Wine, Popcorn and Robert Pattinson.

Let's all go to the lobby
Let's all go to the lobby
Let's all go to the lobby
To get ourselves a treat.

Got your popcorn?
A nice big glass of...
Well
Depending on what time of day
I guess it could be soda
or wine
or beer
or wine
Wine and Popcorn?
Oh hell...
Wine goes good with anything.
Or nothing.
Who needs popcorn?

I've decided to talk about Robert's movies today.
Since he's not giving me much else to discuss.
I mean..
How many times do I have to say
Robert and Kristen are in love?
Exactly.

So since first and foremost I am an
Intoxicated Robert Pattinson fan...
I thought I would go through his movies.

And I'm not counting "Vanity Fair"
Because his scenes were cut.
But he looks absolutely gorgeous in the scenes
that didn't make it to the movie.

OK.

2004: Curse of the Ring, aka "Ring of the Nibelungs"

Um. Yeah.
Not Rob's best look... but still smiling that smile.
I've only seen bits and pieces of this movie.
If Rob's voice hadn't been overdubbed
(Who the fuck replaces THAT voice?)
I would have added it to my Rob collection.

Rob has a small role...
and it's kinda a "Lord of the Ring" kinda thing
My favorite memory of the movie?
When Rob was on Leno with Heidi Klum
And he shyly looked over to her...
pulling his fingers through his hair...
And mentioned he was in a German movie.
SO CUTE!
That interview remains one of my all time favorites to this day.
That's all I got to say about this one.
How many wine drinkers out of 5?

Two.
And that's only because Rob is in it.

2005: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Cedric Diggory.
Can he be any more handsome?
Gotta love Harry Potter movies.
At least I do.
And I will admit that even though I thought
the actor who played Cedric in the movie
was incredibly handsome and sweet...
I guess the thought that he was a teenager
immediately negated him from being on my radar at all.
(Yeah, Rose... Cuz being 21 is SO much better!)
I love this movie.
I love Rob in this movie.
The handsome hero.
Well, I guess Harry is the hero...
But Cedric really outshines Harry in this movie
In every way.
And I love Dan Radcliffe... I do.
But he should make it a rule to never stand
next to Robert Pattinson again.
Ever.

Five drunken fools.
Because it's Harry Potter.
It's a good movie.
Rob looks absolutely gorgeous in it.
And even though the end is a bit sad
(Yeah, Cedric bites the dust)
One of the better Potter movies...
OK, I'm being prejudiced.
So what.

2006: The Haunted Airman

Ahh... The story of Toby Jugg.
Rather depressing movie.
Depressing color.
Depressing setting.
Depressing story.
But Robert?
Ever so beautiful!
And it is a creepy kinda movie...
But I liked it.
And everyone remembers those little clips of Rob
smoking his cigarette... deep in thought.
*swoon*

Rob's character has an affair with his 'aunt'.
Bitch.
(Hahahaha... I'm only kidding. I think.)
Seriously.
She puts her hand in his hair...
More than ONCE.
I hate her for that alone.
(Truly... I'm kidding I don't hate her. Much.)
But that all aside...
My favorite bit of the movie...
is when Toby is lying on the ground when he first
gets to this depressing rehab place thingy.
And he says something like
(I can't find the exact quote at the moment)
"Here's where we come to meet
the end of the world"
That's close enough.

Three drunken sots.
Rob is gloriously gorgeous.
2007: The Bad Mother’s Handbook

Oh sweet Daniel.
Quite possibly my favorite of Robert's pre-Twilight movies.
And hes not even a main character
Sweet story.
Very cute.
Robert is just plain ADORABLE.

I loved this movie.
I love Robert.

Four Pissed Twits

2008: The Summer House

I will admit to not seeing this in its entirety.
But damn... what I have seen is incredibly sexy.
It doesn't even kinda look like Robert.
Weird.
What gets to me is this...

Talulah Riley.
I think I might just hate her.
(Yes, I'm being facetious)
Because not only did she get to do this movie
with a deliciously handsome (heh) Robert...
But she also plays the fair Marianne in "Pirate Radio"
and gets to KISS Tom Sturridge.
What's up with THAT??
How is that even remotely fair?
Tell me!

3 Blitzed Boozers.

2008: How to Be

Art.
Art imitating Rob.
I've always felt that Art was kinda how Rob really is.
You know what I mean.
Adorkable.
Awkward.
Art.

I loved this movie.
Rob is completely charming.
It's a cute story.
AND
he plays guitar and sings
albeit not like Rob would sing.
But still cool all the same.

