Rob and Kristen- Together... As Always.

What can I possibly say here?

Well.
Here we are again.
Rob is still in Australia as of this writing...
and this is his last stop before he gets some time off.
Is it wrong for me to want that?
Not only for Robert who must be exhausted...
but for me.
Because I'm exhausted, too.

I swear.
I can't keep up with all the pictures and videos and interviews.
I'm doing a rather shitty job of fangirling lately.

BUT.
I did finally get to see WFE over the weekend.
And I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said.
The movie was beautiful to watch.
Robert was beautiful to watch.
The cast was great...
Especially Tai.
Funny how you just want to hug her...

I thought Robert did a great job in this movie.
I really did.
He gets stronger and better with every movie.
So I can't wait to see whatever is next.
I think what I love most about Rob's acting...
Is that he does so much of it... with just his face.
The way he looks
The way he smiles
The way his eyes look pained... or happy... or well up with tears.
He shows EVERYTHING on his beautiful face.
I love that about him.

I loved the circus. The animals.
The scenery.
It was all so gorgeous to look at.

Favorite parts?

1. Robert.
He not only showed that he can hold his own
against high caliber actors...
He looks absolutely fantastic doing it.
Sweaty. Dirty. T-shirts.
Polished. Tux. Leather jacket.
And what the hell...
The necklace he wore...
Why is that so damn sexy??

2. Robert and Tai.
So completely adorable.
Rob's love of animals shows in every scene with her.
LOVE.

3. Christoph.
He plays a helluva bad guy, doesn't he?
Some people just have that face...
that voice...
That demanding presence.
Brilliant.

4. I thought Reese looked gorgeous
and did a good job.
But I was really too busy looking at Robert.

5. The Hyenas.
Yes.
Gotta tell you I thought it was hilarious.
And the best part?
From an interview with Madame Le Figaro

"And there were a couple of hyenas as well...
They were...uh... that was more complicated to be around them.
Cuz they just want to eat you"

Can I just say...
Rob knows.
Oh YES... He knows.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

YES...

And YES!
 OK.
What didn't I like about the movie?
I pretty much liked the whole thing.
I enjoyed it from start to finish.
It made me cry.
It made me laugh.
It did what it was supposed to do...

But I will be honest.
Not a lot of chemistry with Rob and Reese.
Yeah yeah...
I'm sure some people just think I don't want to see it...
But I didn't.
The kisses were as innocent as you can get
No real passion.
No portraying how much they wanted each other.
It was all... kinda generic.
Like...
Oh well... have to throw this love scene in here.

But other than the lack of chemistry?
LOVE
LOVE
LOVE
Water For Elephants.

Why do I want to see Edward and Bella married so much?

Final thoughts.

The MTV movie awards are coming in June (I think)
I've always made it abundantly clear that I don't get
into the whole voting thing...

But I just find it absolutely HIGHLARIOUS
that the people who scream
"NO ONE CURR"
are the ones going to MTV and voting
and voting
and voting
against Rob and Kristen.
Are the ones who screech the loudest
most vile, disgusting insults...
who bring the most crazy.
So yeah...
GO CRAZY... CRAZY.
Vote
Vote
Vote
Because only people who don't 'CURR'
bother with things like that.
Right?

Just Because.

I finally got my copy of
Waiting For Forever.
So...
I can't wait to see Tom.
And that's what I am going to do right now!

This post is brought to you by the letter *T*

T for Tom
LOVE HIM.

T for Truth.
Robert wants to be with Kristen.

T for Only Time will Tell.

Where will Rob and Kristen turn up.
We already know it will be

TOGETHER!

Bye for now

  2. Ooh first post lucky me ;-)

First of all TFIF....finally the weekend!

Doesn't look like I'll get to see WFE this weekend after all which is a shame. I'm sure I will love it though when I do.

I'm with you Rose, I'm so glad Rob gets to go home to Kris and spend some time with his love....it makes me smile to think of them sharing happy times.

Massive love from me to them both.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  3. As soon as I saw the hyena part in WFE, I knew you were going to comment on it. I just KNEW it!
(Also, Bear looks hyena-like. I think he's sending a message to tell the hyenas "I own you, like I own Bear." Course, that's just speculation. LOL)

  4. Happy Friday everyone!
If us fans need a break from all the WFE promo overload I can't even begin to imagine how Rob feels!
Hopefully he will get home tonight or tomorrow and get some much needed rest & relaxation! Spend some time chilling at home with Kristen & Bear, that has to sound wonderful to him at this point. All that traveling & work & screaming people in such a short amount of time, I don't see how they do it! They must crash when they finally get home!

