The last few days in this fandom have been ridiculous.
OK.
Things are always ridiculous...
but imagine doubling... even tripling that.
Quadrupling?
Because people are truly fucked up.
Truly.
Let's talk Petitions.
Oh yes.
You all have seen/heard about them.
It started a while ago...
When some Ninnies wanted to petition Fox
to keep Kristen away from the WFE premiere.
Sad... but true.
Oh sure
They claimed it was all a JOKE.
But we all know better.
They meant every bitter angry word.
(Nice try though... heh)
That brings us to the petition
to have Josh Horowitz interview Rob and Kristen together
for Breaking Dawn promo.
Is that a bad thing?
Does that hurt or harm anyone... in any way?
No.
It's just people wanting to see Rob and Kristen
talking about the movie and Edward/Bella.
Normal... yes?
Co-stars in movies do that ALL the time.
But just because its
Rob AND KRISTEN
People got all up in arms about it...
"Quit trying to force them together!"
Never mind that they are starring in the movies together.
Never mind that no outcry was heard
when Rob and other female co-stars from his
other movies were interviewed together.
No.
Just Kristen.
Funny how that works.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Ninnie started this.
(sometimes their alternate personalities get confused)
Then they can all lament on how picked on
and trod upon they are...

The guy goes to one or two functions...
And he's an immediate manwhore.
I don't get that.

that Rob isn't with Kristen...
That you would paint him out to be
some drunken pig...
getting it on with whatever female is near by?
Really?
The man is working.
He is allowed to get out and have a beer with castmates...
Or listen to music...
What is he supposed to do?
Stay in his hotel every night?
And another thing.
How convenient that some random tweets
are taken as gospel.
Strange double standard.
All those tweets saying Rob and Kristen
were walking Bear...
Or how about the tweets claiming to see
Rob and Kristen snuggling and kissing in restaurants?
THOSE were bullshit lies.
Of course they were.
But some random person sees Rob in a bar...
TRUTH!
Or sees Kristen in any city
as long as its NOT Toronto...
TRUTH!!
Whatever happened to
Pics or it didn't happen?
Or is that just for the stuff about

All sorts of speculation about where Kristen is.
Do you know?
Has anyone seen her since London?

I love that people assume she hasn't seen Rob
since the MTV awards show.
Are you sure?
So much chatter about what she is doing...
and why she isn't in Toronto with Robert.
And of course...
She can't have work related things going on...
No one is THAT busy.
And what happens WHEN (not if)
she shows up in Toronto?
Will she then conveniently become
the clinging famewhore?
See how that goes?
If Kristen were seen in Toronto
(and lets face it people...she hasn't been seen anywhere)
She's just a clinger and there for PR...
If Kristen isn't seen in Toronto
Rob isn't important enough to her
and they broke up!
I would say she can't win for losing...
But that's not true at all.
Because Kristen has already WON.

4. So I'm not entirely clear about the
Jeff Buckley thing.
I read that Penn Badgley (?) didn't get the part.
And that there were 2 different movies...
and that Rob didn't get the part...
and that they were looking for someone who
wasn't too well known to play the role.
Which kinda makes sense in a way.
(Tom Sturridge anyone???)
But there hasn't been an official announcement
(as far as I know at this writing)
as to who got the role.
It might even be good for Rob
to have some time off after Cosmopolis.
The guy has been working nonstop...
(yeah, I get the striking while the iron is hot stuff)
He needs some downtime.
Some time to not shave
and get all bushy and beardy
and he can get himself over to London
and hang with his family...
His friends...
(Tom Sturridge anyone?)
And of course...
He can be close to Kristen
while she is filming SWATH.
Sounds about perfect.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad Kristen has been able to be all ninja wherever she has been and that Rob has been able to get out for a few beers. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like for them to try to live a normal life under such extraordinary circumstances...thankfully they have each other in the craziness.

Hi rose, nice post, some of the things you wrote refer to me,i feel so ashamed, because my faith is slipping! not good, but i see totally what you mean, the rob haters are shipping garret with kristen, and yes i know it's her co-star, but it's being done!because of rob i started taking interest im kristen, but i saw almost all her movies, and i saw allot of garret movies also, and though he was a cuite pie, hardly saw more than five of rob's but love him the most.

