Rob and Kristen- The Beat Goes On

Make that a LOT of bullshit and a LOT of Foam!

I purposely stayed away for 48 hours.
So many thoughts to process.
So much pointing and laughing.
So much twirling and giggling.
Oh yes.
So very very much.

OK.
By now you all have see the leaked Christmas pic of Rob and Kristen.
I'm still not comfortable posting it.
But I'm pretty warm and cozy talking about it.

Rob's parents.
Smiling.
Rob hugging Kristen.
Kristen holding onto Rob's hand.
Rob's parent's house.
Christmas.
Did I mention that Kristen was with Rob's parents
in their house... smiling and taking pictures?
Oh right.
I did.
It was sweet.

"Show me ONE pic of them looking happy together. This one doesn't count!"

ACTION:
Private picture of Rob/Kristen inadvertently tweeted.

Seriously. You may want to grab something to eat and drink...
Maybe make sure you are comfortable.
Because the reactions
as usual
were fascinating.

REACTIONS:

1. Although the majority of Rob/Kristen fans were giddy
and happy to see yet ANOTHER picture of our favorite couple
being all snuggly and together...
There were a number of people in my Twitter feed
who were upset and offended.
Now...
I get that releasing private pictures isn't a nice thing.
(which is why I won't post it)
But...
It's like people use stuff like this to get on their damn soapboxes
and preach to anyone who will listen
the right and wrong way to react to this sort of thing.
The picture was OUT there.
There was no taking it back.
And so what if it made people happy to see it?
Let's face it...
Any picture of Rob and Kristen together elicits this type of response.
You can't get upset with people for liking the picture.
And likewise...
You can't police the Twilight fanbase.
There are too many people who have no hesitation whatsoever
about crossing personal and moral boundaries.
You can only be responsible for your own behavior.

"Show me one picture of them holding hands. This one doesn't count!"

REACTIONS:

2. Of course the Foamers were angry too.
And by angry they were spewing bitter foam EVERYwhere.
They tried to act all indignant and self righteous about
how wrong it was to release that picture.
How it was terrible and horrible...
and it made them SO ANGRY!!!
(Well, DUH! What DOESN'T make them angry?
That's all they ever are.)
But methinks it was a bit more than that.

Moral outrage that a year old picture of Rob/Kristen was released?
Or bitter anger that yet another picture of Rob/Kristen
spending MORE time together...
Personal, intimate time.
Time with Rob's parents...
on a family holiday?
Yeah...
I'm guessing bitter anger.

"Show me ONE picture of them showing affection towards each other! This one doesn't count!"
REACTIONS:

3. Conspiracy theories.

A. "Kristen released the picture to offset the WFE trailer
that is coming out this week."

And what exactly does the picture do to thwart the trailer?
And why would Kristen want to hurt WFE?
I'm guessing she wants the movie to do well...
Her boyfriend is in the movie, after all.
Why do people insist that there is a competition
between Rob and Kristen?
Weak.

B. "Kristen/Summit released the picture to
offset Reese Witherspoons comments about Rob."

Reese's comments weren't an attack on Rob/Kristen.
It was poking fun at the fury surrounding Rob.
Yeah, it would be so like Reese Witherspoon to
disparage someone elses relationship in an interview.
Right.
Besides the fact that Reese said Kristen was 'very sweet'.
You know...
When she met her on the set of WFE...
When Kristen was visiting Rob.
Remember?

"Show me ONE pic of them kissing. This one doesn't count!"

REACTIONS:

4.  "Rob looks MISERABLE! It looks as though he can't
wait to get away from her!
"Look at Rob's parents... they obviously can't stand being with her.
They look like they want to escape!"

Yeah.
That's it.
Rob doesn't look miserable...
Although he does look like he just woke up.
Heh.
Rob parents are lovely, gracious people...
They are smiling while posing with their son and his girlfriend...
in the living room of their home.
Their home.
That's what is really burning their butts...
Kristen spending time with Rob's family.
And Kristen is smiling...
because she has every reason on earth to be smiling.

Which is cool.
Because I'm smiling, too...
Are you?
"Show me ONE pic of them touching! This one doesn't count!"

Final thoughts.

Yes a private picture was leaked.
That's never cool.
But the reactions were extreme...
as they always are.