Hope you are all well & have a great Friday! I can't wait for work to be over & I can sleep alllll day tomorrow! :)

  7. ROSE.... I LOVE the Hopping BUNNY!!!!! Now...about the love scene....I'm assuming you read the book...It was rather "graphic"...I will leave it at that...I can't help but wonder if the "powers that be" were so concerned about the "ratings" that they ended up doing something much worse...downplaying the love scene to the point of "lackluster"...too bad...Rob has already shown in Remember Me...that he can do a steamy sex scene tastefully. I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't know that Rob and Reese don't have "chemistry"...more that I think it is more that whoever was in control of the final product tamed it down to allow the film to be viewed by a wider audience...unfortunately it certainly doesn't show what he can do....

  8. Nice post, Rose..thanks :)

I felt the same way about Tai, she really does make you want to hug her :)

Wishing Rob safe travels back home to Kristen and Bear, also hoping he gets some well deserved time off!

  10. Great post, Rose.

Hello to Kay, Liza, TMI, Groovie, Super, & anyone else here.

I am so ready for the week end!

  11. Hi Kay, Liza, Groovie, Angelica, Super, and anyone I missed :)

DK- A shout out to you from earlier, have fun and enjoy the movie...again :)

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  12. Hi Angelica and Rhonda. You 2 snuck in while I was posting! :)

What's with the bunnies???? Did I miss something or is this an "only Rose knows" thing?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi dottie- Lol, I don't know about the bunnies, but their cute :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. I hope Rob is on an airplane at this moment heading home for a few weeks off before he has to begin filming again. What a whirlwind tour and Rob was perfect along the way.
    Congratulations to Rob...Job Well Done!!

Rose... Glad you found the hyenas to be hysterical too!

Love that new pic of Rob and Kristen in BD...
    now that is CHEMISTRY.

    ReplyDelete
  15. RHONDA, yes the bunnies are very cute. I don't know alot about bunnies, but I have heard a few things, like how rapidly they reproduce.... lol

SUPER, you made a good point about the chemistry. Since RK have such extraordinary chemistry, I wonder if it makes their chemistry w/others pale by comparison?(even if the comparison is unintentional) It would be unfair if that were true because what they have together onscreen is such a rare thing. Not many pairings have it and certainly not in multiple movies together. I don't know, I'm probably way off. It was just a random thought. I'm probably not even making sense!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think now we know why Rob tugs on his hair so much. It is not enough that he had to do a whirlwind promo but the endless screaming and redundant questions must be causing him to want to pull his hair out. I hope he has a quiet and safe journey home.

Once again, an early Happy Mother's Day to those of you who travel. I was to be travelling, but now I'm not.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Happy Mother's Day Rose, and all you gorgeous mothers here on Roseland. Let's hope everyone gets to spend Mother's Day with their loved ones.

Have a wonderful weekend ladies! And some gentlemen.

  19. *sniff sniff* hey did someone step in something? ohhhh she's back, wtf? That boy has to be tired, I can't imagine that schedule. He and Reese both looked tired in the last interviews, totally understandable. @Super, I totally agree. I think they were so concerned with the rating they neglected some of the passion. It read totally different in the book, and they cut ALOT out of the scene. I actually liked them together, but I've read other reviews that mentioned no chemistry. He portrayed the character very passionately, you could feel his pain and indecision, when August was abusing Rosie. Your right about seeing it all on his face. Thanks Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi everyone,

Rose, I take your point about the chemistry between Rob and Reese, but truthfully it didn’t bother me – even though I suppose the romance is a key underpinning of the story. I think that some people tend to pigeon-hole Rob on his looks. They see him solely as the good looking “romantic” lead and I was really glad to see him in a role that was so much more than that. There were so many more facets to his character shown through his relationship with August, his relationship with the animals, etc.. To see him shine in a character with so many more dimensions was very satisfying, and made the movie a real success for me. I’m not sure I’m explaining this well, but I hope you get the idea. It showed that Rob can do well in parts that extend beyond the romantic lead. And the romantic scenes had a sort of chaste feel to them that I might associate with other films depicting the 30’s.

As others have mentioned, I hope Rob gets some down time before Cosmopolis, but I fear it may not be as long as we might hope. I am anything but an expert on film making, but isn’t there usually a period of pre-production? Wouldn’t Rob need to be heading off to wherever they will be filming in advance of the reported start of principal photography (May 23 or 24th)?? However, it works out, I hope he gets some well deserved rest and time with loved ones.

Super – enjoy your conference and safe travels.

Manjen – nice to see you pop in.

Oh and I missed Honey – what did she have to say? I need some comic relief…

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

  21. Hi, Rose!! Great post

Though, I'm loving waking up to all the gorgoeus pics and interviews of Rob every morning, I am glad WFE promo has endend, because Rob looks tired. Hopefully he will get back home soon to Kristen and Bear, and have some well deserve rest until he starts shooting Cosmopolis. Wishing Rob a safe flight back home.

