  6. Rose,

Very appropriate for today. Time to reflect on what is important and not some stupid fan rivalry.

I hope we can achieve world peace and acceptance in my lifetime.

  7. I've never been more proud to be an American than on this day ten years ago and in the days and weeks that followed. The stories of bravery and heroism that came out of this tragedy is what stays with me the most.

I just watched a short film narrated by Tom Hanks which told the stories of all the sea captains who came to the rescue. Hundreds of boats flocked to lower Manhattan to help with the evacuation of half a million people. This is the first time I've even heard about that.

My thoughts and prayers for all who lost on this day.. And my thanks to all those who stepped up to help. God Bless.

Thanks for doing this post Rose.

  9. Very appropriate & touching pix.

I actually flew home from NYC on 9/10/01, I was there for a concert. I almost stayed longer & would have flown home on 9/11 but decided not too. Thank God.
I have a beautiful pic I took of the WTC Towers that day though, the tops were in the clouds.

Everyone, American or not was effected that day, in many ways.

Hello to all the regulars, hope u are well & safe!

My Heart Will Go On (Titanic Theme)

    Celine Dion:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHyJTpDFgc8

    Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on

    Far across the distance
    And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

    Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on

Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
    And last for a lifetime
And never go till we're one

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

    You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on

    We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

  19. Lovely tributes Rose and all you compassionate Roselanders!
Through this tragedy we all came together to mourn the senseless loss of many Americans. May this be a reminder that what makes us a great nation is our ability to unite. We could use a bit more of that these days.

I think anyone who has a soul and a heart will never forget...
Reading, seeing images, hearing things.. would never make it so real and painful like living it...
But today, for at least one second, millions on minds were on the same thing... Hoping it won't happen again... ever.

    Bless you all.

  30. Remember When It Rained

    Josh Groban:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfxqW9QwOSI

    Wash away the thoughts inside
That keep my mind away from you
No more love and no more pride
And thoughts are all I have to do

    Ohhh, remember when it rained
Felt the ground and looked up high
    And called your name.
    Ohhh, remember when it rained
    In the darkness I remain

Tears of hope run down my skin
Tears for you that will not dry
    They magnify the one within
And let the outside slowly die

    Ohhh, remember when it rained
I felt the ground and looked up high
    And called your name

    Ohhhhhh, remember when it rained
    In the water I remain
    Running down
    Running down

    Birds flying high
    You know how I feel
    Sun in the sky
    You know how I feel

    Breeze driftin' on by
    You know how I feel
    It's a new dawn
    It's a new day
    It's a new life
    For me..
    And I'm feeling good

    Fish in the sea
    You know how I feel
    River running free
    You know how I feel

    Blossom in the trees
    You know how I feel
    It's a new dawn
    It's a new day
    It's a new life
    For me...
    And I'm feeling good

    Dragonfly out in the sun
You know what I mean, don't you know
    Butterflies all out having fun
    You know what I mean

    Sleep in peace
When, the this day is done
    And this old world
    Is a new world
    And a bold world
    For me...

    Stars when you shine
    You know how I feel
    Scent of the pine
    You know how I feel
    Yeah, freedom is mine

When you know how I feel
    It's a new dawn
    It's a new day
    It's a new life

  33. Beautiful Flower

    India Arie:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zbn7Khv8zM

This is a song for every girl who's
    Ever been through something she
Thought she couldn't make it through

    I sing these words because
    I was that girl too
    Wanting something better than this
But who do I turn to

Now we're moving from the darkness
    Into the light
    This is the defining moment
    Of our lives

'Cause you're beautiful like a flower
    More valuable than a diamond
You are powerful like a fire
    You can heal the world
    With your mind

There is nothing in the world
    That you cannot do
    When you believe in you
    Who are beautiful

    Yeah, you, who are brilliant
    Yeah, you, who are powerful
    Yeah, you, who are resilient

This is a song for every girl who
Feels like she is not special
    'Cause she don't look like
    A supermodel Coke bottle

The next time the radio tells you
    To shake your moneymaker
Shake your head and tell them
    Tell them you're a leader

