Couple of Thoughts...

Couple of thoughts.

1. Rob showed his face after a LONG drought.
The face is good.
The face is always good.
I missed that face.
I love that face.

2. I find myself disgusted... once again...
by the actions of some of the fandom.
My disgust is multi-layered...

A. Someone had their house burn down.
I don't know this person.
I don't know anything about this person.
But I have read that she lost everything...
including some beloved pets.
My first reaction?
Sadness.
Heartbreak.
I feel for them.
I wish I could do something to help them.
It doesn't matter if we agree or not
on issues within this fandom.
That is insignificant to what this person is going through.
Yet...
How did others react?
With glee?
With malice?
I don't get it.
I really don't.
Above all else...
Are we not all human beings?
Does someone's opinion make them
deserving of such horrific heartbreak?
Absolutely not.
Please stop this madness.
Stop making this bullshit drama
PERSONAL.
It's not.
THIS is all just a distraction.
What this person...
who has lost everything...
is REAL life.
Help her.
Even if its only a kind word or two.

B. One of the things I despise almost as much as those who
attack people on a personal level...
Are those that cast people in generalities...
That paint people with the same brush.
I know some people would call me a 'sheep'
just because I believe that Rob and Kristen are together.
But I follow no one.
No one leads me anywhere.
I make up my own mind.
And do NOT lump me in with people
who would attack someone who has just lost
all their worldly possessions in a fire.

Realize that when I use the term "Hyena"
it is to a relatively small group of people...
(And I've never named names)
and they reside on BOTH sides of this fandom.
It is applied to people who relish in the attack
who swoop in when someone is down...
and bite and kick when someone is most vulnerable.
Hyenas make it personal.

Most of the people I come across in this 'world'
are good people.
They enjoy Robert and/or Kristen
They enjoy a giggle... or some good snarky sarcasm.
But they don't enjoy pain and seeing people hurt.
Real people.
Real pain.

ANY Personal attack is disgusting.
No matter who...
No matter what.
It doesn't matter what side of this fandom you are on.

This post is brought to you by the letter *T*

T for Thoughts and Prayers
I'm sure someone out there could use them.

  3. I agree loved seeing his face (wish we could have seen Kristen too!)
That is sad about the person who lost everything...no one ever deserves that. It has to be the most humbling and catatrophic expereince for anyone.
It is doubly sad that people are saying she deserved it! I don't even try and understand the evil that seems to have consumed this world and fandom.

  4. Oh wow. That is awful. I hadn't heard about that. How anyone can be smug or gleeful about something like that is horrifying. I remember thinking the same thing when a group of people were saying it was karma that someone had lost their father. How can anyone be so callous towards another human being?

I don't know who it is, and it certainly doesn't matter. Thoughts and prayers are with them.

  6. Short & to the point!
Its a shame that some need reminders like this.
Rejoicing over someone else's tragedy, regardless of who they are or what they have done, doesn't make you a better person; it makes you a vile person.

I think its good to step back now & then and get some perspective & today's post was all about that. We can only hope that those that need this message the most actually let it sink in.

Everyone have a wonderful day! I'm off to lunch in a bit.

  7. Or did one of us "sheep" laugh at someone who's house burned down?

Either way, do we know who the person is, or if they need help with anything???

    ReplyDelete
  8. How awful, Rose....thoughts and prayers are going out to this poor person. What is with people and the loss of human kindness and compassion? How incredibly sad that there are those that find glee in the suffering of others.

Take care out there, Roselanders...be safe.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Dixie- I'm not exactly sure who's who and who's to blame...but I think as you said it doesn't matter. The point needs to be taken that things have been taken way to far. And instead of pushing someone who is already down we need to offer them a hand friend or foe.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Such a sad thing to have happen. It doesn't matter which "side" this person represents. She needs support, not ridicule.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well God Bless whoever is it. Very said, I can not imagine...
My home means so much to me, plus I have a cat myself.:(

  12. Oh and I was so surprised to see pix of Rob on set, I could have sworn that he had stolen the invisibility cloak from HP cuz he & his girl are stealthy as hell!
He is looking as good as ever, I'm really liking his hair in BD

  13. Rose is there anything we can do for this person? My father-in-law died a year ago today in a fire and my grandmother lost everything she had including beloved pets, 10 years ago. I know how devastating that can be..if there's anyway I can help, from prayers to a donation, Please e-mail me and let me know. Regardless of who this person is, they don't deserve to be attacked at a moment like this. No matter who they are they deserve our prayers and good thoughts.

