They got stalked, chased and harassed.

For months now... Rob and Kristen have been
in and out of airports with nary a sighting.
Unfortunately, the Paps were lying in wait
(kinda like Hyenas)
Because they knew the cast was coming.
Oh well.

Wow.
So I was kinda waiting for the rabid attack.
I mean...
I did kinda mention someone in passing.
But see...
When Hyenas don't like what you have to say
They make it PERSONAL.

But have no qualms about bringing someone kids into play.

I remember not too long ago when someone made

Well no more fun and games at school either. They just took all the coffee pots away because "the electricity costs too much to run them." We are also down to only one microwave for the entire staff to use to heat lunches (because of electricity costs). They are "trying to work something out."

Man, those are harsh economies at work.
Why don't they put in a good coffee machine, like the ones at rest stops, where you can choose capaccinos, etc. and charge 10 or 25c per cup? It tastes good and you can still have your access when you need it and maybe even a small profit for the school.

Okay folks -- since we are on the topic of security and protection against crazies...
A few years ago I did audience research for a soap opera. One of the things I handled was monitoring soap sites for fan reaction to story lines, and writing summaries and strategic recommendations for the producers.
The fan comments were -- and are -- monitored for several things -- positive or negative reponse to story lines, pairings, characters, actors... and also for any kind of obsessive behaviors, extreme statements or threatening comments.
This latter task was very important in a genre where the fans often confuse the actors with the characters they play, and also where frequent fan meet and greet events offer an unually high degree of access to the actors.
I can't tell you the number of times we sent reports to studio security guards, local police departments, event security and in some cases even the FBI. At events, we has a list of potential threats, and if any of them showed, they were under constant scrutiny. Of course every attempt would be made to prevent a situation where the actor would be put in the position of having to rebuff a fan, since that could trigger a potentially dangerous response.
This type of preventive online monitoring is done every day -- on a much larger scale of course --for stars like Rob and Kristen. When they are filming studios have to provide a record of monitoring as part of the indemnification process with insurers; and when they are not filming their management handles it.
There are dozens of companies that speciaize in tracking online conversations , using web crawler programs expressly designed to capture trigger words, phrases and posting patterns; when it's being done for security purposes (vs consumer research) they also trace anonymous posters through ISP addresses, and even employ the services of psychologists to profile potential threats. (Of course it helps when the crazies provide their names and photos, make no attempt to hide their agenda and even provide their travel plans.)
Actors are regularly briefed on the threats and when fans who have been "coded" show up at events they are under constant surveillance. Since the goal is to protect the star while also avoiding an incident or confrontation, unless the fan gets violent he or she will not be denied access to the event. The actor or actress will always greet them so as not to risk insulting or rejecting them, since that is the prime trigger for violence -- but their interaction with the actor is actually being heavily controlled without their realizing it. (You'd be surprised how many "fans" in the crowd are actually security people trained to blend in.)
Just thought this might be of interest to a lot of people -- for various reasons.

Too close to my daws birthday, sorry. She is already complaining about not having me at one party her father's giving and expects to celebrate like me, her mother, all month long. So, we've been tossing around dates and the 9th is one of them.
