Robert and Kristen-- Maybe

Really?

Is it wrong that when I saw the pics/video of Rob
getting all mad at the 'paps' in the scene from Cosmopolis...
That I had to smile?
He's just not scary.
Sorry.
Even angry Robert is all kinds of cute.
Maybe its just me...
Maybe Robert really is all bad ass when he's pissed off...
Maybe.
But he is just so adorkable and stuff to be all tough.
Maybe its just me.

Do I sense some sarcasm?
Sweet Kristen.
I love how she's smiling at the camera here.
Is she really smiling?
Could it be a sarcastic smile?
Hmmm.

Kristen has looked gloriously happy since the
MTV Award show.
Gloriously.
Her and Rob were so giddy and sweet that night...
and Kristen hasn't stopped smiling since.
Nope.
BIG SMILES.
Every time we've seen her.
Why so happy Kristen?
She looks so content...
So satisfied.
So... In love.

;)

So close... yet so far.

I did it again.
I asked.
I received.
Every time I ask for a picture of Tom
I get one.
Of course.... Sienna is always there too
But its kinda cool.
Its always good to see Tom...
Even with all the hair and that hat.
He doesn't look so happy in this picture
He was like following 50 paces behind her
(I conveniently used a picture that she wasn't in)
And Sienna
(Who I don't hate btw... so shut up)
Looked even more unhappy.
Which kinda surprised me because she always seemed
so happy to see cameras taking her picture.
I adore Tom.

Do you think if I asked for a picture
of Rob and Kristen it would happen too?
No.
I don't want swarms of paparazzi to descend on them...
Maybe a simple fan pic
You know.
Kinda like the one we got from IOW that year.
Remember that?
The little girl who spotted them...
No one believed Kristen was there then either.
Or in Budapest.
Or in London.
Or anywhere Robert is.
Sometimes we don't get pictures until MUCH later.
So.
One simple fan pic...
That's all.

Its been almost 4 weeks since we have seen them together.
I know we have gone through longer periods of time before...
And the same bullshit drama followed them then too
But it doesn't really matter does it?
Rob will be done soon enough with Cosmopolis.
Kristen will be heading to London for SWATH.
And I know some people are hoping against hope
that Robert doesn't follow her there...
But after Cosmo... he might actually have some time off.
And what better place to go than London?
Family.
Friends.
Kristen.
Well...
Let's face it.
It's ALL about Kristen.
We all know it.

People can shove costars and directors daughters
at Robert all they want.
But there's nothing beyond work there.
There has never been more than that.
If there was... it would have been all over the place.
All we've seen are a couple of pictures of Caitlyn Croneberg
doing her job on the set of the movie.
And Rob doing his job.

Get the fuck OFF.

Women who have close proximity to Rob
seem to bring out the worst in some people.
Yeah...
They all get hit with the fanatical side of this fandom.
It's scary.
It's embarrassing.
But remember...
No one gets hit harder than Kristen.
Day in
Day out
For years now.
Relentless
Obsessive
Hate.

And yet...
Robert still loves Kristen.
Day in
Day out.
For years now.
Relentlessly.
Obsessive.
Love.

Green Sheep. Forever.

This post is brought to you by the letter *H*

H for Happy 4th of July!
I will be scarce

So everyone have a great weekend...

PR is at the ready.

H for HAHAHAHAHA!

This is nothing.

  1. Well, my timing was perfect today. Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone who celebrates.

A-1 as in steak sauce? Maybe someone is grilling steak? Will there be a party?

    Olivia,

I left you a bit of nostalgia on the last post.

  2. Hi Rose,

Thanks for the post, as usual. I hope you and your family have a wonderful, peaceful long weekend at your cottage.

dottie – I’m sure it’s tough to “let your boys go” but how great is it that you’ve equipped them so well that they can make this trip themselves. I’m sure they will miss you too.

I hope my fellow Canadians have had a wonderful Canada Day with family and friends. It’s been a great celebration here. If I don’t get back to the board beforehand, I also wanted to wish everyone in the States a great July 4th/Independence Day. Enjoy. To all of our Roselanders abroad, have a wonderful weekend.

To our favourite trio, I hope Rob, Kristen and Tom are all happy and well, whether together or geographically apart.

Safe travels and kind regards to all,

    Freddie

  4. Hello everyone!
    Happy happy Friday!
I'm still enjoying my vacation, I'm being dragged to a rodeo tonight with my entire family, so that's interesting...and odd...and I really won't fit in there but oh well! Lol!!

Great post! Love smiley happy Kristen, and Rob too! They are both looking really happy lately, good for them..makes me happy too!

Hope Rob, Kristen and all of you have a wonderful, happy, safe weekend! Here in Texas they can shoot off their own fireworks apparently, so my family does that..so that will be something new for us to experience, should be fun!

  5. Kristen looks great in that pic, but i agree Rose, seems like she might not be smiling cause shes super excited to see the paps;) Maybe one of them tripped and made her smile!

PL- I A-1 totally made me think of steak sauce too, could Rose be hinting its almost the 4th and people BBQ!lol

Rose and Everyone- have a great, relaxing weekend!

