   HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!
If Looks could KILL! Nice red plaid shirt though...
OK... I know.
This isn't about my Robert Pattinson Intoxication.
Well... although he is directly involved with this.
If it wasn't for Robert
I probably wouldn't have much of an idea who Tom was...
He was pretty much on the outside of my orbit
only intersecting when pictures like the above showed up.

But.
I have to say this...
The more I know about Tom
The more I WANT to know.
The more I like.

And really whats NOT to like?
He's pretty damn cute.
He's a member of the "BritPack"
His best friend is Robert Pattinson.
He obviously adores Kristen.
Did I mention he's all kinds of cute?
He is.
All kinds.

So I couldn't put this video in my blog
because it wouldn't let me...
But just watch it.
There are all kinds of similarities with Rob...
Besides the cute.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKL3WbGsNKg

Oh so cute.

And last but not least...

Tom has a new movie coming out soon...
"Waiting for Forever"
(Out in Feb 2011)
With Rachel Bilson.
(She's all kinds of cute, too)
And this is the trailer.

Waiting For Forever.

Yes.
I still am intoxicated with Robert Pattinson.
Yes.
I still believe in Rob and Kristen.
Yes.
I'm a fan of Tom Sturridge.

Happy Birthday, Tom.
May you find
PEACE
LOVE
and
HAPPINESS.

  3. Rose,

The new banner made me laugh. How appropriate for today.

“Tom and that other guy…..” LOL. Seriously, Rob and Kristen have a great friend in Tom. Hope he has an amazing birthday and great upcoming year.

    Have a good day, Roselanders.

    Cannot wait!!!!

  5. It's hard for me to reconcile the goofball Tom we see in real life pictures and even Pirate Radio with the smoldering sexpot from photoshoots. He is such an adorable dork and now that I've seen how cute and goofy he is in Pirate Radio I just can't see him any other way. With his skinny little body he actually makes Rob look beefy. Which is a feat.

Happy Birthday cute, charming Mr. Sturridge!

  9. Happy Birthday Tom!!! May your day be as special as you are!

Liza-only fitting that you were first...

Smitty- happy to hear that you are great. Miss you around here.

Kami- love the divinity recipe. I have never made it since it is hard to make. Maybe one day I will. Your Nana sounds like she had/has a lot of spunk in her! I bet she was fun growing up.

We celebrated Christmas last night in my family because of differing schedules of everyone. I won the prize for most creative "white elephant gift"...go me!

Happy Tuesday all! I have a couple of recipes to share now that my week is getting less busy finally.

  12. You know, I always felt sorry for the kids whose birthdays were so close to Christmas. Now I feel sorry for the parents of kids with birthdays near Christmas. See how your perspective changes?

    Happy Tuesday to all.

    Melinda,
    Were your cookies appreciated?

  17. Hi Kami, Tracy, Susan, Liza, Penny, Kay, Katy, Melinda, 30 and all the rest I may have missed!!

I have been super busy lately but I had to make time to check today's post out :) Great job, Rose!! I really miss all of you and I hope after the holidays I will have a chance to be around more!

Happy Birthday, Tom!! I hope you have a day filled with peace and love with those that mean the very most to you :) Enjoy your day.

Smitty, Syd, and Gruff--have a Merry Christmas! May it be all that you wish :)

    *Massive Hugs* to you all!

  18. Penny- I guess they liked them. They were all eaten. I'm sure they appreciated it.

I agree with you and Kami about the whole December b-days thing. My brother and best friend both have b-days around Christmas. The whole present buying thing is hard sometimes.

Tracy- Were you able to salvage the roof on the house???

Liza/Angelica- forgot to tell ya'll that we did the British thing with the crackers/crowns last night at our family Christmas (didn't know that was what it was until we did it, so the question Susan asked the other day makes sense now). The kids loved it.

Hello Syd- I see you popped in and out all ninja like. Hope all is well with you. Enjoy your day.

    ReplyDelete
  19. My Darling Syd...
It's pretty obvious how I feel about you.

    Your Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Leigh!!! *hugs* Good to see you my friend :)

Melinda.. I'm sad to report that the structural deficiencies were too great to salvage the roof. The whole project had to be scrapped. I am most disappointed as it gives the kiddo bragging rights this year since hers remains intact.

