Robert Pattinson- Walking For Elephants

Did you see Rob on Ellen and Kimmel?
Was he all kinds of adorable?
I could watch him talk... forever.
And ever.
And ever.
Amen.

Anyway.
I've got a kinda busy day...
and not a lot of time to
laugh at all the silliness that is out there.
And at this stage of the game
(and it really seems like a game, doesn't it?)
I'm starting to feel a bit guilty in having so much
entertainment at their delusional expense.
Yeah. I know.
But you know what?
I'm not a mean person at heart.
And although I do enjoy a good poke and a jab...
Even that gets tedious.
I love a good debate
But obviously this game is over.
You lose.
I'm calling it.
Slaughter Rule.
Sorry.
Everyone has gone home.
You are still out there trying to hit that home-run.
The bleachers are empty.
The lights have been turned off.
It's just you...
Wildly swinging that bat...
at nothing but air.
Go home.
With acceptance... comes peace.

*************************************************************************

And with that...
I will now just post some of my favorite pics
from this whole WFE experience.

WALKING FOR ELEPHANTS
;)

Yes.
I'm still twirling.

" I'm still twirling better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor
Feeling like a little kid."

Life is good... isn't it?

So this post is brought to you by WALKING

No one does it better than Robert.
Maybe I'm biased...
I don't care.
Truth is truth.

And this post is brought to you by...

Just because.

And I love Bart.

Bye for now

Walking for Elephants - cute.

I still don't get the Bart references but I guess we're not supposed to.

Happy almost weekend!

Sydney said...

Oh God Rose, truer words...wow.

Mercy/slaughter rule is so very apt. We're trying to give you an out - an exit strategy, if you will. TAKE IT. You're just embarrassing yourself.

Plans are set, going to see WFE Friday night. The movie theater recommended buying tickets in advance. God, I hope this is a huge weekend for him!

Rob was hysterical on Jimmy Kimmel last night....

and loving all the walking photos of Rob today. Thanks, Rose!!

Hi Everyone!!

angelica1 said...

Rob's been in great form all week.
I don't know why "Wildly swinging that bat" made me LOL but it did.

Hello everyone :)

Freddie said...

Really cute Rose.

First off, I love the walking pictures (okay I love all pictures of Robert – walking or not). Secondly, I love how you describe the futility of the hyena’s game:

The bleachers are empty.
The lights have been turned off.
It's just you...
Wildly swinging that bat...
at nothing but air.
Go home.

I can’t wait for tomorrow to see WFE. I hope everyone turns out in droves and it proves to be a huge success for Rob. He’s already given 120%+ so he should be incredibly proud of his contribution to the project.

If as rumours suggest, Rob and Kristen are traveling to film re-shoots or new scenes for Breaking Dawn, I hope they travel safely and can steal some precious time to enjoy together.

I'm going to see WFE on Saturday...soo excited! Have a great day everyone :)

Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel interviews were awesome, Rob is absolutely adorably funny, without even trying. Love his laugh...he laughs with is all body and he is seriously glowing and looking really just very happy! :))

I Hope WFE will be a HUGE success. Wishing the best of everything to ROB...he deserves it!!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day.

Short, sweet and to the point!
Love all the pix, especially that first one, he reminds me of like a pirate or something (yes, I have a thing for pirates lol!) Maybe its the boots, love him in those boots!

Rob's story about his "snail land" when he was a boy was totally funny and cute! Lol!

I'm seeing WFE tonight at midnight, can't wait!

Hope u are all having a great day, weekend is almost here! Yay!

angelica1 said...

Groovie - I love those boots too for some reason :)

Dottie said...

Yep! The game is over, the war is won, the fat lady sang... anyone thinking otherwise is just plain delusional.

I don't understand the BART thing, but I think it's funny that Rose included a picture of him walking!

Hi to my Roseland friends!:)

Fiorels said...

Hello Roseland :)

I'm so happy for you, one day to go for WFE...
i'll have to wait 2 weeks more... =(
don't spoiler it to much please LOL

Groovie said...

