After 27 years of marriage.
Sad news.
As always... the reactions were fascinating.
I doubt many were surprised by this news
And I'm guessing Kristen knew about this for a while
and has had time to deal with it.
But then you have the obsessed hyenas.
The ones who have clamped onto Kristen
and can't let go.

This will be her first public appearance
since the 'incident'.
Everyone will be watching even more intently

That's what I think she will do.
Be strong and do her job.
The amount of hatred and judgement

I have thought about the VMA's. The VMA'S WANT Rob, they want to advertise that he's going to be there, right? They know they'll draw more viewers, the sponsors know they'll have more viewers. I don't care WHO is hosting, I imagine that Rob's people will have ground-rules. I don't imagine that anything Kristen will be mentioned during Rob's intro. As to whether or not they mention the "incident" well that might be an open field. If so, you can bet that cameras will be on Rob to see his reaction. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't even take a seat in the audience, just hangs out back stage. Didn't he do that once before?

@Topaz - I think Summit is willing to draw the line for the most money they can get period and if it on Kristen's back they will do it in a heart beat. They don't care about their actors they care about money - nothing more nothing less. If they chose to side dish Kristen and everyone is cool acting like she is not a part of that movie I will hands down lose respect. If they shun her from promo's I won't sit my scared ass in a movie with my kids - that was the movie I intended to take my kids too after the crap that happened here and they are scared to go but were willing to give it a go. I refuse to be part of the demonetization of a person who did something that many before and many after her have done. If everyone involved in that movie is ok with what is happening to her - I feel sad for them, it will be a good lesson of reality vs fantasy for sure - for me anyway.
I am not going to discuss their relationship because I only know what I know. I was married for almost 18 yrs and in that time my ex did many many shitty things - I had my dirt too but 2 years later while I am not in love with him I still would not want bad things to happen to him and care about his well being - we shared time together and you can't erase any of that. He would give anything for us to be together and if I was in love with him - I would work it out - we had rough patches that we worked out before because that is what you do when you are in love with the other person. My love didn't fade because of what he did - it faded because we are so completely opposite we couldn't see eye to eye on anything. A piece of paper is not what defines a marriage either or if a relationship deserves extra effort - love defines that.

WOW! so I was in the middle of ready to catch up in comments when I recieved a call that made me wonder why people do what they do. Just found out my great grandpa passed tonight. Not many people have grandparents but to have Great grandparents is such an honor!! and to make all this shit worse is my family are fighting as to how they all found out. my sister posted a tribute post to him and family members attack her b/c she posted about it. I mean WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!! sorry for my choice of words but SERIOUSLY!!! I wish we could pick who we are realated to cuz this pointless fucking drama over who found out how or first is so fucking stupid and selfish. My husband doesn't know if he can go to the funeral becuase of my fucking extend family.

I have to say that for the first time in a long while, I don't get the conversation today. I personally choose not to see conspiracies around every corner. I imagine there are contractual obligations for BD promotion. Celebs have conflicts all the time with promotions. I don't see this as Summit choosing sides, they have a lot of money invested in BD2 and are looking to make a lot of money as well. This, I imagine, is a nuisance and an annoyance. I expect they see K as a potential liability - "its not personal, its business." Hollywood mostly exists to make money, and lots of it. I don't expect it to be fair, or just, or rational, or even-keel. Good thing, or I'd be sadly disappointed.
AAnyone who publicly speaks out or defends K gets sucked into it. While I would love for everyone to defend her, or tell people to backoff, I have no doubt their publicists and managers are saying to stay out of it. I get it.
I don't think its any kind of statement that Rob will be at the VMA's, they need a big name there. The MTV/Twilight relash has been tight all along. We've all known K would be at TIFF for awhile now.
That's why they call this "Show Biz", my friends, biz, this is a business. And unfair, unjust things happen ALL THE TIME in business.
Let me add, I appreciate all the defenders, for R, for K and for R&K. I'm one of them, I just don't want so many of you to get burned out, frustrated, etc any more than you have already. I appreciate and respect where you all are coming from!

