Rob and Kristen- Forever Smitten

I wonder if there is a way to find out just how many times
I have used this picture on my blog.
I bet it's a scary number.
A scary high number.
Because this is (obviously) one of my favorite pictures
of Robert and Kristen.
To me...
This picture is the epitome of their relationship.
Closeness.
Intimacy.
Rob's HUGE smile on his face
(and you can tell Kristen is smiling too)
The fact that Rob showed up... again
On Kristen's set to see her.
Yep.
Rob looks completely and utterly SMITTEN with her.
He always does.

ANYWAY.

Whats going on around the ol' fandom cooler?
Not much.
The water is pretty damn low at this point.
People are parched.

Although...

We did get to see Rob on the set of THE ROVER.
(I picked the walking pic... of course.)
His hair is super short.
He's all grimy and gritty
and sweaty and dirty
and ...
well.. hell
This ALL looks good on Rob!
Reminiscent of Water For Elephants... Right?
One of his all time awesome looks.
Sure...
Some people were complaining about his hair
like hello?
It's hair.
IT WILL GROW BACK.
And if you have followed Robert for any length of time
You know how quickly that man grows hair.
So...
No worries.
Besides...
I kinda dig the short hair.
Oh yeah... I still am nostalgic for the unruly
slightly greasy, wild hair days of early Twilight.

Nice jacket. Heh.

But I have to wonder if we will ever see that again.
I'm thinking... no.
Rob is more polished and shiny these days.
And even if he's not...
He covers his hair with a hat most times.

What else...
Hmmm.

Ah.

The Rob/Kristen fans on Twitter are
doing a #28DaysofRKLove
It's a nice, sweet way to get through a drought.
So what does the Lunatic Fringe do?
Well...
Needless to say
since they have zero imagination
and zero originality
(They are the ones who stay pressed
with PR excuses after all)
They have to 'copy' what is being done
and twist it in their usual vile way.

Of course... that is ALL they do.
Hate. Jealousy. Bitterness. Anger.
Rule their world.
IS their world.

Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery?
It just shows how closely the Fringe
watch everything their 'opposition' does.

Again...
On one side
It's sunny and bright and full of hope and promise.
There are laughs and sweet memories
And anticipation of all the good things to come.

On the Fringe side?
Darkness.
Hatred.
Hopelessness.
Bitterness.
And constant...
Never ending
Anger.

Isn't it great to be on the GOOD side?
The Happy side?
Yes.
Yes it is.

Oh look. Rob with the director and producer.

Another nugget of bullshit that is going around
is that Rob left EARLY for Australia
just to get away from Kristen
and so he could party and check out the pubs.
Really?
Rob was seen with both the producer and director
of the movie he is currently working on
*Key word... WORKING*
He was seen with people he is working on The Rover with.
He obviously went there for pre-production
Unless the director, producer and the rest of the crew
all wanted to escape and party too!
The most amusing part of the whole lie
was first Rob went there a week early...
and now it's worked up to 3 weeks!
Cling on.
Cling on.

Oh and lets not forget the whole mystery blonde
bullshit cling that surfaces just about every other day.
You all know the recent blonde (admittedly attractive) fan
who had her picture taken with Rob
and then kinda intimated that not only she had dinner
with him... but that he appeared 'stoned'?
Yeah. Her.
Well.
Of course there was the usual uproar.
This chick was lucky enough to have her picture taken with Rob
And she shared it with the masses and got her 5 minutes of fame.
But honestly... sometimes people just don't know when
to leave things be.
She eventually recanted the whole 'stoned' scenario
saying she was just having a laugh
and even tweeting at Ryan Seacreast
"Thank you for putting everything straight with
Robert Pattinson. Sat near him after dinner.
Nothing in it. Made me laugh."

So yeah folks...
She then proceeded to post a pic of flowers
with the cryptic tweet of
"I can't believe he sent these"
followed by
"Not saying!"
when asked if they were from Rob...
I'm sure Rob would send flowers to a girl
he probably doesn't even know her name...
AND said he was stoned...
Yep.
Sounds like legit reasons to send flowers!

That is someone who is clearly enjoying the attention.
Even though she admitted more than once
that it was nothing more than a fan picture.
See how easy it is to rile up this fandom?
Do you hear that?
That's the alarm clock.
Her 15 minutes are up.

Bring on the next mystery blonde/girlfriend.
You know she's out there somewhere.
Waiting.
Plotting.
Refusing to be banished to the shadows any longer!
She wants to claim what is hers!
Next!

Someone sent this to me.
I don't know who made it...
But whoever you are
I fucking ADORE you.

*edit*
@UnpaidPrivEye is the creator of this beautiful collection...
Many thanks for sharing!

These pictures trump all other pictures.
No matter how intrusive they are.
(Sorry Rob and Kristen.)
These pics more than rival the Cannes pics...
Although those still rank at the top because
there is actual video of the whole thing.
(excuse me while I swoon a bit.)
OK. Better.
Why Rose... why do these pictures surpass all others?
I will tell you why.
Because they were taken
AFTER.
Yep.
And lookie what we have here.
Hugging. Kissing (although that pic isn't included.. wait...)

There.
Where was I?
Right.
After.
Still kissing.
Still hugging.
Still having the biggest fucking smitten smile
on his face when he looks at her.