And we're trying to remember the names of all of Santa's reindeer right now..

We've got Dasher and Dancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen and of course Rudolph.. but I'm missing someone..

    Help?

  21. Happy Birthday TOM have a good one and a safe one love the pic Rose. DEB.

  22. Prancer! Yes! That's it :) That would have made me crazy all day if I couldn't remember it.

It's kind of like when you try to name the seven dwarves and you're always forgetting that last one!!

So is it bad that I'm making my own child wrap some of her own Christmas gifts this year? In my defense, she did say she wanted to wrap as many gifts as she could!!

21st of Dec hey! Do you know those who are born on the 3rd,12th,21st & 30th {all #3's) Are considered "lucky"......and I do know people who are indeed #3"s and I myself can see their luck from afar......so there you go...This is not BS BTW!

  26. Melinda - It wouldn't be Christmas without the crackers, I hope you wore your hat :)

Tracy - You're just being a good parent, letting her do what makes her happy!

My niece's birthday is January 2nd. Every year we forget until the shops are closed so I end up keeping one of her Christmas presents back to give her. This year my friend, whose birthday is on Thursday,is getting married on Monday and found out today that she's having a little boy so I feel like I should buy something separate for each occasion!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. My birthday is close to Christmas.. and it gets a little worse because of the actual day it's on.. seems everybody's got plans for that day/night!!

I can see how frustrating it is though, to already be stressed about what to get someone for Christmas, and then have to turn around and get someone something for their birthdays.

I always feel bad because people get so worried about stuff like that!! And then people get worried that I'm going to get upset if they don't celebrate my birthday as well as they could if it weren't so close to Christmas!!

Mostly, I'm content if people even remember it ;)

And Angelica.. I honestly did try to win this year.. but I got faulty materials.. but I'm a gracious loser and an let her enjoy talking smack to me for a few days because her house survived... plus, she's recovering from an injury.. so I'll be evn nicer than usual :)

    There's always next year!!

  44. Here's something we like to have on Christmas Eve.

    Mulled Cherry Wine

1 Bottle Cherry Wine preferably a tart cherry wine
    12 oz water
    3/4 cup white sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ground clove
A couple sprinkles of ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients into sauce pan and stir well.
Heat gently, but DO NOT boil or stir again.
All of the spices will float to the top. Skim off the spices and serve.

  45. Kami,

I meant to say you have not been a grumpy butt. My attempt at reassurance fell flat. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh Kami.. be careful about those stairs! Kiddo learned that lesson last Friday!

And Cate... no arrests yet. But I'm sure I'll probably at some point be a repeat offender.

  49. My family loves this recipe from Paula Deen. Great on a cold winters night or for an upcoming New Year's shindig.

    Taco Soup

    Ingredients
    2 pounds ground beef
    2 cups diced onions
    2 (15 1/2-ounce) cans pinto beans
    1 (15 1/2-ounce) can pink kidney beans
1 (15 1/4-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
    1 (14 1/2-ounce) can Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
    1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes
    1 (14 1/2-ounce) can tomatoes with chiles
    2 (4 1/2-ounce) cans diced green chiles
1 (4.6-ounce) can black olives, drained and sliced, optional
1/2 cup green olives, sliced, optional
    1 (1 1/4-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (1-ounce) package ranch salad dressing mix
    Corn chips, for serving
    Sour cream, for garnish
    Grated cheese, for garnish
    Chopped green onions, for garnish
    Pickled jalapenos, for garnish

    Directions
Brown the ground beef and onions in a large skillet; drain the excess fat, then transfer the browned beef and onions to a large slow cooker or a stockpot. Add the beans, corn, tomatoes, green chiles, black olives, green olives, taco seasoning, and ranch dressing mix, and cook in a slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours or simmer over low heat for about 1 hour in a pot on the stove. To serve, place a few corn chips in each bowl and ladle soup over them. Top with sour cream, cheese, green onions and jalapenos.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Have to add to the taco soup recipe if you decide to try it out...

The "scoops" corn chips are better than regular corn chips. I use the scoops as a spoon to eat the soup with.

    _____________________________

Angelica- glad to hear he is making it home today/tonight.