I am going to see WFE on Sunday. I was supposed to go yesterday, but my best friend asked me to wait so she could go with me.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

    Hugs

  22. Hi Katy, Freddie, Super and those I've missed.

I think the director wanted the movie to be so much like a movie of that time period. If you've seen any of those movies, the love scenes are rather chaste. To be honest, I thought Reese played her character to be more aloof and hardened than the Marlena of the book. Again, that was possibly under the director's guidance. I really don't know anything about character interpretation so that's just a guess.

I loved the movie no matter what. It was beautiful.

  23. WARNING for those who haven't seen the movie -- spoilers ahead.

When I saw the movie I'll admit that I thought the sexual chemistry was not what it might have been. But then again I don't think that Marlena and Jacob's relationship was about sexual attraction so much as it was about two people who were both displaced souls -- one because of a bad choice and one because of fate. And they found in each other that which defined each of their places in life. Marlena helped Jacob realize that he was meant to protect and care for creatures -- both animal and human -- who needed someone stronger than themselves to keep them safe and happy. And Jacob helped Marlena find the adventure and excitement she was looking for when she ran away, but in a more grounded and fulfilling context. Seen through this prism, the muted tone of the sex scenes struck the right chord for me. It spoke to a connection that could -- and did -last a lifetime, versus a passion that would burn out.

For me, the far more critical scenes in terms of "selling" the love story -- and the ones that made the most lasting impression -- were the ones at the end -- the black and white footage of their life together in the circus with their kids, the gorgeous shot of Marlena on a horse, and the look on Jacob's face when he saw her riding at their home. That's where I needed to see the connection and be able to believe that these two people could have stayed together for 50 years -- and that's were Rob and Reese really knocked it out of the ballpark. I think that as two performers who both came from solid and loving families, they called on what they each know about lasting love to create those vignettes. And the end result was incredibly vivid and moving.

And I thought that in those scenes, the chemistry was perfect.

  24. Hey Penny - I hope you are well. I totally agree with your thoughts on WFE trying to fit movies of that era. My take on the "chasteness" of the love scenes was the same.

PR Pro - SPOILER WARNING....You are so right about the scenes at the end. They were very impactful. I was already weepy at that point after hearing Hal Holbrook's emotional recounting of Rosie's and Marlena's passing.

Hi Katy - hope all is well with you.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I totally agree with what you said about chemistry. I said the same thing to my friend. I just could not see it at all. I told he had more chemistry in Remember Me. It just seemed pretty tame. But overall the film was fantastic and so worth the time and money to go see.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Real pr pro- What a great analysis. I would have to agree, especially about the ending :)

  29. Spoiler.....

So very well stated real pr pro. I join you in having wanted the last few minutes, the black and white photo "memories", to go on for more time. It was a beautiful testament to the lifelong love affair and commitment between Jacob and Marlena and a brilliant addition to the film version.

  32. Hi Freddie....since you asked about you know who...basically she praised Kristen's acting skills because she has great CHEMISTRY with Jesse, Dakota, etc.
Of course, you can imagine what she said about Rob and I will leave it at that because Honey is an idiot.

Hi Rhonda,Penny, Olivia, 30 and all. Heading out for dinner, after all it is friday nite!!

  33. Hey Rhonda - I'm good, thanks. I sooooo glad it is Friday. For some reason it has been a tiring week? Anything new/fun in your world?

  34. Hey Hope - thanks for updating me on "you know who". I'm glad now that I missed it.

I hope all is well with you. Does your family have plans for celebrating Mother's Day?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Freddie -- basically Honey said that Rob can't act but maybe he will improve his acting skills over time.

The thought of Honey telling anyone that they have a deficiency that will improve over time reminds me of the famous story about an exchange between Winston Churchill and Lady Astor at a dinner party.

Churchill had had a few too many drinks, prompting Lady Astor to call him out on his lack of sobriety, saying with all the disdain and hauteur for which she was well known, "Mr Churchhill, you are drunk!" Slowly raising his gaze from his spotted dick (the pudding that is) Churchill replied, "Yes, I am Madam. And you are very ugly. But in the morning, I shall be sober."

Have been waiting for the Graham Norton interview to be posted on you tube and as of now there are only two short teasers. Well worth watching....."highlarious"! I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard after the second one.

Rose, thank you for the great posts. That sweet little Bear is the cutest puppy. He looks, happy, healthy and is one "lucky dog". His coat is beautiful, love the brindle ...mixture of all the colors. Wonder how large he will be when he is full grown. He has some darlling, wonky long legs to grow into.

I may be in and out for a bit this evening.

  41. SPOILER ALERT
PR PRO, Your analysis was just right. The impression that there was a lack of chemistry was probably more about people's expectations being different from the direction of the movie. I agree that Hal Holbrook bookending the movie was perfect.