  6. Hey ROSE and Roseland friends!

PL, A-1 Steak Sauce was my first thought as well. I like my steak med-rare if we're having a Roseland BBQ!

FREDDIE, You are very sweet. I'm not sure that my boys will miss me - they will be having too much fun w/all their buds they've been missing since we moved. That's OK. I told them that their dad & I will be "honeymooning" while they are away. The looks I got were priceless! haha

I wonder if Rob took pleasure in punching a pap, even if it was just pretend? Couldn't blame him if he did. ;)

I hope everyone enjoys the week end. To my fellow Americans, have a safe and happy 4th!

Happy Canada Day to those who claim Canada as their home.

Happy 4th to my fellow Americans.

  10. Regular lurker, but all this talk about steak/A1 gave me the courage to post. My father-in-law was a restaurantur here in Chicago and this is his steak marinade recipe for all of you to enjoy this holiday weekend. Have a fifth on the on the fourth!

    Wales of Michigan Avenue Marinade
    3/4 C oil
    1-1/2 tsp ground ginger
    1/4 C soy sauce
    1/4 C honey
    2 tsp cider vinegar
    2 tsp chopped onion
    1 clove garlic

Mix all ingredients together and put in large Ziplock bag. Add steaks. Leave in frig at least 4 hours--overnight is the best. Take steaks out of bag and slap those puppies on the grill. Very yummy indeed!!

  11. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY ROSELANDERS, I hope Rob and Kris have an enjoyable holiday, and I think Rob will follow Kris to London while she is filming...it is his home, his family is there, and most important Kris will be there. I think Kris looks so happy and so beautiful, everything is right in her world. Have a happy weekend everyone. Take care.

  12. Professor Wales,

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom and posting the recipe. I was just contemplating a marinade for flank steak and I think I'll try your.

Does anyone out there know how to transfer photos from PC to Ipad? I tried emailing to myself but the quality suffers. Any suggestions?

    Freddie- Happy Canada Day!

Dottie- I'm sure your boys will miss you, they might not admit it, but they will :)

Groovie- I've never been to a rodeo either, but it sounds fun. You'll have to tell us how you liked it.

Professor wales- Thanks for sharing the marinade recipe.

  15. Hi Roseland friends! Well, we finally made it to the beach...my barely two year old car BROKE DOWN (overheated) and we arrived at our resort in the TOW TRUCK w/ the car. The driver unloaded the car HERE, w/ us. It was quite hilarious. Security was baffled...I will get the car serviced tomorrow, but the driver was actually brilliant to bring us, and our stuff in the car here tonight! WHEW! I'm now enjoying a Stella and watching the waves. Life is never dull, is it?

Oh, as we waited for the tow truck in an Exxon parking lot, we saw a crack deal go down. Good times.

I hope you are all having a safe, wonderful holiday! I'm a lot better now! Nothing, not even a broken car, will dampen this holiday. Cheers all....

  17. It is so strange how people interpret what they see in the media. I was thinking about this when you said it is difficult to imagine a scary Rob.When I see all the negative things written about Kristen and Rob,I wonder are we seeing the same thing as the others? I get the distinct impression that these are two sincere, kind people with a strong value system. What in hell are these other people seeing? I just don't get it.

Welcome Prof. Wales! The marinade sounds great, thank you.

Thanks for the post before you leave for a little R&R, Rose. I hope you enjoy the holiday with your family. I hope Rob and Kristen are able to enjoy the holiday with each other and family.
Whether you celebrate July 4th or not, I hope all you Roselanders have a great weekend! It should be a HOT one!

  29. Good morning dear Rose and Roselanders,

Have a wonderful weekend away Rose. Hope you are up at the lake enjoying some peace and quiet with your family.

PL, you are so sweet. Yes, I am missing the beautiful state. No trip planned up there for this summer. Headed to Santa Fe soon. Will have to find the Spoon Foods and Zingermans Deli catalogues and order some delicious jams and other treasures. Really do wish I could zip over to the Ann Arbor Arts Festival in July! Loved going to that every year.

IB, wishing you strength, energy, patience and a sense of humor for the coming MIL visit.

Profe Wales, thank you for the marinade. Will try it with chicken.

Oh my sjw! I'm wishing you a most wonderful rest of your vacay. You certainly have maintained a positive attitude after the car breakdown episode. The added Exxon parking lot entertainment sounded very scary! Thank goodness you arrived safely to the beach.

Hi 30, **waves**! Love the 4th of July decorating that you did for us. So clever.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone. Hope that Rob and Kristen have great happiness and lots of privacy this extended weekend.
Hugs for y'all, and for Smitty, Gruff, and Syd!

Have a wonderful July 4th everyone!

To Kenzz, Olivia, PL, Rhonda.........Thank you for your kind comments from a few days ago. It was many years ago but the memory will always, always be there.
PL....... Nothing at all trite in what you said. :)

I might be a bit late with this but you can transfer pics from PC to I-pad using I-Tunes. Just connect the I-pad to the PC using the cable that came with the I-Pad, choose the
photos you want to transfer and sync.

    To everyone travelling...... Travel safely.

To Freddie.....I'm late in wishing you a happy Canada Day. I hope it was fun. Enjoy your time with your mom.

*IB*...... I hope all is well.

