I adore Robert Pattinson.
And yes... he looks fucking good in the above picture.

I'm sure I've used the word PROUD in the past discussing
Rob/Kristen/Tom
I guess I'm just not comfortable with the word in general
especially in terms of a Fragrance deal.
But hey... that's just me.
Being proud of someone to me...
entails more than just signing a commercial contract.
Am I happy for Rob?
Yes.
Thrilled.
Excited.
But for me to be proud of someone...
usually means they stepped out of their comfort zone...
Stepped up when it was hard to move forward
Went above and beyond what was expected of them.
I'm sorry if I don't feel that way about the Dior campaign.
I think Rob and Dior are a natural.
A brilliant pairing.
Rob's face was made for this type of thing.
I'm sure it will be ALL kinds of successful.
I think from now on...
I will leave the 'proud' moments to the people
who actually know and love Rob.
His friends.
Kristen.
And his parents.
Now they have a lot to be proud of.
And that leaves me to Kristen.
Supposedly she is on some sort of road trip.
If true...
I hope she's safe... and having fun.
It's not always the destination...
Sometimes it's just the ride.
And on my final note...
I adore BOTH Rob and Kristen.
I have never denied that I love seeing them together.
Happy.
In love.
Yes.
I want them to work out any issues they may have
and I want them to move forward together.
But again...
Contrary to idiot belief
If the day comes that I see Rob
happy and smiling with someone else
or the same with Kristen...
I won't throw myself off a bridge.
Life will go on
and I will still adore Rob and Kristen.
But the fact of the matter remains...

ReplyDeleteI stand by my comment from yesterday. I wasn’t challenging your right to have an opinion. I wasn’t even really challenging your use of the word “proud”, only questioning an apparent distinction you made between use of the term now and previous references.
You were proud of Rob, Kristen and Tom a year ago in Cannes while promoting their movies (i.e. doing their job). You were proud of Tom a month ago for acting in a play (i.e. doing his job), yet I was surprised by the distinction you made with Rob. You have responded to that, and that’s fine.
The question was stated respectfully, politely. I called you no names. And just because a person challenges you, does not make them a hater – of you, Rob, Kristen or Tom.
We used to be able to have respectful discussion around here, without being shunned or labeled. You have often said you wished people would address you directly rather than talk about you or an issue behind your back. That’s what I did. You also indicated that you welcomed diversity of opinion. Is that no longer permissible?
Hi Rose, I have read your blog for a long time and never posted my opinion but now I feel that these crazy people need to take a step back and chill. Don't they have lives? They need to worry about themselves and their families and not people they don't know. I follow some of them on twitter and I used to laugh at their comments but not any more. Rose started this blog long ago and it has been a wonderful place for many people to connect. People have copied it (yes its funny how similar some other blogs are) and some have used HER blog to promote their own blogs (talk about tacky, trashy, and classless).
But she still goes on. Posting her thoughts. Posting pretty pictures of Robbbbbbb (and the others sometimes too). Saying things that thousands feel and monitoring and allowing a community to develop on her blog. She didn't have to do that but she did and continues to do so. Its important to many of you. Most of you appreciate it and are lovely.
And yet, some fools (not all--most of you are quite nice) email, tweet and harass her in other ways. They call her names, attack her and lie about her. Why? What is it about a person expressing her opinions in a creative and honest way that causes such rage. Why are you so incredibly threatened by her. What motivated you to attack her and have to point out that you think she is wrong.
Do you hate that she is clever and talented and can express HER opinion in a way that resonates with many others.
If you don't like it...move on. Go away and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Finally, to the few among you who do fight and bicker and then threaten to "leave the blog" and blah blah blah, please for the love of all that is holy JUST FUCKING GO. Nobody really cares. And your little dramatic episodes reveal your lack of maturity and desperate need for attention. Yes I am talking about you.