Hey Dot
Hey Angelica - yes! The boots are just sexy or something, its a combination with those jeans & suspenders hanging down & that shirt. Like I said, sexy pirate look! Lol!

Rhonda said...

Groovie- I was hoping there would be a midnight showing here, but no such luck. Have fun!

I love the boots too :)

Hi Angelica, Fio and dottie :)

Dottie- I like your Snoopy avi :)

Dottie said...

Thanks Rhonda, I thought it was fitting! :)

olivia said...

Great post dear Rose,

Love the "slaughter" rule.

Love the "Walking for Elephants" theme and of course all the walking pics.

Agree with several of you about the "boots" and the period clothes that Rob wears in WFE. As the costume designer, Jacqueline West said, "he really dirties up well. " : )

Walking into JK, with the hoodie and sunglasses.....I honestly love how he wears a hoodie and is so damn handsome!

BBL this evening. Hugs for y'all.

MySoCalledLife said...

Rose - perfectly stated, as always. The game is definitely over. Maybe that's why Rob has looked so happy lately? !

I stayed up to watch Kimmel last night and was so tired this morning I slept right through my alarm. I wish 'Rob Pattinsonitis' was a legal reason to miss work. If I keep this up, I'll surely be sacked.

I won't be able to watch WFE until next weekend :(
I am so bummed.

Happy Friday Eve! I am so glad that this movie is finally here!!

Off to celebrate my niece's (Miss K) 1st birthday with the family.

Hope everyone has a wonder filled evening!

Hi ladies! Has anyone read the review that the Hollywood Reporter magazine gave WFE? It gave it a very good review!!! Not like the Huffington Post, but who really takes them seriously anyway? Hollywood Reporter is a trade magazine, my husband is in the business, so I will trust what they say! And they praised ALL THREE lead actors! Rose, thanks for Rob walking pics! I LOVE his walk!!!

real pr pro said...

Little info on the critic for The Huffington Post. First remember how the HP works - its not a publication but an aggregator that posts popular bloggers under a single site. And it doesn't pay them for their material, the premise being that the exposure is compensation enough. So Marshall Fine isn;t a critic the way a Roger Ebertt is -- someone who is paid by a news organization to review films. He is an unpaid blogger. Now, not saying that he doesn't have credentials -- he is former president of the NY Film Critics Association. But this is also the man who wrote biographies of John Cassevettees and Sam Peckinpah -- two of the most unapologetically gritty, cynical and in Peckinpah's case, violent directors in Hollywood's history -- is it any surprise that he cannot appreciate an unaplogetically romantic movie? Do we think that someone who made a documentary suggesting campy and bitchy film critic Rex Reed (the David Gest of the 70s)was the most influential voice of modern film is a reliable arbiter of what the mainstream moviegoing public will find enteratining?
Personally I think he is a pretentious bloviator who is so out of step with popular tastes that the only forum for his opinions are either self created or unpaid. But that's just me.

angelica1 said...

realprpro - I agree with you. He comes across as a pompous,self-important, pseudo intellectual with his head firmly stuck up his own backside.

beacullen said...

Walking for Elephants, classic Roseisim lmao. that's great, and by this time tomorrow we'll be able to see in in action. Eeeeeeeee, can't wait! Thanks Rose.

Rhonda said...

Realprpro and Angelica- I read his review and agree with you both, to the utmost degree.

cj said...

pr pro-thanks for the scoop on the critic who posted on HP. My first thought when I read it was...what a pompous, self-important ass!!! Glad to see I wasn't the only one with that impression! Is there any way to get good reviews such as the HR one, more front and center?

angelica1 said...

cj - Reviews are so subjective,it's ultimately one individuals opinion. The most important thing is for people to go to see the film and make up their own mind.

Super RN Gas Passer said...

Hi EVERYONE...It seems like most "critics" have an inflated sense of self. I will say this..several years ago there was a movie I wanted to see with Sandra Bullock..I made the mistake of reading the reviews and the critics "TORE IT UP". I was so upset and almost didnt go to see it BUT I love Sandra Bullock...so I went anyway..It was called "The Proposal"...I was so glad I went...I enjoyed it very much and eventually purchased the DVD..

cj said...