DK, Birdie, Gwen and all the others I am completely positive I've missed.......Take care.

Professor Wales.......Thanks for the marinade. Will definitely use at some point this weekend.

I love how Rob and Kristen continue to do things their way...Fantastic!

I intend to have a very, very lazy 4th of July weekend!
Take very good care all. :)

Prof Wales, thanks for sharing the marinade recipe. I look forward to trying it out.

My boys arrived at their destination safe and sound. I got a short "we're here" text to set my mind at ease. Thank goodness for technology, huh? lol

Have a great Saturday. Safe trip wishes to Rose and her fam, as well as any others who may be traveling today.

  32. Thanks Olivia! We just found out my car won't be ready until Tuesday! (we were supposed to leave Monday) So, we're looking on the "bright side of life" (cue Monty Python singers) and enjoying being stranded at the beach! There are worse things that could happen, right? We're safe, we have a really good story, and we're oceanfront at our favorite beach! I'm choosing to stay positive.

Cheers to you all! I hope you all stay safe and positive this holiday weekend.

  35. sj,

It's too bad you had the car problems and the extra expense, but the best trips are really ones where something unexpected happens. Those are the vacations we remember long after, and the kids especially do.

    Annie,

Thanks for the info on the Ipad. I tried to sync but I kept getting an error saying it was going to delete all my apps. I found out I didn't have a box checked to sync apps and that was preventing me from transferring photos. All good now, sorry for boring everyone with this lol.

If I do run into you and Sienna, I'll also shout out your favorite song (it's that special one) so you'll know it's me, instead of some impostor, lol. Besides, my hair is darker right now, and although my avi is me, I am looking like someone else for now. I'd wear one of my fab hats but anyone can do that, too, so your favorite song, it must be.

    Beautiful Day

    U2:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA5zt3RvNSo

The heart is a bloom, shoots up through stony ground
But there's no room, no space to rent in this town

You're out of luck and the reason that you had to care,
The traffic is stuck and you're not moving anywhere.

You thought you'd found a friend to take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand in return for grace

    It's a beautiful day,
the sky falls And you feel like
    it's a beautiful day,
    Dont let it get away

Youre on the road but youve got no destination
Youre in the mud, in the maze of her imagination

You love this town even if that doesnt ring true
Youve been all over and its been all over you

    It's a beautiful day,
    Don't let it get away
    It's a beautiful day,

Touch me, take me to that other place
Teach me love, I know Im not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out

See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colours came out

    It was a beautiful day
    Don't let it get away
    A beautiful day

Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you dont have you dont need it now
What you dont know you can feel it somehow

What you dont have you dont need it now
    You dont need it now

    Thank you/TheCNasto

And I had two Jumbo red hots with tomatoes, Vadalia onions, and lots of mustard (French's only) on a poppyseed bun that had been steamed over the red hot water in the pot.
Now I have taken digestive enzymes and a purgative (herbal detox) to rid myself of all of the fats/chemicals/additives/fuckola in them, which justifies it all, in the first place.

Maybe this time, I'll be lucky
    Maybe this time, he'll stay

    Maybe this time
    For the first time
    Love won't hurry away

    He will hold me fast
    I'll be home at last
    Not a loser anymore
    Like the last time
    And the time before

    Everybody loves a winner
    So nobody loved me;
    'Lady Peaceful,' 'Lady Happy,'
That's what I long to be

All the odds are in my favor
    Something's bound to begin
It's got to happen, happen sometime
    Maybe this time I'll win

Finding myself making every possible mistake

Finding trust and love is not always easy to make

    La, la, la, la

    Cause you don't understand
    Everything you have done
    Why's everything so wrong

    This is a happy end
Come and give me your hand
    I'll take you far away

    I'm a new soul

    I never understood before
I never knew what love was for
My heart was broke, my head was sore
    What a feeling

    Tied up in ancient history
    I didnt believe in destiny
I look up you're standing next to me
    What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
    Love burns brighter than sunshine
    Brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
    Suddenly you're mine
    And it's brighter than sunshine

    I never saw it happening
I'd given up and given in
I just couldn't take the hurt again
    What a feeling

I didn't have the strength to fight
    Suddenly you seemed so right
    Me and you
    What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
    Love burns brighter than sunshine
    It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
    Suddenly you're mine

    It's brighter than the sun
    It's brighter than the sun
It's brighter than the sun, sun, shine.

    Love will remain a mystery
But give me your hand and you will see
Your heart is keeping time with me

What a feeling in my soul
    Love burns brighter than sunshine
    It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care

  68. Recipes snagged from Robsten Angels, where I also hang loose:

    Oneheart's Favorite Chicken Pot Pie
    Makes (1) 9-inch pie

    3 celery stalks
    3 medium carrots, peeled
    1 large yellow onion
    1/2 stick of butter
    1/2 cup frozen peas
2 cups cooked chicken (I use a deli rotisserie chicken)pick the meat off into small shredded pieces.
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
    1 chicken bouillon cube
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp. kosher salt or a little more depending on your taste
Black Pepper ever how much you want to put, it depends on your taste
(Pie crust made from scratch or use Bisquick to make a dough)

In a Dutch oven or large kettle melt butter, add onion, carrots, peas, and celery. Saute for a couple of minutes. Add the shredded chicken and stir. Sprinkle the flour evenly over the mixture and stir gently to combine for a couple of minutes.