4 inebriated lushes.

2008: Little Ashes

Rob is phenomenal in this movie.
He proves how serious he is about acting.
He takes risks.
But it wasn't my favorite movie.
Maybe its just because of Dali.
I don't know.
But I do appreciate Robert in this.
And its a beautiful movie, too...
So...

Three Boozy Bozos

2008: Twilight

What can I say?
This movie gave me an Edward that I could see...
That I could hear...
Robert Pattinson is the closest to Edward this world will ever see.
I was so taken with this movie when it first came out.
I couldn't get ENOUGH of it.
Rob strutting into the cafeteria?
Yes.
Top 5 best scenes EVER.
Love this movie.
Love Robert.
Love everything.

Robert became Edward.
Robert met Kristen.
Need I say more?

5 Stewed Guzzlers

2009: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

More Edward.
Nothing wrong with that!
Of course I loved this movie...
Not as much as Twilight
Because Rob wasn't in it as much...
and less Rob
is less fun.
But still.
Edward.
Bella.
Kissing.
And.
ROBERT STRUTTING ACROSS THE PARKING LOT!
That alone is worth the price of admission.

3 Tipsy Winos.

2010: Remember Me

Oh dear.
Oh my.
Robert.
I truly loved this movie.
Yes, mostly because of Rob.
What can I say?
I'm a true fan.
I will follow him through all his choice of roles.
Tyler was a beautiful lost soul.
Rob can portray that wonderfully.
And look good doing it.
I hated the end.
But that's because Tyler dies.
I didn't need that.
Not after Cedric
(MY BOY!!!)
Not Tyler, too...

4 Plastered Carousers

2010: Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Probably the most beautiful Edward so far.
Probably the most romantic Edward.
Probably the first time we get to see the tough
'Don't mess with me, Victoria' Edward.
Yeah.
He takes that bitch DOWN.
Eclipse was my favorite book.
Not sure if it is my favorite of the movies
(thus far)
I find myself getting nostalgic for Edward of old.
But yes... I loved this movie.
Even if there is no strutting Edward.
And truly...
Why would you wanna break my heart?
Why?

5 Intoxicated Sponges.

I can't wait to see how many glasses of wine
Water for Elephants
or
Bel Ami
will get.
Maybe I might need to add more glasses...
You can never have enough wine.
Or popcorn.
Or Robert.

Yeah.
Prospects look good.

So...
I have quite the collection of Rob movies so far.
I don't see that stopping anytime soon.
He just keeps getting better and better.
And if at all possible...
Better looking as well.
Amazing.

I wonder if I will ever get over this intoxication.
I wonder if I will ever want to.

This post is brought to you by the letter *W*

W for Wine.
Me and wine have become intimidate lately.
Close friends.
Buddies.

Cheers for now

I haven't seen the haunted airman, that is the only rob movie I've missed out on. Anyone know where I can get it?
And lmao at your line "cedric (MY BOY!)" Cuz even though its all kinds of sad when cedric dies, his father shouting MMMYYY BBOOOOOOOY makes me laugh everytime & ruins the moment lol

Ps love the wfe pic of rob u chose, hanging out on a smoke break...very very nice!

  2. Oh and in regards to the haunted airman, I want to watch it legally. No downloads or whatever.

  8. Great post, love seeing all the movies he's been in. I've seen them all except Ring of the ngubdjdinggs,(whatever) and the Haunted Airman it looked a little weird. I loved him as Cedric, one of my fav Potter movies. Cannot wait for WFE, almost as excited as I was for Twilight....almost. Oh and maybe the W sould also be for Whiners, considering the last few hater posts lmao thanks Rose, have a great Sat.

  9. Groovie, I am pretty sure you can buy that movie at Amazon.com. It used to pop up on my recomendations list because my husband bought me "Twilight" and "New Moon" from there.

    Nice post Rose

Here is a toast to Rob and his future in movies...I know it will be a long one and I look forward to watching all of it!

  13. Rose, I really enjoyed your post today, a nice change of pace. Like you, I have enjoyed all of Rob's movies that I have seen...I believe there are only two I haven't seen. I hope you are having a nice weekend.

  14. @Groovie-I bought the Haunted Airman from Amazon. I think I paid $11.99 for it. I liked it. Rob was fantastic in it.

Rose, I agree with all your ratings, except for How To Be. When I started watching it, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. But, Rob as always, puts a spin on his characters and make you care about them. So, I would have given How To Be- 5 glasses of wine. Shoot, I would give all of his movies 5 glasses of wine, just to be able to drink a little more, just saying. Can't wait for Water for Elephants, Bel Ami, and the Breaking Dawn Movies. And let's not forget Cosmopolis. At this rate, all of us will be happy lushes, drunk on Rob.