Tracy- you know there is someone out there who would think it highly funny to steal the do not shoplift sign...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I will defiantly be checking out his new movie, no doubt. I did see Pirate Radio on HBO, I was impressed.

Rose, you are one awesome person.

  52. Melinda..I have eaten another version of Taco soup before but never made it..Thanks for the recipe..it sounds yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  53. This is completely off topic.

Have any of you noticed how twitter and texting have completely annihilated the English language? We have acronyms for everything now and "totes" where the fuck does that come from?

Just a pet peeve of mine. Now I'm the grumpy butt.

    ReplyDelete
  54. LOL I have no idea where any words come from...right now I'm just impressed that I have been able to somewhat coherently type what I have...considering I'm drunk typing..BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS...I haven't fallen down the stairs...Yet!

Totes? Isn't that luggage? sorry...yall I'm kinda out of it

    ReplyDelete
  55. Penny - I know what you mean,I do use them but I have to have proper punctuation or it drives me mad :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Penny...

You are right the English language has gone to the wayside in this world of technology. I am guilty as charged. Sometimes I do it and sometimes not. Depends on the mood. If I do anything it is most likely saying things like ffs, btw, jsyk, etc. "Totes" is short for totally by the way.

We all have our own pet peeves and you aren't being a grumpy butt! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ PL I actuall used "TOTES" to show a certain s/one I was refering to them too.
So my opinion on acronyms? To tell you the truth i CBF on acronyms .....BTW lololol
I just learnt CBF from my 14yo too....So now this is a pet 'fav of mine ATM......lol

    ReplyDelete
  58. Rose,
Another reason I love this blog is it is not just about Rob, but also those people that are important in his life. I have always loved the picture you used for the banner. I would imagine a night with those two would be a riot. It is very cool that those bonds remain so important to them.
I think 2011 will be an exciting year for Tom, as well as, Rob and Kristen.
    Melinda,
Thank you for the taco soup.I have a very similar recipe, but yours has a few more ingredients that would be an improvement.
    Tracy,
Great idea to combine the bean dips. They sound delicious.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Melinda,

I think we are all guilty of using the acronyms. I'm just afraid that 30 years from now the Inauguration speech will be all acronyms and "like" and "totes".

I did know what totes meant I just don't understand why we use it.

Thanks for the soup recipe. I'm always looking for new recipes during the everlasting cold months.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Someone bring me a Peppermint Stinger--STAT!

    Aaaaagh!!!!!!

Just had to get that out of the way.

    Susan

    :o)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Penny, my friend, you made me chuckle with your thoughts on the Inaugural speech in 30 yrs. You may be right on that account.

I misread your "totes" comment and thought you didn't know what it was short for. I don't know why we shorten things. Easier and faster than typing it out properly?

For those thanking me for the taco soup recipe...you're welcome.

Off too bed cause I'm becoming a sleepyhead...

  62. Hey Everyone!

I do so hope Thomas had or is having a lovely birthday wherever he may be! How lucky Robert and Kristen are to have a friend like him:)

Hope everyone had a good day today. I did a little candy making and baking finally, and may or may not have made myself a lil sick on sugar cookie dough...lol!

As much as I'm not in the 'Christmas spirit' this year, for some strange reason I'm ahead of schedule on everything. Presents are all wrapped and baking is done. I can't quite figure that out...

    ReplyDelete
  63. Susan, I hope you enjoy YOUR's as much as I enjoyed mine

    ReplyDelete
  64. BTW...I'm totes guilty of the acronym thing;)

It is such fun to wish a total stranger something good, and I do you. Something very good, for Tom Sturridge, aged 1/4 century old.

    Your song dedication is:

Show Me The Way To Go Home

The Hunger Mountain Boys 4 Tom:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw0XSkpHvBE

Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and I want to go to bed.

Had ten drinks about an hour ago
And it's gone right through my head.

    Wherever I may roam
    On land, sea or foam,

You can always hear me singing this song,
Show me the way to go home.

How dry I am, how dry I am
Nobody knows how dry I am

I sold my hands, I sold my shoes
For one more drink of the good old booze

You can always hear me singing this song,
Show me the way to go home.