I really hope that the petition to get Kristen away from Rob is a joke because if it’s not, then the people who started it are really in need of help. If real, what were they thinking would happen? Were they really delusional enough to think that Rob would follow their wishes and actually break up with Kristen just because some people signed an on-line petition? Yeah right….
Thanks of the pictures in your post. I absolutely love the one of them lying down. The gentle way Rob’s thumb is touching Kristen’s wrist and the way he is looking at her is so beautiful – and so natural for them.
I hope wherever Rob and Kristen are at the moment, that they are well and that any reunion in their future will be a happy one.

Maybe they can even give her a kiss on the cheek like the pic in today's post. Now, how many signatures do you think I'd get??? And my petition wouldn't hurt anyone-except maybe Kristen, if the beards were too scratchy! LOL

Great post as always Rose! I hadn't heard of the petition to get Kristen away from Robert. I mean, really??? That's got to be the dumbest. But just when you think there are no more lows, this has to be it, somehow, someway, there's always a new low reached. I hate painting it as people from the fandom, because I'm in the fandom...and I'd never think of anything so stupid. If I support Rob (or Kristen, see how that works) then it's unconditional. Oh well.

This morning I thought I would be productive and started to wash windows. These windows should be able to be washed entirely from the inside of the house. Well, it didn't go so well and I think I broke one of them. It came out and I can't get it back in because it is too heavy and unwieldly for me alone.

Rose, great post. These petitions are beyond ridiculous. Do these people think their petitions are going to accomplish anything? I miss seeing Kristen, but I know she needs this time, and who is to say she isn't in Toronto. As for Rob going out with castmates, there is nothing wrong with that, and I'm not sure I believe anything until I see a picture. Rob and Kris love each other, and I don't think either one would cheat on the other--I simply refuse to believe it.

Have you ever tried to give cool stuff away, free, and no one wants it?
I am on a Freecycle online site, where you can do that, to keep "stuff" out of garbage dumps/being environmentally responsible, etc. You can't imagine how particular folks can be with even "free" things!
Syd may have to put up with a lot of misc. "stuff" when he lives with me. But since he is already one of my adopted Roseland sons, along with all Roselanders; someday it may actually become "his" stuff (after that final fond farewell event).
That would happen via inheritance of things, that my body-born children don't want.
Did I know you back then, when I adopted all of Roseland? If not, want to be adopted by the FGM, which is me?

Cars have been a bane in many marriages and in one famous one for sure!
Paul Newman raced cars and Joanne Woodward, his wife, did not like that.
She loved the Arts, like ballet, theater and was dedicated to living in the East, living a "normal", and family-first, life.
Paul loved it there, too, but went to California often to see his pals, and party. He raced many times, and won a few, too.
Once, he said that for a couple with so little in common, it was amazing their marriage lasted so long. Something was working well, for both, apparently.

To think that they can ever control anything that goes on between Rob/Kristen in their professional or personal life makes me laugh. That something that will never happen - both make their own decisions. And it is pretty clear to me that they know very well what it takes to make "their relationship" work so that they can spend as much time together as possible when "work" may be in different parts of the country/world. Also love your parting sing/song lyric. Same song popped into my head last Monday and I though of Rob/Kristen right away and their love of the 60's. Happy weekend all

Hey Roselandians -- seems like ages since I've been able to hang out. Been crazy busy at work getting ready for the annual Cannes Lions event. It's the advertising and media industry's version of the Cannes Film Festival, but instead of Brad Pitt we have the Old Spice guy. I fly out tomorrow night and return on Thurs, so if I'm mostly MIA for the next several days that's why. Of course if anything earth shattering happens -- somewhere on the probability scale between an R/K public declaration and CandyKizzes getting into "Fordam" Law School, I'm counting on you guys to let me know! Even it it means tearing myself away from Robert Redford (he's one of the guest speakers) I will find a way to join in.