As for the sticky one, what a shame she went back off her meds. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Rose,

I agree with your "review" of WFE, I liked the movie (visually stunning) and I think Rob is getting better with each performance, he was perfect as Jacob. But I agree with the lack of chemistry btw Rob and Reese, the romantic scenes didn't seem very natural to me. I'm talking about their on screen chemistry, because I have to say I'm a little bit surprised with their off screen "chemistry". I think I've never seen Rob acting so confortable and playful with anyone in public (yeah, not even with Kristen... it's different, because they're always so guarded) and I really hate to say this, but in some pics they actually seem a little bit flirty. I'm not saying that they were being flirty (I don't think they were, just that it looked like it). I know that they're trying to sell a movie where critics have been harsh about their chemistry, but I felt a little bit "uncomfortable" when I saw some of the pics (where it looks like he's checking her out).
I wish Rob would be a little bit more cautious when he's being photographed, if he doesn't want to feed stupid rumours. I read a lot of crap in the last few days, people insinuating that he and reese have something going on, that he can't take his eyes off her, the usual bullshit...
Honestly, I'm happy that the promo is finally over...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rose, I feel exactly the same way you do about WFE.

I've never seen so many critics talk about the lack of chemistry before. I guess it is integral to a movie when the love story is one of the main plotlines. They probably knew that there wasn't enough "love " there after the film wrapped because we know their love scene and the end montage were additions from the reshoots. I don't understand what happened with Rob and Reese's chemistry in the movie. They seem to have great chemistry during the press tour. They have a fun, easygoing vibe, so why didn't it work? No, I don't think it's the age difference because I thought Reese still looked beautiful and youthful (and you don't need it for sparks to fly). What makes for great movie pairings? You don't have to be in love like R/K because according to Catherine Hardwicke, they clicked on screen the first day they met. It's not neccessary that the costars have to like each other. Look at Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh in Gone with the Wind. Apparently they hated each other, but as Rhett and Scarlett, they may be the ultimate legendary movie couple. Does anyone have any ideas?

  63. Hi dottie, Annie, Freddie, Rhonda, Angelica,

I think we got a drive by. Perhaps our talk of chemistry or lack of made them feel we'd be receptive.

I think bottom line, did you like the movie? If yes, then chemistry or not, it didn;t seem to affect your viewing experience.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi Dottie and Angelica :)

Annie- Awwww, hopefully, it will get better soon :)

Freddie- Lol, somehow...I'm thinking it's still the same :)

  65. Annie I'm sorry you aren't feeling well.

Penny you are right. The movie was wonderful. I didn't think about the chemistry until I read other's impressions. Rose made a good point that it was just one small part of the movie and overall the movie was great. That's the bottom line.

  69. Rose, great post, as usual. Rob looks very tired, and I am glad this tour is over. I hope he gets some rest before he has to go back to work. I know he is looking forward to getting home to Kris and Bear.

I enjoyed WFE. Rob did a wonderful job and looked really great doing it. I loved the elephant, and Hal Holbrook brought tears to my eyes. I didn't see much chemistry between Reese and Rob, but it did not take away from the movie. I will probably go and see it at least one more time.

Have a good weekend Rose, and Happy Mother's Day to all mothers in Roseland.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Penny Lane

I use the letter M because it's the first letter of my name. And I didn't wrote the comment made by "J", if that's what you are insinuating, I don't know who she/he is.

I just read my comment again, and it didn't sound well, sorry (my english is not perfect). I'm not a hater, I'm a fan of both Rob and Kristen and I believe they're in a serious relationship.

What I was trying to say is that I think it's annoying that people are commenting that Rob and Reese were being flirty during the promo and that he's checking her out. I think that's disrespectful to Kristen. I agree that it seems like they were in some pictures and interviews (because they are so confortable and playful with each other), BUT, I DON'T think they were, I did say that.
I was surprised with their off screen "chemistry" because I didn't know they were such good friends, that's all. I don't think there's something wrong with that, and I like Reese too.

I said that Rob should be more careful when's being photographed because the haters pick every little thing to spread stupid rumours. They're insinuating that there's something going on btw them, and that's always annoying. I shouldn't have said that, that sounded harsh, and it's not my business anyway.

And I agreed with Rose regarding the on screen chemistry btw Rob and Reese in WFE (it's my opinion), BUT I liked the movie, I've seen it twice so far.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Nice post Rose. Thank you.

Hope Rob gets to have some well deserved rest soon. As much as I have enjoyed seen him, I cannot even begin to imagine how exhausting this whole promotion experience must have been.

Hope he gets reunited with the beautiful Kristen and the adorable Bear soon.

Best wishes to all the lovely and sane people of Roseland.

  72. Let's Sing!

How Can I Keep From Singing

    Eva Cassidy:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_odw0OeU21w

My life goes on in endless song
    Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
    That hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife
    I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

Oh though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
Oh though the darkness 'round me close,
Songs in the night it giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

When tyrants tremble in their fear
And hear their death knell ringing,
When friends rejoice both far and near
How can I keep from singing?

My life goes on in endless song
    Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
How can I keep from singing?

Lord, how can I keep from singing?
Oh, how can I keep from singing?

