Rob and Kristen- Killing Me Softly

While my guitar gently weeps...

Random Rose.

1. Robert + Guitar = Melting
I mean seriously.
Come on.
WTF.
It's not fair.

I'm sure by now you all have listened to Rob sing.
I have.
Again.
And Again.
And Again.
And well... You get my point.

I love you baby... but not like I love my guitar.

I cannot get enough of the man...
and his guitar.
I'm almost afraid to admit this...
But hell... I've come this far... right?

I had the Twilight CD in my car...
in the CD player, mind you...
For well over a year.
Truly.
I never took it out.
It was there... day in and day out
And every time I got into the car
I would listen to Robert pluck the guitar
when "Never Think" came on...
And it continually made my stomach flip.
Still does.

Baby it's the guitar man...

There is something so incredibly soulful...
So magnificent
So stunning
about listening to Rob play his guitar and sing.
It touches you.
You feel what he is singing.
And the guitar playing.
God.
His guitar playing.

Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life with his words
Killing me softly
With his song...

And guess who Rob plays his guitar FOR?

2. There were lots and LOTS of 'outtakes'
Of Kristen recently released.
Something like close to 500.
Isn't that amazing?

I love this photoshoot for a number of reasons...
One of them being that Kristen is so amazingly gorgeous...
But also because they put her in bright bold colors.
I love her in colors.
OK... so I just love her period.
But there were pics of her in REDS and GREENS
and wow.
Just wow.
There isn't anything the girl can't wear...

Singing my life with his words...

She is so naturally stunning.
Kristen doesn't have to work at being beautiful.
She just is.
She has an innocent sexuality.
She doesn't have to try and be sexy
She just has to look at the camera.

Is it any wonder...
What has captivated Robert for all this time?

David Slade was on Twitter answering questions...
and when asked about Kristen?

"Very first impression of KS, Shy, strong, talented,
smart beyond her years and direct. No messing around."

Does that surprise anyone?
Shy.
Strong.
Talented.
Smart.

We all knew this.
We who love and adore Kristen.
It's all part of her many charms.
Robert knows.
Oh yes...
Rob has known ALL along.

Shaggy and Sienna.

3. *Sigh*

You know that old saying...

"Be careful what you wish for... You may receive it."

And I had to open my big mouth.
Or.
Type with my big fingers?
Anyway.
I had to go and say that I missed Tom's face.
Didn't I?
Way to go, Rose!
So...
What do I get?

Oh Shaggy...

Yeah.
I get Tom's face.
But unfortunately...
It was attached to Sienna's face.
Kinda sucks.
Not gonna lie.

I did get the cool baseball hat
and the Rolling Stones jacket.
(I do however miss the red plaid)
But Tom.
Tom.

Look at the camera and say CHEESE!

Tom.
Are you trying to hide under all that hair
and that beard?
I mean.
I love scruff and beards as much as the next girl.
(OK, maybe more than the next girl..
Because I really LOVE them)
But dammit boy.
You have such a pretty face.
It's damn near intoxicating.
So why in the hell do you always have to hide it?

And why oh why is Sienna attached to it?
*sigh*

All I can say here is that it looks like they
were having a good time parading around Vienna
Playing it up for the cameras...
Tom looks happy.

*sigh*

This post is brought to you by the letter *G*

G for Isn't it GOOD that
Rob and Kristen have remained well hidden?
Yeah...
I know there will continue to be speculation
as to where they are.
But I'm loving the fact that Robert doesn't
have to be seen unless he WANTS to.
And I know that some people don't want to believe
That Kristen was ever there.
But come on now...
Where do you think Bear is?
And how exactly did he get there?
And sure...
Rob and Kristen won't be joined at the hip
they both have jobs to do
which include traveling outside of Toronto...
But they ARE together.
Just because you don't see pics of them
doesn't mean they have ceased to exist.
They are somewhere out there.
Together.

Will we see them before the MTV Movie awards?
I don't know.
You know they will both be there.
They do have to win Best Kiss after all
(and seriously... KISS this time)
Will Rob and Kristen stay under the radar until then?
Will they stay in Toronto (together)
Fly back to L.A. (together)
And then go from there?
Who knows.
Yes, there will be times when Kristen is in L.A.
or wherever her schedule takes her.
And Rob will be filming Cosmopolis...
So I'm sure they will have their moments of separation.
Thing is?
Rob and Kristen
ALWAYS
end up back
TOGETHER.
You know that they do.
It's been going on for over 2 years now.

G for Green Sheep.

Always and forever.

Bye for now
♥♥♥
And just in case anyone missed it...
Here is Rob singing.