Pour in the chicken broth stirring constantly, stir in the bouillon cube, the flour will combine with all of this and form a gravy. Pour in the heavy cream and stir. Cook over low heat for about 4 to 5 minutes allowing it to thicken gradually. Season with the thyme, salt and pepper testing for your desired taste. Remove from heat.

Pour into a small casserole dish or deep pie pan. Cover with pie crust and bake for 30 minutes at 425.

    Pie Crust recipe
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 cups vegetable shortening (solid)
    1/2 of egg mixture
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cold water
    1/2 tsp distilled white vinegar

Combine the flour and salt, add the shortening using a pastry cutter and cut until it resembles pebbles (3 to 4 minutes), lightly beat egg, add in the cold water and vinegar, stir until it is all combined. place in a large plastic bag but do not seal and slightly flatten with a rolling pin. Then put over the casserole dish or deep pie pan that has the chicken mixture in it. Cut small slits in it. Then seal around the edge and bake for 30 minutes at 425 or until pie crust is lightly brown.

I use Bisquick and make my dough, I find it is easier and it still taste great either way.

It's a little extra work to make this but it is a favorite at our house. Enjoy!!!

Sure, take a shower, don't be sweaty for nothing less than things you love to do, right?

But sitting there just being sweaty? Then a shower is a must.

I could join you on this end, but I am rather cool right now, and a hot shower would make more sense but not for me, at this momemto.

Am getting excited to make coffee when I wake up later today, and then just at the right time for cocktails, I'll have a Bloody Mary in celebration of being one day closer to 235 years of independence from our parents.

Monday the 4th, our true holiday, will be something really special, when I figure out, what celebrating that will be.

While you are showering, I took a look at your blogger profile and saw that you and I read the same romance authors! That would be:

Johanna Lindsey, Jude Deveraux & Stephanie Laurens

Top of the line, all of the way, those three authors, going way back for me. Historical and Regency romances are my favorites.

Guess that's why I love the Twilight Saga, for you get historical in the vampire characters backstories, along with a romance based on those old style moral values (Edward). (Sigh)

It must have been the way

All that I can say is its getting so much clearer
Nothing made sense until the time I saw your face
    Today was a fairytale

    Oh beautiful, for heroes proved,
    In liberating strife,
Who more than self, our country loved,
    And mercy more than life,

America, America, may God thy gold refine,
    Till all success be nobleness
    And every gain devined.

(And you know when I was in school,
We used to sing it something like this, listen here:)

    Oh beautiful, for spacious skies,
    For amber waves of grain,
    For purple mountain majesties,
    Above the fruited plain,

But now wait a minute, I'm talking about
    America, sweet America,
You know, God done shed his grace on thee,
He crowned thy good, yes he did, in a brotherhood,
    From sea to shining sea.

You know, I wish I had somebody to help me sing this
(America, America, God shed his grace on thee)
America, I love you America, you see,

My God he done shed his grace on thee,
And you oughta love him for it,
Cause he, he, he, he, crowned thy good,
He told me he would, with brotherhood,

    At the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes & bright stars
Tthrough the perilous fight, oh Lord
    Oh, the fight

    O'er the ramparts we watched
    Were so gallantly, yeah streaming
    And the rockets red glare
    The bombs bursting in air

    Gave proof
    Through the night
    That our flag
    Was still there

    Oh, say

    Mariah Carey:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELVsfU2rDiQ

    Trembling
    Starry eyed
As you put your hand in mine...

    It was twilight
    On the Fourth of July
    Sparkling colors were
    Strewn across the sky

    And we sat close enough
    That we just barely touched
    While roman candles
Went soaring above us and baby

Then you put your hand in mine
    And we wandered away
    I was trembling inside
    But I wanted to stay

Pressed against you there and leave the world behind
    On that Fourth of July

    So starry eyed
    On the flowery hillside
    Breathless and fervid
    Amid the dandelions

    As it swept over me
Like the wind through the trees
I felt you sigh with a
    Sweet intensity and baby

Then you put your hand in mine
    And we floated away
    Delicately lay entwined
    In an intimate daze

A crescent moon began to shine
    And I wanted to stay
Tangled up with you among the fireflies
    On that Fourth of July

    Thunder clouds
    Hung around
    So threateningly
    Ominously hovering

    And the sky
    Opened wide
    Showering

Then you put your hand in mine
And we ran from the rain
    Tentatively kissed goodnight
    And went our separate ways

And I've never truly felt the way that I
    Felt that Fourth of July

Truly I have never felt the same inside
    Like that Fourth of July
Truly I could never feel the same as I
    Felt that Fourth of July

  95. You're A Grand Old Flag

James Cagney (Yankee Doodle Dandy movie)-1942:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7mEC-vAewg

    There's a feeling comes a-stealing,
And it sets my brain a-reeling,
When I listen to the music of a military band.