  15. AMEN ROSE my prayers go out to the family. Some people dont know what they have until they lose it. My hart gos out for them. DEB.

  16. Oh my...the pictures of the destruction. That is just awful. Thanks for posting the link Rose. I would be happy to make a donation.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks for the link to help Rose!

I think losing your home in a fire is one of the most awful things that could happen to someone. Its incredibly sad.
I don't know if anyone here has ever witnessed a house fire, but I did in my neighborhood this past summer. Truly one of the scariest things I have ever seen, its horrible.

  18. Who could be so twisted as to rejoice over someone else's misfortune?

Some of us may be shielded by screen names but we aren't just characters who live inside a computer!

    We are all real people.

Who would have the gall and animosity to kick someone when he/she is down?

    That just makes me sick.

What can we do to help this person who has suffered such a monumental loss?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have too say, anyone with human feelings and "what if I was in there shoes mentality" SHOULD feel terrible for this person that lost everything. Just as everyone with FEELINGS should feel bad when someone loses there Dad added to that being humiliated online, or bulling. Rose, you are one of a kind. And truer words above have never been spoken.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Rose,

You my friend are a CLASS ACT!

I couldn't agree with you more. I find it baffling how some people tend to lose their sense of compassion, decency, humanity and perspective over all of this. Laughing and celebrating at the tragedy of others all because they chose one side of the fence. Absolutely heartbreaking!

My thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted. Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh and by the way, Edward is looking mighty yummy in that pic above! I see a wedding ring. :))

    ReplyDelete
  22. I feel very sorry for the family, their loss and what they are going through.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Squeeeee! I just LOVE how that gold wedding band looks on Rob's finger!

    ReplyDelete
  24. How can anyone with a shred of decency act this way when another fellow human being has lost everything??!! There is NO excuse and it is disgusting.

Goodness will prevail. After looking at the photos and reading some posts on that site, it is good to know that many are reaching out to help this family.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes "I" we do! :)) That is one lucky ring isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Rose,

I'm so terribly sorry to hear about the fire. I'm sure it is devastating. I hope the person involved hasn't been exposed to the disgusting gloating of a pathetic few. Thanks for posting the link.

Angelica – I'm sorry to hear about the prospect of surgery and a long recovery time. I’m sure that is a depressing thought for someone who sounds to be as active as you are. Take care in the interim and keep us posted.

Hi IB, Kami, Sydney, Kay, Penny, Susan, 30, Hope, dottie, Addicted, Dixie Ann, Groovie, deb, Brewski and anyone I may have missed. Hope you have a good day. I’m out for a bit to pick up supplies in advance of the storm.

    http://rachel-online.org/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=21115&fullsize=1

Here ya go Rose! A new snap of Tom.:))

And, this popped up on my twitter, I am not a stalker I swear. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. Awww, Rose, that story is so heartbreaking...I simply cannot fathom the consciousness of those who swoop in at times like these to kick someone when they're down.

It makes me wonder if the anonymity of the internet has contributed to a lack of ability to connect with one's fellow man.

I think back to 9/11 (almost a decade ago!), and how, at least for awhile, people, no matter their political, religious, or ethnic affiliations, came together to support each other. God forbid something on that grand a scale ever happened again, but I wonder if the empathy/acceptance towards others would be different now.

Sorry for the heavy, But Rose's post made me sad and disappointed...

However, I'm glad you brought it to our attention, Rose. Sometimes people need a shovelful of "perspective" slammed up against the side of their heads!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi, Rose!

What is happening to this world..have people lost all compassion??? how is it possible that these people are happy that this family is suffering....NO ONE deserves this...they need help...not being attacked.