(A totally strange, stranger from Rose's blog)

    Thank you/lifeisasoundtrack

You're funny. I do like Port, and most everything in that area of living/enjoying, for I've had a lifetime of discovery to get there.

And going down the garden path along with Bren, is a true pleasure.

Have a good day, and Happy Holidays!

    DK

  74. @Smitty
It's so nice to know that you read the early morning comments, and that you just love the whole history of music I post, often with you in mind (and darling Syd).

May you and Gruff have the happiest of holidays ever!

And, oh, I'm so thankful for the fun and cheery times, we've all shared on Roseland.

May the good times roll in 2011, too.

You should talk, the one who leads me down the garden path!

    How goes it?

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Bren
The blog is being weird and tries to make me post the same comment, over and over. Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Bren
What's really funny about the blog's weirdness, is that the comment it wants me to repeat, over and over, is the one about you leading me down the garden path.

Is it your doing and where are you really leading me?

    ReplyDelete
  81. @Bren
Right now I am feeling rather insulted!

It's not only the fact that as usual, you leave me a message and then depart for a long time.

But to add insult to injury, when I was talking to my sister a short while ago, she began to snore in my ear, if you can believe that?

Thank goodness I just picked up a special Snore No More or No More Snoring pillow as a gift for myself, just in case I need it, I can now give it to her instead.

Will that solve the problem of her falling asleep while we are talking on the telephone?

No, it won't but at least she will not be snoring in my ear, right?

I mean after all, I do not snore, that I know of, only breath loudly, deeply and fully. Don't need that special pillow, natch.

    ReplyDelete
  82. @Bren
    Oh, and another insult...

Remember H who grabbed me close, hugged me and kissed my hair last week? Well, I saw him tonight and he acted like he didn't even recall doing that. Hmmph.

To get back at him for that, I told him that I mentioned him on the blog and he is a featured player.

He was surprised but not seemingly unhappy about it, maybe even flattered, as I told him that you think, he and I should date.

That remark did cause something like alarm to flash in his eyes. Or it might have been a trick of the light around the bar, don't you think, Bren?

Guess he has just realized that he may be the subject of my blogging on Roseland, in future, and that was not at all alarming, I'm sure, but disarming for sure, don't you think, Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  83. There you go hallucinating again...

Sorry, I got stuck on a call, my brother and his family are in Arizona at his father in laws, and will be here tomorrow..can't wait.

So why don't you blame it on the bossa nova, instead of me...

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Bren
Don't worry, Bren, I will blame you for lots of things over the next few days, when your brother is with you, and your are not on Roseland.

I can also find another dance number to blame it on, in your name, also.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Is this the I want your panties on the floor guy?

OMG, men are suckers, saying hi flatters them...(just kidding, don't everyone jump me at once)

Soooo...I'm waiting for the rest of the story...did you take them off..LOL

    ReplyDelete
  86. @Bren
    H. may be playing coy with me instead, don't you think, Bren?

Now he has decided to let whomever wins him at the charity auction on NYE, have their way with him. Such a tease!

As if, he would allow that kind of freedom of his person, when in the past he said he wouldn't lift a finger to assist the winner, in any way.

He must be a very modest, genteel man to have such a high value for himself and his charms.

Why, I did ask him if he has always been that way, and he told me that he is a reformed character for he used to be, used a lot in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  87. @Bren
I'd almost forgotten about that man "R" who you thought was into panty action.

Really, it was the lust-filled fandom who were watching the WFE trailer and Chris W. who produced the lustful panties on the floor idea.

Which by the way Bren, you ran with that idea, didn't you Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  88. I really believe he and my sister-in-law will stay at mom's...probably the kids will stay here...his kids and mine are intertwined agewise...so they love to hang out together...

So, I can still come on the board and bug you on a nightly basis..aren't you the lucky one..

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sounds like this auction dude, wants you to be the highest bidder, if he is already giving you a preview of what you can/can't do with him....are you bidding?

    ReplyDelete
  90. @Bren
Another insult is bubbling up in my mind....

My brother (silent farter) and his wife are concerned, that I may not pay the entire amount due for my holiday drinks at our Thursday meal!

They do not feel that they should have to chip in for my excessively expensive cocktail choices. Can you believe that?

