Lets take a look a current events then...
Shall we?
1. British Vogue.
The pictures were gorgeous.
The actual article?
Well...
Keep a few things in mind.
A. This interview took place in the
beginning of June.
The writer seems to want to make this interview
salaciously connected to the 'incident'.
It wasn't.
Real PRpro...
Had a very illuminating twitlonger
about this very thing
You see...
I realize the hyenas out there...
frothing and foaming at the mouth
want to believe that Kristen is indeed talking about
that lecherous man twice her age...
But alas... dear scavengers...
It's quite obvious who she was talking about.
Now...
I don't know if she really decided to discuss
licking under armpits (come on... you have to laugh)
or having babies (notice the plural)
Or to even 'missing my boyfriend'
It seems a bit out of character for Kristen to discuss
something so intimate and personal
But then again...
She had been a bit more vocal lately
in terms of her relationship with Robert.
So true or not
Some people got all up in arms
about Kristen talking about Rob in such a way!
How dare she!
Yes... they were lighting their torches
and polishing their halos...
because why must she keep humiliating him this way???
Yeah. Right.
This is from the same group of people
who zoom in on his crotch and blow up
endless movie scenes of Rob having sex
so they might get a glimpse
of Robert's 'package'.
They focus on Rob like he is a piece of meat
to be devoured for their satisfaction.
THAT is perfectly OK.
I'm sure Rob would be positively THRILLED
to have his crotch analyzed daily.
Not humiliating at all.
Nope.
But his GIRLFRIEND can't discuss
missing him...
gotcha.
2. The shirt.
Oh dear.
Oh my.
Does Kristen have no shame?
So sayeth the hyenas.
How desperate is she?
Is she trying to communicate with Rob?
"Oh Rob... if I wear your shirt will you talk to me?"
You see...
There's all this talk about 'ex boyfriend'
Will he take her back...
blah blah blah.
Where was it ever said they BROKE UP?
Did Rob talk about it somewhere that I missed it?
Did Kristen?
Outside of Kristen's apology to Rob...
She hasn't said a word.
Neither has Rob.
So...
The whole 'break up' is just speculation?
Of course it is.
Tabloids and Gossip sites are depending on it.
And as far as Kristen wearing Rob's shirt
(and please... you know)
So what?
She ALWAYS wears his clothes.
He doesn't seem to mind, does he?
If they were truly over...
Would she continue to do so?
Doubtful.
If you break up with someone...
you don't go wearing his stuff in public.
Especially in front of an obsessed fandom
that catalogs every item of clothing worn.
She wears his clothes because...

And because she CAN.
She has access to his wardrobe.

was seen wearing a similar necklace...
it was immediately ASSumed that the necklaces
MUST have been a gift from the director of OTR.
Well.
It turns out that there are pics of Kirsten wearing
that necklace going back to at least 2006...
AND
in a recent interview
a VIDEO interview that couldn't be misquoted...
Kristen has this to say...
WHO GAVE YOU THE NECKLACE YOU'VE BEEN WEARING RECENTLY?
"Oh…umm…you know, just a little token.
Had a birthday recently, that's all.
I found it, it just appeared somewhere
and I was like whoa,
my birthday has been so great this year!"
See what I mean?
Kristen wears that necklace because it MEANS something to her.
She wears it proudly.
She wears it EVERYWHERE.
Yes. Yes.
I know some want to think that it wasn't from Rob...
But in her OWN words...
She pretty much dispels Hyena Hearsay.
Sorry.
IF you broke up with someone...
would you continue wearing rings and necklaces from him?
Probably not.
And that leads us to...
4. Kristen at TIFF for ON THE ROAD.
She fucking ROCKED that carpet.
She fucking OWNED the night.
She looked gorgeous.
Beautiful.
Strong.
She is moving forward.
She made her mistakes...
She stumbled and fell.
But she is facing it.
She's owning up to it.
She is back on her feet.
She did great last night.
She was smiling...
She signed for fans
She posed for pictures.
She did her job.
It couldn't have been easy.
But she did what she had to do.
Just like Rob.
And then we have...
5. MTV's VMA's
Yeah, I know... what videos?
Anyway.
People were on the edge of their seats...
Hearts pumping...
Wiping their brows with anticipation
Because the host of the show
Kevin Hart (who?)
made a point of saying that he would say
whatever the hell he wanted to say.
No one was safe
(except apparently Kanye and Kim)

That wasn't so bad.