Fact of the matter is no one needs 'proof' anymore
to show that Rob and Kristen are together.
(It's been pretty obvious for quite a while now)
It's just fun to see pictures of them.
Ok... so the Foamers demand proof... but they don't count.
(Remember when it was 'pics or it didn't happen'?
Now it's VIDEO or it didn't happen!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

This picture is just another in a long line of pictures
showing Robert and Kristen being a couple.
Yeah, I know...
You fly to England and hang out with male friends and their
parents in their home at Christmas... ALL THE TIME.
Sure. Sure.

But as a dear friend recently told me...
"It doesn't matter WHERE the picture came from...
It still happened."

So keep ignoring yet another picture of Rob and Kristen...
Together.
Whether its Home for the Holidays.
Concerts.
Hotel Balconies.
Vacations.
On several movie sets.
In the back seat of cars...
Kissing, nuzzling in Montreal.
Flying to Budapest, London, NYC
Showing up at Premieres...
After parties.
Going to a friends Wedding.
Together.
Oh but wait...
Those don't count.
;)

And the beat goes on...

"Show me ONE picture of them acting like a couple. This one doesn't count"

This post is brought to you by the letters *T* and *B*

T for TWIRL!

I'm dizzy from all the twirling.
But it never gets old...
And it's FUN!!!
B for

BWA.HA.HA.HA.HA.HA.HA!

 and...

BROTHER!!!!

Oh and since we got a pic of Rob/Kristen at Christmas last year...
Just made me think about all the pictures they will
be taking together THIS Christmas.
Did I say Together?
Why yes...
Yes I did.

Bye for now
♥♥♥

The audacity and mental maturity of "some" NEVER ceases to amaze me. They hate Kristen, What ever, but Dam at least make fucken sense when you foam! Would Rob EVER EVER in a million years be with someone like the way they "think" Kristen is? I mean give the guy some credit, or maybe GET OFF HIS DICK?

I think that it must be hard to realize that no matter how hard you try to be private, mistakes happen and pictures get leaked. Would make me paranoid...having said that...I hope they have a wonderful Christmas this year.

I wish people would realize that just because they do not like the fact that these two are a couple...it doesn't change the fact that they ARE.

Ok why do I always get the dirty words for my security code? Today

LOL Penny

Honey...did Rob's parents make them spend the holidays together? Did Rob's parents make them go off together for New Years? Kristen's birthday? Rob's? Oh wait...I guess it was Rob's parents who MADE Rob go to Canada in August right around the time of Rob's mom's birthday and made them get caught kissing...it was all a conspiracy of Rob's parents...WOW..first it was a shock to know how much power Summit has and now to find out it has all actually been a big plan of Rob's parents!!!

Honey ask Santa for a brain for Christmas Sweetie

The ridiculousness never ceases.

reactions continue... (because it is important for crazies to called out on both sides)

'ugh it's a very ugly house but thank God Kristen is so pretty'

'kristen needs to stay away from Rob, he will hurting her career'

'rob doesn't deserve kristen'

doesn't that sound familiar? just like nonstens..

These are from kristen's IMDB. comments about that family pic. you can google it..

I never understood spending the energy to criticize and bad mouth someone else. Why do these people spend all their free time for hating on R/K. It is fvcking insane. Kris and Rob deserves better fans. I feel sad for them. Thank God they have each other and I believe the haters are making Rob and Kris CLOSER.

I was shaking my head at some of the tweets that came out after the Christmas 09 picture hit the web. As if it's wrong for people to RT or post on their blogs, things said like sick, their personal time for our entertainment. Etc., Etc.

What they are missing is that the person who posted it on FB to begin with was the bad person here. I have a FB account and it's set as private. Nobody but who I choose can see those pictures or posts. Simple. So R&K have a family member to deal with. Is that my business? Nope. I saw the picture, LOVED seeing the picture, and bookmarked it when I need a future smile. I'm not a pap making money from it; I'm someone who recognizes good people and great talent and enjoy the updates on their happiness. True love is possible. They prove it every time they're together.

This young couple followed some of the oldest traditions in existence - no to sex until you're sure - is right at the top. Kristen is a very very wise young lady, Rob cautious about who he gave his heart to, and both sets of parents should be applauded for raising children with such values that are sorely missing in today's culture.