My brother was going to treat the four of us to dinner but now that I have been conned into coordinating the whole thing, I've invited 11 more folks.

How does that increase my bar bill and the chance that I won't pay for all of my cocktails, eh, Bren?

The nerve of some folks who con others into doing things and then accuse them of not doing other things, like they would do, in any case.

Like pissin' in the wind, family stuff is sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @Bren
If you will recall my comments from that day, discussing his will do, will not do, then he is not previewing but reviewing.

H and I both agreed (not to each other) that we would do nothing for the winners, and allow nothing to be done, and I wrote that I would be doing that much better than he (one upmanship is alive and well in DK).

Will I bid on H? Now that depends.

Will I go there on NYE?

Will I go somewhere that has music, dancing, well-dressed men?

Will I stay home and ....no.

So much time and so little to decide, don't you think Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  92. All I can say is you always need a drink around family...

    ReplyDelete
  93. @Bren
Yes, that's true, I always do. How did you know, Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Is this an annual auction? How high do the bids go, and is he even worth it? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  95. @Bren
I keep forgeting to wear my bright and beautiful purple vinyl boots!

It was really foggy here today, and just perfect for wearing those boots.

They would keep my feet dry, make a bold fashion statement, (if anyone could see them, that is, through the fog) and justify my buying them.

Do you think that I forgot them, Bren or did the little wee ones, move them out of my sight, so I would?

Wonder if they are in my closet or out walking in the fog without me? What do you think, Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  96. @Bren
He might fetch $20 or even more.

It is for the Animal Welfare charity, so maybe he could be bid even higher, say $22.

I am not insulting him, not me who feels so insulted tonight, but it is a bar named Jokers, so how high do you think folks there will bid, Bren?

Everything is a big joke at Jokers, see the humor, Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Is he a nice guy?

I don't know, if he was used so much before, when did he start thinking he's a goddess?...

you think men use women? I believe women use men a lot more...

    ReplyDelete
  98. @Bren
Tsk, tsk, for your opinions on who is being used the most, Bren! Dish more...

I confess that H said tonight that he used to be a manwhore but is reformed.

Actually, I said, didn't you used to be a manwhore, and he said, he is trying to get away from being that. Same difference?

What does Bren think about manwhores?

    ReplyDelete
  99. @Bren
Sorry, you asked if he is nice. Don't know.

He has a melodious voice, great smile, laughs a lot, and is sensible and smart.

Nice? Would any of those qualities make him nice, Bren?

    He drinks Bud Light, nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  100. You are not serious,LOL 20 bucks..

He deserves to be used for that price....I thought you were going to tell me a hell of a lot more money...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Hello ladies!

Miss being here. How are you? Im too lazy today to read all your posts.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @Bren
I think that I feel somewhat insulted by him (surprised?) that he didn't suggest that I be auctioned off for the good of the animals!

That would be the way to flatter and cajole me into bidding that $20
or more on him. Bid on me, at least $20, and I'll do the same.

    Don't you think so, Bren?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Believe me you don't want to know what I think of manwhores...

Not one of my favorite subjects...ask Gin.

Hi Ginny!..Did you have fun today??

Birdie's fine, i guess lol. Maybe busy preparing for work or doing chores.

Hey how is the weather back there? I watched the news the other day and it seems you had a snow storm.

    ReplyDelete
  108. @Gwen
On cloud 9? That means you are happy for some reason, right?

You didn't meet them and they didn't win, so what are you happy about Gwen?

  109. Good early morning "Night Owls"...I can join ya for a bit....So how are we this fine day/morn/whatever? lol

    ReplyDelete
  110. Hello Southerncross, do join us.

    DK
just becoz, lol. Though i didnt get the chance to meet them, i always see them on news these past few days. And its 2 days b4 xmas eve!

    ReplyDelete
  111. @Gwen
Birdie wrote a comment the other day that she's been catching up on sleep, she is so busy.

Yet, she posts comments, almost every day around 3pm or so, chatting with other Roseland buddies, and not at all at 5am, like she used to, for chats with me.

But I feel a little insulted, cause she started sleeping in and catching up the very next day after we were chatting here.

Wondering if she said something, that made me say something, which caused us both to be insulted, and needing a break from each other?