    Every tune like "Yankee Doodle"
Simply sets me off my noodle,
It's that patriotic something that no one can understand.
    ---------------
"Way down south, in the land of cotton,"
    Melody untiring,
    Its so inspiring.
    ---------------
Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll join the jubilee!
And that's going some, for the Yankees, by gum!
Red, white and blue, I am for you!
Honest, you're a grand old flag!
    ---------------
    You're a grand old flag,
    You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
    ---------------
    You're the emblem of
    The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
    ---------------
    Ev'ry heart beats true
    Under Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
    ---------------
But should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
    -------------------
    Rally 'round the flag,
Let us rally 'round the flag.....

We took the Red from the flame of dawn, the dawn of a new nation.

And the White was the white of the snow at Valley Forge.

The Blue was the blue of the free open sky.

And the stars were the thirteen sisters by the sea who built their home, and called it Liberty.

    To symbolize our spirit --
    Right!
    The spirit of freedom --
    Right again!

    The spirit that gave birth
    To American democracy
    That's the spirit!

    My country tis of thee,
    Sweet land of Liberty,
    Of thee we sing...

    You're a grand old flag,
    You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.

    You're the emblem of
    The land I love.

Give me your tired, your poor
    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free;
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me-
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

    Mother of Exiles
    From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

We don't have no plastic L.A. friends,
Ain't on the edge of no popular trend.
Ain't never seen the inside of that magazine GQ.

We don't care if you 're a lawyer
    Or a Texas oil man
    Or some waitress busting ass
    In some liquor stand

    If you got soul
We hang out with people just like you

    My hair's turning white,
    My neck's always been red,
    My collar's still blue,
    We've always been here
Just trying to sing the truth to you.

    Guess you could say
    We've always been,
    Red, White, and Blue Oh

Ride our own bikes To Sturgis
    We pay our own dues,
    Smoking camels, drinking domestic brews

You want to know where I have been
    Just look at my hands
Yeah, I've driven by the White House,
    Spent some time in jail.
Momma cried but she still wouldn't pay my bail.

    I ain't been no angel,
But even God, he understands. Yeah
    My hair's turning white,
    My neck's always been red,
    My collar's still blue,

    We've always been here
Just trying to sing the truth to you.
    Guess you could say
    We've always been,
    Red, White, and Blue
    Yeah that's right!

My Daddy worked hard, and so have I,
Paid our taxes and gave our lives
    To serve this great country
So what are they complaining about
Yeah we love our families, we love our kids

You know it is love that makes us all so rich
    That's where were at,
If they don't like it they can just
    get the hell out
    Yeah!

    You know... You know...
    Red, White, and Blue. Yeah
    Oh..oh....Red, White, and Blue

    Thank you/s955163

I am up to watch my daughter and many other young family members run our Summerfest 5K. Mind you I said watch, a runner I am not.
    Super,
Did your husband need an I&D for his infection? I hope he is home and able to take oral AB's.
To all you ladies getting to chill at the beach, I am soooo jealous! I hope all you vacationers are enjoying your trips.
Have a fabulous Fourth Roselanders,Rose, and the Roseland Trio! Have fun watching or making fireworks!

    Happy 4th of July!

Beaculen- Thanks for the link to the flag cake, it looks yummy :)

Super- I hope your husband is feeling better.

Birdie- Best of luck to your daughter in the 5K.

DK- Thanks for all the patriotic songs. We have much to celebrate and be thankful for. If you run into Tom during all the celebrations today, don't fangirl too much....well, maybe just a little bit ;)

Have a safe and fun day everyone.. Lots of love :)

  110. Happy 4th July to everyone in US.

Super - I hope your husband is OK

Birdie - Yes, I'd be watching too!

30 - Of course, it's BS, the usual crap that comes out every time they're working in separate locations. We still have pregnant/engaged/married/bought various new houses, to get through before the end of the summer.

  112. Hi all,

Just stopping in to say hello and to wish everyone in the States a wonderful July 4th. I hope you enjoy it with family and friends.

DK - you sounded a bit melancholy the other evening. I hope everything is looking brighter now. Thanks for the call out to Canucks in your earlier comment. Speaking as one, I'm thankful for the friendships formed here with everyone.

Super - I hope your husband's knee is on the mend and that he isn't in any discomfort.

30 - nice to see you drop in. Great job with the artwork.

IB - take a deep breath. Good luck with your MIL's visit.

sjjw - enjoy your extra day of vacation at the beach. Sounds absolutely terrible. Haha.

Hope and Annie - thanks for the good wishes for my visit with my parents. I'm home now, but had a great time seeing them. I hope you both have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Linda - I hope you are well despite your crazy work schedule. I'm glad you enjoyed a well earned break at the U2 concert.

To Rose and all the other regulars (Birdie, PL, Angelica, Liza, dottie, Groovie, Kenzz, Rhonda, Olivia, Kay, Katy, Melinda, Fio, Robert, Barbara F, Gwen, Bren, MySoCalledLife, Sydney, beaculen, wania, Tigerlily, Smitty, Syd, Gruff, Suebee, jentoo, Manjen) and everyone else in Roseland that I may have missed (newbie or absent friend), all the best.

Super...how is your hubby today? Better?

Rose...hope you are enjoying your mini break away from it all. Miss you.

Olivia...we are having fireworks here...how about you? You mentioned the ban, but we saw some last night and will again tonight.

