You Get What You Need.

It's been pretty calm on the Rob/Kristen front...
It's been kinda nice...hasn't it?
Oh sure...
A perfume here
A charity there
Here a lunch
There a workout..
Everywhere a car ride.

Snippets of their lives.

So there hasn't been much to say...
Life is good.
In fact...
Life is GREAT.

This poem by e.e. cummings
is one of my favorites...
And to me
it is Rob and Kristen.

i carry your heart with me
by e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go, my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

                                                        i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)

Final thoughts...

1. Seeing someone working out at a gym...
or going out to lunch with friends
is a couple of hours in the day.
Where do you think they are the rest of the time?
Who do you think they are with??

2. Hummingbirds
Sometimes you don't even know they are there...
Quick. Quiet.
But they are.
Oh.
They are.

3. I love this clip.
LOVE.
IT.

Rob and Kristen.
Do I really need to say more?
No.

Rob and Kristen.
That's enough.

4. I ADORE Tom Sturridge.
I miss him.

Blimps.
Battleships.

5. I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes
 you just might find
You get what you need.

Until next time.

Bye for now

Love is sweet. Love is Long.

  7. Rose this poem is perfect. Thank you for this beautiful post. I agree Life is great.

Love the comparison of the Hummingbird.

•Hummingbirds can flash their bright colors, as well as hide them when needed."

They truly are in control and that's why it is so nice to see them because they come and go so quickly it makes seeing them so much more special. A lot like Rob and Kristen.

Hope all of you here at Roseland and those lurking, are having a wonderful Sunday. Stay safe and stay warm...the weather here today reminds me of the song, Baby, it's cold outside.

I think I'll go read the poem again..E.E. Cummings had such a gift with words.

  12. Love the poem….need to "take it with me". I lost a dear friend today and needed something sweet like that to "hold" me. I love R/K and their love for each other…..what a wonderful post Thank-you was hoping for one today.

  13. I'm very happy that we haven't seen much of R and/or K, they deserve some peace. I bet they found a way to fool the paps. Ninjas. May the odds be ever in their favor (I know that was lame--forgive me. I've just seen Catching Fire. It's awesome and I can't get it out of my head).

    @Rose
Very sweet poem. Thank you for sharing.

  14. There's something special about this post that words can not explain. All I know is that the pix and clips are so perfect. That Eclipse clip from Jimmy Kimmel is so addictive, just can't get enough of it. How wonderful it is to see that even in their private lives (all though invaded by papz) they hold hands how endearing is that.
Btw, can TS eyes be anymore memorizing, my God I wonder if he knows those eyes are like weapons. Considering how much both Rob and Kristen love to read, they probably have this in their collection or maybe even by the nightstand. "Love is Long"
    Thank you Rose

    Love Walked In

    Ella Fitzgerald:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKL04xPXARE

    Love walked right in
    And drove the shadows away
    Love walked right in
    And brought my sunniest day

    One magic moment
And my heart seemed to know
    That love said hello
Though not a word was spoken

    One look
    And I'd forgot
    The gloom of the past

    One look
And I had found my future
    At last

One look, and I had found
    A world completely new
    When love walked in
    With you

  16. Times to remember

    When October Goes

    Rosemary Clooney:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gzLQZ0PHes

    And when October goes
    The snow begins to fly
    Above the smokey roofs
I watch the planes go by

    The children running home
    Beneath a twilight sky
Oh, for the fun of them
When I was one of them

    And when October goes
    The same old dream appears
And you are in my arms
    To share the happy years

    I turn my head away
    To hide the helpless tears
Oh how I hate to see October go

I should be over it now
    I know
    It doesn't matter much
    How old I grow
I hate to see October go

    Will You Remember Me?

    Michael Feinstein:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8FUHNcNFIo

    Now that I am starting
    I cannot deny
I'd prefer a see you later
    To a mere goodbye

    But before departing
    Do I hope in vain?
    Something makes me wonder whether
    You'll forget me altogether
    If we never meet again

    When I go my way
    Along some highway
    Will you remember me?
    When you are lonesome
    I'd like to own some
    Place in your memory

    I know that
    You'll play a part
In my heart when I start
    That's something
    I can guarantee

    But when I stray off
    Somewhere a way off
    Will you
    Remember me?