And that my friends...
is what is called coming full circle.
A never-ending circle.

Rob and Kristen.
Always end up...
TOGETHER.

Which brings me to the final cling of the week.

The whole drama surrounding whether Kristen
shows up in Australia or not.

Honestly... does ANYONE know where Kristen is
right this very minute??
Nope.
Guesses. Speculations.
But no solid evidence of her being...
Anywhere.

Personally...
As much as I miss her beautiful face
I'm loving that she is living her live undetected.
I'm sure she is loving it too.

This post is brought to you by
Planes

and by my complete adoration
of Thomas Sturridge.

Until next time.

Bye for now

There is something I would like to clear up right now, simply for the fact that someone took it upon themselves to send me a snotty email about this, which is kind of disconcerting since I removed my email address several weeks ago and I've never even seen this person's name before...but moving on.

I want to clear this up. I NEVER once accused Ginger of calling a bitch the comments I made about how I didn't think Kristen was a bitch was because Ginger posted this: "I actually find fans that bug them while eating dinner or stalking them to be as intrusive if not more - he is just too nice and will take the picture while Kristen is a bitch for setting boundaries and not doing it". I was AGREEING with her that fans shouldn't automatically assume those things by saying how I viewed Kristen.

This is to the person who sent me the email only. You don't know me, You have no idea what I think nor the kind of person I truly am. I don't care what your take on this entire situation is, I don't care what you think about me. I will continue to state my thoughts and opinions and if you don't like that Misstwisted...TOUGH. Do not contact me again.

So I hope we all are clear on the events. I was talking in reference to Wonderfulbliss saying "We needed" to see pictures, I then voiced my opinions. The ONLY person I even remotely got snarky with was Ginger by saying what I did about finding fault with everything I say. I have killed no one, I have committed no sin and I would strongly suggest that this subject involving me is dropped.

I agree totally. Rob and Kristen feel the same about their careers and personal lives. I can remember the first time I seen them at Comic Con and then thereafter. The have very much the same mannerisms. Hands in their hair; shy; looking at each other and looking away due to their emotions for each other. They were like the statement written by Stephanie Meyer for Bella's mother when Bella visits her mother:

"You move. He moves. You're like magnets."

Life imitating art.

tufenuf55 said...

So sorry someone was so rude to you. That is downright bullying and I do not support anyone and anything to do with bullying. Too bad this person didn't post it on this blog. Those who agree with me would give that person more than a piece of our minds.

Kami said...

Tuff thanks, but cowards never opperate in the light of day, they opperate under the cover of darkness. I've never heard of this person before and have no clue how they got my email. Their name was Mistwisted. Ok I'm done giving them any kind of attention.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Kami - we just see things differently and there is nothing wrong with that. Different opinions and all, nothing life changing about it.

@ Kami
Sorry for your disrespectful emailer.

Did you see were MarIlyn Manson passed out while singing Beautiful People during show in Canada, man he's had some bad luck lately, this after having to have his ear sowed back on after a fight during his tour with Rob Zombie. The sadder part is no one realized at first he'd even passed out.

Maybe now we might hear some news on Focus soon, I hope it hasn't been delayed or postponed.

DreamerKind - no wonder you’re tired; you spent the night as the pixie of poetry & music for us. On my lunch hr I’m going to watch the links. The words to River of Dreams are so beautiful!

Annie – well said! There are so many conflicting “sources” it’s hilarious.

Robert – dude thanks for the explanation! Very, very interesting. Yes, the girl is a true beauty. It makes sense that men would like her. What with Bella, Snow White & some of those amazing photo shoots, there’s a lot there to appreciate. There’s a guy at my work who was in one of those hater categories, but I’m winning him over to our side. He was just listening to gossip and didn’t really know much. Don’t say you’re not a stud! I’m going to think of you that way from now on! J

Ginger – Oooo sounds like you have mysterious sources, I like it! Always love your little tidbits of information.

Tufe & Ginger – you guys are so right about breaking the mold with Rob & Kristen. They’re amazing. I love it that they are so into acting, and having a real life, instead of the fakeness and conspicuous consumption that Hollywood is famous for.

I must be crazy. I actually feel like crying about the Kristen news! What with Focus losing Ben Affleck and Snow White delayed, I've been secretly worrying about Kristen. I know it's not my life or career, but I'm so glad to hear this very factual news.

LizzieD said...

KAMI -- I am sorry that some anonymous person sent you a nasty email. I'm sure that Rose will commiserate with you as she gets that stuff all the time.

I feel like everyone should have their own opinions and I think it's great that we can have our own 'VOICE' here on RPI aka ROSELAND!!!

BUT, I thought we had all agreed to disagree which I think means that if I say that I LOVED seeing a photo of Rob or Kristen (whether together or separate) that I should be allowed to be happy about that (not saying I always am but sometimes I am) without having others on the blog tell me that I'm disrespectful, etc. THE NAME OF THIS BLOG IS ROBERT PATTINSON INTOXICATION and anything to do with Robert includes KRISTEN so the same goes for her.

I know I'm not making myself clear and I don't want to be ugly (as some others have been to me in the past) but I just don't understand why those of us that "hang-out" here shouldn't discuss our favorite two "kids" ... yea I'm grandmotherly towards them.