    Good post Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, we were at school all week. The big storm we were suppose to get hit NYC instead of upstate where I live. A new storm is coming next week.

Did the numbness finally wear off?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Super,

Can I send you an email? I need to pick your brain a little on a drug reaction issue. I know what is going on but I don't know if it needs addressing sooner rather than later.

    ReplyDelete
  25. PL. Certainly. My husband has taken my laptop out for awhile. It will be a few more hours until he gets back to the house with it. I am using my cell phone which I do not have set up to accept my email. I will get back to you as soon as I get it back.

  28. Oh Rose, great post!! Loved the nostalgic look back at Rob's movies. Like you, I've bought some of them (though I have not seen Little Ashes or the Rings movie and just saw snippets of The Summer House.)

I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I loved The Bad Mother's Handbook! I laughed out loud at that movie. How To Be was nerdy, adorkable Rob...and Remember Me, well, it was nice to see Rob play a non-nerdy normal guy for a change. Be still my heart.

  29. Believe,

It kind of depends right now. I've had a bit of a sore throat and Mr PL has a URI - upper respiratory infection, not that he goes with me.

I sent my food bank check today so I'm covered.

  30. Rose,

What a clever and funny post today! I have seen most but not all. Thanks :)

And I agree..you can never have too much wine :)

Hi Everyone! Hope it was a great day!

  31. PL~I had had a sore throat too and it is finally feeling better. Super told me to take 5000mg of vit. D at night and it really seemed to help. Hope you feel better. Hope MR. PL feels better too.

    Hi Rhonda!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Believe,

Thanks. I already take 2000mg of Vit D. Maybe I should increase it for a bit.

Really this is the first either of us has been under the weather in months so it's no big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  33. PL...the most recent recommendation is 5000u during cold and flu season and 2000u the rest of the year...unless you spend at least 30 minutes outside per day without sun block on

  37. Watching New Moon on Showtime...Bella just saved Edward at the clock tower! What a shmexy Edward:)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Super,

I was actually taking it for my bones so I guess I'm in a win win if I increase it because there isn't much sun around here lately.

Did you know that endocrinologists are having people with diabetes increase their Vit D? They load them first with 50000 a week for 8 weeks and then down to 2000 a day after that.

  49. PL.. I emailed you..Yes, the truth about Vit D is IF people took the proper amount, it would save the US billions of dollars per year in health care costs

RHONDA..I am doing well..a little sore but thats no surprise.

IB..I have finished watching How to Be but hubby is home now so I guess my movie watching has come to an end for tonite...I do so love New Moon..I will watch it tomorrow!!!

I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

  56. Hi everyone. *waves*

Glad you are safe and sound IB. You have received an amazing amount of snow this winter.

The vitamin D recommendation sounds like something I will try. Thank you Super RN.

    You are so kind Rhonda.

Thank you Rose for the wonderful Rob movie retrospective. What a nice Saturday afternoon at the movies posting, complete with beverage of choice. Make mine sangría.

Remember Me, with Tyler, is my favorite of them all. I am anticipating, however, that WFE with Jacob, will become my shining star of a movie.

Really liked Rob as sensitive and thoughtful Daniel Gayle. So many precious scenes. Very cute during the labor and of course the ending.

In the Haunted Airman, there is a moment where he is on the porch when his aunt arrives and he looks up at her with a sweet smile. Oh my goodness, he is "hauntingly" beautiful. (Hated the spiders in that movie though.)

As Dali, he took a brave and bold step. Bravo for Rob during the dinner scene, as Lorca recites his poem, and also, after Lorca's death, when as Dali, he is painting the black canvas while filled with grief and pain.

As several of you have mentioned, Rob has created an Edward that has surpassed our imagination. Thank you Rob and Kristen, for breathing life into these characters, loving them and staying as true to them as you are able.

This whole Twilight experience has been unlike any other I have taken part in. It is such an enjoyable bonding across generations, states, and countries filled with ongoing conversations and fun shared with my family, students, coworkers, friends, acquaintances, and of course the lovely friends here in Roseland. I feel very fortunate to have found your blog, Rose. Thank you for your vision, enthusiasm, dedication, hospitality and generosity.

Thank you fellow Roselanders, each and every one of you, for the friendship and shared love of Rose, and her blog, Robert Pattinson Intoxication. We are a wondrous and varied group of individuals, who have encountered each other in a rather serendipitous way. In addition, it is lovely how our shared love and caring envelop Smitty, Gruff, and Syd.

