And the superficial sighs
In the borders of our lives

    Thank you/mwebber69

  172. Banish Fear To See Splendor

    Sometimes When We Touch

    Dan Hill:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IATz8ZVTALo

You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
    I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie

And who am I to judge you
On what you say or do
    I'm only just beginning
    To see the real you

    And sometimes when we touch
    The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes
    And hide

I wanna hold you till I die
Till we both break down and cry
    I want to hold you
Till the fear in me subsides

    Romance and all its strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
    But through the insecurity
    Some tenderness survives

    I'm just another writer
    Still trapped within my truths
    A hesitant prizefighter
    Still trapped within my youth

At times I'd like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through
    And hold you endlessly

    At times I understand you
And I know how hard you've tried
    I've watched
    While love commands you
And I've watched love pass you by

At times I think we're drifters
    Still searching for a friend
    A brother or a sister
But then the passion flares again

    And sometimes when we touch
    The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes
    And hide

I wanna hold you till I die
Till we both break down and cry
    I want to hold you
Till the fear in me subsides