Really awful what has happen to them...losing everything in such way and the thought that they lost their pets too...how incredibly sad...just horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

  31. Hi Hope - it sounds like you had a nice day hunkering down with the family. I used to love snow days off school when I was a kid. They were always fun. We used to make snow forts in the front yard (maybe not a smart thing in retrospect).

I'm well. The storm is "supposed" to hit us overnight and into the rush hour traffic tomorrow. Some of the schools here have cancelled school on the risk of the storm. I guess they need to let parents know in advance to make plans for their kids. After the big build up, I bet the whole thing just fizzles.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Freddie-
I for one am hoping that his whole storm just fizzles! Fingers crossed.
Hope everyone esle in the middle of this stays safe and warm!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Addicted - agreed. I too hope everyone stays safe and well.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bravo Rose! I didn't know people reacted that way...I read about it on Thinkingofrob.com and followed the link for support.

I had no idea people responded negatively to such a tragic situation...karma is a bitch!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm praying for this fan. For the hyenas-"Never look down on anybody unless you're helping him up." Jesse Jackson

  36. Hi everyone. Back from a mini vacay. It was fun but exhausting. Hope all are well.

Anywoo...sad that something like this has happened. The way some people have reacted appalls me. This fandom (for stupid and petty reasons) has reduced these people to being insensitive sometimes. This situation has certainly showed that. I really don't have anything more to say about it.

Glad to see Rob pop up all Edwardlike. I'm sure they are going to be crazy busy wrapping things up in BR soon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Freddie,

I feel your pain my friend. It's been snowing off and on by me since Monday night, and the worst is yet to come. The wind has been pretty strong today so it's making things pretty hard to see and the snow drifts are anywhere from 4-8ft high! We've had close to a foot of snow already and they are saying we could get another 20-24inches between tonight and tomorrow. I think I need a drink! LOL

To all my cyber friends dealing with inclement weather, BE SAFE! Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Stuck inside. Watched kid movies all day--alllll day.

    Calgon or Baileys?

    Both?

    ReplyDelete
  39. What a tragedy for this family. I can not imagine losing all your possesions, family mementos and most of all your pets.
Another tragedy, the callousness of people over someone else's pain.

    Kenzz,
I so agree with you about the loss of human connection. Technology can be an amazing thing. The internet can bring people together, look at the empowerment of the Egyptian people. Read the support and kindness triggered from Rose's blog today.
It can also allow people to lose inhibitions because of the anonymity. How many of these people would say these things in person? None. Whether it is relishing someone's misfortune or attacking Rose, Rob, or Kristen; they are only as brave as their anonymity. It allows them to be mean-spirited and cruel. Somewhere in their sad, little worlds, this makes them feel empowered. I am sure their bravado would disappear if they had to step out from behind their computers. Very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It's the kind of day where we all need a laugh..this has nothing to do with Rob or Kristen but it's funny as hell...and any married woman here will see here husband in this routine.

  41. Wow Brewski - you are definitely feeling more pain that we are. What part of the US are you from?

Hey Melinda - how was Disney? Did your nieces enjoy it?

    Hi Birdie and Kenzz.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Freddie

I'm from the Great Lakes area-specifically Southeastern Wisconsin. Go Pack! LOL We're in that same weatherbelt that's pounding Chgo right now! I think that's part of our problem good old Lake Michigan!

    Where are you located?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rose~

I loved seeing the pics of Rob...the wedding ring looks very nice on him!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who lost everything in the fire...nobody deserves anything like that happening to them. Thanks for the link, Rose. You truly are an awesome person :)

Well, last night we had an ice storm and school was canceled today. We're supposed to get more ice and snow on top of that tonight. To those of you who are in the middle of this mess, please stay safe and warm!

    Have a great night everyone!!

    ~Lynn

  44. Angelica~Sorry to hear about your back pain. My husband had a buldging disc. He needed steroid shots into his spine then he had physical therapy to strenghthen his back. It was very painful for him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Brewski - I'm outside of Toronto - so we get Lake Ontario as one of our weather makers. I thought Canada was supposed to get all the snow, but you guys are taking a bigger hit than we are. I might be singing a different song tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Brewski- You must be closer to the lake then with all that lake effect snow I am from Southeast WI to but about and hour west of the lake.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Kami,

    That was brilliant.