    If I thought
    You'd not forget
    That we'd met
    You can bet
    A very flattered man
    I'd be

    But when I stray off
    Somewhere
    A way off
    Will you remember me?

    Thanks to/AwaTu

I had a really stressful morning with interviews, etc. and then I opened up your post. Words can't adequately describe my admiration for your ability to write such really wonderful posts. There are no words eloquent enough to describe your post today. Have you ever thought of writing a book? I'm serious.

  33. Hello Roseland! Long time no visit/read/respond. I have missed you all, and Rose's way with words.

I do love me some e.e. cummings. I love exploring his Modernistic word manipulations with my students, and LOVE watching them interpret his meanings (and who knows what he means but the poet himself?).

I needed to read your post today.

I'm on Thanksgiving break, and lovin' every minute of it!

  34. Dear Rose, your post was charming and sweet. I am watching a French movie-Coco before Chanel which explains quite a bit about Chanel sleek lines in design. When viewing a scene with only Rob and Kristen , somehow you see the beauty of their relationship, it is a solid quantity that is very smooth and lovely to the eye. I do not think this is by design, I think it is very natural, just as Coco wanted her fashion to be natural and very lovely to the eye. Thank you for the e. e. Cummings.

    Baby here I am
I'm the man on the scene
I can give you what you want
But you gotta' come home with me

I have got some good old lovin'
And I got some more in store
When I get through throwin' it on you
You gotta' come back for more

Boys and things that come by the dozen
That ain't nothin' but drugstore lovin'
Hey little thing let me light your candle
'Cause mama I'm sure hard to handle, now,
    Gets around

    Action speaks louder than words
And I'm a man of great experience
I know you've got another man
But I can love you better than him

Take my hand don't be afraid
I'm gonna prove every word I say
    I'm advertising love for free
So you can place your ad with me

Boys come along a dime by the dozen
That ain't nothing but ten cent lovin'
Hey little thing let me light your candle
'Cause mama I'm sure hard to handle, now,
    Gets around

A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening

    Frank Sinatra:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRh4rmqLXtU

Some like a night at the movies, Some like a dance or a show
Some are content with an evening Spent home by the radio

Some like to live for the moment Some like to just reminisce
But whenever I have an evening to spend
Just give me one like this

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
    Can't think of anything
    I'd rather do

    This is a lovely way
    To spend an evening
    Can't think of anyone
    As lovely as you

A casual stroll through a garden
A kiss by a lazy lagoon
    Humming a favorite tune

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights
    And spend them with you

    Comin' home baby, now
(You know I'm waitin' here for you)
I'm comin' home now, ree-al soon
    (You've been gone)

    Comin' home baby, now
(You don't know what I'm goin' through)
    I'm comin' home I know I'm overdue
(Since you went away - how I feel, too)
S'pect me any day, now real soon (soon)

    I'm comin' home
    (Come on home)
    Comin' home baby, now
(You know I'm prayin' every night)
That everything is gonna be fine
    (Please come home)

    Comin' home baby, now
(I want to feel you hold me tight)
'C'pect to see me now, anytime
(When I'm in your arms - I'm all right )
When you're in my arms - I'll be fine

    I'm comin' home
    (Come on home)
    I'm comin' home, baby now
    (You know I'm counting everyday)
    I'm comin' home now, yeah-yeah-yeah!
    (Use the phone)

    I'm comin' home, baby now
(And baby let me hear you say)
I'm comin' home, you're hearin' what I say
(That you're comin' home - I will lay awake)
And I never will go away
    I'm comin' home!