    Thank you/prosepp

  73. Let's Go Sailing!

    Come Sail Away

    Styx:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm-Vh3j8sys

    I'm sailing away
Set an open course for the virgin sea
    I've got to be free
Free to face the life that's ahead of me

On board I'm the captain so climb aboard
We'll search for tomorrow on every shore
And I'll try, oh Lord I'll try
    To carry on

    I look to the sea
Reflections in the waves spark my memory
    Some happy some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had

We live happily forever so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But we'll try best that we can
    To carry on

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope And this is what they said
    They said come sail away
    Come sail away
    Come sail away with me

I thought that they were angels but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies
    Singing come sail away
    Come sail away
    Come sail away with me

    Thank you/Joelmp89

  75. Let's Hold Hands!

    Hold My Hand

    Akon & Michael Jackson:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eHgfiFeg2U

    Oooh, yeah, yeah

    This life don't last forever
    (Hold my hand)
So tell me what you're waitin' for (Hold my hand)

    Better off being together
    (Hold my hand)
    Than being miserable alone
    (Hold my hand)

    Cause I've been there before
    And you've been there before
But together we can be alright

    Cause when it gets dark
    And when it gets cold
We can just hold each other
    Till we see the sunlight

So if you just hold my hand
Baby I promise that I'll do
    All I can

    Things will get better
If you just hold my hand
Nothing can come in between us
    If you just hold
Hold my, hold my, hold my hand.

The nights are getting darker (Hold my hand)
    And there's no peace inside
    (Hold my hand)

So why make our lives harder
    (Hold my hand)
    By fighting love, tonight.

So if you just hold my hand
Baby I promise that I'll do
    All I can
    Things will get better
If you just hold my hand

Nothing can come in between us
    If you just hold
Hold my, hold my, hold my hand.

    Let's love
    While the night is young
    Let's love
    Life has just begun
    To become a dream
    A dream of reality

    Let's love
    Press your lips to mine
    Let's kiss
    For that thrill divine
    As we realize
There's no one but you and me

    I find your arms
    So inviting to me
So what am I to do?

    The thrill of your touch
    Is exciting to me
    While our hearts are reeling
    While we have this feeling

    Let's love
    Till the end of time
    Let's love
    Leave the world behind

    Now that we have found
    The wonderful glory of
Two magic words, " Let's love"

  86. Morning Roseland :D

    Nice post Rose :)
I read all your "chemistry" comments and, my fault, also the Spoiler Alert. I just can't help it..
I can't say what i think yet cause I'll go watch WFE tonight (can't wait!!!) so I guess I'll let you know..

In the meantime I have to say that since I watched Twilight I always found myself making comparisons with very other movie or tv show I watched. I'm not just talking about Rob and Kristen movies.. I'm talking general here. Of course they just had it from the first time they saw each other.. but I haven't found that kind of chemistry in no one else, not even movies with people who are real couple in real life..
So of course making comparison with them is not a good thing but I agree two people don't have to be in love to have chemistry..

Speaking of "lack of chemistry" I always forgot to ask if anyone here has watched Red Hiding Hood..
I did and really liked it.. but found that Shiloh guy so arrogant from the first time he appeared on screen. I though it was some prejudice of mine because of how he had talked about K but then, some friends of mine who of course didn't know about it, confirmed me that they had the same impression.
I couldn't picture him at all as an Edward.. he looked so full of himself and self-concentrated even in moments that were supposed to be sweet..
And I thought Kristen was so right saying before you have to make a movie you should be intimidated and humble..
If that was how he showed to the audition.. I just can see why there was no spark at all LOL
Surely he was one of the "only trying to pose" guys haha.

DK- your DJ skills always know when it's the right moment to show up, and do it great :D

I have seen Red Riding Hood and liked it. Quite lovely to look at and rather intriguing.

Have a great time watching WFE.

Today, I saw it for the 3rd time.

I was even more completely involved with and drawn into, the place, time and people of the story. Didn't notice any actors, acting.

And I don't ask for anything, more than that, of anything.

  98. For Gwen, Let's Have Some Fun!

    Save Me San Francisco

    Train:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj7NnR_QJNQ

I used to love the tenderloin
Until I made some tender coin
And then I met some ladies from Marin

    We took the highway
To the one up the coast
    To catch some sun
    That left me
With these blisters on my skin

Don’t know what I was on
But I think it grows in Oregon
So I kept on going, going on right through

    I drove into Seattle rain
    Fell in love
    Then missed the train
    That could have took me
    Right back home to you

    I've been high
    I've been low
    I've been yes
And I've been oh hell no!

I've been rock ‘n roll and disco,
Won’t you save me San Francisco?

    Every day so caffienated
I wish they were Golden Gated
Fillmore couldn’t feel more miles away

So wrap me up return to sender
Lets forget this five year bender
Take me to my city by the bay!