    What do you think Gwen?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Hi Bells,

    How are you?

You don't have to read the comments, they're all about booze and sex...just the usual...oh and I think there's a little bossa nova in the mix..

    ReplyDelete
  113. DK
well it seems that she suddenly disappears again. Maybe she fell asleep. Hmm wonder what/who keeps her busy? 8-)

    ReplyDelete
  114. @Gwen
If you did decide to not be lazy and did read the comments from earlier, although Bren is right about them, you would learn about the weather here, and my purple boots which may be out walking without me.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Hey Gwen..how are you sweetie?

DK you complain far to much.....as usual!lol
If you must know ...YES i am sleeping in a lil more of late......A girl needs her beauty sleep....Does she not?..lol

    Bren......yes sex, booze & bossa nova...well that sounds interesting!....lol

    ReplyDelete
  116. @Gwen
You could be talking about either Bren, Birdie or Southercross or all three! They get busy, disappear and who knows why?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Bren! Didnt see you there.

    DK
its cute when you two banters, lol

    ReplyDelete
  118. Hello SC,

Nice that you dropped in...how the hell have you been?

    Bells,

Is the new love, the football player?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Southerncross
oh im happy and fine. DK always complains or just doing her monologue thing, lol. Hence Smitty, Syd and Gruff and the rest enjoys her music.

    ReplyDelete
  120. @SoCross
You are making me so cross!

And I am feeling a tiny bit insulted, while I'm at it.

It is not complaining when you have been insulted!

It is explaining the injury, in no uncertain terms, and taking responsibility for your own feelings of being insulted.

Thus, it is a simple matter of getting to the heart of the insult, as quick as may be, and to project the reason for the insult, into other's minds for their agreement that the insult was truly insulting.

    ReplyDelete
  121. DK "get Busy" you say...wellllllll
tis the busy season?. Tomorrow I will be starting to prepare some dishes as I will have the 'fam' here lunch on Christmas day....

Bren....How the hell have you been? lol
    Im fine....

Gwen what do you mean by banters?
    Or shouldn't I ask? lol

  124. DK FFS you've lost me......But in a way I am glad ....I don't think I want to take that any further? Perhaps this is a wise choice.....What about that DK...
As for insulted.......you know someone once told me to ......to.....get....a.....llll...!
I took those fine words and did just that.....Now then....perhaps I should give you something in return.....or perhaps...lol I should say 'dito"!......should I not...... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  129. @Gwen
Did you just insult me or was I only thinking that you did?

This is too much for me tonight! Why do I draw insults wherever I go?

I mean Gwen, to insinuate that S, S, & G and the rest of Roselanders, ignore, I say again, and again, ignore, my fine expostualtions on all things of great interest, and prefer the music I post!

Well, I'll be.....no, I am insulted, so there.

    ReplyDelete
  137. @Ginny
I see you, there at work and trying not to laugh too loudly at Bren. She is a funny lady.

Come on, pick some weird moniker, sign up and join in, so I can be insulted by you, too. It would be my just desserts, don't you think?
(I'm waiting for your own personal brand of insult.)

    ReplyDelete
  138. Good morning Bren, Gwen, SC and of course,"O' Sensitive One" DK,
Yes, I was awakened by someone grumbling about me and I am very sensitive to that.
Dk,I think you should quit worrying about who gets up in the morning and Buy That Man! Now, that is the ticket!

    ReplyDelete
  139. SC,

I was just bragging about me still being full from eating all day at work, and now that you mention all this food...suddenly I'm hungry again..sounds delish.

    Gwen,

WOW girl, you want the whole team...too funny.

OK, guys-- I'm posing a ?, DK and I were discussing manwhores...What are some of your thoughts..

    ReplyDelete
  140. SC,
I really hope that meal is potluck or do you do all the cooking?

    ReplyDelete
  141. @SoCross

Gwen should babble on and no, I don't mind, for I am restored to myself.

The worst kind of insult is someone thinking that I am serious about ANYTHING silly that I write!

Your holiday meal sounds delectable, SC, and you must be a great cook, too.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I have to go for a bit....But I will BRB in about 20 min.....
If you are all still hanging around ....I will see ya then..If not g'nite/ g'day

    ReplyDelete
  143. I was married to one, unbeknownst to me. So what was the question?