About a month ago I saw some heated tweets, targeting Kristen haters. I usually stay away from all the negative drama, that's not why I'm on twitter nor the news I seek. However, these people I follow were passionately teaming up on a few twit nicks so I checked them out. And all I can say is wow, I saw why they were on the defensive. The haters should've had parents like R&K did and they would love themselves enough NOT to spread such hatred. Sadly for them, R&K will move forward, totally enveloped in their love and deep bond, those of us smart enough to see something rare when it's right in our faces will enjoy the updates, and the haters will... well I could fill in this blank with many negative end results but that would be a waste of my time :>

Love your blog Rose.

Sydney said...

Rose, the taglines under the pictures are the best yet! That is exactly what they all say. You make it so hard for their justifications. I love it.

I saw one nonnie on twitter saying that maaaayyybe she can believe they were together last year after she saw the Christmas picture. And this is a TOTAL 180, considering she was the biggest PR theorist out there. Yes, Budapest screamed work because ASB was with her. Yes, somehow that makes sense to her.

So she admitted the possibility but said clearly they broke up in Montreal. Oh? And how is that? They flew home TOGETHER. Where they live TOGETHER. Rob road tripped to her in LA so they could be TOGETHER. They went to Brazil TOGETHER. They snuggled and held hands offset TOGETHER. They went back to LA where they are once again living TOGETHER.

So, another funny thing. They were all melting down when reports came in that Kristen actually was with Rob at the Battleship party. Initial reports just said Rob was there and the nonnies were like see? They broke up they hate each other. Rob was out prowling. But then reports came that Kristen was with him. Suddenly she's a PR whore and was maybe following Rob.

They're just so absurd. It is funny to a point. But it's also infuriating people are being so willfully stupid. Ah well. At least we know we're right.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm only now starting to recover from the parties.

Hey Rose – fun read. You mean to say that all of the pictures that you showed and that I’ve been enjoying don’t count. How silly of me to think they were evidence of a young couple in love. The foamers really must share the criteria they use for determining whether a picture counts of not…so we know for future reference (LOL).

I am a couple of days late with a cookie recipe, but I think someone said that we had until the 15th to post one before the board shifts to other delectable non-cookie recipes – so here goes.

In one of my earlier posts, I confessed that I am not the best of cooks, so I just wanted to reassure people that this recipe comes from a family member who definitely knows her way around the kitchen. I wanted to offer a more traditional one for Christmas and a second one, just because it sounded good.

Traditional Shortbread Cookies
Ingredients:

1 cup of butter (1/2 pound)
½ cup of cornstarch
½ cup icing sugar
½ tsp of salt
2 cups of all-purpose flour

Put the butter in large bowl and beat until creamy. Mix the four dry ingredients together in a separate bowl – sift them 4 times. Add dry mixture to the butter a little at a time with a wooden spoon. Work it in for as long as you can. Turn it out onto a floured board. Fold over and kneed with your knuckles until it starts to crack slightly. Pat to a thickness of a third of an inch. Break off pieces, roll into little balls and press down with a fork. Bake at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes. This will make approximately 100 little cookies.

Orange Creams
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients (for 18 cookies):
¼ pound of butter
6 – 8 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1 egg yolk
Finely grated rind of 1 orange
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking powder
Filling:
4 tablespoons of butter
¾ cup of confectioners’ sugar
Orange juice
Food colouring

Butter 2 or 3 cookie sheets. Using a wooden spoon, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the syrup, egg yolk and orange rind. Sift the flour, cream of tartar and baking powder over the creamed ingredients and fold in with a rubber spatula to make a soft dough.
Shape the dough into 36 balls about the size of large marbles and set them well apart on the cookie sheets. Bake just above the centre of a preheated over at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until lightly coloured and risen. Cool on a wire rack.
For the filling, beat the butter until soft, then gradually beat in the sifted confectioners’ sugar with as much orange juice as the filling will take without becoming too soft. Colour it pale orange with food colouring. Spread the filling over half of the cookies and sandwich them together.

Have a good day everyone.

You ladies have pervy minds when it comes to these security words!! I'm a little concerned that you may be a bad influence on me!!

I think.. anymore.. that some of these reactions are just people's last ditch efforts to hold onto their fantasy that Rob's going to walk through their door at any moment and rescue them from their lackluster lives and whisk them away on a fun filled, shcmexy fueled adventure where he'll fall madly in love with them...

Except our Honey Nut Cheerio... she's just crazy.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Now I am going to have this song running through my brain all day. Oh well, at least it's upbeat esp. for a Monday. :)

I saw the picture...didn't realize till I clicked on a link that it was a private family photo. It's a cute picture of them I must admit. Love Rob's hair. Still wish that people understood boundaries when it comes to what is okay to post and what isn't.