The worst part of all is that it always seems to come down to fucking MONEY!!! everyone is worried about getting their fair share of the cut. long story short. my grandma has helped my mom is some many ways b/c she was and is a single mom of three. and everyone else has no IDEA of what that is like and how hard it is. well like it said everyone is so worried about getting their fair share, its my grandmas money and she can give it aways for all I care cuz that is not what I see and love her for. they don't see how their actions effect her nor do they care and so this has trickled all the way down to the cousions and so on. I am so disappointed in the reactions here tonight. Maybe because I was away from the internet all day, I don't know. But, last night, we were all so excited about Kristen's appearance at TIFF and everyone was "high fiving" each other and cheering her on.
How can everyone turn their backs on her so quickly? A couple of magazines that don't paint her in the best light? We knew that was going to happen, it doesn't change anything about how she should hold her head up on Thursday.
And the VMA's ... I still believe that Rob's people will "curtail" some of the possible negative stuff. Not saying that they won't "insinuate" things and if, I can see Rob just remaining stoic, sort of like on GMA or Jon Stewart. Does anyone here really think so lowly of him that they would "go along" with something that would hurt her? I know we are all entitled to our opinions but I'm so disappointed in everyone tonight.
Guess I'm the only one left in LALA LAND tonight ... I'M GOING TO TWIRL because I believe and eventually you all will, too.

I cannot believe I just wrote it still hurts eventhough I do not know this couple and probably will never meet them. I develop a gastritis that became pretty evident after what you people call "the incident". Went to my physician and she gave me an antibiotic treatment that sent me to the hospital on thursday for three days. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced... and was especially worrisome because at 23 years old I have already had a complex medical history that almost took my life 4 years ago...

Just read the article and it's a good one. The first movie I watched of hers was The Cake Eaters. I was blown away by her performance, I thought it was oscar worthy. I can feel her pain in her performance when that guy had second thoughts about sleeping with her. That was great acting, her body movements, everything.
Anyways the thing I did forget to say in my rant above was that at this very moment I feel hope for a reconciliation (naive of me right?)... I know it will disappear tomorrow an then Ill come again here to regain hope... and repeat the cycle as many times as possible so that even if they do not get back together I will have confidence to say I feel they each are Ok (loving each other perhaps??? )... it is a creepy therapy, but hopefully it will heal my twilight robsten heart

At this point once Twilight is gone for good - new movies - we will see the real Kristen and real Rob. my husbands great grandmother died last year...she was 100 years old. My husband did not attend the funeral. But shortly before she died, I saw her on her birthday, and she looked GREAT!!
She had a manicure and everything.

Topaz he was still the same funny man he has always been. although his wife my great grandma died 3 years ago this christmas and he took it soo hard he wanted to go with her but we kept him busy and in well spirits but he had a minor heart attack and so he had been in hospital for few days and so i think it was both his body gave out and he really missed my grandma. but they are happly together again!!! I wish I could have seen him one last time. just glad he got to meet my daughter and I have photos of them together.

@Liz, I'm here, I'm twirling. I'm chosing not to wring my hands about things I can't control.
I hope we can all get to a place where we enjoy what we do get, as fans, and not lament what we don't. I started out as a Twilight fan first, I didn't know much about R or K prior to that. I'll support the movie regardless. K, R, and everyone else devoted a lot of time and energy to the project, I feel they deserve my support by getting my box office dollar, regardless.
Let's twirl, let's see what evolves, let's choose to see the good and positive, and give that our focus and energy!