They expected him to shred her...
Rip her apart.
Trash her.
Like they do... every day.
The only people hanging on to the 'incident'
are the ones who get the most joy out of other peoples pain.
They will never let it go.
They will cling to it like a meaty bone.
And you may have noticed that I have brought out
the term Hyena again...
I put it away for quite a long time.
But in the last 6 weeks...
It is more true than it ever has been.
Foaming.
Frustrated.
Furious.
Just what will they do
IF/when Rob and Kristen are seen together again?
Bottom line.
1. Robert looked happy and handsome at the VMAs
2. Kristen looked happy and beautiful at TIFF
3. OTR is getting great reviews!
4. The only people wallowing in the mud
are the ones who belong there.
5. I adore Thomas Sturridge

Then her quote is that she recently had a birthday and it "appeared". So was the first necklace a rip-off or was your year of 2006 a typo. I'm just a little confused. Love you post today. Every time I come to your blog and see that you have a new post, I get so excited to hear your comments on recent events for our two. I agree with you. Kristen rocked the TIFF. She was then and looked a little tired. But that was to be expected. Rob looked the same way on his first NYC promo on the Daily Show.

ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong, but weren't the "quotes" from British Vogue (the ones about missing her boyfriend and the armpit thingy) not part of the actual interview? Weren't they spoken in an unguarded moment?
I'm not saying that they're wrong or misquotes, far from it. I'm just saying that Kristen could have spoken freely about that...because she thought they were off the record. But of course, unless you say, this is off the record, some journalist's (cough cough) won't even indicate that it's on the record and the next thing you know, it's there. In print.

ReplyDeleteThe articles coming out are going to be saying all kinds of things - some good, some bad - nothing unusual. The main thing I even took from the movie phone article - if she is being so tightly controlled by her PR team (which I think need to re-think their jobs cause they have done a terrible job)there is no way in hell they would approve of her wearing Rob's stuff in public unless it was ok. They want to avoid the subject but those items are reminders of Rob. She is not you or I going through a break up that a couple of friends might think we are crazy for sleeping in our ex's shirt - she is a celebrity that has every eye on her right now. She is not hiding them (the ring could be placed on a chain and concealed) but wearing them proud and the only items she is wearing is the stuff he gave her. They are front and center. I am sure she was a nervous wreck last night - jesus who wouldn't be - she is human after all. I am not a crier - never been me but you better believe the 2 things that can make me one - being extremely mad or extremely stressed out.

Lets say there were never any pictures of Kristen and that douche bag director and no one, not even Rob, ever knew about it. Don't people understand that Rob would know if it wasn't about him?? She would never do that. Especially weeks before anything ever happened with that scumbag. Watching Stand up for Cancer on E. My mother is survivor of breast cancer. Many stars and real people with cancer. The Rags could devote more time to real issues like this instead of bashing a 22-yr. old who made a mistake.

I think Dirk Nowitski, the basketball player from the Dallas Mavericks, would be a great mentor for her. He has no publicist, no agent, just close people he trusts. He doesn't understand marketing himself through magazines and commercials. And after 14 years of being in the NBA, he won his first championship! The people of Dallas celebrate with him and since he is German, so did the people of GErmany. A great role model, Mr. Dirk.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to understand this whole mag/rag thing a bit more.....I used to think buying it is ok without really thinking about why i'm buying it, but when you give an interview to these rags, you are essentially potentially selling yourself. Every freakin movie that these kids have tried to promote, Twilight thru the last movie, always has something about them personally. I think she has tried her best in the beginning to stay clear of her personal life and I think that's where the tabloids and media people hated her for it, but slowly, gradually with time, she's given a little to them here and there, and it's just enough for them to take it and run with it. When people read these rags, they are allowed to judge you on what you say, when things go wrong, they look back and use your words against you, as it happened with K. Poor girl, in this world of Twitter and access to easy gossip, it is only gonna get worse for her unless she escapes it,esp. with this crazy ass fandom or play their dirty game and remember not to allude anything to her personal life!, and I hope she steers far from it. If she really needs to do indies, do it, but keep to the movies and keep her mouth shut about everything else.