I haven't even read all the comments, only a few in the past 5 minutes while taking a work break. Forgive me for intruding on something I know nothing about. I just know how I feel and have felt in the past here and let's all just BE HAPPY and respect each other. I think as far as blogs go for R & K, we are probably the most respectful in the fandom.

LIZ IN LALA LAND ... STILL TWIRLING ...

Ben Affleck had to drop out of Focus because of scheduling difficulties. Now, they have find someone else to replace him.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Katy! Especially about the news on Kristen's new project! I wonder how long it takes to replace someone like BA?

Caroline said...

IMDB has Susan Sarandon's name also attached to The Big Shoe. That would be great if it's true.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Caroline - THR is reporting it too - the cast seems really solid

Holy said...

Greetings everyone.

I'm happy to hear that Kristen have a new project The Good Shoe with Elizabeth Bank and Jim Sturgess.

@Ginger-hey there, have you seen Across the Universe yet?Jim S is one the main actor in that movie.

Holy said...

@Pam- hello, this is what were been waiting for isn't.A new project for Kristen.Am I reading it wrong that the budget is 150 million?

PamH said...

@ Holy
Hello, awesome news :) it doesn't seem to be a low budget indie film that's for sure. If she does Focus in April still then starts this new project in June she will be like Rob....busy, busy, busy

Holy said...

@Pam-I'm happy for both of them. We're still waiting to hear whose her new costar in Focus.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Holy - I haven't and I haven't seen Cloud Atlas yet either and I know he is in that one as well.

Robert said...

did y'all see what emma watson said about kristen ? i'ma holler for a dolla

"you go girl"

had to get all oprah winfrey on y'all

@artemisluvv

okay then, i am a stud

Robert said...

let me say it before anyone else does..that was just silly

katy said...

Holy

From what I understood, the 150 million is from a equity film fund by AngelWorld Entertainment, and besides "The Big Shoe", it will also finance 5 other movies.

Artemisluvv, You're welcome. I Regard, to "how long it will take them to replace BA"...I don't know, i guess, that other actors were considered for the part, maybe they will cast one of them.

Holy said...

@katy-thanks. @Ginger- I haven't seen Cloud Atlas too. My daughter didn't like the movie, so I lost interest of seeing it.What is this thing about Robs car in LA in twitter.

Stella said...

News on Kristen's new project are wonderful! Not that I had any doubt that she will make some good movies in the time to come, but she obviously needed some down time for reasons we might or might not know and understand.

I was wondering too about Rob's car in LA. What is that all about? If anyone could enlighten me, it would be wonderful...

I'm off to bed now.
Take care, all!

PS. Just for the record, I have neither the desire or the inclination to dictate anyone's desires, needs, thoughts, words, or beliefs. I'm just expressing myself. I also believe that, if we were all thinking or acting the same, the world would be such a boring place!

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Katy - I have heard some speculation that it maybe the location and length of filming (since it seemed really long) that may be part of the replacement factor.

@Robert - I did see that - kinda squashes some of those rivalry rumors and some others as well ;)

Unknown said...

First of all, I hate finding out info before she can announce it herself that it's really official. That really annoys me. I read an MTV news article that they found out from the Berlin International Film Festival. I guess the movie was being sold there?

Second, I'm really excited to hear the news of The Big Shoe, a project that sounds a lot more interesting than Focus, which I really hope that she drops. I'm excited for her to do comedy, but to be honest, I really don't like the premise.

Third, is it really 150million dollars? Is Kristen getting 30 million for this or are there special effects? The premise just doesn't sound like it calls out for 150 mil.

Fourth, I do not want to hear about SWATH ever again. In my opinion, this subject and project should be dead and buried.

Fifth, I love Jim Sturgess from Across the Universe. He's handsome, a good actor and singer.
If the early news is true, I'm excited for Kristen to be working with him. They make a good looking match.

Sixth, I love Susan Sarandon. I think she's still so beautiful.

Seventh, I'm not a fan of Elizabeth Banks. I wasn't impressed with her in the Hunger Games. But I can see her in this movie, so hopefully, it will be ok.

tufenuf55 said...

So happy for Kristen to have her next project! I believe the cast will work well together to tell the story. Kristen wows me in every film she makes as she gives real life to her characters.

Anonymous said...

Tufenuf I forgot about that phrase "Life imitating art". Yes, it's so true they are like magnets.

Topaz Susan Sarandon attached to the project is so great. I couldn't be more happy for KS. As Ginger said the The cast for the movie is really solid.

Robert Yes, you are! :)

Unknown said...

Artemisluvv,

I'm so happy for Kristen and Robert. I can't wait to see

DK,

Congratulations Kristen on your new venture! It hasn't been but a few months but I am anxious to see both Rob and Kristen on the big screen.

Excited we share our Heyer love.

Good morning dear Roseland,

Please stay safe and as warm as possible if you are in the path of the winter storms. Hope no one loses power.

Happy for the good news about Kristen's "shoe" project.
So nice to see both Rob and Kristen busy working at what they love to do.

Agree wholeheartedly that Kristen and Rob staying under the radar as much as possible is a wonderful thing. May we as fans continue to respect their private time.