    ReplyDelete
  144. @Birdie
What? You end with a question but start with the answer!

    Very clever.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Bren
na-ah i dont like manwhores. What about them?

    ReplyDelete
  146. @Gwen
I don't need to google the whole team, as Bren said, you want them all or any one of them.

They are all handsome you said, so, no need for googling.

I trust your taste and judgement, when you are not flinging insults my way, that is. Flinging is in bad taste, indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Birdie,

No question really, DK just said the man she should buy, used to be a manwhore..I also think she should buy him, use him like a tissue, and toss him.LOL

I'm sorry you had one in your life...

    ReplyDelete
  148. I would suppose that first statement probably is an inclination on how I feel on the subject of manwhores! HAHA!
You see I can now laugh and get the last laugh where that one is concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Birdie,

    I forgot to add...once a cheater, always a cheater..

    ReplyDelete
  150. @Birdie
I sampled Chanel Chance de tendre today and it is nice. There are so many new Chanel fragrances, aren't there?

Dolce & Gabonna has one that smells like baby powder, that I didn't try but will.

Let's take a poll! Who thinks smelling like a baby is sexy? Come on, Ginny, fess up.

    ReplyDelete
  151. DK
right you are, it the whole team, lol.

    Bren,DK
ok i dont get the 'buy' man thing. What is that suppose to mean?

    ReplyDelete
  152. Gwen,

I never knew you were into team sports...

You always wanted to jump off a cliff, or be eaten by a lion...LOL

    ReplyDelete
  153. @Bren
What would it make me to use H and toss him away, a womenwhore?

Are you perhaps hinting at an insult about me, using tissue and tossing to start one?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Is he a self-professed reformed manwhore? Tread lightly and be prepared to follow Bren's suggestion. Although, I am sure DK is quite capable of taming a restless heart.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Oh i like baby smell, well you all know that lol

    ReplyDelete
  156. @Gwen
If I was nice, and after all of this abuse, I don't feel nice, I'd explain the buying a man thing.

Instead let me just say-read the earlier comments for the answers.

    There-take that, Gwen!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Gwen,

A man who has the hots for DK is going to be auctioned off for charity, and he made it clear to DK, if she is the "ONE" to win him....she can pretty much do anything she wants to him...(kinky stuff) and he won't mind...but he used to be a manwhore...so she doesn't know if he's worth the time she would spend devouring him little by little...Do I have the story right, DK?

    ReplyDelete
  158. @Birdie
You hit the nail with the head on it.

Taming a restless heart does not appeal to me. Why, what were you trying to say about me, with that remark?

    Do I sense an insult?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Bren,
Alas, unfortunately that cheater statement is all to true with rare exceptions.
    Gwen,
Have you added more team members to your list of drool-worthy men? You are increasing your odds at actually meeting one.

    ReplyDelete
  160. @Bren
My feet are cold. Run out and get my boots. Please.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Oh My God,DK,
Where is all the paranoia coming from? I think I must tread lightly around you! Actually, I meant that as a compliment. Who has stepped on your toes? (yes, I am being silly too)

    ReplyDelete
  162. Bren
lol thats what you get raised w/ boys.

Ohh...hmm, i'll leave that to DK to decide.

Ok im off now, gotta go home. See ya later ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Oh Lady,

I thought you would love my version...was the kinky stuff, a tad too much?...hmmm, maybe..LOL

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
and feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way.

But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
from up and down, and still somehow
    it's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way that you feel
as every fairy tale comes real; I've looked at love that way.

But now it's just another show. You leave 'em laughing when you go
and if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now,
from give and take, and still somehow
    It's love's illusions that I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say "I love you" right out loud,
dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way.

But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say I've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now, give and take,
from win and lose, and still somehow
    It's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

  165. Sorry DK,

The boots along with Elvis have left the building...

Darn California, throwing us more rain they don't want.

R is wrong about you, don't worry, there is hope for you yet.

No one has stepped on my toes, as I did not go out yet, for I need my purple boots back from NM, Bren!

  167. @Bren & Birdie and Myself

Well, if that doesn't beat all!