I can't believe the idiotic (wait maybe I do) thoughts people have about why this picture was leaked. It's quite obvious you don't need common sense to be in this fandom.

KATE- I agree that Rob and Kristen don't deserve fans that say/do the negative things they do. However I have said this before and it bears repeating.

These people who say/do things that are negative in regards to R/K ARE NOT true fans. I think that you can be a fan of either one and not be a fan of their significant other. That's okay. Where people are wrong in their actions is when they hate the significant other.

Well back to work. Had a fire break out at one of our stores (no one hurt) so it has been a crazy day. Manic for sure. Toodles.

1 lb sour grapes
2 tablespoons bitters
One gallon of denial

Sift all ingredients through half a brain with your eyes closed. Stew for months. Top with foam. Serves fewer and fewer every day.

Hi Rose,
I hope you had a good weekend.

Reading these comments about what these nonstens or stupidstens come up with, my jaw just drops.
I heard these are grown women with families, I hope that's not true, because I'm afraid for their kids.
There is something seriously wrong with these women, it has to be some type of mental illness, no normal person would act this way.

I feel badly for their families and for Rob, to have this group of sick obsessive fans, I can see
why he has a bodyguard for himself and for Kristen. The type of hate they spew for Kristen, they are definitely dangerous and delusional. I hope Rob's group knows about them and I hope they know exactly who they are. You just don't know what these women are capable of, it's scary.
And to have this much hate over Kristen because the guy they don't even know or will ever meet is in love with her.
That's definitely a sign of mental illness.

Thanks again Rose, love the pics and I love all the twirling, I'm twirling with you. I'm happy for these two, they are in love and look so happy together. How can anyone not be happy for them.

Bren said...

Right to the point Rose, thanks.

I find it rather hilarious that the haters are worried about a picture, that was taken a year ago, instead of being infuriated about the fact they have been living together as husband and wife for awhile now....moronic reasoning to the MAX..LOL

It is my belief that after being together filming BD for all these months, the bond is so tight, nothing or no one will ever pry these two apart. So the nonstens just better get used to this...

I'm sure we will see marriage and then kids--passion does spill over people, meanwhile we will all enjoy the ride...and of course wish them the Best!

It is still cookie time so here's a traditional rolled sugar cookie with a little different ingredient to it.

Cream Cheese Rolled Sugar Cookies
1 ½ Cups sugar
1 cup butter
8 oz cream cheese
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
3 ½ cup flour
1 tsp baking powder

Preheat oven to 375 F.
Cream together butter, cream cheese and sugar. Add in egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix in flour and baking powder. Chill.

Roll out on a floured surface, adding more flour if needed, and cut into shapes. Bake 8-10 minutes until lightly browned on bottom. Frost and decorate when cool.

If you don’t want to frost cookies, sprinkle with colored sugar before baking. This dough is very manageable and not as sticky as some sugar cookie recipes.

ok here's a cookie recipe my mom liked..

Black Forest Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal (not instant)
1-1/2 cups chopped red candied cherries
1-1/4 cups white chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 375°F.

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat the shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla until creamy.

Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture until well blended. Stir in oats, mix well, and stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10 to 13 minutes or until light golden. Cool 10 minutes before removing to racks. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

The nonsten spin doctor on twitter, Trust_n_Believe was posting pictures of a Kristen and Taylor photoshoot wherein Taylor has his arm around her and she's holding his hand to somehow show proof that the new Rob/Kristen picture should mean nothing.

Imagine if that picture were taken in Taylor's parents house at Christmas. Imagine if there were 200 other such pictures of Taylor and Kristen all over the world together on their own time kissing and holding hands. Would anyone doubt they were a couple? Even if that would be a kind of awkward pairing.

Look at Honey...she tries to believe in Tom and Kristen when there has never been one picture of just the two them...let alone one of them kissing or holding hands. No tweets, no stories, no cohabitation, no visits, no vacations, no nothing.

What the fucking fuck? Sorry, but this calls for cursing.

Anonymous said...

You guys... I think this Summit thing may go even further back than anyone realizes...

I mean, it was a Christmas picture, right? Does that mean that Summit engineered the holiday itself?!?! HAD to have a reason for people to all be in the same place at once, right?