PL and book club members:
First of all, PL, congratulations again on the excellent job you have done with the reading blog. Top notch. I finally found a copy of GG at Half Price Books and will begin reading this weekend. Excited to then catch up on all the comments that have been posted on the blog site. Hopefully I will be able to start on time if and when y'all select a second book to read.

I'm off to school.
Have a lovely Friday.

(My son just returned from a business trip out near the west coast and mentioned that he ate at In and Out Burger three days in a row. I still have never tasted one, even though I try to eat veggie, when I finally travel near one, it is on my list to try.)

Hugs for y'all.
Hugs for Smitty, Gruff and Syd.
Life is good.

The only reason I can think of that she would go is to support Colleen Atwood who has been nominated for costume design for SWATH. However, if that pig/pervert (who is not nominated for anything)is going, I hope she doesn't go. So chances of her attending are very slim indeed.

@Tuff / Topaz - honestly I didn't see either attending and I for one honestly will be glad if she doesn't go. The Oscar's are so political and now with the stuff going down with a member asking for a boycott over Zero Dark 30 - I think they might need to jump into this Century - they seem to be behind that and the Grammy's telling guest what to wear and not to wear down to their underpants (yes they used that word).

Ginger with a Soul said...

@gargamel - the haters wear their stupid more and more every day. They don't get how people view them or their behavior - the hatred in themselves has caused tunnel vision and they don't see the train wreck coming in front of their own faces. The saddest part is they don't get he would never appreciate or be anything other than disgusted by their behavior if he ever even knew they existed beyond a group of crazy ass delusional chicks. The only high five he would give them would be to the face.

Hello Roseland

Just got home from my hubby taking me for a little date to the movies and a burger at 5 guys. We watched Warm Bodies, I thought it was pretty good but my hubby wasn't a big fan. I do have to say that here was a few times that Teresa Palmer did remind me of Kristen, never really thought that before.

I'm surprised there isn't a hate campaign out for Jim Sturgess after being asked about Robs singing....poor guy won't know what hit 'em

@ Ginger
I'm with you on the hoopla over the Oscars and if it weren't for the music I wouldn't watch the Grammy's either, I guess they are tired of outfit malfunctions and slippages. lol

I hope everyone in storms way stays safe

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Kenzz - Be safe and warm !!!!!!

@Pam - eh I am watching because they have some decent bands but really with the dress code stuff. I am surprised they didn't tell them they would measure their hem lines from the knee after all they said no sheer or lace is allowed at all. I hope no one goes strapless that is far to daring and way too much skin. Am I wrong in hoping someone shows up in ass less chaps and a banana hammock that is hot pink?

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Pam - oh on Jim - they (the nonnies) attacked RPLife for posting the article - he wasn't rude and big whoop he doesn't like his music - he didn't say he didn't like him or anything bad about him. It is like me saying I don't like country (which I don't) so therefore I am attacking Carrie Underwood's character - I just don't get it.

Holy said...

@Ginger-hey-yes,I have seen it and their threatening RPL that they will lost followers.LOL.

@ Ginger
Haha, I'm absolutely hoping someone misbehaves :) I bet they have a bunch of pissed off women who have already picked out a killer dress and now have to start all over. I wonder if they have the fashion police waiting as the stars arrive to make sure everyone is dressed appropriately.

Looks like Kristen isn't the only one who likes to cook in her family, who knows maybe K and her Mom will make
some goodies to send a care package to Rob...if it's true Jules shared the photos ?

@ Kenzz
I hope you and your family stay safe through the storm .

tufenuf55 said...

I agree about Jim S. statement. He was being tactful and respectful to Rob. Rob might not like the same music as Jim S. likes. Different strokes...

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Pam - yeah she posted some pie pictures the other day.

Well with the group going someone is bound to be doing some pre-game drinking so they may just surprise us and the camel toe police might keel over hahahahahahahahahaha

@Holy - Someone forgot to wear their helmet today - the tin foil hats just aren't cutting it.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Tuff - yeah it just was not that big of a deal and honestly the only ones I saw making a stink or trying to twist it was the same old group of haters that always do it, so par for the course. I don't get offended by peoples entertainment choices - why else do we have hundreds of channels on TV and different genre's of music and movies.

PamH said...

@ Ginger
I figured some fallout would happen over it. I mean it's not like the world will end because he doesn't like Robs singing or that it will make a difference to Rob or Kristen either that he doesn't. I guess the people that run that blog will have to put up with some crazy people just like Rose does....as I'm sure he will hear from quite a few Rob crazed fans for his answer.

The simple solution that escapes the haters because they are so wrapped up in their vile emotions is that they can stop going to RPL or as to TV...change the channel!

Just wanted to comment on the Jim Sturgess interview.

1.) Italian language magazine - English translation (maybe something was lost?)
2.) He was asked about Rob as a musician - not if he liked his music.

I don't know about most people, but I can appreciate a 'good' musician whether I like their music style or not. Identifying someone as a 'good musician' isn't all that difficult. I think he probably gave a 'cop-out' answer because he didn't like being asked directly about 'Robert Pattinson'. Maybe being an English actor/musician he doesn't like being put on the spot to comment on other English actors/musicians. It's not like he has worked with Rob in either capacity.
Although, I think he could have commented in a more positive way, without losing his integrity. That's why I'm hoping it has more to do with 'lost in translation' than anything less flattering on Jim's part. At 21, he has a bit more maturing to do with how he comments on others either way.