Hugs. Wish I could invite y'all over for dinner. It would be an amazing evening.

  60. Goodnight IB

So glad I got to talk with you :)

  61. Hey Rose and Roselanders!

Excellent post Rose! I have all of Rob's movies on DVD (hey Rob's in it, I'll buy it) so whenever I need a Rob fix I'm covered. I am so amazed how much he becomes each character. I don't see Rob I see Art, Toby, Cedric, Daniel, Richard, Dali, Edward, and Tyler. Even from just the bits of WFE and BA I see this continues. It truly is a breathtaking transformation in each movie.

Hands down my favorite thus far is Tyler in Remember Me. The story, the setting (hello NYC gal here) and the so realistic, raw family dynamics. I really hope he and Ruby who played his sis will co-star in another movie, they were amazing together.

I am on the edge of my seat in anticipation for WFE, BA and now Cosmopolis. Rob is really honing his craft and picking such varied roles. The added benefit of being his fan is all the great reading material each role brings. Just got my Cosmopolis book today. So excited he is working with Oscar grade directors, cast and crew. Really shows how much faith the industry has in his talents. Great times ahead for Rob fans to be sure, I feel it will just keep getting better.

Thanks again Rose for this blog and always feeding my own Rob intoxication. May I never get sober ;-)

    ~Anne

  62. Hugs to you Rhonda and to IB!
Yes Rhonda, wish I could wiggle my nose and gather everyone together for a Roseland dinner.

I also, am off to read a bit. Am finally finishing On the Road. They are in Mexico now and I am curious as to how it ends. I already want to reread several chapters.

Just saw your post nyc. Totally agree with you on Rob's ability to become each character. I am still waiting for my copy of Cosmopolis. Am looking forward to reading it.

    Sweet dreams y'all.

  63. Edward made me fall in love with Rob but Tyler inforced that love.:)

I can't wait to see him in WFE, but for now Edward is Rob at his best.

  64. Hi! Roselanders!

Just got caught up on the posts for the last two days. Long work days and had to get out and enjoy 65 and sunny here today.

Really enjoyed todays post! the movie critiques were awesome. Never seen Rob with long hair before. I like the long hair and half beard. My favorite Edward look was Eclipse, but my favorite movie was Remember Me.(went to the theater twice)

Just want to tell everyone this blog is great and the people here are even greater. You all make me smile, laugh, and just feel good. (especially on days when I don't think that is even possible) Like the Beatles say "I get by with a little help from my friends"

Love you all! HUGS all around!

  67. Hey everyone,

Wonderful post, Rose. It`s great to see the many faces of Rob. I'm just back in after a late dinner and drinks, so I'm feeling more than slightly sappy and sentimental, and likely a tad bit drunk, so this post was perfect.

Rob really is lovely (you’re probably not supposed to call a guy "lovely", but at the moment, my brain isn't functionning all that well and it's the word that came to mind. I think you all know what I mean, in any case). It's wonderful to see the progression of his career. And I really do want to cheer him, and Kristen on.

WFE really has me excited, particularly after just finishing the book. I laughed reading the book, because there are two references to ‘spider monkeys’ in it. It was funny, considering that the ‘spider monkey’ reference, followed by Kristen’s giggle, is one of my favourite moments in Twilight.

Any way, I’m going to crawl off to bed. Hope you all have a good evening.

  68. OLIVIA...I enjoyed your reflective post just now..This blog is very special and worth protecting in every way..

Rob Pattinson..I cant get over how WELL he completely "embodies" his characters...and ITS KILLING ME that Bel Ami is taking so long to come out!

    FREDDIE...Sorry I missed you..

    ReplyDelete
  69. Nice post Rose, I really would like to see 'Little Ashes' but can't find it here in Holland. Twilight is also my favourite movie for various obvious reasons. I like Rob for choosing movies for artistic reasons and not go down the easy road filling his pockets with big (crap) boxoffice ones. I reckon actually that this guy is just the real genuine article, what you see is what you get, no false pretences. So yeah I like the guy and I'll defend him as hard as I can!

    ReplyDelete
  70. ROSE...Im watching Remember Me and I have now determined why he is soooo cute when he walks and moves..he is what you would call "double jointed" heh..People with that are not really double jointed but their joints are very flexible..the correct term is "hypermobility"...they are predisposed to popping their joints out of place if not careful. There are certain forms of exerise that can makes them less prone to problems later in life....Anyhoooo..sooooo cute!!! Love u Rob!!!OOh, I gotta go..the first love scene is coming up..yikes

  71. Angelica and Liza,

I watched Graham NOrton last night and his guest was a comedienne named Sarah Millican. Apparently, she is from Manchester so now I know what your accent is like.