  1. I really LOVE listening to Rob sing and play the guitar, and so wish he would release something again some day.....but, I can also understand him keeping his love of making music as a separate and personal part of himself that he doesn't share with just anyone. I'm glad that we get to hear what we do.....lucky Kristen. :)

Happy Tuesday Rose and Roseland! <3

  2. I am a total sucker for a man that plays guitar, I think I'm going to make that a pre-requisite for any future bf lol!

Love all the pix of scruffy Rob & his guitars, love the song too, added it to my ipod last night.

I'm happy rob & kris have been able to keep it low key and enjoy themselves, of course there will be traveling & stuff, Kristen has to work too! Regardless, they are happy & living their lives and its just all good!

Hope u all have a great day! And seriously check out Rob's impromptu sofarsounds performance if u haven't already! His girl said it best, he can sing & its "heartbreaking" but in the best way! :)

  3. I LOVED how David Slade summed up Kristen so efficiently but eloquently. He's not a kiss ass, we all know that about Slade. And yet in 140 characters or less he described someone who was complicated in a wonderful way.

I still cannot get over those who hate her so much, it's bizarre. But I do like that Robert has good taste. lol

  6. I live in T.O. and people around the area where Rob & Kristen are staying have seen them walking Bear and just chilling. It is an exclusive neighborhood and area,Yorkville. Also people that stay there in the condos and there are some houses are very protective of the area. It is a very high end place with their own little name brand boutiques and hotels, so if the paps or other lookiloos are just loafing around, you will be very obvious and the are is also well patrolled. There are 2 very expensive and chic hotels and we know where they are staying, but Torontonians are very protective of celebrities. A lot of films and tv shows film here in and around the downtown area which they usually use as New York, but you really don't see a lot of paps pics. There's the occasional ones and they don't hound them. It only happens when there are events like the TIFF,Much Music Video Awards,Junos etc. SO yes we here in T.O. protect the celebs. besides Rob & Kristen need their privacy and rest. There is also a Whole Foods market nearby. Just saying!Keep up the good work Rose!

Lovely way to go, softly...as you say today.

    Happy Day, everyone!

Here are the song lyrics to enjoy:

    Its All On You

And their eyes were on a double string
And their hands lay softly on the street now
And I do believe that honestly
That I know this is where I want to be right now
There are pictures in her eyes
They’re a thread up for the skies
    So I wait

    Now with our souls misunderstood
And our minds they saw a map of a way
    For how looong
    For how long
    How long must you take
I was set for that mistake but you moved
And when there was nothing then
    That I couldn’t take
    Its all on you, darlin’

You took me when my eyes were turned
    Its all on you, baby
You turned your back when I tried to learn

Still I cannot lift my eyes
If your hands are turning mine
    But you dared not
What you said our souls could contain

    They could contain
    But now I’m gone
With a broken twisted soul in mind
    But for how long
Cause I’ve wasted this train of youth all on you
    All on you
    Its all on you
    Its all on you
    Its all on you
    Its all on you
    Its all on you
    Its all on you

  10. My heart stopped while listening to Rob sing and play the guitar on this video. There are no words...his emotions just pour out of his soul with each word he sings...amazing.

Kristen...well, my all time favorite photo shoot of hers. Beyond beautiful. Each photo should be framed.

And Tom...just want him to be happy...truly happy and find the love of his life.
You are right,Rose, his face is too handsome to be covered up with all that scruff.

    Hi everyone!!!

  12. Hi Ladies of Roseland,

Somehow that greeting almost doesn't sound right. Lol.

I have to agree that Rob does express a lot of emotion with his voice. I just wish we could understand what he was saying.

    Cookie,
It's nice to hear that not everyone is intent on catching a celebrity on camera, but rather just let them be.

  13. Hi, rose!! Excellent post

I have it on repeat...Can't stop listening. I've said it before but I really love listening Rob sing, he has an amazingly soulful voice...it gives me goosebumps. Kristen is so lucky, to have the chance to listen to him whenever she wants. I hope he releases an album some day. And love that pic of Rob...the beanie, the beard, the guitar all kinds of swoon. LE SIGH

Slade said all, but yeah, we all knew this alraedy, thats why we love her. She maybe shy, but she doesn't take any bullshit from anybody.

If one of them have to travel out of Toronto, and I'm thinking it will be probably Kristen, for work related reasons (SWATH), She/they will return to Toronto and to be together as always.

About Tom and Sienna, all I can say is...if his happy and he does seem happy, then I am happy too.

Hope everyone his having a great day

    Take care

Tom...OK, if you're happy, we're happy, too...she sure is pretty on your arm.

  19. Hi all,

I hope you are all well.

All I can say is that we've been treated to a feast for the senses between the beautiful pictures of Kristen and the soulful singing from Rob. It's been a good couple of days.

I hope Rob and Kristen have had or are having some special time together in TO, and that any travel is done safely.