I never knew all that I had
Now Alcatraz don’t sound so bad
At least they have a hella fine Merlot

If I could wish upon a star
I would hitch a cable car
To the place that I can always call my own!

I've been up, I've been down,
I've been so damn lost since you’re not around,

    I been reggae and calypso
won’t you save me San Francisco?

    To tell you the truth
    I miss everything, everything
It’s a wild, wild beautiful world

But there’s a wide eyed girl back there
    And she means everything, everything

    I've been stop
    I've been go
    I've been yes
And I've been oh, hell no!

    Save me San Franciso
Won’t you save me San Francisco?

    Thank you/mathew349

I told my son yesterday, that I may be working again. He almost fell off of the highchair! (We were in a bar)

He had to ask, who would I be working for, and wasn't that a silly thing?

I said, why, no one! And he wondered what I meant.

So, I told him I may make hats...

It's the I, that's the why, and not the who, for that would be me, and it would be true.

  111. Good morning from rainy England!

Just wanted to say I watched The Graham Norton Show last night. It was brilliant, so funny. Rob was fab and I love Hugh Laurie too so it was a double win for me :)

I spoke to my mum this morning and she had also watched it, she said Rob was a 'charming young man'!.

    High praise! lol

    Lots of love,
    Liza

    ReplyDelete
  112. @Birdie
Funny, but he did not react to the hat-making, only the working for myself.

He laughingly said that of course, I would not work a real job, for a real company, and do real work! I had to agree, wholeheartedly.

Mother's Day, I'll wear a hat, that I didn't make, but I'll see how the public responds, since the RW and all, as you said.

Most of the ladies I've discussed hats with, didn't like the Brits ones. I loved them, but don't kid myself that they would be such a hit over here.

My market is totally myself, and I'll market me in hats, to the market, when I go to the market, and see what's what when I have.

  113. Good morning Liza!
I've seen a few clips and it looks to be very entertaining. I think Rob looks darling as always. I just watched a few Sydney interviews. They were pretty funny. I think he is getting slap-happy after answering all the same questions for over 2 weeks.

Count me among the people who watched the video of the Graham Norton show and loved it. Now there's a great TV host. I too love Hugh Laurie (I'm a House fan as well) and was sorry I missed his part which was cut out of the video I saw. I looked like great fun. I hope the comedienne who was on the show finds her cat.

Well I'm off to the big city to do some shopping, so I hope you all have a great day.

    Til later.

  130. Good morning dear Rose and Roseland,

Glad that so many are taking a look at Rob on the Graham Norton show via You Tube. It is priceless and indiscribably hilarious.

Also nice that many more of you are finally able to go see WFE. Have seen it 3 times and it is a beautiful and wonderful theatre experience each time. Hope that it does very well this Mother's Day weekend.

Wishing for a very calm, private, happy several weeks for Rob and Kristen. Time to rest, renew, and resume real life before the next big work project. May they have longer and more unnoticed moments of normal time together, with friends and family during their non-working hours.

Have a beautiful Saturday and may tomorrow be the loveliest Mothers Day for all the Roseland "mums".

Appreciate the MDay wishes. Can't seem to get off of the telephone today, but I am not complaining, for it is all good.

You also have a wonderful weekend. Regards to Gruff & Syd. Do come back soon. <3

  138. Lovely post Rose, as always!

Just popping in to say hiya to everyone and to also extend my best wishes to all the Roseland mammas for a happy mother's day.

All I want for mother's day is 2 solid hours of 'me' time so I can FINALLY see Water for Elephants. (I'm so ashamed that I haven't seen it yet!).

I'm bringing along my sweet mom so we can celebrate together.

    Have a great night...

  139. Hi Rhonda-I'm good. I can't keep up with the people here though. Too many posts. How are you?

  145. This is so funny! We keep posting at the same time, and missing each other.

    @Smitty
It is hard to keep up with the posts and all of the new posters, too. We have some lovely folks from around the world, like Brazil.

Some days, we have great convos going and new recipes.

    How are you?

  146. More Lovelies!

    Hello, Groovie, MySoCalledLife, Olivia, realprpro!

    @Smitty
You flatter me but I'll take it. It's so much fun, when I am hunting down just the right one for you, or others, and then for me.

  147. Hello Roseland!
4 am here.. cant sleep as usual.. I'm still thinking of WFE.. which i saw a few hours ago.. and it was just simply beautiful..
I enjoyed it a lot.. from the very beginning that wa so touching.. to the end that was so breathetaking.
I also cried in some scenes.. I guess cause I just can't stand violence on animals.. and that was kinda too much for me..
And Rob was so good.. he was so expressive in every single scene and portrayed it beautifully!
I liked a lot the scenes with animals, and Tai of course.. god he's so right! she's a great actress! LOL and just too smart and cute!
Again, I don't think the chemistry was bad.. just it was not super but not bad at all..
and the last footage totally killed me! *sigh*
    very beautiful beautiful movie!
Definitely going to watch it again and was so glad to find the cinema almost full and heard lots of comments about how beautiful the movie was! :)
So am so proud of Rob! he was great in this..

it's not mother's day yet for the most of you.. anyway.. have a happy day!
I'm sure you are all great moms!