    (Come on home)
    I'm comin' home, baby now
(You know I'm waitin' at the door)
They can't hold me back now, no-oh-oh more
    (I'm alone)

    I'm pressin' on, baby now
(And pacing up and down the floor)
Oh hear me holler and hear me roar
    (Say you'll be with me)
Gonna be with you ever more (ever more)
    I'm comin' home

    (Come on home)
    I'm comin' home, baby now
(Oh baby, say you're comin' home)
    That's what I say, I say I'm comin' home
    (Something's wrong)
The road is long, baby now
(You ought to either write or phone)

I'm comin' home and never more to roam
(Baby, tell me you're - comin' home)
Baby, I'm for sure - comin' home
    I'm comin' home

  61. Thanksgiving Song

    Mary Chapin Carpenter:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NSQLMPUK-8

Grateful for each hand we hold
    Gathered round this table
From far and near we travel home
    Blessed that we are able

    Grateful for this sheltered place
    With light in every window
Saying "Welcome, welcome, share this feast
    Come in away from sorrow."

    Father, mother, daughter, son
    Neighbor, friend and friendless
All together everyone in the gift
    Of loving-kindness

    Grateful for what's understood
    And all that is forgiven
We try so hard to be good
To lead a life worth living

    Father, mother, daughter, son
    Neighbor, friend, and friendless
    All together everyone
    Let grateful days be endless

    Grateful for each hand
    We hold
    Gathered round this table

Glad you are feeling better. As for being ignored, folks would have to be here ignoring, and they're not. Most peeps are off living their own lives, not ignoring anyone, I believe. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
    Goodnight. Celebrate!

I really love the snippet of RK on the television show where he uses his knee to remind K he is there for her and she calms down This is really a beautiful sight. I really feel we have no idea of the depth of their feelings for each other. Good example of a sweet couple.

Thinking of you all for we have begun the end of 2013 big celebrations, at last.

Hugs for Rose, Rob, Kristen, Tom, Smitty, Gruff, Syd and all! Perhaps, back later.

  102. Dear Sue Morris
Reading the new blogs on Rose's post. What is the "sad mess" and "Everyne say big prayers for Kristen and Rob." Did something new happen? I do pray for them everyday and thought things were gong well. But I did notice that Kristen was not with Rob apparently on Thanksgiving.

  104. Super- Pizza, Lasagna and/or pasta stuff is Italian. Sounds like we are both having Italian night. Its cool.

  105. The "sad mess" are the people who can't keep from going from blog to blog, site to site, Twitter and other social media, talking about pap pics and other people's personal lives. If people truely wanted to help they would just "shut the fuck up" and let them live their lives and focus on the movies and what awesome actors they are...and stop giving the paps a paycheck by always searching and discussing "the who, what, when and where" of their personal lives.

The only people you are supporting are the tabloids/paparazzi when you continue to discuss their private lives and the pictures taken by paparazzi.

  120. Hi Olivia :)) I saw ur post to me the other day n been meaning to share this w u someone gave it to me as a present n I'm hooked on his poems

    Pablo Neruda
    SI TÚ ME OLVIDAS
    QUIERO que sepas
    una cosa.

    Tú sabes cómo es esto:
    si miro
la luna de cristal, la rama roja
del lento otoño en mi ventana,
    si toco
    junto al fuego
    la impalpable ceniza
o el arrugado cuerpo de la leña,
    todo me lleva a ti,
como si todo lo que existe,
    aromas, luz, metales,
    fueran pequeños barcos que navegan
hacia las islas tuyas que me aguardan.

    Ahora bien,
si poco a poco dejas de quererme
dejaré de quererte poco a poco.

    Si de pronto
    me olvidas
    no me busques,
    que ya te habré olvidado.

    Si consideras largo y loco
    el viento de banderas
    que pasa por mi vida
    y te decides
    a dejarme a la orilla
del corazón en que tengo raíces,
    piensa
    que en ese día,
    a esa hora
    levantaré los brazos
    y saldrán mis raíces
    a buscar otra tierra.

  121. Querida Emma,

¡Mil gracias! Bellísimo, bellísimo. A mí, también. Lo usaré en clase. Las palabras y sentimientos de Neruda son increíbles. He usado antes con mis estudiantes varios de sus odas.

Ya me voy. Un abrazo fuerte.