  21. Hello Rose and Roseland,
When I hear Rob sing it takes me back to how I got on this train. I remember hearing my girls talking about these vampire books and then they were going to see the movie. I remained clueless. Then one day my daughter was playing music on the computer and I heard a voice.
She then played the lullaby. Who was this guy? I do not quite know how to describe his voice. I think in this song he sounds like an early Tom Waits(not as gravelly),another man who sings with his soul. Anyway, I remain impressed(understatement).

Now Kristen...Rose you described it perfectly, innocent sexuality. She just looks into the camera. You see "her" not a young starlet trying to look sexy. She has "it" without even trying. Lord, they do make quite a pair.

I love the "Shaggy" and he does look happy.

Off to another track meet. See you all later!

  22. @DK: Have a wonderful afternoon of pampering & primping...you deserve to look as saucy & sexy as you feel for your trip to Minn (that's right, I believe?)...

You're heading for vaca at a lovely time...a great kick-off to the beginning of summer! Have a fabulous time, post a pic of the new chapeau, and check in a time or two whilst you're gone so we don't go thru the FGM dt's in your absence!

  26. A beautiful post today dear Rose. The pictures of scruffy Rob and Kristen from her photo shoot are lovely. The one of Rob on his road trip, with the golden glow is exceptional. Rob's music is very emotional and heartfelt. What a treat to have a snippet of the private performance from last year.

Enjoyed hearing that David Slade tweeted some very complimentary words about Kristen.

I agree with many of you who have mentioned earlier that the cast for SWATH looks wonderful, plus the move up of the release date is a fantastic decision.

Hooray for Toronto! Good job respecting Rob and Kristen's privacy. May they stay under the radar during all their personal, non-working time. I wish them freedom from the prying eyes of rude and intrusive people.

Tom is a grown young man. If he is happy, that is what counts and it is his own business.

Enjoy the evening DK. Get all "glammed" up for your trip to visit your friend. Old friends are truly the dearest and it is always such a special time when you are able to get together.

IB, hope your husband had a comfortable day. Hope your day went very well also.

Birdie, I liked your comments, and I agree with you and Rose.... Kristen doesn't even try and she has "it".

A hug and **wave** to y'all.

  27. Good Evening Roseland...Had an interesting thing happen this morning with our first case ...the nurses were applying the drapes over the surgical field for the first patient...there is a piece of paper that lays over the site where the incision will be made and the nurse presses it down over the area to blot up any excess scrub solution...when she removed it there was a soaked up spot on the paper and she said ...look, Water for Elephants, there was an impression that looked just like an elephant walking on water and it had scooped up some water with its trunk and was spraying the water over onto its back!....I will try to take a picture and have my daughter post it soon. Also, I wanted to again say how good I thought Toms movie, Waiting for Forever was. He delivered a gut wrenching performance. I will watch that movie again many times. Congrats Tom!

  28. I love listening to Rob play and sing, he's extremely talented. There's such a unique tone and soulful quality to his voice, it's very appealing.

Kristen is simply stunning. It's hard to believe those photos are outtakes.

I'm happy to hear Rob and Kristen are being left in relative peace and privacy. I hope they enjoy their time in Toronto :)

  30. Sing Your Heart Out

    The Trews:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uUoqD8a0V4

    Leave the ghosts that are holding you back;
Bury them in a paper bag; put 'em down in an unmarked grave

    You'll be damned when your mother finds out;
    You're not the girl that she once knew now;
You're going to find, you're going to find your own way

You deserve the best, you should expect nothing less
We could live in bliss, if you just say yes

On a night like this, life can change with a kiss
If you don't second guess and you go with it

And you sing your heart out, sing your heart out
    Drive them blues away
Sing your heart out, sing your heart out, you got more to say

I got a car and some money to spend
We could run with the best of them
If you let me steal you away

Think of me as a helping hand, Nothing more nothing less than that
We could sing all your hardships away
You deserve the best, you should expect nothing less

Sing your heart out, sing your heart out, you got more to say
Sing your heart out, sing your heart out, you got more to say

You're my motorcycle mama and I love you like no other
Meet me out by the old highway…

  31. Grasping At Straws

    Sidestreet Reny:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiSkHyogvXs

If I was to die tomorrow
    Suddenly would there be
An empty space left here by me
Did I make any significant strides

    Or was it all me
And did the evil in me
    Outweigh the good in me?

We all keep grasping at straws
Through a seemingly never ending web of laws
And it's meant just to keep us in order
    But little by little everyday
We break on through the border

Everyday I wake to the shine of the sun
Not long from a sliver to the one

    Green trees bearing fruit
For the pickin' walk on the grass
Who's air am I breathin' though I ain't pay nuthin'

    The bills keep comin'
    For the notes I'm strummin'
    This is my only contribution
    Is this my only contribution?