Let's take a poll, how many of you trust your husband with a shopping list?

I tell him which aisle, if it's on the left or right, top or bottom, what color the label is and I still get the wrong thing.

I once told him any kind of bread but wheat. Guess what kind he brought home?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I can send my hubby to the store for only two things and a list and he will come back with just one thing and it wrong. If I need it urgently and it has to be right I just go myself (now!)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hello Roseland..Just went to the website for Strictly Rob..never been to it before...That is such a shame..they are thanking people for their donations...hopefully Shannon will receive enough help to get her through this very difficult time...something we all hope we will never be faced with..I always say, you NEVER know what a day will bring..be thankful
for every good day you have...

KAMI..I watched the vid..that was a great comic relief.

Hope everyone is surviving the weather and I will be listening out for awhile...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Freddie & Addicted to Robsten,

Actually I am pretty close to the Lake. Right now the problem is the wind. We've got 40+mph winds causing the snow to blow and drift. They are saying the worst is yet to come tonight. To be honest, I'm not so worried about the snow because we know how to handle snow here, especially in January/February, I'm just hoping we don't lose power because then we'll lose heat!

Freddie, Here's hoping you miss this junk!

Addicted to Robsten, good to talk to a fellow Wisconsinite! Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Half-way Bill is not too good at the market either. Always gets the wrong thing.

    ReplyDelete
  52. PL..I can tell you right now..my husband the cheapskate..yes, I love him but THAT is what he is..always buys the "smallest" of EVERYTHING...He would NEVER do that...I hate sending him to the grocery store for anything because of that AND/OR he will buy the wrong thing ENTIRELY..

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi IB - how are you?

Hey Super - hope you are feeling better after the weekend. Did you get in your quota of movies?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Penny, I love my husband dearly but he too is "Left Brained" and he did something a lot like that once...let's just say it's been a good 10 years since I had to buy any cocoa lol.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Super!
Greetings from the Great White North! The igloo continues to be warm and cozy. Boy do those sled dogs eat a lot!

We are going to build an igloo addition because we have had even more snow! 6 more inches earlier today and 22-30 inches coming over night....yes 22-30 inches!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Freddie~How was the advetising world today?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I just went to let STFU back in and the snow has begun.

    Kami,

Why do men think that because it says 2 for $$ that they have to buy 2? You still get the sale price if you only buy 1.

    ReplyDelete
  58. PL~I think I will borrow your STFU name for my cat who does the pillow dance on my head at 6:00AM on weekend mornings.

Other than the shopping, how is hub? Are you both feeling better? Did the Vit. D help?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hi IB - you'll have to buy snowshoes and a snowmobile with the amount of snow you are expecting.

Work is interesting. A long time colleague of mine was just re-structured out of the organization today, so I'm feeling a little bummed. I'm going to miss him. Can I come and teach with you (not that I'm remotely qualified....). At least you are doing something that actually matters.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Kami, great comic relief!
My favorite birthday card was a man standing in front of a refrigerator filled with nothing but butter, asking "Honey, where is the butter?" This goes for kids, too.
    Freddie,
I just finished the last of my shoveling. I hope you are not doing the same tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  61. IB,
I am loving your tales of the Great White North!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Birdie, I haven't had to shovel yet as we only had a little bit of light snow this morning. We're supposed to start getting it over night, so I expect I'll be out shovel in hand, up to my knees in snow tomorrow.

Has it finished where you are or are you expecting more?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Believe,

Hubs is almost recovered. I still have a cough, but no more sore throat. Still hoping for the husky voice instead of the child voice I have.

    Thanks for asking.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Snowshoes? Got um! Hubby is even going to teach me how to run the snowblower...should be good:)

    Hi Birdie!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Birdie: that's so true- my hubby seems to think the refridgerator (& pantry) is only 6 inches deep!! "It's BEHIND the milk!"

    I think it's a guy thing...

Kami: I was unable to view the vid on youtube...it just kept trying to load...will give it a shot later.

HI Freddie, angelica, IB, PL, Kami, Birdie, Super, Brewski, Lynn, Addicted, and probably a few I missed...