The hate is too much for one only person to deal, including a 22 years old girl. 22 years old! If this is difficult to us we can imagine to her and her family and true friends. And i want to believe that for Rob too.
We all know that all this hate from everywhere is because of ROb. It's not because of the pics with the pig. All these histericals reactions from the fans is because of ROb.
Tomomrrow in TIFF will not be easy for her. We all know that. But it's the best public out that could happen to her, TIFF is a respectable festival and everyone there will be professional, they don't care about gossip. we all have seen the pappz laws that they put for this year, yes i believe that some is to protect kristen.
Rob probably will go to VMAs, and is ironic that the only show that we didn't want him to go , he will go...
Her team have a huge important mission in the next months, to change her public image. To me it's obvious that she will have to change her relationship with the media and pappz. No more the middle finger, the boring face in the interviews. This has to change, she like it or not. She has to play the game. I'm not saying that she has to change who she is. No and i hope that she doesn't change who she is , that we have seen all these years and that we love her for that. But she has to grown up. We all know very well that her in many interviews and red carpets she always make the boring faces, and this is why that many people attack her calling her ungrateful. She is not but is the image she appears.
kristen when appear in public she will have to make an "Angelina Jolie moment".
She will have to appear has a strong woman, who made a stupid mistake and learn and move on.
For kristen in this momment the best person she could talk is Angelina Jolie. And i wish that in the future their destinys come together, making a movie , become friends. No one in hollywood knows more about public and media hate than Angelina JOlie. I see similaries between both. And not only because what happened but before i always saw in kristen some of angelina qualities.
Like Angie , kristen has the same public reaction: you love her or hate her, but you are not indifferent. Kristen has the same badass atittude, bad girl. kristen doesn't care what the others think about her, she ignore the haters in the past. Angie doesn't cate either. kristen is very HOT. For me she is the most hot actress of her generation. She does not pretend she is sexy, she is sexy because she is confident of who she is.
I think she will do indies movies in the future.
I believe after BD promotion she will make a stop. She will return to Lies down in the darkness. This is a huge role for her, can bring awards to her.
About rOB, the truth can be he is with her or move on from her, the reality is that he is not devastated. Or his love for her is strong like we all believe. Or he didn't love her deeply like we all believed. And i believe for his behaviour that he already made the decision.
@Isis - I think you're right, I think there'll be some contrition on her part and more of the playing the game.
There are soooo many examples of people in Hollywood overcoming scandal. I honestly don't think she needs to imitate or emulate anyone else's behavior. I have faith that she's a strong enough person to stand on her own two feet and figure this out. Personally, I can't stand Angelina, and have no respect for her, or her image overhaul. I hope she doesn't look to her, try Sienna Miller, Claire Danes, there's a long list. If anything, Ang is an example that people have short memories. By this time next year, most will have moved on and Kristen will be out of the cross-hairs.

@Wig - after twilight is done - that will be when she will most likely left alone. I don't want her to change - Clooney might be the best example how to handle the media - he has had a very long hate/hate relationship with them. He is professional but gives them only what he wants, smile for some poses then moves on. When asked about his personal life he smiles and doesn't answer.
I said this before I hope she wears blue and you know what - I hope she wears whatever she feels comfortable in - if she dresses conservative it will be PR - she dresses sexy - she is a heartless slut - life is to short and since no matter what someone is going to bitch somewhere somehow - she needs to just live it the way that is ok for her - I support her being her.
PamH -- Regarding Kristen's dress... I would imagine that her people/stylist will try to keep it conservative. Hopefully, Kristen will be happy with whatever they decide on.
Then again, she might decide to wear something really "edgy" and very short and low-cut and say "the devil with everyone, this is ME" ....

@Ginger - totally agree, Clooney is good example with handling the media. The people I listed were those able to overcome the scarlet letter.
I hope to see her in a typical K dress, to be herself, regardless!

ISIS -- I agree with you about Kristen being sexy because she is confident. I hope we will see some of that over the next couple of days.
I do hope for her PR sake that she shows some of her old shyness and awkwardness which is what drew people to her in the beginning.
I'm not sure if you're trying to imply that Rob has moved on. I do NOT believe that Rob has moved on, at all. I believe 100% that they are together... might be working out a few issues but I believe they're working on them together. I believe she is not alone in this "mess"... I believe all the decisions about who says what or who doesn't say what are being made "together".
I believe that they will do BD2 promo together and would do it together even if they hated each other. WE ALL KNOW that they still love each other. As for BD2 stuff, I don't believe we're going to see any "touchy/feely" stuff like last year. I think they are even more wary of how photos and press will spin everything and will want to be even more private than before. Is that even possible?
I think Rob selling the house is a good thing. They need to be in a more private area where the paps can't camp out across the street.

I FORGOT TO SAY .... that even though I don't believe we'll see them "touching" during BD2 promos, I think they won't be able to hide their "bubble" or their glances.
Two months ago, we were "gaga" over seeing them kiss and hug at Cannes ... NOW, we'll be ECSTATIC if we see him and her looking at each other the way they've always done.

I hope K gets to wear what she wants and not what others thinks she should wear. She always said if she didn't feel good in something she hated to wear it or wouldn't , no one likes wearing something that you don't like it brings your self esteem down and she does not need that added to already being nervous.
GINGER -- I'm so glad you're feeling better today. As you say, all the stuff about MTV is very vague... who knows? we might see a hologram of Rob, LOL

Yes i agree with you, we will not get the touching and posing together on red carpet BD part 2. The big truth about their status will be in the way they will look to each other, speccially Rob. If there one thing that we all love to see was the way he look to her, the loving eyes. If he look the same way to her during the promos, we all know that everything is ok. If not...