OMGOSH! I've got it.. The people have got the whole Da Vinci code thing all wrong.. and the new initials they think they've found inside Mona Lisa's eyes (naked to the visible eye of course, cause that Da Vinci was a tricksy fella).. they're actually RP and KS..

My goodness.. people have been in on this PR scheme for centuries now!!

Sydney said...

Oh my God, Tracy. You're totally right. Christmas is a made up holiday, engineered by Summit to perpetuate the PR relationship between Rob and Kristen. Summit starts with an 'S'. So does Santa. Coincidence?

Barbara Fenwick said...

Rose, I missed you the past couple days. I agree the picture was private and should have stayed that way, but I smiled when I saw it. They looked so happy, just being together. I am still smiling, I just love seeing them together, and none of the "others" will change my mind or take away my joy in seeing this picture. Happy Holidays Roselanders!!!

Kami said...

Angelica I think you're right...the Stewarts are in on this whole PR thing too...I mean it's got to be PR...after all they have 3 sons and only 1 daughter...PR!!! Summit is behind it.

Tracy...You're right...Summit knew....they KNEW that someday they would need to have a special holiday so that people who had never even been thought of could have their picture taken..which is so intelligent considering pictures hadn't been invented yet, so they organized everything so that in December 2009 years later they could cash in on Rob and Kristen.

Hell I bet if we look at prehistoric cave paintings...they are actually PR pictures engineered by Summit of Rob and Kristen...

Anonymous said...

It's true!!!

Summit means highest point, right?? That's code speak for the North Pole. And we all know Santa lives at the North Pole.

And these 'elves'? Just people on Summit's payroll. They don't really make toys all year, they have strategy meetings on how to globally operate a PR campaign.

The 'naughty or nice' list? More code speak for who's on board for the massive conspiracy.

It all makes perfect sense now. Santa leaked that picture to find out who was on which list this year.

Barbara Fenwick.. it is good to see you. I hope you are having a good holiday season.

The really tough part was the chip that Summit planted in Stephanie Meyer's brain to stimulate that vampire dream, and then controlling the rate at which she wrote so that the timing of the book would align perfectly with the moment at which Rob and Kristen would be ready for exploitation. Summit's perfidy knows no bounds.

Anonymous said...

Omgosh, pr pro.. you're right. That part was probably hard to get just right. And the technology involved must be phenomenal.

On a side note... wonder if they can tweak it and make her finish Midnight Sun.. cause that'd be awesome.

Kami said...

Pro...BRILLIANT!!! of course it was all a PR stunt...the book...Christmas...hell I be Summit is even behind all of us being born!!

Hey ladies...I think we might have accidentally stumbled on to the meaning of life....OMG

Summit has created all of us as PR for ROB AND KRISTEN!!!!!

PR is the meaning of life!!!!

Mary said...

Kami,

The meaning of life...you know how my mind works. I immediately thought Monty Python. And just for you the best quote from that illustrious movie:

Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis? / Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong? / It's swell to have a stiffy. / It's divine to own a dick, / From the tiniest little tadger / To the world's biggest prick. / So, three cheers for your Willy or John Thomas. / Hooray for your one-eyed trouser snake, / Your piece of pork, your wife's best friend, / Your Percy, or your cock. / You can wrap it up in ribbons. / You can slip it in your sock, / But don't take it out in public, / Or they will stick you in the dock, / And you won't come back

Penny - Hilarious!!!!

You know, I think this may all have begun in that humble little stable, in Bethlehem. Those 3 wise men who came bearing gifts having followed that Christmas star. Can it be a coincidence that all 4 books in the saga (5 if we include Midnight Sun) relate to skyward phenomena?? I think not. They explained to Mary and Joseph that they ran a film company in Jerusalem and urged them to take their first born to London where, in about 22 generations time, their ancestor's first born son, Robert would be born. They counseled them to send him directly to their offices in Los Angeles when he reached 21 where he would be cast in a series films and enjoy 5 years of unending PR with the green-eyed goddess of California

Kami said...

Does anyone else think that the snake in the Garde of Eden was truly a Summit Rep who convinced Eve to eat that apple so that she could one day become the ancient grandmother to Rob???? The Apple was the orginal PR Stunt!!!!

please it's not like you didn't know I was going to go there!

As for the Neanderthals, I think we can safely assume that they are ancestors of...well people like Honey.

Hi, Rose!!

I've seen the pic, I didn't feel good about myself afterwards, because it just felt like I was looking at something that I had no business looking at or knowing about, but I am not going to lie, it did put a smile on my face.