I mean, it is so sad that we somehow found out about her gold ring and who gave it to her, her necklace....the media has found a way to confirm it for us because they never intended to stop digging for dirt! She has no immediate projects lines up (this is by her choice) so who knows what she will do - once BD2 is out - promo's are over the fandom will shift.Think of Twilight in the terms of a boy band - we had new kids on the block, then nsync, backstreet boys then one direction - they move on or grow tired of it.

Hi, back, Freddie! I agree whole-heartedly with your comments. We SHOULD look at our own behavior and I think most of us would agree we've modified post "incident".
ReplyDeleteI think there's a lot of small things that objectify them, some of the more obvious, gross ones Rose mentioned. I even think calling them "kids", "baby girl", things that like should be curtailed. They're adults we respect, right?! But I'm afraid the anonymity of the internet will perpetuate those behaviors - no consequences.
"Hollywood" is K's family business. Both her parents are in it, she's been in most of her life. I don't presume to know what's best for her, so no way I'd suggest she should leave. I'm sure she'll do what works for her. Personally, I'm hoping she's keeping her schedule free so she can travel with Rob for his upcoming movies! :)

If anything, her inability to answer that repulsive and inappropriate question about whether it's a relief for her to play Marylou because she's free to do whatever she wants given the scrutiny she's under definitely shows her lack of wit. It can be due to the fact that she is still only 22 years old, a lack of confidence, vulnerability, or it can be due to the tremendous amount of stress that she is being put under. I think it's all the above. She should have answered back, "The characters I play have absolutely nothing to do with my real life. When I play a part, I give everything that I have to that character and I'm proud of the work that I did so far." And say no more, it's as simple as that.
And then to compliment her "absinthe" green eyes and say that he is in love with her, what a fucking douche. He first starts off the article by observing her mannerisms, who fucking does that shit? What a creep. Sounds like another Rupig to me. I give this man and this article a big fat thumbs down. But then again, what do you expect from The Daily Mail, right?
I remember reading somewhere or maybe it was an interview that Al Pacino gave to Charlie Rose on his show on channel 9, is it KVIE or PBS, I can't remember the network associated with Charlie Rose. Anyway, I think that was either his first ever sit down interview on a show or one of the very few times he actually attended an interview show. But I remember Charlie saying something like Al Pacino doesn't do any interviews because he doesn't feel comfortable doing them. I wish Kristen was relieved of her interview duties.

I think I'm the only one that have't seen the new BD2 trailer yet. I want to be surprised, all surprises......i can't wait.
Garret showed tremendous support for Kristen in the TIFF interviews. Nice guy. When she seemed to struggle he'd step right in and kept the interview on track. Glad he was there for her. I know they usually do a lot of solo interviews on press junkets for Twilight promo. I hope she's ready to take it on by then. Now that she's gotten her first public appearance out of the way and the response/reaction to her was quite positive I hope she can relax a little. It's evident that the last 6 weeks have taken a physical toll on her and hope she get some rest and fill out by the time we see her again.

@Topaz - I have no idea how they would handle such a thing. For the BD2 carpet I'm guessing that all of Kristen's, Rob's and the Summit/Lionsgate people will make sure any fans who want to bring that type of negativity are pushed to the side. I think they may change where fans are located as a preemptive measure. For me with every article I've read recently even if there are negative comments they are outnumbered by 5 to 1 or 10 to 1. People who hold on to anger and judgment and unforgiveness are usually very unhappy and insecure people. WHile true, sane fans who are not afraid to support her are willing to show up and proudly voice that support, a lot of the haters are cowards and will only say their vile things with the protection that the anonymity of the internet brings. For any that actually show up to boo her or Rob for that matter they will be outnumbered. Besides I think it's often paps/photographers who do that to get a reaction shot. They are childish assholes with no conscience who hunt people with the hopes of seeing them at their worst. I watched some of the 20/20 segment last night. I don't know if it was the actual photographer being interviewed but I thought it was telling that he couldn't even remember RS name. The rags intend to use Kristen to drive their profits this year just like retailers often make or break their year during the end of year holiday shopping period. For the rags this story was like a big Christmas gift to them. Parasites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I though Kristen was just so very triumphant at TIFF and showed us all that she will NOT let this scandal define her.
The media's salaciousness and nastiness over the last few weeks seems to have embolden her.
Rob did what he had to do at the shows he attended.
Are we so desperate for news that we are now looking as interviewers questions and Kristen's and Rob's answers as some tent pole of how they feel or where they stand? Really?
You do know that they are talking about the characters they play in the movies they are promoting.