Don't worry, I am in no way comparing you to her appearance!

    Good morning to all!

  72. Rose,
I enjoyed the list of Rob's achievements and it just keeps getting better! I have high hopes for WFE. One I loved the story and you are right, he has never looked better.
I saw this yesterday and think it is one of the best fanvids I've seen. The song is great-Angus and Julia Stone. Hope you all enjoy.

  73. I feel like a proud mama when I see the great choices R/K are making - professionally & personally.

They deserve every bit of happiness and success that comes their way.

I hope all of Roseland & R/K have a beautiful Sunday!

  74. Morning Penny Sarah Millican is "Geordie"I think, a bit further North than us. My accent is actually closer to Sean Bean. I haven't heard Liza so I'm not sure if she has a typical Cheshire accent or not but if so,it's a lot closer to Yorkshire than Tyneside:)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Super - I know all about hypermobility, that's why I have so many back problems now :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Angelica,

I admit I did have a little difficulty understanding Sarah, plus she spoke very quickly. She was funny though.

Quite often after we watch his show I have to google something they were talking about because it isn't a term we would use. I love it though because it is so different from our late night talk shows.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Penny, yes they do speak very quickly - Even I have trouble understanding it and quite a few of my friends and 2 of my staff are from that area.LOL

  80. Good morning Roselalnd,
Hope y'all have a wonderful and happy Sunday.
    Just in for a moment.

Birdie, thank you for posting the link to the Rob and Kristen vid. I so enjoyed it. The song is a perfect accompaniment to the beautiful, subtle, unspoken glances and touches that radiate the loving and strong connection that they protectively nurture with each other.

    Enjoy the day!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oops, that should be "Roseland". : )

    ReplyDelete
  82. Good morning Roseland.

Birdie - my thanks also for posting the vid. It was beautiful.

Olivia - you have a great facility with words - beautifully put.

Super - I hope you are feeling better. I also enjoyed The Lake House.

Hi Penny and Angelica - hope you are both having a good Sunday morning and afternoon.

    Dottie and Rabbit - welcome.

    Have a good one Roseland.

  83. Hi Freddie!

Olivia~Sorry I didn't stay around last night. I was so sleepy.

Super~Keanu was my first intoxication. He is very cute!

    DK-Hope all is well!

  84. My "Hi Gang!" got cut off somehow:(

    So....HI GANG!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Freddie and Olivia,
    So glad you enjoyed it.

Olivia, it was exactly as you described it and ditto to Freddie's comment about your writing!

Freddie, I think you have a wonderful way with words, also.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Great post! Love the pics from Rob's movies. Haven't seen Little Ashes, Haunted Airman, or Remember Me. Not sure I want to see RM because I really don't like Emily and the love scenes with her(is that wrong?). Oh well maybe some day I'll get over it. LOVE Cedric-what a hottie!!
Edward is hands down, but WFE will probably be a near death of me!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi Birdie~I don't think we've talked bc you are on the night crew. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hey IB!!!!!

Long time no talk to. How are you? I hope you are well, despite the snow.

As you said yesterday, you have now officially earned the title of the Great White North. We have some snow and are expecting more this week, but I don't think we have anything near what you have.

Sounds like you have been busy despite the weather.

    ReplyDelete
  89. HI IB, BIRDIE and FREDDIE..Now Im watching Youve Got Mail..lol

    ReplyDelete
  90. Very busy! I just have to share a dream I had last night. Who is our resident dream interpreter?

I was at a bar where there was a concert going on. Guess who came on stage? Rob and Kristen! Rob was singing and Kristen was acting out the song he was singing. I was just awe-struck...so much so that I forgot to take a picture. When I finally thought to take a picture, they were trying to get Rob out and away from all the fans and they were pulling him out on a wagon type thing. He was sitting in a cardboard box. The only hole in the box was a rectangle one for his eyes. Really out there! Huh?

So what does that dream mean? Oh, and by the way, I was NOT drinking last night.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Super - it sounds like you are having a wonderful, relaxing day. Hope you are on the mend. Continue to enjoy. You have great taste in movies.....and favourite actors.

    ReplyDelete
  92. IB..thats EASY!! You WANT to meet them..but they are ALWAYS just out of reach...but you can always dream..sometimes dreams DO come true!!! I hope for YOU that all your dreams come true!!