ReplyDeleteI lurk mostly, but felt the need to post a comment in response to this post. I have been part of this fandom (yipes) since Twilight was written, before Rob was even cast. I became a devoted fan of his early on and still am. While I love seeing his career move ahead and evolve, I cannot understand the absolute hysteria and gushing over every single thing. I, too, would not use the term "proud." Having pride would imply I have some sort of stake in him, which I don't. But this fandom is notorious for being over the top. As you said, everyone is entitled to their opinions, it doesn't make any difference to me. What I do find funny is that some of the same people that are losing their minds over this Dior endorsement are the same people who called Kristen a sell out when she signed with Balenciaga and were "proud" of the fact that Rob would never be so shallow. Right. This isn't a bash Rob, poor Kristen post. As I said, I am a Rob fan first and foremost. I just can't stand hypocrisy. I say good for Rob for signing such a lucrative deal and capitalizing on where he is now in his career. It's not something I expected him to do, but these are his choices. I eagerly await the full commercial and his upcoming films. As for his personal life, well, it's just that, personal. I saw two people very much in love - I could see it before they even acted on it. That doesn't just go away. It may not always last forever, but that doesn't diminish what it was. Time will tell.

Totally agree. It is a cologne ad, after all. Rob used to model...anyone remember? Personally I love the Olivier Martinez ad for Yves St Laurent better...the man looks unbelievable. The commentary on Rob on other sites is truly disgusting and bordering on pornographic. And also, thanks for posting that gorgeous shot of Kristen. She looks so beautiful and natural with her shy smile. I think she has been treated terribly through this whole ordeal .....still manages to hold her head high, doesn't she?

I am a fan of Robsten and like all who are don't know what to wish for.
Good new for Rob's Dior and for Kristens Balenciaga prestigious award. HAPPY FOR THEM.
I feel Rob will be fine and he has a lot of people in his corner. I think it is tougher on Kristen and yet I know she is strong. I love this girl. I love her spirit, her talent and her resilience. I wish them the best. I loved your last blog on Love is never on time.
I felt something was off for them for some time. They spent 5yrs. living the saga that we all loved so well. Kris was only 17 and Rob 21 so young and still growing up. We don't know where this will go but I do believe true love never dies. Only time will tell.
Rob and Kristen's career are looking good.
Rob has like 3 up and coming project. Map to the Stars and I heard he plays the part of a papprazi. I wonder if he will be as ruthless. He just finished the Rover and Mission Black List. One or two other that are delayed.
Kris had Camp X-ray (July), Sils Maria end of summer, SWATH2 in Nov. and Seasons of Dust with James Franco unknown date.

What I don't like is the objectication of Rob by particular grupe of women. Do they really think Rob would be flattered if he read their lustful, disgusting comments? In my eyes, they are just being disrespectful of Rob and his work. I hate them for that.

You have an amazing soul. Rob has so many people in his corner. He's pretty, smart and nice. Kristen in the contrary has so many issues. With news that her very good friend moving has me wondering maybe she wanted to spend time with her buddies before his move? *shrugs* who knows...but why do some assume rob and Kristen had a fight? My husband is away from home half the month for work and do people we know speculate that we're separated when I'm seen alone by friends? Hell no! You know why? Because they know us. @Patty - Tornadoes were over by the airport so not close but close enough for the sirens and warnings. Really wish mother nature would take some meds because the weather here is crazy, literally waiting for it to snow or something next but the fires are out although close to 500 homes were lost. I am glad your eyes are better :)
@Tracy - my interest lies in the plants because they have not been a topic in a long while and to have lawyers involved in the fight over them they have to be pretty damn important

@Super - I saw the movie they did on it and read some of the stuff when the lake was rising with more frequent quakes up there - not going to lie scared the crap out of me so I stopped cause if it does go there is no real escape, we have a very limited time to get in a car and drive west to escape the ash, I know they believe it would cause global winter. Caldera's are mind boggling to me.