6 inches today, another 8 tomorrow...who's building igloos here on Roseland? I need one ASAP...

my verif word is sanchayi...wasn't he a contestant on American Idol?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. PL~You wishing for a husky voice is so funny because I walked around for a week talking with what I call my Peppermint Patty voice. lol

    ReplyDelete
  67. Freddie,
I think we are done and I am probably the only crazy person who feels sad about that. I like to cross-country ski,so hope to get out tomorrow and enjoy the fresh snow.
IB, you are braver than me. I'll stick to the shovel. I'd like to try snowshoes. Let me know if you like them.

    ReplyDelete
  68. IB - snowblower...wow I'm impressed. This won't be like the husband teaching the wife to drive will it?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Believe,

Really, you don't use the snowblower? I do that and I don't even pump gas.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Birdie:
No one would ever describe me as athletically inclined, but I love to snowshoe...great exercise, and very little coordination required!

I'm getting cool verif words tonite...this is is "menmist"...oooo, somebody spray me! hehe

    ReplyDelete
  71. Penny - like I said to IB, I'm impressed about the snowblower because I find them a bit intimidating. I'm not a big fan of things that can slice and dice if I'm not careful.

    ReplyDelete
  72. "I" and the rest of you snow bunnies it sounds like you all are getting what we got the day after XMas this year. Let me tell you what HELL that was, 4 feet snow drifts.. ahhh I feel your pain! Trust me.

Stay safe all! We lucked out it seems this time, all rain. Cold rain, but rain.My x just called from Florida hes doing his music tour thing. He of course had too inform me how it's 70degrees and sunny out there. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  73. OK, I should probably qualify my snowblower comment. I used our old snowblower. We bought a new bigger one last year and I haven't used that one yet.

My complaint is you get full of snow from the blower if the wind is blowing at all. I prefer not to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. 30: This winter, that's just plain cruel to call you with that info...no wonder he's your x!lol

    ReplyDelete
  75. Freddie,
I'm with you on that one. No power tools for me.
    Kenzz,
Little coordination needed? I am all over that. I am leery of doing hills (only small ones). I can't afford to break anything.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well, PL, I do pump gas. I mow the lawn in the summer but hubby has always been the King of the Snowblower! After our last snowday, all he did was complain about how he had to come home and snowblow. So, I volunteered to learn.

As far as the snowshoes go, they look a lot more fun than they are. They take a lot of energy and work.

    ReplyDelete
  77. IB and Kenzz,
You should try the skiing. It is a great workout, but you cover territory alot faster.

    ReplyDelete
  78. 30~I love the term "snow bunnies", so cute!

Anyways, National Grid, our power provider, is trucking in all kinds of back up vehicles. If I blink out for a day or two it will mean we have a power outage in Upstate New York.

    ReplyDelete
  79. FREDDIE..Yes I DID get enough movie watching over the weekend! lol Im really sorry to hear about your friend at work..that is distresing. Did he kind of see it coming or was it a total shock?

IB and KENZZ..OMG!!! Stay warm..I literally cant even conceive of that much snow! When you get that much snow, does it weigh down the power lines? or is it such a fine powder that it doesnt knock trees down either??? I guess maybe if there is alot of wind then you do get power outages.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think we all could use a little distraction. Let's imagine beautiful blue skies, nice warm temps, a nice sandy beach, good music playing, with a yummy umbrella drink in our hands. Ahh good times!

    Who's got the blender? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hi Super...are you back on your feet? I loved reading about all the movies in your marathon!

They're predicting a ton of ice tomorrow, with plenty of power outages...I'm looking forward to the LOCUSTS descending soon...

spring is coming, spring is coming, chant & repeat...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Super - thanks. I think my friend was surprised. He's a workaholic and has spent a lot of time traveling for work, so I don't think he's going to know what to do with himself now. And I suspect his wife will be looking to knock him off in no time, now that he's going to be home more.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Kenzz - I'm chanting along with you. Sunshine and an umbrella drink would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Kenzz, Yea that's one(insensitive) and many other reasons! LOL

    WF: artlog

    WTF

    ReplyDelete
  85. Aahhh Brewski, you're singing my song!