Hope everyone in the path of the snow storm is safe and warm.

So glad to be able to catch up on everyone's comments this evening.

Ginger - I read up on RPL, that was funny! Seems the Italian media were trying to stir up trouble from day 1, in imitation of the American trash mags. Ohh, so it was one of the hater girls who was saying you shouldn't post this, you will lose viewers. I couldn't figure out that comment. No wonder!

Yes, the Oscars appear to be going political over ZDT.

And, the Grammy letter over dress is so funny! Ok all you rockers..dress nice now!! I wouldn't be surprised if someone rebels and wears something really crazy. I mean what about Lady Gaga? I guess she won't be there this year, but still, that is a crazy "dress code" policy.

Tufe - awesome pictures of Rob, thanks!

Wow, I never thought of that, maybe the Rup-pig will be at the Oscars since Coleen was nominated. I see what you mean about that now.

This is fun, catch up on all the current events via Roseland!

While searching around to read about what you all have been discussing. I stopped by Spunk-Ransom and again watched the video of Rob presenting at the Golden Globes. I know we are all used to his georgeous face, but in that GG video he really is "too beautiful to look at"!!!!

What is really amazing, is that that face belongs to such a wonderful, funny, down to earth, heartfelt gentleman.

oopps spelled gorgeous wrong, sorry.

@Loui White - the thing is they want to make this out to be about Kristen. Her part was announced yesterday and god knows how long ago that article was written, It is an odd question to ask in the 1st place anyway - yes Rob sings/plays but he is known for his acting - I could understand if he had an album out or something. I will admit if I don't like a singer/band/group I usually just say that I don't like their music and there are some genre's that I dislike so much I don't even give it a chance before I do trigger happy on changing the station.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Loui White - I have to share - I really really don't like hardcore rap - like I act like a 2 yr old with my fingers in my ears when forced to listen to it. Me being honest - I would tell you they aren't musicians and I know I am not being fair at all. I feel bad for admitting that but I would admit I am bias and should not be used for any poll at all where that is concerned - ever LOL. I also may or may not have a ban in place that Justin Bieber and One Direction are forbidden to be played where I can hear when I am home

Unknown said...

@Ginger
I agree. "They" always try to create divisiveness(?) where there is none. I just feel like he (Jim) could have offered a more positive statement, regardless of the circumstances. A simple 'Yes, he's a good musician' would have answered the question without challenging his integrity, regardless of his taste in music. I think a more seasoned actor/musician would have known this in regards to interviews. You never know who you could be working with next in 'their' business. That's why I give him the benefit of the doubt.
Maybe working with Kristen will allow these two 'Brits' to get to know each other better.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@ Loui White - I wonder if he has even heard anything he has done? His 1st answer was almost like he was just trying to get them to move it along, makes you wonder if they think all British actors "know" each other. Well maybe now he will get to know him - how ironic that a question made prior is now part of his reality now, makes you wonder if his future answer would be different.

Unknown said...

Ginger,

I agree. He was nothing but polite and honest and why does every actor/actress need to be asked about Rob? Same with Emma Watson being asked about Kristen? These robsessed bitches on RPL better leave Jim Sturgess alone. He doesn't deserve any hate. These women need love in their lives instead of spending all day obsessing about their hatred for Kristen. I think they truly need help, they need a therapist to get over their jealousy and rage over a young girl. So Jim doesn't like Rob's type of music, so it must be Kristen's fault. Bahahahahahah!

Unknown said...

Ginger, I am curious now, do you like Tupac?

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Topaz - I really didn't like them attacking RPL - they want them to be like another blog that I will not say that cuts Kristen out of pictures or video's but they won't - they have said she is part of his life and as long as that is the case they will be posting things with her. The funny thing is Kristen is not mentioned at all in the article and has nothing to do with her but they accused them of only posting it because of her. Kristen makes their world go round or the the pinwheel on their tin hats.

I grew up in the Northeast and loved it when we got tons of snow, which was every year. When I became an adult, no so much, which is why I moved to the Southeast. lol

The main thing is not to lose power and because the snow is a wet snow, hopefully no power loss. Ice is the dreaded power loser. Hope you continue to be safe.

@Ginger,
Exactly. He, (Jim), probably had little to no experience with Rob's music. I'm sure he was taken by surprise with the question. He will probably have a different take on this question in a year's time.
I think the premise for this new movie with Kristen ('The Big Shoe'?) is kind of interesting. I definately like the 'dark-humor' genre. I think Kristen will be excellent in this type of film. I hope the director keeps it 'light', and that the humor of the situation is allowed to shine. I like intelligent movies that give humor the lead - trusting the audience to 'get' what is intended by the storyline. You can convey serious topics without losing the humor of the situation. In fact, sometimes the humor propels the deeper meaning. I think Kristen will be excellent at communicating this type of story.

tufenuf55 said...