  115. Good morning everybody! :)

Wow, that website must be desperate to post anything from Famous magazine as truth.
Wasn't that the same magazine that said Rob was pregnant?

That website and others, along with some fools on Twitter and Tumblir really need to read what both Rob and Kristen have said about their feelings on relationships, cheating and commitment. It would save them from the embarrassment of posting rag mags as truth and idiot comments and meltdowns on places like Twitter!

    @Professor Wales....The marinade was brilliant.
I used it for both chicken and steak with mouth-watering results.

  118. Happy 4th of July to Rose and all Roselanders who celebrate this day!

Rose, hope your vacay is going well and that the weather is holding up in your part of the woods.

No use looking at the weather forecast in this area......pretty much 100 each day with just a miniscule chance of a shower. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Linda, so glad you got to attend that fabulous U2 concert! You certainly deserved a great night out after all the overtime you've been working. Have you been enjoying The Game of Thrones? Do you recommend it? I am still working through The Fall of Giants ( am about a third of the way through it) and am loving it. It is historical fiction and so far has been dealing with the beginning of WWI and how it is affecting the lives of a huge cast of characters.

Super, hope your husband is on the mend and stays healthy. Take care, it is always hard worrying about your loved ones. Will he attend the last shuttle launch? Give that beautiful grandchild a big from all of us at Roseland.

DK, thank you for the wonderful, patriotic concert last night. I feel bad that I am not a night owl.....would love to stay up to chat with you but I tend to stay on a "school schedule" all the time, even in the summer. Up early and to bed fairly early. Sorry! I do hope that the moving goes well. Packing is my least favorite thing to do. It takes me forever to decide what to toss and what to keep. Wishing you a wonderful new place to live and an easy move with lots of help! I think Syd should volunteer, or at least bring the pizza and beer for the rest breaks.

By the way, can't imagine both you and Linda with darker hair. Both of you are so fair in your pics.

Hi Hope, **waves** for you up in the big D.
There will be a big laser show tonight at the GB Sr. Museum along with fun and games for the kids and a concert by the local symphony orchestra. Always a big event in this town. I think the fires to the south of us near Plantersville (home of the Tx. Renaissance Festival) and to the west along I 45, have helped people to respect the burn bans in the various surrounding counties. Am glad that y'all have not had it so bad and have gotten to enjoy the real fireworks for this 4th!

Freddie, you are so fortunate to be able to make these visits to see your folks. Good to see you are back home safe and sound.

Dottie, kept meaning to tell you that I am glad your boys are traveling together and having a great, safe and enjoyable road trip. It is hard being home and worrying about them but sounds like they are doing well. These are the kinds of adventures they will enjoy reflecting back on as they grow older. I also echo the "Thank goodness for technology!" It is so wonderful to get a quick " All is AOK" message to help you sleep well at night.

sjjw, have a wonderful last day at the beach. May you have a safe and uneventful drive home to home, sweet home.

Groovie, I have never been to a rodeo. They always seem so scary to me. All I can think of is everyone needing some sort of urgent chiropractic care after participating in many of the events. Whereabouts in Tx. have you been visiting?

Have a lovely Monday everyone. Have to work just 4 hours this early afternoon, then off to enjoy the evening.
Hugs for y'all. Hugs for Smitty, Gruff and Syd too!
Life is good. Be a believer.

Annie...I really want a hot dog today! I am fixing Hamburgers for lunch but I saw an earlier post about a Sonic Hot Dog, so I might head over there and pick up a few for later!

Hubby had a bad day yesterday and yes Birdie to your question. Thank you ALL for your concern..Hopefully he will be much better as the week progresses because he is heading down to Florida to see the last space shuttle flight dead or alive!

I have just finished watching a hand load of videos on Robsessed...not realizing that some of them obviously contained more leaked footage..I am so sorry because I know that is upsetting for the actors...I really could not enjoy it and stopped the video when I realized... LOVED Rob with the stuff all over his face from Cosmopolis footage! He looks good no matter what! hahaha

And if I cannot see you anymore
Why did God make me love you
    To make me suffer more

You were always the reason for my existence
To adore you was a religion for me

And in your kisses I used to find
    The heat that gave me
    The love and the passion

This is the story of a love
    Like there is no other
    That made me understand
All the good and all the evil

  146. Good Morning Everyone! Hope you all had a safe 4th!

Saw the pictures of Kristen at the airport...all smiley and happy!!! So where's the positive press?? They always want to jump all over the scowls and unhappy looks, of which there hasn't been any, but they are so quick to overlook how happy and beautiful she is looking. Kristen has also been very gracious while they have been hounding her and following her all over LA. Just proves how they spin things and what an awful bunch they are!!

OK, I dodged a bullet, MIL's trip is cancelled...her husband has a bad knee infection and can't travel. I swear I wasn't hoping for the cancellation bc of injury...now I have a guilty conscience (well a little).

Super~How is your hubby doing?...knee infections must be going around!

    Melinda~Happy Birthday!

Annie~I see the city is going to be a scorcher...stay cool!

Kenzz~Do you have a date for the Cape?
    I forget!

DK~When we have time, I have a doozy of a hair color story to tell you!