ReplyDeleteI also believe if we quit buying and supporting tabloids it will bite them where it hurts in the pocket.We know they watch twitter and blogs to get ideas, so that is why we are always so careful before we post, we don't want to give them their next story.
It's nice to have great places to come to like this and a few of the other boards out there, that support and love them both, as individuals and as a couple. I refuse to go to hate filled sites, why go read lies when you can go to places that are known for only reporting the truth. I prefer happy over sad anyday.

I'm finished with radiation treatments so I'm going to CELEBRATE by treating myself to a day of pampering. First up is a mani/ pedi. Next is a trip to Nieman Marcus to pick up a bottle of Florabotanica (so excited!!!). I hear that Nieman Marcus has a big beauty event going on right now too. Honestly, this couldn't have come at a better time as my self esteem could use a little boost at the moment. Nobody talks about that side effect of Cancer. Finally, I'M GOING TO SEE COSMOPOLIS!!! :)

ReplyDeleteGreat post as always Rose.....I finally caught up on interviews for Kristen. Mixed feelings about some of them. She looked beautiful as she always does, but she looks,I think, gaunt and sad. I commend her for coming out to do this red carpet, and was happy to see so many fans there for her, cheering her on. Rob at the VMA's looked better I thought, still thin but not as. I have stayed away from the rags, as well as the television entertainment shows because really they are as bad as the tabloids. Why won't they leave these two young people alone. I get they want the hits and money it generates, but its been what? 6 weeks? There is election coverage to be done, let Rob and Kristen find peace. And that is what I hope for, between now and BD2 promo let them find some peace.

It’s really heartening to see & hear that both R & K made it through TIFF and VMA fairly unscathed.
ReplyDeleteI seriously admire Kristen for her courage and strength. I think she will be alright no matter what. And Rob looked more relaxed & that’s always nice to see. That’s what I love about these two actors. Even when forced to face the world while going through a difficult time, they act professionally and with dignity.
I respect the “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach that R & K are taking as the best way to bury this. We were privileged to witness something special, can’t ask for anything more. So support their films, follow them if you must but let things run its course & don’t expect instant gratification. I can’t control what happens so I can only hope that in time things will be resolved. Even if it takes years & no matter the outcome, I’ll be cheering for both of them at the finish line.

@ valéria - I see it different - they are not you or I - no matter what this will unfold in the public no matter what they want. By your reasoning - you are basically saying Rob never gave a shit about her and is ok with her being treated like trash - doesn't sound like a very great person right? The reason I ask is that people seem to have this idea that he needs to get up and say something, what exactly should he say? What you and a LOT of other people are not realizing is this. Kristen has apologized, not to US she apologized to Rob. That has been the only statement released. PERIOD!! IF Rob were to call a press conference today and say everything that everyone is wanting him to say, that would NOT make things easier on Kristen, it would make things HARDER. She would then be asked a million questions about what Rob just said, it would take away focus on what is important for her right this second, promoting her movie.
I think anything said or support shown is better off being said and done in private. They are human beings and their relationship is not fodder for our amusement

I see that there is still a tug of war going on between what is proper to speak about here. I know that it sounds rude when people say they miss the old regs. I think the big difference is, we used to comment in a way, at least I did, that if Rob or Kristen were to happen by this blog, nothing said would offend them. So basically, we didn't talk about them much.
When this was mentioned before, someone said if we can't talk about Rob and Kristen, then this blog will be pretty boring. If you feel that way, that right there sums it up, their lives, the good and bad, are entertainment to you. To me their lives should be private, only their acting careers should be our entertainment.