Super-yes, that was one of my fav recent movies!!! I hadn't realized it got bad reviews! B ut I guess I am not surprised...not hi-brow enough for most critics!

real pr pro said...

Just to show you how wrong a critic can be, here's what the NY Times said when "It's a Wonderful Life" was released in 1946:
"The weakness of this picture, from this reviewer's point of view, is the sentimentality of it—its illusory concept of life. Mr. Capra's nice people are charming, his small town is a quite beguiling place and his pattern for solving problems is most optimistic and facile. But somehow they all resemble theatrical attitudes rather than average realities."
Gee, makes you wonder why people are still watching it 55 yrs later!

Sydney said...

Thanks for the perspective Real PR Pro. I saw the review. I don't judge these things based on positive or negative reviews anyway. Taste is taste. Same with food. Someone may rave about some dish but I don't like blue cheese...so I'm not going to like it. No big deal.

Beaides...he said he now looks down on anyone who read the book. He's just being a douche for the sake of it. He didn't talk about any of the other cast. So he's either doing it for the attention or he's too much of a coward to say anything positive about the "Twilight" guy. Either way...still seeing it.

Rhonda said...

Sydney: Agreed :)

cj said...

Absolutely seeing it!!! Are you kidding me!!!??? You'd have to tie me down to make me not see it tomorrow right away!!! I think Rob will be amazing!!! I hope I didn't give the impression I'm not a huge fan when I raised concerns about the reviews, because I am!!! I LOVE Rob, he is just so adorable and talented! I guess we can't worry about reviews and let the people judge for themselves. I'd love to see this movie do HUGE, it's a great career move for him!!!

Check out this review from the Philadelphia Inquirer's Carrie Rickey -- someone who actually gets paid to be a critic.

Best line:

"Pattinson is both effective and affecting as the youth who pines to rescue the woman in jeopardy from her abusive spouse. His Jacob is a quick study who learns when to tell the truth and when to exaggerate it."

http://www.philly.com/philly/columnists/carrie_rickey/20110422_Action__Romance__Animals_.html

real pr pro said...

And this from the Miami Herald:
"In this long-awaited adaptation of Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson gets a chance to shed his sparkly vampire persona and play a romantic lead with a pulse. The change suits him. As Jacob Jankowski, the orphaned veterinary student who joins a circus during the hard days of the Depression, Pattinson gets the opportunity to do more than brood and look pasty, and he makes the most of it. He grapples with real adult emotions, gets in a few fistfights, woos a beautiful woman instead of a sulky teen, contemplates murder and, yes, frequently flashes a movie-star grin. Most impressive, he prevents any of his formidable co-stars — two Oscar winners and a several-ton pachyderm — from walking away with the film."

Fiorels said...

I must agree with Super.
I don't listen to critics.. and not even to prejudices..
If I had to then I'd never watched the movie "Buried"....
sometimes throw heavy critics to someone who hardly gets them is just a way to get attention..

Have a good day you all..
I just finished watching "Last tango in Paris" (I had never seen it before and was curious about it)...
not sure about what my opinion about it is yet.. o_O
I'll have to elaborate through the night lol

For Rob-We Knew You Would

Everything's Coming Up Roses!

Patti Lupone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vff-gBsyrqE

I had a dream, a dream about you, baby.
It's gonna come true, baby.
They think that we're through, but baby--

You'll be swell, you'll be great.
Gonna have the whole world on the plate.

Starting here, starting now,
Honey, everything's coming up roses.

Clear the decks, clear the tracks.
You've got nothing to do but relax.

Blow a kiss, take a bow.
Honey, everything's coming up roses.

Now's your inning, stand the world on it's ear.
Set it spinning, that'll be just the beginning.

Curtain up. Light the lights.
You got nothing to hit but the heights.

You'll be swell, you'll be great.
I can tell, just you wait.

That lucky star I talk about is due.
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you.