All that I want is a little bit of light
    Somethin to justify the fight
A little piece of the fire burnin'
    To validate this feelin'
    This yearning

    So I can stop turning
    Around n'round
    Stop spinnin'
    And finally slow down

    The Hollies-1970:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R--hyqgZXjc

    The road is long
    With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
    Who knows when

    But I'm strong
    Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
    We'll get there

    For I know
    He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    If I'm laden at all
    I'm laden with sadness
    That everyone's heart
    Isn't filled with the gladness
    Of love for one another

    It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
    Why not share

    And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

    He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother...

    Killing Me Softly

    The Fugees:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YAEWrnOtrY

Strummin' my pain with his fingers...
Singing my life with his words

Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life, with his words
Killing me softly, with his song

I heard he sang a good song
I heard he had a style
And so I came to see him and listen for awhile

And there he was, this young boy
    Stranger to my eyes
Strummin' my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words

Killing me softly with this song
Tellin' my whole life with his words
Killing me softly with his song

I felt all flushed with fever
    Embarrassed by the crowd
I felt he found my letters
And read each one out loud
I prayed that he would finish
But he just kept right on

    Whoaaaaaa Whoaaaaaa
La la la la la la
    Whoaaaaa
    Laaaaaa
    Whoaaaaa
    Laaaaaa
    Laaaaaaaaaa

Strummin' my pain with his fingers
Yes he was singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
    Tellin' my whole life...

One Man's Ceiling Is Another Man's Floor

    Drew Winters:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E56uEeBqKgE

There's been some hard feelings here
About some words that were said

There's been some hard feelings here
    And what is more

There's been a bloody purple nose
    And some bloody purple clothes

That were messing up the lobby floor
    It's just apartment house rules

    So all you 'partment fools
    Remember one man's ceiling
    is another man's floor
    Remember one man's ceiling
    is another man's floor

There's been some strange goin's on
And some folks have come and gone
And the elevator man don't work no more
I heard a racket in the hall

    And I thought I heard a fall
But I never opened up my door
    It's just apartment house sense
    It's like apartment rents

    And there's an alley
In the back of my building
Where some people congregate in shame

I was walking with my dog
And the night was black with smog
When I thought I heard somebody
    Call my name

You can believe, that if I am able, I'll be lurking, looking, liking, lingering, listing songs and telling tales (if I have any) while away on vacay/memorialization/celebration happenings.

Need to vanish some junk files now, to speed up the computer-I'll swing along again in a while.

    Sheryl Crow:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3Nnrj6i9Vk

    Come to me now
And lay your hands over me
    Even if it's a lie
    Say it will be alright
    And I shall believe
    I'm broken in two

And I know you're on to me
    That I only come home
    When I'm so all alone
    But I do believe

That not everything is gonna be the way
You think it ought to be
It seems like every time I try to make it right
It all comes down on me

Please say honestly you won't give up on me
    And I shall believe
    And I shall believe

    Open the door
And show me your face tonight
    I know it's true
No one heals me like you
    And you hold the key

    Never again
would I turn away from you
    I'm so heavy tonight
    But your love is alright
    And I do believe

You won't give up on me
    And I shall believe
    I shall believe
    And I shall believe

  38. Been swinging along for quite a while and now will sling myself into bed, for that early rest, and to early rise, if I'm wise.

    Sweet dreams...

  39. DK,
Good news, you shouldn't need a winter coat when you come to Minnesota. Great songs last night. Did you get your new do?
    Freddie,
The rats are still housed in my garage and won't be entering the house. I have struggled with how to deal with them diplomatically. I am pretty certain the novelty will wear off when the work outweighs the pleasure of being the owner of two rodents. She knows I won't tolerate them not being properly cared for and then I can guilt her into finding them a better home. Manipulative, yes I know.
Can you believe my other daughter had the audacity to ask me if she could house a couple orphaned baby racoons? She and her friends think they can raise them this summer. She was shocked when I said, "No, this is not a ZOO!" There is a shelter they can take them to, but they are being ridiculous.

    IB,
    Is your husband recuperating comfortably?

I hope everyone in Roseland,Rose,Smitty ,Gruff and Syd have a stress-free day. I won't be so lucky.

  40. Good morning, Rose & Roseland: Happy Hump Day...

Birdie: I know it's not funny to you, but I can't help but chuckle at your wonderfully absurd stories of your sweet (if misguided!) girls, and their desire to save the animal planet! lol

First rats, then raccoons...you'll have to start charging admission to the neighbors for viewing all these "pets" in order to pay for their upkeep...

Warm thoughts sent out to Smitty, Gruff, Syd, and the rest of the lovely Roselanders :)