FREDDIE..You and I both have good taste!

    ReplyDelete
  93. IB..Yes K E A N U..love him in Somethings Got to Give which I might watch next..its a toss up between that and Valentines Day..heh

    FREDDIE..isnt Keanu originally from Canada???

    ReplyDelete
  94. I have always kicked myself for not going to NYC to the Remember Me Premeire. I would have been able to see both Rob and Kristen!

I know that Keanu is actaually a Hawiian word. I just loved him as Neo in the Matrix movies.

Did you see the Matric moives, Super?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Freddie,
I did tell you that I finished the painting. Now I am after hubby to hang the new curtain rods so I can get the new curtains up! He, sadly, is a put-er off-er:(

    ReplyDelete
  96. Missed the new post yesterday since I was out having one or six (seven?) drinks. LOL

It was nice to get out with other grown up type people for once in a long while.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thank you for the welcome, Freddie. It's nice here. Everyone is so positive and supportive of the lovebirds.

SueBee, if you are still here, I keep reading rave reviews of your cookies & hope to try them. Can you remember around what date it was that you posted the recipe? TIA :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. IB..No I have not seen them..sorry for the delay..company came by for awhile...I would like to see alot more of KEANU's movies and I would like to see SPEED again..Right now Im watching "While You Were Sleeping" I have never seen this one before...an old Sandra Bullock movie..

    ReplyDelete
  99. Super~The Matix trilogy is futuristic and all about the machines, meaning computers, taking over the humans. Underneath it all, though, it is a love story between Keanu and his love interest. They did tons of training for the fight scenes etc, just like vampire training and the special effects are magnificent. Mr. Super may like these too. Look into them and let me know what you think.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Dottie

I THINK (not sure) it might have been around October. If you can't find the recipe, let me know and I'll post it for you. :o)

    Susan

    ReplyDelete
  101. Maybe it was September? Anyone remember?

    ReplyDelete
  102. IB - I'm just back. I ducked out for a couple of hours to do some shopping. I'm hunting all around for a pair earrings to match a necklace I bought - with no luck...

Glad to hear that the painting is done. I'm sure the room looks great as is, but will look even better once you get your new drapes up. I'm a bit of a "put-err-offer" at time as well, so I can't really say too much.

I assume you are back to school tomorrow?

Susan - I think the recipe was posted in early September or even late August. I hope I'm steering you in the right direction.

    ReplyDelete
  103. IB - I think you were saying that you wanted to see The King's Speech. I saw it last night and like others here, I would strongly recommend it. I thought the acting in it was great. Colin Firth is certainly deserving of the accolades he has received to date and will likely receive going forward. I also thought that Geoffrey Rush did a great job as well in a more understated role. Helena Bonham Carter was wonderful as a strong supportive wife. My friend rightly pointed out that there were no CGI effects, no car chases etc, and the movie was carried by the strength of the acting.

I think as a teacher you would really appreciate the story.

  105. Thanks Sue and Freddie. That narrows it down a good bit. I will find it, Sue. I wouldn't want you to have to re-post it. You're sweet to offer, though.

I'll let you know how they turn out. Of course, with 2 teenage boys & a hubby w/a sweet tooth, I'll be lucky if I get a bite of one!

    ReplyDelete
  106. SB~September or October? Either way that sounds like such a long time ago!

Freddie~Yes, I can't wait to see The King's Speech...I wonder if our British friends appreciate it more bc it is about their side of the pond.

Yes, heavy sigh, back to school tomorrow:( I has been a long month!

    ReplyDelete
  107. IB - Perhaps our British friends would appreciate it more because it's their history, but I can tell you that the audience at the show last night must have really liked it because there was applause at the end.

I guess the teaching must be that much harder at the moment given the number of interruptions to the curriculum. I would think it's hard to get the kids to focus right now.

  108. Freddie~Have you done anymore painting for your folks?

  110. IB - No, I haven't done anything further. I offered to book off some vacation time so I that I could tackle the living room/dining room next, but my mom thinks that would be too much. My parents have a split level house, so the living room/dining room runs into the hallway leading down to the ground level and up to the hallways near the bedrooms. I've done it once before, but I think my mom is thinking of hiring a professional instead, given the size of the job. We'll see - I may see if I can convince her to let me give it a try.

In the interim, if I get the painting bug, I have my own hallway and living room that could use a paint job.