I'm packing up my Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville maker as we speak...I think Rhonda and I were looking for someone to put us up in a warm climate...you're welcome to join us!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ah, yes, tomorrow is Groundhog's Day....what is everyone's prediction? Will Phil see his shadow?

    ReplyDelete
  87. IB:
They're gonna have to dig Phil out first!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Kenzz,

That is true or maybe Phil already bugged out to a warmer climate and they won't find him at all.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Ah Kenzz I'm IN!!! LOL Thanks for the invitation my friend! Margaritaville sounds like paradise and a little bit of heaven on earth right now!

You know, I've been known to do a little wastin away again in Margaritaville before! LOL I'll bring the rum. IMO You can never go wrong with a little Vodka, Whiskey, or Rum. LOL Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  90. They've just cancelled school for tomorrow for the kiddos AGAIN! I'm considering getting drunk and sleeping in...yeah for me!

Reached a new low...a bunny is currently residing on my snowswept deck...how did it get there? Where does it retreat to when my dogs are let out? Evidently, another one of the mysteries of the Universe, I guess...

Skipping out for awhile...safe and happy nights to you all!

    ReplyDelete
  91. That is just awful and my heart goes out to that person. When I was a child, we lost everything in a house fire and it was very devastating. I cannot imagine anyone being gleeful over someone's tragedy.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I just got a snowday call too. This will be our fourth. I sent my second graders home with a "Snowday Packet" for them to complete. Needless to say, they were not pleased with me.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Brewski:

Sounds like a plan!! I'll even bring a few limew from my lime tree if I can keep it alive this winter!

Ooooh, Runaways just started...my husband said "I heard this was a really good movie. You want to watch it?" Is this a trick question... Hell, yeah!

    Goodnite (for now) Roseland...

  94. KENZZ..LOL..Unless Phil is "coming out" in Florida, I dont think he will see his shadow, he will be buried alive in snow and ice! What are you going to do if you lose power? Do you have a generator or something? I am recovering fine..thanks for asking.

FREDDIE...I will be thinking about your friend and hope he finds some new work soon.

BIRDIE...Be careful...You are right..being that you have the responsiblity of tending to your father, now would NOT be a good time to get hurt. A friend of mine fell in her home on a slick spot on the floor. She broke her leg in 2 places and was out of work for 9 months! It doesnt take a second to have a terrible accident.

  95. Im heading out early too, guys...got to be to work by 6:15 am. I guess we wore the troll out last night..heh...I dont know why they bother to come here. They should know by now we will beat them to a pulp. Kudos again to GRUFF..although when he says FU, it ALMOST sounds too nice..such a sweetie pie!

  97. Goodnite Freddie... stay well..

Super: no generator...fireplace, and of course the car if things get desperate! Of course, there are all numbers of hotels in our area...might make for a nice difference... :) Sooo glad to hear you're on the mend...I'll be sending good thoughts your way (along with the other members of our walking wounded!)

Nite one & all if I don't have the chance to swing by later...and so far, the Runaways is realy amazing and I'm trying to be objective!)

Did someone say Margaritaville? Now, we are talking. Party at my house.

I'm in, as long as you bring the drinks, Kenzz bring the blender, DK has the music under control, and I can provide the blue skies and warmer climate (California).

  99. Rose,

My heart is breaking over this family who has lost everything. I am also sickened to the core that anyone would rejoice in such a tragedy. I have experienced first hand this kind of devastation and I know how helpless they must feel.

Thank you for posting the link. We will help :)

    Hello Everyone :)

  100. Good evening, Everyone!

Hope you all are warm and safe.

If I don't lose power, I'll be back later to post songs, and chat.

  101. Thanks for the link Rose. And thanks for bringing this to our attention. If nothing else we can send them our good thoughts and prayers.

It's unbelievable that people would be anything less than sympathetic for someone who has gone through such a tragic event. I have to believe that the good, sane people outnumber the bad. Otherwise I would really get depressed!