  148. Hi to everyone here!

What a day! I've been cleaning out closets and packing for our move. It's nice to sit down and rest for a bit.

Hope you all enjoy your Mother's Day whether you are one or have one :)

    ReplyDelete
  149. DK- I agree with Smitty, you are a dj extraordinaire :)

    Smitty- Any new music lately?

    ReplyDelete
  150. Hi Olivia, Groovie, Smitty, DK, MySoCalledLife, Fio and Rhonda. I hope you are all well and have had a good day. It’s been a nice low key day for me, albeit one that’s been a little hard on the credit cards.

Do any of you have plans for Mother’s Day? I’ll be talking to my mom tomorrow but won’t get to see her until Wednesday when I get to Montreal for work. I’m looking forward to it.

I hope tomorrow is a good one for all the mom’s on the board.

I’ve been rewatching the Graham Norton clips and having a chuckle. All around it was a great show.

  151. Anyone doing anything fun tonight?
I went over to my parents house for a few hours, watched some sports but when my dad turned it to nascar I had to call it after about an hour lol so I came home, I'm just gonna hang out, maybe read or play some video games.

    ReplyDelete
  152. @Fio
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about and experience of WFE! See how easy it is to want to watch it again?

    How's the studying going?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Hey dottie - sorry I missed you. We must have been typing at the same time.

I hope Melinda is breaking the bank in Vegas and IB's daughter is doing well at her cheer competition.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Groovie- I wish, I'm working this weekend so not much fun. What video games do you like?

    ReplyDelete
  155. Groovie, I would take NASCAR over packing for a move.... well...maybe not. To top off my evening the husband felt compelled to introduce our boys to the movie "Tremors." He wants them to be familiar with the classics I suppose. ;)

My word is emitzit -- sounds kind of gross!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Hey Rhonda - sounds like you had a rough day. I hope it is improving now.

DK - you were busy last night. I thought you were trying to shift your clock around.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Hi Rhonda, Freddie, Dottie, Smitty, olivia, Groovie.

DK- Yes LOL definitely.. and also this friend of mine (who usually is very critical to movies, said she really liked it :D).

    The study is.. going.. hehe.
And you know what? I have an exam the day after MMA... which airs here on MTV at 3 AM in the morning LOL i'll be a zombie haha and imagine what I will tell my professor hahaha.
    thanks for asking anyway.
    how are you?

    Freddie, any news about Thomas?

    ReplyDelete
  158. @Dottie
Hi, there! You're moving to Alabama, right? Tons of work to move, isn't that the truth.

    @Freddie
I saw earlier that you were going out shopping, lucky you! Buy anything wonderful?

Thanks for the MDay wishes. Kids are taking me to a late dinner, when they get back from a college graduation in Ohio.

    @Groovie
I had some fun earlier following the Kentucky Derby! Did you see those hats? Incredible and like the Royal Wedding hats, but they were more jazzed up, in true American style.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Rhonda-no great new music really. I've been kind of busy and out of that loop. If I find anyone good I'll let you know. Someone gave me some really old vinyl for my birthday that I want to listen to and maybe I'll be able to recommend some of it. Olivia-thanks for the wishes for my mom.

Just got a call that my friend is close so I'll say goodnight to you all and again, have a great day to all of you moms-

    ReplyDelete
  160. Rhonda-
It depends, I still have my classic nintendo I got when I was like 5 when they first came out lol, so that's always fun to break out like mario or duck hunt
Or I have an xbox360, play a lot of rock band/guitar hero, the beatles one is awesome.
I also have this civil war game where u pick a side and play thru battles, I'm a total history nerd lol!

    ReplyDelete
  161. Freddie- Just a busy day, but not too bad :)

DK- I thought about you when I saw all the Derby hats, they were great!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Yay! People are here tonight!

Hi DK, Freddie, Fio, Rhonda, Groovie, Olivia, Smitty...

Groovie - my fun plans for tonight involve sitting on the couch and trolling food blogs for birthday cake decorating ideas. My son will be 3 soon and I haven't a clue what to do for his cake.

The problem is, I keep coming across other great food things and keep bookmarking them so I can make them later. Like... check this out?! How good does this look??

    http://annies-eats.net/2011/03/23/cinnamon-sugar-pull-apart-bread/

Fio - Your description of the movie and your feelings while watching it make me excited to go see it tomorrow! I really can't wait. Hope you are well lovely. What are you studying for? Finals?!

DK - will you be spinning some mother's day themed tunes? I have faith you could think of some, as none come to my mind immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Fio - thanks for asking about Tomas. No real change - we'll do another round of blood tests in roughly 6 weeks to gauge the rate of progression of the disease. In the interim, he seems fine, just not at all happy with his new food now that he's had it for a week or two. And I have to remember not to give him too many treats.