How about you - are you planning any other projects?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Thank you so much, Kay! I was just about to start looking for the recipe and... ta da! There is was!!! You are very sweet :)

    ReplyDelete
  112. Projects?? I have a never ending list! My boys were in the same room and my oldest moved into the guest room. He picked out a real nice comforter/sheet set but there were no matching curtains so I will be making them out of a matching flat sheet.

Years ago I bought the tile backsplash for my kitchen bc I thought if I bought it I could wrangle hubby into helping me do it but, alas, it still sits in a box...and there's always painting to do:)

Forgive me,Freddie, I know you have told me but I forgot what you do in the real world. I have a hard time keeping everyone straight. I should keep a Roseland notebook...LOL

    ReplyDelete
  113. IB - in the real world I work in the Marketing department for a market research/consulting firm. We've just re-organized and my new assignment is in evaluating our new investments and in helping to build the business rationale and financial case, then to help marshall the investment through the corporate approval process.

There are more changes to be announced this week, so my assignment might be subject to further change. I'm just waiting to see. It's rarely dull.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Freddie~Wow! I'm impressed...I don't think I could do that...I'll stick with my second graders:)

Rhonda and DK~Are you home yet?

Super~How's the movie marathon going...any updates?

30~You haven't checked in yet either. How was the GNO?

    ReplyDelete
  115. IB - that's a great idea to use the flat sheet for the curtains. It sounds like you're good at sewing. I used to do a fair bit but I confess, I've gotten lazy lately.

Good luck with getting the blacksplash done. I think that is more than I could tackle myself.

    ReplyDelete
  116. You're welcome, dottie...Susan's chocolate chip cookie receipe really is one of the best ones out there! :)

  117. Hi, Rose!!

Really loved the restrospective of Rob's movies, thanks. I've seen all Rob's movies, and really enjoyed all of them...my favourite movie of Rob, so far, is Remember Me...I absolutely LOVE it. I can not wait to see Water for Elephants, Bel Ami, BD and now Cosmopolis...SO many many great things to look foward and I have a feeling that this just will get better and better.

Hi, everyone!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Hugs to all and take care

    ReplyDelete
  118. IB...heh..Just finished Valentines Day!!!..Please dont think I have been slumming all day I have actually cooked 2 meals, I sweae I did

  119. Soup~As long as you felt up to cooking...slumming it after minor surgery is allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  120. IB..It is a "cute" movie...It has alot of stars in it..I think Ive had enough movies now to last me awhile..I had wanted to watch New Moon again today but didnt get around to it.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Super RN...

What a coincidence, I just finished watching Valentine's Day myself. It was cute but I wouldn't say that it was my favorite romantic comedy. That would be Serendipity with John Cusack & Kate Beckinsale. I can watch that movie over and over again. I never get tired of it. If I ever get the chance to visit New York I'd like to stop at Serendipity 3 for a Frozen Hot Chocolate. I'm already a huge fan of their perfume called Serendipitous. It smells so yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Nice post Rose. My favorite movie with Robert in it is Twilight but a really close second is Remember Me. A really, really close second. I have a feeling that Water for Elephants will surpass them both though. I really loved the book. And I have really high hopes for Breaking Dawn Part I too. I have a feeling that it is going to be my favorite of all the Twilight movies. Can't wait for all the hoopla and promotion surrounding it to begin.

  123. Hi Roseland!

Hope everyone had a great weekend :)

    Hi! IB,Freddie,Super,Katy,Eclipsed and anyone I missed :)

    ReplyDelete
  124. Hi everyone!
Hope u all had a nice weekend, they go by way too fast though & monday morning is staring u in the face before u know it! Blah!
I enjoy the recipe posts, I never cook or bake but I think I'll be passing some on to my mom to make when I come over! Lol

It appears as if Rob & Kristen were able to have a quiet weekend. I'm so happy that their time in Baton Rouge hasn't been a pap-fest. Its awesome that they can have some peace & quiet and privacy there while working. I only hope that extends to vancouver once production moves. Hopefully they can stay away from the majority of the cast so that they aren't as hounded by the papz by being in close proximity to some of the more famewhorey cast members!

Enjoy the rest of your sunday night everyone! Next sunday is the superbowl! Yay!!

    ReplyDelete
  125. IB- Hey!
It was good. Not a bad work weekend at all. What about you? Did you do anything fun?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Cheer competition all day with my daughter. Cleaned and stayed in today.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Meant to say that the cheer comp was all day yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  128. How did the competition turn out?

I've been watching Pretty in Pink.Do you remember that movie?
    Lol..