Now we're moving from the darkness
    Into the light
    This is the defining moment
    Of our lives

    'Cause you're beautiful
    Like a flower
    More valuable than a diamond
You are powerful like a fire
You can heal the world with your mind

There is nothing in the world
    That you cannot do
    When you believe in you
    Who are beautiful

    Yeah, you, who are beautiful
    Yeah, you, who are brilliant
    Yeah, you, who are powerful
    Yeah, you, who are resilient

Yeah, you, this song is for you
    Yeah, you, yeah, you

    Yes It Is

    The Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O-wmVqFD4w

    If you wear red tonight
    Remember what I said tonight
For red is the colour that my baby wore
And what is more, it's true
    Yes it is

Scarlet were the clothes she wore
    Everybody knows I've sure
I would remember all the things we planned
    Understand, it's true
    Yes it is, it's true
    Yes it is

I could be happy with you by my side
If I could forget her, but it's my pride
Yes it is, yes it is
    Oh, yes it is, yeah

    Please don't wear red tonight
This is what I said tonight
For red is the colour that will make me blue
In spite of you, it's true

    Yes it is, it's true
    Yes it is
    Yes it is, it's true

    Jackie DeShannon-1965:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMS2uMUQNnQ

    What the world needs now,
    Is love, sweet love,
It's the only thing that there's Just too little of.

    What the world needs now,
    Is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

Lord, we don't need another mountain,
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb,

There are oceans and rivers enough to cross,
Enough to last 'til the end of time.

    What the world needs now,
    Is love, sweet love,
It's the only thing that there's Just too little of.

    What the world needs now,
    Is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

  36. Twilight Time

    The Platters-1958:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZpwRCw_wJI

    Heavenly shades of night
    Are falling
    It's twilight time

    Out of the mist
    Your voice is calling
    Tis twilight time

    When purple-colored curtains
    Mark the end of day
    I'll hear you, my dear
    At twilight time

    Deepening shadows gather splendor
    As day is done
    Fingers of night will soon
    Surrender the setting sun

    I count the moments darling
    Till you're here with me
    Together at last
    At twilight time

Here, in the afterglow of day
    We keep our rendezvous
    Beneath the blue

And, in the same and sweet old way
    I fall in love again
    As I did then

Deep in the dark your kiss
Will thrill me like days of old
    Lighting the spark of love
That fills me with dreams untold

Each day I pray for evening
    Just to be with you
    Together at last
    At twilight time

    Together at last
    At twilight time

    Thank you/Nocaro

  42. Let's Do It (Let's Fall In Love)

    Alanis Morissette:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZQn7BWRDfY

    When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
    Starts to sing Spring

    When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
    Starts to ring
    Ding dong, ding dong

    When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune to the moon up above
It is nature that is all
Simply telling us to fall in love

But that’s why birds do it,
    Bees do it,
    Even educated fleas do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

In Spain the best upper sets do it,
    Lithuanians and Letts do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

The Dutch in old Amsterdam do it,
    Not to mention the Finns,
    Folks in Siam do it,
    Think of Siamese twins.

Some Argentines without means do it,
People say in Boston even beans do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

Romantic sponges they say do it,
Oysters down in Oyster Bay do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

Cold Cape Cod clams ‘gainst their wish do it,
    Even lazy jellyfish do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

I've heard that lizards and frogs do it
    Layin' on a rock
They say that roosters do it
    With a doodle and cock

Electric eels, I might add, do it,
Though it shocks ‘em I know,
Why ask if shads do it,
    Waiter bring me shad roe.

In shallow shoals English soles do it,
Goldfish in the privacy of bowls do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

The dragonflies in the reeds do it,
    Sentimental centipedes do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

    Mosquitoes, heaven forbid, do it,
So does every katydid do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

The most refined ladybugs do it,
    When a gentleman calls,
Moths in your rugs do it,
What’s the use of moth balls?

    Locusts in trees do it,
    Bees do it,
    Even overeducated fleas do it,
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love.

The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,
    Some courageous kangaroos do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I'm sure sometimes on the sly you do it
Maybe even you and I might do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love

    Thank you/maxmanson