Loui white

I read on another blog that The Big Shoe would be boring because of shoes. I replied that The Devil Wears Prada was about fashion but with the sideline stories and fabulous cast, it was so great. People should just wait and see how the story develops before judging. As Kristen said to Rob in the Eclipse commentary, "People always like to focus on the negative, Rob."

Ginger, when I was in my teens, I only listened to a few rap artists that actually sang from their hearts and their lyrics reflect their upbringing. And Tupac was definitely one of them. I loved his " dear mama" song.

Tuf, it's ok to say you hate rap. No one should fault you for that. I don't listen to today's rap either.

Dear Mama by Tupac

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb1ZvUDvLDY

"Dear Mama"

You are appreciated

[Verse One: 2Pac]

When I was young me and my mama had beef
Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place
Suspended from school; and scared to go home, I was a fool
with the big boys, breakin all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids
And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama
When things went wrong we'd blame mama
I reminice on the stress I caused, it was hell
Huggin on my mama from a jail cell
And who'd think in elementary?
Heeey! I see the penitentiary, one day
And runnin from the police, that's right
Mama catch me, put a whoopin to my backside
And even as a crack fiend, mama
You always was a black queen, mama
I finally understand
for a woman it ain't easy tryin to raise a man
You always was committed
A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

[Chorus: Reggie Green & "Sweet Franklin" w/ 2Pac]

Lady...
Don't cha know we love ya? Sweet lady
Dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't cha know we love ya?

[second and third chorus, "And dear mama" instead of "Dear mama"]

[Verse Two: 2Pac]

Now ain't nobody tell us it was fair
No love from my daddy cause the coward wasn't there
He passed away and I didn't cry, cause my anger
wouldn't let me feel for a stranger
They say I'm wrong and I'm heartless, but all along
I was lookin for a father he was gone
I hung around with the Thugs, and even though they sold drugs
They showed a young brother love
I moved out and started really hangin
I needed money of my own so I started slangin
I ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocks
It feels good puttin money in your mailbox
I love payin rent when the rent's due
I hope ya got the diamond necklace that I sent to you
Cause when I was low you was there for me
And never left me alone because you cared for me
And I could see you comin home after work late
You're in the kitchen tryin to fix us a hot plate
Ya just workin with the scraps you was given
And mama made miracles every Thanksgivin
But now the road got rough, you're alone
You're tryin to raise two bad kids on your own
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

[Chorus]

[Verse Three: 2Pac]

Pour out some liquor and I reminsce, cause through the drama
I can always depend on my mama
And when it seems that I'm hopeless
You say the words that can get me back in focus
When I was sick as a little kid
To keep me happy there's no limit to the things you did
And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act craaazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me
I wish I could take the pain away
If you can make it through the night there's a brighter day
Everything will be alright if ya hold on
It's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

[Chorus]

Sweet lady
And dear mama

Dear mama
Lady [3X]

@Loui - Yup I like Kevin Smith's Movies for that darker humor (Chasing Amy, Clerks or Dogma). I haven't seen Secretary but it is the same directory and I guess people think it will be along the same lines.

If I was a betting person I would guess his answer was more of why are you asking me about him in my interview thing and was nothing personal.

I didn't realize that there were sites that purposely cut Kristen out of the pictures. I can see choosing to follow Rob, but to be extreme about removing someone from the pics, that is weird.

Artemisluvv,

lol, I grew up in the ghetto, it is hard to avoid it....lol.

There are many beautiful rap artists, but just not in the mainstream, but Tupac was definitely one of good ones.

Unknown said...

My bad - I guess he is 31. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing in this instance. Like I said, you never know who you will be working with in 'their' business. I guess time will tell how much Jim's comment matters. I'm guessing, not much. As long as people can be professional with each other, interview responses go largely unnoticed.
Rob & Kristen seem to me to be the kind of people to 'live and let live'. As long as there are no direct attacks on them, I think they are content to let things be. I admire that. Especially in the microscopic world that they tend to be exposed to.
Seeing as it is going on past 1am my time, I need to get some sleep. I work a late shift tomorrow, and I haven't been sleeping very well lately. I hope you all have a great weekend! Be safe, those in the Northeast. Hope everyone in Roseland enjoys their weekend - however you spend it!

Thanks for the good wishes - I can use them. Have a nice sleep tonight as well. I truly love the atmosphere here in Roseland. I never leave with a heavy heart. You are all an inspiration. God bless and keep you well - that includes Rob & Kristen, of course(!). Hoping they are together soon, (if they aren't already). I know they draw a great deal of strength from each other.
I've noticed that when they start a new project they seem to need the first couple of weeks on set to get into character and allow for the best creative juices to flow, but after about 3 weeks they need to re-charge - and that is when the 'other' comes and visits on set. Allowing for some personal support and encouragement.
That's just my take on their professional separations, I could be totally off base.
Thanks again for the 'sweet dreams'. Really signing off now, (as my eyes are beginning to lose their focus and I'm not sure where my comments are headed!)

I hope you and your family are safe and I wish the same for all of those who were and still are affected by this massive snowstorm.
Take care everybody.
I was out for a bit taking pictures this AM. The snow is like powder. :)
-------------
Robert Pattinson has to be embarrassed by some of his fans.
The Twilight fandom is full of the batshit crazy.