    ReplyDelete
  129. LOL! I was just watching the end of that too! Oh the memories. My daughter is on two teams and filling in on a third for the time being. Of three teams we had a third place, second place and first place. She had a very good day and hit all of her stunts. She is a flyer so she is the one that gets held up/thrown in the air.

    ReplyDelete
  130. IB- Congrats! Sounds like your daughter is pretty good. Has she always cheered?

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well, this is her third year. She is nine so she started when she was six. She is an awesome tumbler. She can back handspring, do a tuck and she just landed her full which is like a twist in the air.

    ReplyDelete
  132. That's cool. Do you have to travel a lot for competitions or is it more local?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Competitions are like half and half. We have been to Atlantic City already this year. We are suppose to go to Maryland for finals this year.

    Do you have kids?

    ReplyDelete
  134. No, not yet. But I really love them :)
I have 5 nephews and only 1 little niece.
My youngest nephew loves the Twilight movies and he like to pretend he's Seth Clearwater. LOL..he was mad a me before Christmas because I told him he couldn't howl in public..LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  135. How cute your nephew sounds.

Having kids~you have a lot to look forward to.

I had two boys, my daughter was our third and last. I wanted more but hubby didin't:(

    For No One

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLYaOhVUbW8

Your day breaks, your mind aches
You find that all the words of kindness linger on
When she no longer needs you

She wakes up, she makes up
She takes her time and doesn’t feel she has to hurry
    She no longer needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
    Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years!

You want her, you need her
And yet you don't believe her when she said her love is dead
    You think she needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
    Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years!

You stay home, she goes out
She says that long ago she knew someone but now he's gone
    She doesn't need him

Your day breaks, your mind aches
There will be time when all the things she said will fil your head
    You won't forget her

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
    Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years!

That seemed to mean so much?
It always made me feel so....

    Getting Better

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP4apO4dbhw

It's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school
The teachers who taught me weren't cool

You're holding me down, turning me round
Filling me up with your rules.

I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
I have to admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine.

Me used to be a angry young man
Me hiding me head in the sand
    You gave me the word
    I finally heard

I’m doing the best that I can.
I’ve got to admit it's getting better

I used to be cruel to my woman
I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved
Man I was mean but I'm changing my scene
And I'm doing the best that I can.

    I admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
Yes I admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine.

    Thank you/milkcarton27

    Girl

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liR9bW5hm2c

Is there anybody gone to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?

She's the kind of girl you want so much
    It makes you sorry;
Still, you don't regret a single day.
    Ah girl! Girl!

She's the kind of girl who puts you down
When friends are there, you feel a fool.
    Didididi..

When you say she's looking good
She acts as if it's understood.
    She's cool, cool, cool, cool,
    Girl! Girl! [Was she]

When I think of all the times I’ve tried to leave her
    She will turn to me and start to cry;

And she promises the earth to me
    And I believe her.
After all this times I don’t know why.
    Ah, girl! Girl!

She's the kind of girl who puts you down when friends are there,
    You feel a fool.

When you say she’s looking good,
She acts as if it’s understood.
She's cool, cool, cool, cool, Girl! Girl!

Was she told when she was young the pain
    Would lead to pleasure?
Did she understand it when they said

That a man must break his back to earn
    His day of leisure?

Will she still believe it when he’s dead?
    Ah girl! Girl! Girl!

    Thank you/multivitamins4all

    Glass Onion

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvpfM1NDHD0

I told you about strawberry fields
You know the place where nothing is real
Well here's another place you can go
    Where everything flows.

Looking through the bent backed tulips
To see how the other half live
    Looking through a glass onion.

I told you about the walrus and me-man
You know that we're as close as can be-man

Well here's another clue for you all
    The walrus was Paul.

Standing on the cast iron shore-yeah
Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet-yeah
    Looking through a glass onion.

I told you about the fool on the hill
I tell you man he living there still

Well here's another place you can be
    Listen to me.

Fixing a hole in the ocean
    Trying to make a dove-tail joint-yeah
    Looking through a glass onion.

    Thank you/TheQuarrymen58

  152. Hope you liked the Beatles selections for tonight....

I'll be wandering, but if anyone wants me, ring a bell and I'll come back to chat.

Not sure how late I'll make it up to tonight, for the lamplight's been burning steady and the wick is low.

  166. Hey Susan! I'm going to the store for ingredients today. Can't wait! Do you use a certain brand of choc chip or does it even matter?

It sure has been quiet this week end. I always take that as a good sign ;)

  167. Dottie

I use Hershey's or Nestle. Make sure you use BUTTER flavor cisco to get the right flavor though.

    :o)