  102. Rose, thanks for the post and the link. I hope more people hear about this tragedy and help the family.

Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE6WABOMvUo&feature=fvsr

    What are you changing?
Who do you think you're changing?
    You can't change things
We're all stuck in our ways

It's like trying to clean the ocean
What do you think, you can drain it?
Well, it was poison and dry
    Long before you came

But you can wake up younger under the knife
You can wake up sounder if you get analyzed
    And I'd better wake up
There but for the grace of God go I

It's hard to believe your prophets
When they're asking you to change things
With their suspect lives, we look the other way

Are you really that pure, sir?
Thought I saw you in Vegas
It was not pretty, but she was (not your wife)

But she will wake up wealthy
And you will wake up forty-five
And she will wake up with baby
There but for the grace of God go I

    What am I fighting for?
The cops are at my front door
    I can't escape that way
    The windows are in flames

And what's that on your ankle?
You say they're not coming for you
But house arrest is really just the same (just the same)

Like when you wake up behind the bar
Trying to remember where you are
Having crushed all the pretty things
There but for the grace of God go I

    But I still believe
And I will rise up with fists
And I will take what's mine
There but for the grace of God go I

Oh, now when you think the time's are bad
    Take a look around
'Cause babies are dying from disease
    Sleeping out on the ground

If you've ever seen the tortured eyes
    From a foreign land. No
When you see somebody who's down and out
    Lend a helpin' hand

You better, lend a helpin' hand. If you can
    Lend a helpin' hand
    Do it if you can

Oh, every time you feed your face
    Do you bow your head
Hunger kills each and every day
    Won't you share your bread

If you've ever felt the pain inside
    I know you'd understand
When you see somebody who's down and out

    Lend a helpin' hand
You better, lend a helpin' hand. If you can
    Lend a helpin' hand
    Wont ya please

Oh, every time you feed that face
    Do you look around
For somebody right in your own neighborhood
    Sleepin out on the ground

If you've ever felt the pain inside
    I know you'd understand
When you see somebody who's down and out

    Lend a helpin' hand
Why don't you, lend a helpin' hand. If you can

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_284Y8Wu7c&feature=related

You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
    And you're miles and miles
    From your nice warm bed

You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
Yeah, you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me
If you've got troubles, I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you

We stick together and can see it through
Cause you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

    Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
    Bigger and stronger too

    Maybe
But none of them will ever love you
The way I do, it's me and you

Boy, and as the years go by
    Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me

    Hey Bulldog

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WBelmO65J4

    Sheepdog
    Standing in the rain

    Bullfrog
    Doing it again

Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
What makes you think you're something special when you smile

    Childlike, no one understands
    Jacknife in your sweaty hands

Some kind of innocence is measured out in years.
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears

You can talk to me, if you’re lonely you can talk to me

    Big man
    Walking in the park
    Whigwam
    Frightened of the dark

Some kind of solitude is measured out in you
You think you know me but you haven't got a clue

    You can talk to me,
    You can talk to me,

    If you’re lonely
    You can talk to me

    Hey, bulldog

    Hey Jude

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfTrthOpKCA

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

    Hey Jude, don't be afraid.
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better.

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.

For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.

Hey Jude, don't let me down.
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,
You're waiting for someone to perform with.
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do,
The movement you need is on your shoulder.

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin,

Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh.
Naaa na na nananana, nanananaaa hey Jude...

    Hold Me Tight

    Beatles:

It feels so right now, hold me tight,
Tell me I'm the only one,
    And then I might,
    Never be the lonely one.

So hold me tight, to-night, to-night,
    It's you,
    You you you - oo-oo - oo-oo.

    Hold me tight,
Let me go on loving you,
    To-night to-night,
    Making love to only you,

So hold me tight, to-night, to-night,
    It's you,
    You you you - oo-oo - oo-oo.

Don't know what it means to hold you tight,
Being here alone tonight with you,
It feels so right now, feels so right now.

    Hold me tight,
Tell me I'm the only one,
    And then I might,
    Never be the only one,

    Honey Don’t

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbLUoHyNXK8

Well how can you say you will when you won't,
Say you do, baby, when you don’t?

Tell the truth now, is love real?

But oh well honey don't, well honey don't,
    Honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won’t, oh honey, don’t.

Well I love you, baby, and you ought to know
I like the way you wear your clothes,

Everything about you is so doggone sweet,
You got that sand all over your feet.