Be well and have a great day!

  147. IB - I don't know if congratulations are appropriate but I avoid my MIL like the plague, she's a challenge :)

  148. IB- Don't feel bad, you're off the hook for now, and the injury wasn't your fault :)

  154. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! You all are wonderful people! Glad for this little place in cyberspace.

Dottie- I'm with you on having a chat fest soon. Name the time and place! :)

IB- I guess you were expecting a not so welcome visit from the MIL. Injury aside glad you don't have to deal with her this time. :)

So for those that have been following the Casey Anthony case, what are your thoughts??

This has been going on in my backyard pretty much. I'm stunned and very saddened because this little girl is no longer alive and no one will pay for it!

I will say that if I were her or any of her family I would be moving ASAP. Too many people know where they live.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Hi everyone:)
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
@ Melinda: The Casey Anthony case is somewhat in all headlines in the Us but I´m from portugal and the only thing I really saw was that she has been absolved... But she killed her daughter, right? Sorry for asking

  156. Hi all,

I hope everyone has recovered from the holiday celebrations (or just regular weekend celebrations).

    Melinda - I hope I didn't miss you.

    Happy birthday to you.
    Happy birthday to you.
    Happy birthday, dear Melinda.
Happy birthday to you. (Imagine your favourite singer singing this to you).

    Stay well all.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Oh and IB - glad you dodged the bullet (so to speak). My mother's counsel was that once married you should move as far away from both families as possible. LOL.

    Kenzz - safe travels.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Hi Freddie- Did you have a nice vacation?

Melinda- I haven't really followed the trial but I must admit I was shocked by the verdict.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Freddie-

Thanks! Also glad you made it home safe and sound. Sounds like you had a good time! How did Tomas do traveling? Did he come along?

    JustMe-

Yes she killed her child. I firmly believe it as do many others. Sadly she didn't really want to be a mother any longer. There were too many things to make this a cut and dried case (very much like OJ Simpson). I hope this makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Melinda...have you had a fun birthday??
As far as Casey Anthony...I cannot believe she was found not guilty after ONLY 11 hours of deliberation!!!

How does a mom NOT KNOW where her daughter is for a month and not report it??!!(rolls eyes)
I could not let 5 minutes pass if my daughter was missing especially at 2 years of age. UNBELIEVABLE!!

    Hi Freddie and Rhonda

    ReplyDelete
  161. Hi Rhonda and Melinda - I hope you are both well and enjoyed your long weekend.

I had a good time with my family, thanks for asking. My mom and I always manage to take on some projects. This time it was new carpets, rearranging furniture, some paint touch-ups. We didn't get to the re-tiling as originally planned. We managed to get some shopping in, which is fun with my mom, because she never talks me out of buying anything.

Yes, Tomas made the trip with me. He's actually getting to be a good traveler. He didn't howl for the usual 30 - 40 minutes. He would however, occasionally yell out, startling the h*ll out of me - which is never a good thing when driving. But the trips there and back were uneventful, in a good way.

How did you both celebrate the 4th?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Hi Hope - I hope you are well. Did you have a good July 4th weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  163. Freddie - My dogs have to be sedated for car journeys. One howls all the way and the other tries to chase the other traffic through the windscreen

    ReplyDelete
  164. Freddie....Yes we had so much fun!! Went to a few cookouts with friends and fireworks too. Laid out by our pool too because it is bloody hot here!
Read your comments about your trip and Tomas. lol...We have a bichon and she can barely ride in the car to the groomer without having the shakes.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Oh Angelica - for the driver that must be more than a bit of problem, but that would make an incredibly funny home video.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Oops - typo - "more than a bit of a problem".

Hope - so glad you had a good time. Olivia mentioned 100 degree heat. Has it been that hot for you too? If so, the pool sounds like the only place to be. Animals are so funny. Some love the car. Others hate it. I guess hugs are needed to calm the shakes.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Hope-

She didn't report it because she knew where she was the whole time! Just pisses me off. Here is something that not all media outlets have talked about.

When Casey was in jail some remains were found in a park (the same park that she said took Caylee to etc). When she was told about it, she had NO emotion whatsoever.

Now fast forward to when she was told that Caylee's remains were found right down the road from her parent's house. She reacted with nervousness, she had a panic attack, etc.

Strange reaction if you aren't guilty of anything. I'm not sure why the state didn't bring that in as evidence. Maybe they weren't allowed.

All in all- it just sad because this child was born to a woman who didn't want to mother her. And now her life is gone.

And I am having a great day. Thanks for asking!

    Freddie-

Shopping is always fun! Sometimes it's nice to be spoiled or spoil yourself every once in a while.

I spent the 4th with friends and fam. We had a bbque, played games, and then went to watch fireworks. Went to see "The Hangover 2" afterwards. Fun day.

Is Canada Day the same thing as our 4th? Forgive me for not knowing what it is. Also how is the country surviving the royal visit??

    ReplyDelete
  168. Melinda - yes, Canada Day is essentially our July 4th. It's our birthday celebration and people spend it with friends and families, enjoy BBQ's, go to cottages and watch fireworks. Some go and celebrate in the nations capital where they put on a big show. I think it's pretty much what you guys do.

