Ok here's a few Christmas drink Recipes, Susan you suggested doing a cocktail recipe exchange but have never said when so here's my contributions
ReplyDeleteEggnog Drink Recipe
1 cup Cognac
2 cup Cream
6 each Eggs
2 cup Milk
1 pinch Nutmeg
1 cup Rum
1 cup icing Sugar
Separate eggs. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks, sugar, rum, cognac, milk, and cream until smooth. Chill in refrigerator overnight. When ready to serve, put in the refrigerated rum, mix, and serve
Candy Cane Drink Recipe
1 part Lemon Lime Soda
1 part half-and-half Cream
0.75 oz Creme de Cacao
0.25 oz Grenadine
0.75 oz Peppermint Schnapps
Mix together with crushed ice in a glass and garnish with mint leaves.
Coco Candy Cane Drink Recipe
1/2 oz Creme de Cacao
1/2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
1/2 oz OVAL Vodka
Put ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Rim a martini glass with crushed candy canes. Strain into glass either straight up or over crushed ice. Put a small candy cane to hang over the edge of the glass.
Grinch’s Christmas Drink Recipe
1 oz Melon liqueur
1 oz Sweet and Sour mix
1 oz Triple sec
3 oz OVAL Vodka
Mix together with crushed ice in a glass, garnish with mint leaves, and serve!
North Pole Drink Recipe
1 each Egg Whites
1 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Lemon juice
1/2 oz. Maraschino
Whipped Cream
Shake all ingredients (except whipped cream) with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with whipped cream and enjoy.
Butterfly Kisses
2 oz. vanilla-infused vodka
1 1/2 ounces Frangelico
1 cinnamon stick
Chill a martini glass. Shake liquids in crushed ice and strain into glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick, and enjoy!
Coffee Nut
1 oz. Amaretto
1 oz. Frangelico
Hot black coffee
2 oz. cream or whipped cream
Pour ingredients except cream into a mug. Top with whipped cream or cram poured over the back of a spoon to float on top.
Santa Is Coming Drink Recipe
1/2 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps
1/2 oz. Melon liqueur
1/2 oz. Rumplemintz
Layer in a large shot glass, top with whipped cream “snow”. This will warm you up!!
White Christmas Drink Recipe
1 oz Godiva Liqueur
1 oz Peppermint Schnapps
1/4 tsp
Vanilla Extract
2 oz OVAL Vodka
Mix together with crushed ice in a glass and garnish with mint leaves and enjoy!
Santa’s Little Helper Drink Recipe
5 oz Apple Juice
1.5 oz Apple Schnapps
1.5 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
1.5 oz Cinnamon Schnapps

ReplyDeleteOooh a post to warm the cockles of my heart today Rose....Rob really is extremely handsome :-) I too can't wait for WFE, loved the book and I'm sure the film will be brilliant.
Okay here's a recipe for you.....
SPOTTED DICK
Ingredients
50g butter
350g plain flour
3 tsp baking powder
140g shredded suet
85g caster sugar
115g currants
finely grated zest and juice of 2 lemons
75 ml milk
75 ml whipping cream
custard or clotted cream, to serve
Method
1. Soften half the butter and use to grease a 1.4 litre pudding basin.
2. Combine the flour, baking powder, suet, sugar and currants in a large bowl, mixing well.
3. Melt the remaining butter and stir into the flour mixture.
4. Stir in the lemon juice and zest.
5. Combine the milk and cream in a small jug. Slowly stir enough into the mixture to bring it to a dropping consistency.
6. Pour the mixture into the pudding basin. Cover with a double layer of greaseproof paper (make a pleat in the middle to allow for expansion), tied in place with string.
7. Place the basin in a steamer basket set over boiling water. Cover and steam for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours until cooked. Check the water level now and again to make sure it doesn't burn dry.
8. Serve with custard or, if you're feeling wicked, a big dollop of clotted cream.

Well, I just saw the clip and though it was short,I have a very ,very good feeling about this movie. It is a wonderful story and it has all the right people in place. If you think Rob looks good in these pictures, get a load of his expressions in this clip. I have seen alot of handsome men over the years, but there is something about this man. I cannot not wait for April.