DK - a necklace for me and a bracelet for my mom for Mother's Day - oh yeah...and two leather jackets. So it was a good haul. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  164. MySoCalledLife- mmm yummie.. that looks amazing! *drools* lol

can't wait for you to watch WFE! i actually wished I was you right now LOL the excitement before seeing something new is always the best part for me hehe.

I'm studying for my exams right now.. have to take 6 exams in 2 months and I just don't know how I'm gonna do this...
this f***ing Uni is a total mess..

    how are you?

    ReplyDelete
  165. Smitty- Oh, I love vinyl, so that's really cool. Let me know what you think :) Give my best to Gruff and Syd, take care :)

    ReplyDelete
  166. MysocalledLife-
My mom always made the most epic cakes for my bday! She did one once that looked exactly like a burger & fries. She can make some awesome cakes!

What is your kid into? U can make the cake around that theme. Like if he is into a certain character or movie or toy like cars or whatever

    ReplyDelete
  167. DK Yep I'm moving to N AL,just south of Nashville.

Smitty, you're long gone but I trust you are doing great. Enjoy yourself, sweetie!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Freddie- no problem, when it comes to animal I'm iper-sensitive.
    Is he eating at least?

    Goodnight to you Smitty.

  169. Hi Freddie and everyone,

Freddie, sounds like you were able to indulge in some retail therapy. Hope you were able to enjoy a great lunch somewhere while you were out.

This is a working weekend for me. Only half a day today and tomorrow, so not so bad.

Did get a lovely phone call from my son this evening and he will call again tomorrow for the official Mothers Day call. : )

Take care dear Smitty. Thank you for peeking in when you can.

Sweet Fio, bless your heart, you need to be sleeping. You definitely will need to think up of a good excuse to tell your profe during exam time if you don't get enough sleep and study time.

    ReplyDelete
  170. @MySCL
Good idea about the MD themed tunes. I'll be my brain in gear and if the red wine has not blurred my memory, I'll find some. Want them tonight or manana?

    @Freddie
You are right, I am trying to shift the bod into day mode, and sometimes even succeed!
Last night I had such inspiration, I almost couldn't stop posting songs. Only 10, then, in the end.
Maybe tonight, it will be Happy this and that, instead of Let's this and that, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  171. You ladies were lucky with videogames! lol
for some reason I never even had a playstation..
guess my mom thought since we are all female, we didn't need one..

    ReplyDelete
  172. Oh olivia, thanks for caring but in some way I always make it haha.
I'm a quite lucky person when it comes to exams! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  173. Hi MSCL- That's a great age. I bet he's a cutie :)

    ReplyDelete
  174. MySoCalledLife – that recipe sounds absolutely delicious and definitely off my diet. LOL. OH well, I can dream.

Fio – that’s a bummer about the MMA’s being right before your exam. It always works that way doesn’t it.?

Dottie – NOOO! Not the movie Tremors….it wasn’t the best movie….although Reba with a gun it kind of amusing.

Olivia – I wish it had been a nice lunch but I just grabbed a bite at the food court. I hope you get to have some time to enjoy yourself tomorrow. Your son sounds like a real sweetie to call twice.

DK – I liked all the action songs – flying, dancing etc.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Fio - Oh my goodness! 6 exams? Sounds grueling! I don't miss those days. College kicked my ass. I'm a working 'professional' and still think working full time is a cake-walk compared to college. Good luck! I'll say a little prayer for you ;)

Groovie - That's awesome that your mom made such brilliant cakes for you. That's why I want to make an amazing one for my little guy. I want him to look back when he's older and say "my mom made the most kick ass cakes for me..."

Right now, the leading cake contenders are a fish-themed cake and Curious George. We'll see which one wins.

I will also be serving these on his b'day, since I just stumbled upon them and MUST have them:

    http://twotinykitchens.com/2011/02/23/peanut-butter-pretzel-bites/

DK - I'll let you decide when to spin them. Whenever your most inspired or the mood strikes. I'm excited to see what you come up with :)

Hi Rhonda! He is a cutie, if I do say so myself.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Oops - typo - it should say "is kind of amusing".

    ReplyDelete
  177. Alrighty, think I'm gonna go run some errands, spend an obscene amount of $ filling up my jeep with gas lol and I need cake. And dr.pepper! Lol so I guess I'm going to the store too!

Have a nice night everyone! I'll prob check back in later to see what's up!

    ReplyDelete
  178. Freddie- i know right? and it's the second time actually..
I had the same situation last year as well so I ended up sleeping 2 hours before it but was so happy the day after :D LOL

MSCL- you're such a sweetie. I would appreciate a prayer actually lol
what is your work? if I may ask of course..

and you wanting your son to remember you ike that is really sweet *awwww*
