yeah i can certainly sympathioze with rob with regards to jacob

but i deal with jacob in two ways 1) i see him him as a necessary rhetorical device, i mean if you insist on a love triangle, who else could it be?

but 2)i also try to keep in mind that he used to spend summers with her as a child and she has a soft spot for him because of that

and edward does need to look at the fact that he dumped her and jacob basically saved her and she still flew to italy to save his life. yeah i think she may have earned herself a ride on the back of another guys motorcycle

Freddie - No I'm looking forward to that scene, you know Edward will be smirking through the whole thing!

Hi Super!

Robert - I fully acknowledge that Jacob helped Bella during a difficult time and that Edward's departure caused that, but I never thought of it as Edward "dumping" her. In his mind he truly thought he was saving her/giving her a better life by leaving.

I'm just really, really not a fan of triangles as narrative devices. Hate them.

Hello everyone!
I'm having an extremely lazy Sunday, very nice!
Love all the BD talk/reactions.
I saw the midnight Thurs night with a huge group of people and then saw it again Saturday night.
I enjoyed it more the 2nd time because u can really take it all in.
I swear my mom cried thru the whole thing lol! But then again, she cries during like hallmark commercials so..
I did tear up the 2nd time towards the end when Edward was trying to save Bella. His pleading and anguish was just heartbreaking. Rob did exceptional in that scene.
I really loved the movie overall! I didn't like the wolf "talking" scene, thought it maybe would have been better to have them growling/snarling with some subtitles perhaps? They kinda sounded like darth vader or something.
But other than that, I LOVED it! It got back to the heart of the story, which is Edward & Bella's love, like Twilight.
Rob & Kristen did a phenomenal
job & Bill GETS IT!

Hope u all enjoy what's left of the weekend! I have to go "rescue" my sister..apparently her car won't start so I have to go give it a jump. Fun times...not really :)

Freddie - I was looking forward to Edward kicking his arse, but that was left out of the movie.

Good evening dear Roseland,
So very glad to see that everyone is enjoying BD and on the whole, singing high praise for all aspects of the film. Between work this weekend and grading papers, I did manage to squeeze in a second viewing of BD. Loved it even more and making plans to take some friends tomorrow after school. I was riveted to my seat from start to finish and enjoyed seeing more details the second time around.

I have been really enjoying everyone's wonderful comments and observations....so fun to read them and agree with everyone on most everything.

Yeah Robert! Happy to see you here and hear that you are doing so very well!

Have to say a quick goodnight! Have a wonderful evening everyone.
Big hugs for y'all.
Big hugs for Smitty and Gruff.
Life is good.
Thank you again to cast and crew, to Kristen, Rob, Taylor, and Bill Condon. You made us very happy!

Hi Rose, nice little post and I love the new banner (how great is this photoshoot? Gahhh!).

So, how awesome is BD? :)
I saw it twice (so far...) and overall, I loved it.
Kristen is fantastic in every scene, my favourite little moment of her is when Bella is remembering the first night with Edward, the expression on her face is just perfect, so emotional. Rob during the birth scene... so powerful... I think that little moment is Rob's best performance to date, and not only in the saga, that moment just felt absolutely honest and real.
My favourite scenes...all the E&B moments, of course, Rob and Kristen are just magical together. I hope they don't take too long to work together again... seriously guys, don't be afraid, just go for it, don't waste what you have onscreen. It's not about E&B anymore, it's about you, we ("we" are lots of people, lol) WANT to see you working together again, outside Twilight, as soon as possible, LOL.

The love scenes... Loved the way it's filmed... but it was way too short, too fast and too dark (it pisses me off when I can't see a thing, lol). When we are starting to enjoy it... it's already over! Come on, give us the director's cut on the DVD, more than 60% of the audience is over 21 years old (I read that today, somewhere, lol).

Bella seducing Edward <3
Too funny, but also too short!

Loved the wedding, the humour moments throughout the movie and the birth and transformation scenes blew me away, sooo well done. Also, the imprinting scene was not as creepy as I thought it would be, I actually kind of liked it.

I didn't like some scenes, some lines and some of the dialogue (but those are issues I have with the books too), and I didn't like to see Edward's character being emasculated in some scenes, once again. Big mistake not to put the scene where Edward is throwing Jacob against the wall, I definitely wanted to see that!
Forever regretting the moment when SM fell in love with Jacob's character and "forgot" about Edward, a much more interesting and charismatic character, IMO.

Twilight is still my favourite.
I think it's the way it's filmed, the colouring... Catherine Hardwicke captured the vibe of the story perfectly (the feeling of danger, the tension), recreated very well the environment of the story (we can feel the cold and isolation of Forks) and made the characters look totally cool. And that first kiss... still the most sensual moment of the saga for me (actually, one of the most sensual moments in a movie, ever). Raw, slow, so real... can you imagine the love scene filmed that way? O.o

For BD2 I hope that they make the movie by Bella's POV... the world seen and felt by a vampire... that would be very interesting to see. I hope that all the E&B moments are not rushed (especially the vamp sex, lol) and that they include some sort of fight/battle scene in the movie, I loved the suspense of the "non battle" with the Volturi in the book, but it also felt a bit anti-climatic. And the very last scene of the book (and the saga... *cries*) has to be perfect! :)

I love coming on here and seeing that new banner!

Still catching up on all the comments left since the last time I was here but I had to pop in and congratulate Robert. You saved the best news for last in your post, dude! I was really happy to read that you are doing so well. Thanks for the update. :)

Just got back from my second viewing. It's even better the second time around. I was really blown away by Kristen this time. There is SO much she goes through, so many emotions she has to portray. She carries this movie. That said, Rob is also at his best. His agony and desperation are so very clear. I just really loved it this time.

And bonus...SWATH trailer played at this theater and the packed audience all seemed impressed and excited for it. I heard a lot of "that looks goods" and "I'd see that's." and it does look great.

Anyway...I'm actually going again tomorrow too and that's kind of overkill..but a friend is begging me and I could certainly see it again.

Good Morning!

It's been great reading everyone's comments on BD1. Thanks so much for your perspectives.
Haven't been able to get another viewing of it in yet.
Now, I'll have more scenes to watch closely for the details you've all mentioned. So much fun, can't wait!

@Robert
Such good news. I sent you an email.

@Emilia
Glad you are doing well.

Rest well, everyone. It's a new day with another breaking dawn.