TEETH...I agree...his LOOKS are so complex..(i cant think of a better word)...help me guys if you can think of a better description. He completely "embodies" the character he is playing..and his LOOKS are so varied depending on so many factors..what he's wearing, the style and color of his hair. In some pictures, he looks sort of ordinary but in 99 percent of them he is breathtaking...I mean you just have to pause and marvel at the handsomeness of that man...I have never had ANY mans LOOKS affect me like that. NEVER EVER...lol
ReplyDeleteI think this will be a tearjerker. The last time I saw Hal Holbrook(who I have always loved) was coincidentally in "Into The Wild". He made me cry in that movie. I saw 2 seconds of his chin trembling and I could cry. He is perfect as the older Jacob. Reese looks beautiful, Christoph menancing and I'm not sure I'll survive 2 hours of Rob looking tender(or any other facial expression). I am also a major sap for stories involving animals.

Rob has the most unbelievable range of emotion; his body language, facial expressions, and an eloquence and grace in his physical being are mesmerizing.
My first thought after seeing the trailer was: OMG, heaven help us, Rob has yet again stolen our hearts and minds! Love that short hair and period garb.
How exciting for Rob to be involved with Oscar winners Reese and Cristoph, also Emmy and Tony winner, Hal Holbrook. This movie looks like it will be huge at the box office.

No, we didn't use Baileys as she didn't want it for work!
ReplyDeleteThe first batch from scratch with nuts is very good. The second we were short on sugar and they are fair. She is not happy...but needs to go to bed right now.
Now she's talking about getting up at 7am to bake some sugar cookies (packaged) before work. She is a glutton for punishment, but I'm proud of her stick-to-it-ness.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how much I am considering baking those cookies for her, but she resents my interference most times, so I need to let her do "her own thing", right?

ReplyDeleteI got a jury server inquiry for the county today. When asked if I have a preference to serve, I said June. Hopefully, I won't be living in this county then, lol.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'd mind serving, it would be fascinating to do it, if I were chosen. My famous sense of humor would have to be left at the door of the jury room, I think.

Hmm, that would make a good story to write about, and I perhaps could meet another love of my life during the process, you never know!
Actually, I always make tamales for xmas, but I found someone last year who will make them for me..LOL.....they are really delish....so she's making them again this year..
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor is on vac this week also, and we got together this morning and went walking....we used to do this everyday for years, well this was when we worked the same days..I did this after only 4 hrs sleep...

It is visually striking, the cast and scenes especially, and I look forward to seeing it.
Am funny about one thing, and that is watching elephants or any wild animals doing tricks-makes me want to cry, it seems so sad.
Of course, I don't go to zoos or circuses for that very reason. Been like this since I was a child. Must have had a trauma somewhere that I don't remember.
Oh, and I don't like caged-anything.
Not even people in cages (prisons) but I am realistic.

That will be just fine for there are some really moving parts, especially in the book.

I was lucky to experience some of our friends cooking, when I was young. They were a Mexican family and their food excellence, set the standards for eating that cuisine, for the rest of my life, yum.
I did see the trailer a few times, seems pretty good....I read the book, and I still believe Reese is too old for that part..she's ten years older than Rob...I read the book a long time ago, but if I remember correctly, I think Marlena was like 21...

I think they are Betty Boop, TinkerBell and Eeyore. Needing to have fun wearing such things and to encourage happy Disney type dreams.
Certainly, when my Cass saw them, she said they will keep all of the "hot" men that I say are after me-far, far away if they get this far, lol.

ReplyDeleteRose, I don't even know what to say after the trailer - just when I think I am getting my emotions under control about this man, out comes the works - the baby, the trailer. I actually have to stop to take a deep breath to look at the pics,videos, etc. When I watched the trailer I was in awe how he comes across in that small amount of time as a totally different personm character - no Edward anywhere, which I'm sure is what he is tying to do. I think he will be absolutely amazing. This movie will be incredible and I can not wait. What is it about this man that makes 30, 40, 50 year old women get jello legs? I've never reacted to any other famous person in this way and it just baffles me. And when I saw him in this trailer, I just got big ole tears in my eyes. OK I'm babbling now but just had to get some feelings out. Hard to express but when I look at him, I just lose it. What a beautiful man!
ReplyDeleteI love the rosey tint rob has to his skin when he was filming WFE. He was out in the sun almost every day. Lord, I think about this man every day. What an addiction, one that I don't think I will ever get over. I was really in love with Elvis Presley but it was nothing like this. I think I need help.