I don't think anything Jim Sturgess said is an insult to Rob at all.......It isn't Jim's taste in music but he admits that Rob seems to enjoy what he does and seems sincere.
I would say the same.

ANNIE -- Glad you didn't get more than 8 inches, somewhere in CT got 34 inches last time I checked, wow. I think it helps that it's the weekend ... if everyone can stay off the roads up there then they'll have it under control by Monday.

LIZ IN LALA LAND -- STILL TWIRLING!!!

And if anyone wants to know why I'm twirling, here are my reasons:

1. I love ROSELAND because everyone here LOVES R & K.

2. I really love that Kristen is out of the spotlight for awhile.

3. I really love that Kristen has a new movie lined up.

4. I love that Rob is "somewhere" in Australia working and that he has an AC motorhome for in between takes.

5. LAST BUT NOT LEAST --- I REALLY LOVE THAT ROB & KRISTEN ALWAYS END UP TOGETHER.

@Annie - he deserves better fans - some people are way to secular and think you have to agree or like everything they do - that makes you a bit unrealistic imho - I don't even agree with everything my kids, family or friends do - being objective as a fan base probably is more beneficial to them. Some people acted like what he said was the end of the world - how dare he have an opinion - cheers to the paint eaters of the world.

Intruth said...

@ Ginger, love your "great alone, better together" analogies!!! Perfectly and simply said!

All that ridiculous crap on RPL about "Robstens need their own site" because they posted the Jim Sturgess comment was just so crazy. It is just hard to remain unruffled when I hear those kind of fans-- (some call them Robsessed, but, honestly, I'm just sick of all the labeling on BOTH sides!) but you know, THOSE fans who say you must love everything about Rob, except cut Kristen out of the picture, or you aren't a real fan-- those extreme fans calling the "Robsten" fans (those who love both Rob and Kristen separately, but also enjoy knowing they're together) the looney, problematic, extreme fans. ARRRGGG!!!! But, like Super said in an earlier comment, people just can't get along. Sadly true. Guess that's why some fans choose not to say much of anything about Rob and/or Kristen. There are so many snipers wearing various colors of their various "right" brand of fandom willing to attack anyone with a differing opinion! Yikes. I don't want to be like that. I do enjoy all the different comments here... this is a nice place to be a Rob/Kristen fan.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Annie - not like you would think - RPL got attacked for posting the article and then people came out in force supporting them - I mean the people bitching were Kristen haters - people and their agenda's.

@Intruth - Thanks:) - there is nothing wrong with being objective at all and yes there are people so afraid to say they didn't like something they wore or a movie they did - they do diverse projects and with that comes movies we all aren't going to like. Normal people can separate professional and personal thoughts of an actor - the crazies just want it all to be based in the personal realm

For fucks sake! This fandom is like Chicken Little. No wonder the gossip media has such a field day at Rob and Kristen's expense and anyone attached to them.

Annie said...

Ginger: I agree with RPI posting the article.

Sturgess's comment had nothing to do with Kirsten. Nothing! Just another chance for opportunistic bitches to criticize and to blame.

The man was asked a question and in my opinion gave an honest answer. I have a feeling Robert Pattinson would appreciate the man's answers, rather than going around wanting people to continually stroke his ego.

There were fans who didn't like Cosmoplis, thought Rob was wrong for taking on the role. How is that any different from what Sturgess said about his taste in music? Rob's music isn't for him but he applauds his sincerity and his obvious love for what he does.

I use Cosmoplis as an example because many in and out of the fandom didn't understand it or like it. Critics gave Rob his best ever reviews for that role.
I thought it was Rob's best work to date.

It is impossible for all music and all movies to be loved by everyone. Impossible!

The things that go on in / said in this fandom by some calling themselves fans, is embarrassing.

Intruth said...

Forgot to say: @ Loui White, I think you're right about Rob and Kristen taking time at the beginning of projects to get focused and into the production before one visiting the other.

From what we know (though we also know they could be visiting and are not spotted) the visits we have seen in pics or later comments by co-stars, etc. have usually been a ways into the production, and not even always including the wrap parties. I like to think Rob and Kristen know what they need and want to do as far as supporting each other and making their relationship work. They are able to figure it out to their own mutual satisfaction.

I haven't been listening to the hoopla about the academy but, it was really hard for me to watch that part of the movie. It is a good film and Jessica Chastain did a great job.

Birdie said...

I should say Kathryn Bigelow did also. She is impressive.

Holy said...

@Annie-I saw Zero Dark 30.It's good movie and you're right the torture scene are graphic. It seems that Kathryn Bigelow likes to direct those kind of movies.I can't wait to see her directing dramas and comedies.

@Pisto-that's brilliant.LOL

Hi Holy. Hi Birdie. :)

Interesting that Kathryn Bigelow had Mark Boal as her screenwriter for The Hurt Locker and now Zero Dark 30.

Hi DK. :) Enjoy!

Back from the birthday party shuffle (dropping kids off)

Ok I think I get the scene because it is probably how I feel about American History X - I watched the curb check once and have no desire to ever see it again but that movie was amazing and the message behind it

The surprising thing about The Walking Dead is that the men who play Rick and The Governor are British. Rick, especially, has a wonderful Brit accent. He's great.

I have relatives in Portland, ME and the had a record 29 inches.