Good morning to all the Roselands! I am getting ready to go to Gyms to my rusty joint water aerobics today and tomorrow. And since I am off next week of babysitting. So I am going all week. From today til next friday. I think I am going to make that commitment. From 8am to 9:30am. Then to work from there. What do you all think? Today just just there then home. Later tonight I have book group. Like Kristen had book club. Tonight its non fiction.

What I Like About You is an all-time favorite of mine.
The loss of James Gandolfini in the film industry is a huge loss. I have always loved this man in any film I've seen with him in it. I also felt he and Kristen had a real chemistry in WTTR, a great film that didn't get the kudos it should have. Most of all prayers and sympathy for his wife and 8-mo. old dau. he has left behind. RIP, James G.

Before I start, let me just say that everyone has their own opinions, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I mean no disrespect to anyone.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity I looked at the picture that people are talking about. That is not Rob. If nothing else, compare the wrists of Kristen's friend with Rob's in the Dior ad. I know people are hungry for information and reasons for everything, but we are really not entitled to know about these aspect of their personal lives. I would feel awful for Kristen's friend to see some of this stuff that people are saying, and I really feel that people going this direction with things is disrespectful of both Rob and Kristen.
People can speculate, read and believe tabloids, and over analyze every single thing that is out there, but the truth of the matter is none of us know anything, and the people that do know aren't talking. People need to breathe and step back a bit. If we are meant to know something, we will hear it from a reliable source.
Lydia - the Robert that posts in Roseland is a college professor and musician from Louisiana, not Robert Pattinson.

ReplyDeleteFor those of you who may not have seen Welcome to the Riley's I highly recommend it. I personally thought it was Kristen's finest performance to date. (Of course I haven't seen OTR yet so I might change my mind after I do.) My two sons (Mid twenties) both got teary when they learned about James Gandolfini's passing, as did I. I wasn't a huge fan of The Soprano's, but the were. I was however, a huge fan of HIM. So sad.

I apologize for leaving that fact out of it, and I was not insinuating that anyone is a troll or hater. I do stand by the fact that I feel it is hurtful to Kristen's friend to essentially say that she looks like Rob in drag, and I feel it is disrespectful for people to say hurtful things about their friends. In my opinion,the bone structure of the person with Kristen does not appear to be consistent with Rob's. If it is proven that I am wrong, I have no problem eating crow and saying "Well done, Rob. You fooled me."

I KNOW that I am part of the problem that I am sure they wish would all go away. I feel bad and try to be the most respectful over invested fan that I can be. Trying to be respectful of them is one of the reasons a lot of us that began posting years ago started talking about other things, not just Rob, Kristen and even Tom.
As far as your question as to whether I have ever made a comment that I hope Rob and Kristen work it out if they're fighting. I don't believe I have ever posted that, though I will admit to thinking it. I guess we will have to disagree if it is disrespectful to wish for a couple to work out their differences, if that is what is best for their relationship.
If it comes out that they were together and never fought am I going to apologize for being disrespectful? I would have no problem apologizing to them if it was warranted. However, my apology would be for being an over invested fan that added to the problems they faced, and not for considering a couple in a long-term relationship may have had a fight or disagreement that I hoped they might work through. As far as apologizing for being disrespectful by posting here, I would have absolutely no problem if they were ever to read any comment that I have made here, nor would I have any problem saying those same comments to them directly.
Like I said when I started my last post, we each have our own opinions. These are mine. It is possible for us to respectfully disagree.
Am watching The Actors Studio with James Gandolfini. I got to say that he is the first heavyset man that I thought was so sexy. His voice, his presence, his body of work and his character, Tony Soprano, caused me to love him dearly.

I was reading some comments on JFK last night to get the gist of people's thought on that site. And boy do they like their jewelry theories. Why do some keep spewing "no jewelry" when it's blatantly apparent she has on rings in nola fan pic (two thumbs up)? And it's pretty hot and muggy in nola and wearing jewelry of any kind is pretty uncomfortable lol. Anyway have a great day.