You can do it, all you need is a hand.
We can do it, Mama is gonna see to it!

Curtain up. Light the lights.
We got nothing to hit but the heights.

I can tell, wait and see.
There's the bell, follow me.

And nothing's gonna stop us 'til we're through.
Honey, everything's coming up roses and daffodils!

Everything's coming up sunshine and Santa Claus!
Everything's gonna be bright lights and lollipops!

Everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

Thank you/webuster

Good Evening All!

I'm as excited as the rest of you!

Already have my ticket for the Friday 5pm digital projection showing, playing some distance from me, but which I wanted to see first.
Next time, I'll watch the regular film version.

My bff and I will go out after to a nice dinner at a brewery and have a little fun. Great way to spend a Friday, I think.

Thanks for all of your very informed and detailed comments as usual, so I have nothing further to add right now, it's all been said so well.

I'll be back after I return from the grocery store, to post songs and chat.

Lovely times, these.

What Critics?

I Like What I Like

Cass Elliot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41rkNSYVRhk

People tell me
I must have a reason for
Doing the things I do

But I don't think that's true
Hear what I'm saying

Cause I believe that
Some things are just spectual

Now you don't even stop
And think
You just do it
Like an animal
From instinct

And I'll tell you why
Cause I like what I like
Yes, I like what I like

And I like what I like
Because I like it

I look at you
And get that certain feeling
Oh, it's something
That's deep inside

That's given me the urge
But with no reason

And I'll tell you why
Cause I like what I like
Yes, I like what I like

And I like what I like
Because I like it

shyobahey everyone,
i went off to play english professor for a few days and i'll probably be out of shout until the semester is over but tonight i can play, so
here is what i love about the past weekend [by the way, did y'all see where rob's co star said he was madly in love with kristen and then reese said he is just a 24 year old guy with a girlfriend--that made me giggle]
o and before i forget, real pr pro, you don't know me and you don't need my help but i thought i would throw this out there just as an example of how critics can be: rolling stone magazine gave very harsh negative reviews to the first 5 led zeppelin albums upon their release then in the eighties they listed their critics choices for the top 100 albums of all time and all five made the list, so.....]
anyhow:
1. i fucken love that bear made the trip, no kennels for mr. bear, more like private jets and suv's. this dog rolls better than i do
2. she worked until the wee hours of the morning, flew across country, got all dolled up, skipped the red carpet [total class act],sat with her boyfriend, kissed him, flew back and was at work the next day
3. the dress HOLY MOTHER OF ALL WARS that is the kind of dress that when she says would you zip it up for me', you zip it down and pull it off
4. about the kiss: i love rob, here's why, he loves to mess with her because he knows she's as good at it as he is. on the eclipse dvd he messes with her from start to finish. and then she says "it's ok i'm gonna get you back" i will bet the farm those were her exact words after he kissed her

freddie, i hope your cat is ok

so in the words of john prine..."sell my heart to the junk man and give my love to Rose"

amara said...

Hi everyone
I’m always late to the party...dammed time zones.
Anyway, there have been lots of reasons to twirl lately.
'Twirling' is great exercise - good for the body and mind.
One of my reasons for twirling during the past week is WFE. Although I still have to wait until May, at the moment I am both excited for and jealous of those who have the chance to watch it in the next couple of days.
My other reason for twirling is obviously Rob and Kristen. For some strange reason that I am yet to understand I love Rob and I love Kristen, and it makes me happy to see them happy.
As for reviews and movie critics - I prefer to form my own opinions on whether I enjoyed a movie or not. So I will not be paying much attention to those (except the positive ones...hehehe)
Have a great weekend everyone. To those who are going to be watching WFE over the weekend - ENJOY!
Bye for now :)
PS. - Absolutely love the walking pictures, specially the second one, the one where Rob looks so determined and focused.

Hello, Roseland! I so love the walking pics with the boots. Rob wears the 30's extremely well!

I really truly don't bother to read anything critics say anymore. Entertainment is so subjective, unless I know the person has similar tastes, and even then!