Oh, rock on George, one time for me.]
    [I feel fine.]
    [I'm sad.]

Well sometimes I love you on a Saturday night,
Sunday morning you don't look right.
You've been out painting the town,
    uh baby, been stepping around.

[Oh, rock on George, for Ringo one time.]

But oh well honey don't, well honey don't,
    Honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
I say you will when you won’t, oh honey, don’t.

    Honey Pie

    Beatles:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKpJPxU3mvQ

    She was a working girl
    North of England way
Now she's hit the big time
    In the U.S.A.
And if she could only hear me
    This is what I'd say.

Honey pie you are making me crazy
I'm in love but I'm lazy
So won't you please come home.

Oh honey pie my position is tragic
Come and show me the magic
    of your Hollywood song.

You became a legend of the silver screen
And now the thought of meeting you
Makes me weak in the knee.

Oh honey pie you are driving me frantic
    Sail across the Atlantic
    To be where you belong.

Will the wind that blew her boat
    Across the sea
Kindly send her sailing back to me.

Honey pie you are making me crazy
I'm in love but I'm lazy
So won't you please come home.

    Thank you/55gma

  119. I missed Hey Jude because the East/ Midwest storms decided to give the West Coast a little taste in the form of 60+mph winds that knocked the power out for awhile. The temps has dropped too. But, I’m still feeling all warm and fuzzy because The Beatles Songology lives on. I’m doing the moonwalk across my room, double back flips, and a waving a lighter in the air for Hey Jude. “Naaa na na nananana, nanananaaa hey Jude....” Thanks DK, I hope you are still doing alright with the storm in your neck of the woods. My parents on the east coast are getting freezing rain now. This storm is a beast. Stay safe and warm everyone!

  121. Thank you Rose for the post and link about the fire tragedy. Am sending thoughts and prayers their way.

Bren, sorry to hear you and your family are ill with the flu. May you have a speedy recovery.

Angelica, you are also in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a successful resolution to your back problems. Sounds like you have been and continue to be quite the trooper.

Kami, thank you for the vid of Jeanne Robertson's "Don't send a man to the grocery store." Oh my goodness, that was so very funny. I had never heard of her before. I listened to a few other of her stories, and she is highlarious. I needed a smile on my face at the moment, and you provided the perfect pathway. : )

Have just checked in on the Weather Channel. Only 19 degrees here, dry and clear, but still quite breezy. There is a prediction of snow for Thursday evening and Friday morning. In central Texas, even half an inch may require a Snow Day, or at least a several hour delay in school start time. (Unbelievable but true.) Here's hoping we may receive one!

Know someone who is supposed to fly out of O'Hare very early Thursday morning. Am wishing them luck getting out.

A great many of you are still in line for a variety of Old Man Winter's gifts. Hope everyone is able to stay safe, sound and warm.

Hugs to y'all. I am off to work.

Rose thank you for providing the link to help the victims of the fire. People are idiots if they don't recognize a true tragedy. It doesn't matter what sides you are on. Compassion for your fellow man is part of being human. (makes you wonder if some have lost their humanity)

Bren Hope you and your family get well soon.

DK Glad to see the storm didn't slow you down.

Get to start work late as FedEx shut down the Indy hub. Everyone have a good day and stay warm.

FREDDIE- We had a blast at Disney. Tired but happy and that's all that matters. Thanks for asking.

ANGELICA- Sorry to hear about possible back surgery for you. That sucks. I guess the positive thing out of it would be hopefully no more back pain? Is that right?

OLIVIA- I hope you had a great birthday last week!

Since we are traveling down memory lane with the Beatles it is making me more excited to go to Vegas this spring. I have been wanting to get out there for a few years now and see Love: A Tribute to the Beatles. I'm finally making the time to do it. The music is fabulous because it is a great mixture of their more popular and less known songs. I'm super excited to go.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. To those dealing with pesky weather hope you stay safe and warm.

Other than not being able to see the top of the fence in my backyard in someplaces because of snowdrifts, and having to shovel snow out of the driveway this morning so Heith could head to the airport to fly to Canada, which will be a tiny bit warmer today than here...we made it through our first really bad Midwestern Storm.