Gwen has managed to insult all three of us with her parting comments.

To call us ladies, after all of the booze, sex, manwhoring, kinky talk, what an insult!

And, she blew us off to go home and suggested she would not talk with us again today.

Probably she doesn't like our personal brand of ladies, eh?

  168. It was nice to see a post from Smitty again...Hope her holidays are filled with mucho love...

  171. The Ladies Who Lunch

    Elaine Stritch nails it:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfSp21eMLN0

Here's to the ladies who lunch--
    Everybody laugh.
    Lounging in their caftans
    And planning a brunch
    On their own behalf.

    Off to the gym,
    Then to a fitting,
    Claiming they're fat.
    And looking grim,

    'Cause they've been sitting
    Choosing a hat.
Does anyone still wear a hat?
    I'll drink to that.

And here's to the girls who play smart--
    Aren't they a gas?
    Rushing to their classes
    In optical art,
    Wishing it would pass.

    Another long exhausting day,
    Another thousand dollars,
    A matinee, a Pinter play,
    Perhaps a piece of Mahler's.
    I'll drink to that.
    And one for Mahler!

And here's to the girls who play wife--
    Aren't they too much?
    Keeping house but clutching
    A copy of LIFE,
    Just to keep in touch.

The ones who follow the rules,
And meet themselves at the schools,
Too busy to know that they're fools.
    Aren't they a gem?
    I'll drink to them!
    Let's all drink to them!

And here's to the girls who just watch--
    Aren't they the best?
    When they get depressed,
    It's a bottle of Scotch,
    Plus a little jest.

    Another chance to disapprove,
    Another brilliant zinger,
    Another reason not to move,
    Another vodka stinger.
    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!
    I'll drink to that.

So here's to the girls on the go--
    Everybody tries.
    Look into their eyes,
And you'll see what they know:
    Everybody dies.

A toast to that invincible bunch,
    The dinosaurs surviving the crunch.
Let's hear it for the ladies who lunch--
    Everybody rise!
    Rise!

    Thank you/TheReturnofStephan1

I couldn't see a thing of the eclipse but a kind friend sent me a photo of one part-so beautiful

    @Bren
Yes, Smitt stopped in and popped out and happiness is sure to follow such as she...I agree.

    @Bren
My boots were made for walking and that's just what they'll do! One of these days, they're gonna walk all over you.

  175. DK yes. great song choice....although I'm not sure about your "boots" comment?
    Goodnite Gwen.

    ReplyDelete
  176. DK,

If I had opened the door your boots would of come in and walked all over me tonight...

  177. @Birdie
    You tease!

As you are aware, the comments don't always post in the order we wish they would, where we intended them to be.

But sometimes, there is divine intervention, and they are in the exactly perfect order, they need to be.

  178. I was referring to the Joni Mitchell song. Not that the 2nd one wasn't great, said with just the right amount of ass kissing.
Bren, yes I have to work 12 hours, my new shift. I am still adjusting(why I am so tired, thank you very much, for those that question my sleeping habits).

  179. @SC
Those are lyrics from a song about boots sung by Nancy Sinatra.

I don't think I can even speak a sentence without using lyrics to express myself! Whoa, did I just?

  180. TO my partners in crime,

I must zoom off, that song that DK just posted, reminded me that I promised myself to go to the gym everyday for these two weeks...(I am eating like a freaking pig)..I really overstayed my welcome tonight...and I do have to get up--somewhat early.

    So good-night everyone...its been fun.

    Later.

The Joni song was for Gwen and her saying she is on cloud 9 and I thought of clouds in my coffee, no, wait, looking at clouds from both sides now.

Some people, some very special, nice and caring people, take note of other people's sleeping habits, to gauge the health and attitude of each.

    ReplyDelete
  183. see ya Bren.....please, please dont over do it in the gym......why we dont want an exahausted Brenny now......do we?lol

  188. @SC
When I finally face the day, clothed, fed and coffeed, I will hit the grocery stores to buy the ham, and other foods for Christmas Day dinner.

Then, I will call all of the people, places and things that expect me to call them, and get on with decorating/cleaning of my abode.

Oh, going out to dinner on Thursday, so life is looking good, like I will be.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Well that sounds brilliant! lol