The ruckus about Zero Dark Thirty started when Sen. John McCain dissed the movie saying that the movie does not give factual information about the torture or capture. From there, Academy locked onto it. I don't get it. Every movie I've ever seen that was a "true story" was not completely factual. That's why it is called movies and not documentaries.

@Tuf/Annie- Django Unchained is also good.I can't believe that Quentin T,Leo D and Jamie F were snub by Oscars.

@Ginger- you will like the sound track for Django.

For you strong-minded Irish women:

IF YOU MARRY AN IRISH GIRL

The first man married a woman from Italy. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a woman from Poland. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done and there was a huge dinner on the table.
...
The third man married a girl from Ireland. He ordered her to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees......;)

Haha! Proud to say I'm Irish!

First thing we did getting off the plane....great memories! I had not had a burger or fries in 4+ years. It was fabulous! I had mine wrapped in lettuce. Strange but good. Wish we had in and Out here in the Midwest ....sigh.

Hi to all you Roselanders, interesting conversations here as always.

Tufenuf - I'm sorry to hear you haven't been able to sleep, me too, it's been a crazy week. Maybe it's because spring is coming, seasons changing. If it doesn't change I'll try the pillow and/or lavender oil suggestions - sorry can't locate who made those suggestions...but thank you!

Snowfolks - that is amazing 8", 34" & 40 inches of snow. I can't even relate to that. How do you get out of the house?

Annie - I did love Cosmopolis too, not that I understood it very well. I need to watch it again. It was delicious to see Rob in every single scene, and I liked the character portrayal a lot.

Ginger - OMG poor Jim Sturgess and his Twitter account! I guess Chicken Little really fits doesn't it? It's embarassing for all the normal fans. Although, every fandom has it's crazies. Hopefully, Jim is
experienced enough to ignore the whole thing.

DK Listening to the Patters! Super memories, that song reminds me of my dad.

Birdie - Great laughs! My petite grandmother was Irish, and believe me she was the spitfire person "in charge" of our whole family.

Ginger - I was saving pics from Rose's blog & other internet places today for a desktop screen show. Anyway, I ran across an article that said the "after" photos were staged" at KS's new house for publicity reasons. It truly doesn't make any sense, and I don't believe it. Have you heard of this before?

@Ginger
Dinner was good! Family behaved.

@Birdie
You are an inspiration, Irish spitfire!

Ginger with a Soul said...

@artemisluvv - I heard it but it is not true - the pictures were taken down because lawyers got involved - if they were staged they along with the video would be still be all over pop sugar and they wouldn't has been banned from the press junket or snubbed by both ever since.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@DK - now that was a nice time indeed for you. I am happy for ya - smooches

Anonymous said...

Ginger - Oh Ginger I love your answer! I didn't know they were taken down with lawyers involved. And Popsugar being banned from the press junket and by the actors!!! Yes, there is some justice in the world. The whole idea sounded so unsafe. I try to prevent my own address from getting out there, and K&R need so much more security than ordinary folks.

@Pist
For more laughs, watch "My Man Godfrey" with Carole Lombard & William Powell from 1936. It's on my public television station right now. Got a free hour or so? Here you go:

1 hour, 33 mins.

Holy said...

@Ginger- did the kids enjoy the party?

DreamerKind said...

@Arte
Yes, great old time music! Glad you enjoyed it.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@Holy - just the 8 yr old went to the party - I had to do something for the other 2 so they didn't feel left out - all but 1 is crashed for the night so they had a great day

@artemisluvv - oh yeah - they still are trying to get back in their good graces - I think it might be a while

So, the paps apparently blocked Chris Brown in a alley and he got in an accident trying to get away from them and totaled his car - uh do they have special laws for paps - I thought that was I don't know illegal and could be constituted as detaining someone against their will.

Anonymous said...

DK - Thanks for the link for the shoes, they are lovely and unique.

Ginger - Such a great story, it made my night!

I saw a pic of Chris Brown's car. So glad he is safe. I've heard that in California they were going to restrict some of the unsafe behavior of the paps, but it doesn't seem to have happened.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@artemisluvv - someone is going to get killed with that behavior - I am not wishing bad on anyone but one day they are going to do that to the wrong person or someone with security and a pap is going to get the shit beat out of him and there won't be a lawsuit for them to win.

Anonymous said...

Ginger - didn't one of the paps die recently while trying to photo what he thought was Justin Beiber driving? I've heard celebrities complain also how the paps are unsafe for the fans too, rushing through pedestrian crosswalks in their cars.

In this article about the Big Shoe they mention how the "muse" has a perfect foot. That is going to be a fun movie.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@artemisluvv - yup he did - I think he got hit by a car stepping back into traffic

The movie looks like it is going to be really good

It reminds me of the video where Rob was trying to get them to stop following him after several hours. I think he called the police, but I don't know if they helped him. It made my heart go out to him, very awful.

Also, Gerard Butler had to go to court for punching a pap who had been following him for 8 hours, and Butler said the pap had just almost run down a pedestrian. That's when Butler just couldn't take anymore.

Ginger with a Soul said...

@DK - I got a video I want to watch - the song is great too but I think you will get a laugh out of it- I was cracking up the 1st time I saw it