This year it was even a bigger show, since William and Kate attended. They have been the talk of the town. They have been fabulous, winning over even the most skeptical anti-monarchists. They have been very gratious, have taken an incredible amount of time to talk to people and really listen to them. They spent time with kids in a homeless shelter and lots of time with war vets/elderly. Everyone has Wills & Kate fever here.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Melinda...Exactly!! She should have been found guilty on one of the lesser charges of manslaughter or child abuse at least.

Freddie...it has been at least 100 every day for a week.
Let me add I have Kate and William fever too. They are a beautiful couple to watch and I love how he talks about her as his WIFE in his speeches. Were they anywhere near you??

    Guess I should fix dinner...lol

    ReplyDelete
  170. Melinda,

I am still in shock over that verdict. It will be interesting to hear what the members of the jury have to say about their reasoning. The fact that she didn't report that baby missing for a month is enough for me! Not only that, wasn't she out partying during that time?

On a much happier note, I hope your bday has been fun.

Hey to the rest of you fun people!

  171. Hi Roseland! We made it home safe and sound! Thank you all for your safe travel wishes. As someone said, the power of Roseland is indeed strong!

  172. Hope - William and Kate were actually in Montreal on Saturday afternoon when I was there, but I didn't make it downtown to see them. They have definitely put a new, young, fresh face on the monarchy. We even saw a little bit of PDA after they competed in a dragon boat race. Very cute. They've captivated the world like another couple I know....

Hi dottie - how's the second honeymoon going? LOL

sjjw - glad you made it home safely.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Hi SJJW and ALL Roselanders...I just think it is tragic beyond beilief that Casey Anthony was found not guilty due to lack of "overwhelming" evidence....I guess its similar to the OJ Simpson trial in that he got off because "the glove" did not fit"so you must acquit"..remembering his lawyer saying that. But you see that OJ is serving time for "another" crime...so I guess we will see what happens to Casey Anthony. she may be in jail eventually because, like OJ, she may be under the misapprehension that if she can get away with murder she can get away with anything...we shall see....sigh....

    ReplyDelete
  174. FREDDIE...I am reading a book called William and Kate...I am so impressed with both of them. I think William wants and values a real marriage..he saw the devastation that his mother suffered...he wants better for himself and his wife and future children....Good for him! Kate is a lucky woman!

    ReplyDelete
  175. Evening everyone! Just popping in to say hello and to wish you all a belated happy 4th. It sounds like everyone had fun - as did I. In fact, I'm still recovering from a full weekend of gut-busting BBQ and sunshine.

To Melinda - Happy birthday to you!

To those traveling on vacation - safe travels and enjoy that downtime.

Freddie - I have to admit that I'm completely charmed by Will & Kate too. I always loved Diana and I think she'd be proud of how Will turned out. You can tell those two fancy each other and it's just so cute to watch.

I agree with all the comments on the Casey Anthony case. I'm frustrated that justice won't be served here. It was her daughter? How do you let someone like that go?! She's clearly a sociopath - the whole thing is disturbing on so many levels.

Super - sorry about your husband. I hope he mends quickly.

IB - Enjoy your MIL-less week and shake any of that guilt. You just got your week back!

DK - you are so lovely. Thanks always for providing the soundtrack to Roseland.

Hi to everyone else I've not mentioned. I've enjoyed all your comments...

    ReplyDelete
  176. FREDDIE, I'm sorry I had to post and run earlier.

About my "honeymoon"... I'll just tell you that we are having a good time in this empty nest. But I'm sure we will be ready for those boys to come home when the time comes... well I know I will be! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  177. Rose...I miss you...but I know you are a free time and you are wise and smart girl only waiting and enjoying this time...

    DK, enjoy july 4th?

    Hugs for all Roseland

  178. Happy new day, All!

I've been running around today and just got home.

The last thing I did while out, was see "The Bridesmaids" and had lots of laughs. What brilliant writing, about female relationships that was, in that movie!

Maybe, I'll be quiet, and rest early, so I can be chipper later today.

    @Wania
Yes, the 4th was good. I am ever awed by young children, and their delight in fireworks. What would we do without such a joyful noise?

  179. Like OJ Simpson, now I get it! So she killed her child and gets to be free?
Sometimes I can´t understand the "justice"...And this child never had the chance...
Thank you for clearing my doubt.
    Hugs to all

  180. Good Morning Roseland!

Freddie- Sorry I didn't respond back yesterday. I had to go out for a bit and missed you.

My July 4th was great, thanks for asking. I spent it with lots of family, food, and fireworks. What did you do for Canada Day? I bet it was exciting with William & Kate there during the holiday. Count me among those who find them very charming.

Hope- Wow, you need a cool down soon. Is it always that hot during the Summer?

Sjjw- I'm glad you made it back home safely.

MSCL- Sounds like you had a fun weekend too :)

Have a great day everyone. Lots of love :)

  181. Good Morning All!!!

Hi Rhonda...it sounds like you had a nice 4th!
Yes, it is always hot here in the summer. Unfortunately, the 100+ degree heat started earlier than normal. There is no end in sight according to our weatherman...well, maybe a cool down to 98 on Friday. lol
Hope you have a great day!