People are angry, not because a private pic was released, they are angry because this is family pic and it just show how real and how commited Robert and Kristen are.

Yes, Honey, Rob's parents forced them to take the pic, because Rob and Kristen have no will power and they do what everybody tell them to do...EYE ROLL. Honey, it must really suck to be you right now, this picture once again threw all your stupid theories to the ground.

Anonymous said...

Hmm... do you think maybe.. just maybe.. this debate on the Big Band theory vs Creationism is just one big cover up to hide the truth? It's all been one big huge, ginormous, spectacular, glorious PR campaign from THE very beginning of time. And the apple was the first official PR move.

All the planning that went into how everything in existence needed to be... so the universe could align at JUST the right time so these two people could be born, these books to be written, and these movies made.. ALL for PR.

Amazing.

Tracy, Kami, Angelica: think they realize this is truly how ridiculous they sound with their Summit conspiracy theories? Or maybe we've just given them more to consider.

Summit, which is mostly powerless, must be so amused. They went from not even having a say in the hairstyles of their actors to controlling their every move for the better part of a decade.

Rose,

I don't post much and I'm newto this blogthing but I try and catch your poetic words everyday. I don't know how you do it. Always "spot on" as someone else stated here. I try to stay away from reading the foam because quit frankly to me it just shows how disrespectful some can be. They say they are fans of Rob or Kristen but I think not, because they have no bounders on what they think they claim to know. All conjecture because as you and I know, most of them have never met and probably will never meet either of these 2 people, that are, yes, a couple, doing couple things. I wish them the best both professionally and personally. And here is hoping that they have a wonderful Christmas and New Years together where every that may be LA or London or both. You know because you are aloud to celebrate Christmas on other days besides Dec 25th....especially when you are in a relationship and you both have wonderful families you want to celebrate the holiday with. My family does all the time. I think there is a song about the 12 days of Christmas. HA HA HA. I know that this post is long but just had a few things I wanted to say. And on another note...I love the friendship that some of you share here. Easy to see that you have great fun here.

olivia said...

Home run today Rose! I am still happy, smiling and twirling.

The pictures of Rob and Kristen speak volumes. Even someone with minimal "Emotional Intelligence" should be able to see and understand the loving connection between these two.

The picture from last year that surfaced is a heartwarming, private moment that unfortunately has become public; but is a reassuring sign to all that Rob and Kristen are able to carry on as a normal couple during their off duty time.

Thank you everyone for the great comments and the awesome cookie recipes.
Real pr pro, your "recipe" is one that would make a great poster.

My cookie contribution for the day :)
for SueBee and her need for Reese's peanut butter cups.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

2 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened baking chocolate

1/2 butter flavored crisco stick OR 1/2 cup butter flavored crisco all-vegetable shortening

2 eggs

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cups finely chopped peanuts

36 miniature peanut butter cups, unwrapped

1 cup peanut butter chips

Directions -

1. Heat oven to 350.

2. Combine chocolate chips and chocolate squares in microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl. Microwave at 50% power. Stir after 2 minutes. Repeat until smooth (or melt on stovetop in small saucepan over very low heat). Cool slightly.

3. Combine sugar and 1/2 cup shortening in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until blended and crumbly. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then salt and vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Add chocolate slowly. Mix until well blended. Stir in flour and baking soda with spoon until well blended. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Roll in nuts. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

4. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes until set. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Press peanut butter cup into center of each cookie immediately. Cool two minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to cooling racks to cool completely.

5. Place peanut butter chips in heavy resealable sandwich bag. Seal. Microwave at 50% power. Knead bag after 1 minute. Repeat until smooth (or melt by placing bag in hot water). Cut tiny tip off corner of bag. Squeeze out and drizzle over cookies.

(and fyi.. I giggled something fierce when I typed out "shape into balls and roll in nuts" It's the simple things sometimes that make me laugh)

SueBee said...

Merry Christmas From The Family

Robert Earl Keen humor song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P37xPiRz1sg

Mom got drunk and Dad got drunk at our Christmas party
We were drinking champagne punch and homemade eggnog

Little sister brought her new boyfriend
He was a Mexican

We didn't know what to think of him until he sang
Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad

Brother Ken brought his kids with him
The three from his first wife Lynn

And the two identical twins from his second wife Mary Nell

Of course he brought his new wife Kay
Who talks all about AA
Chain smoking while the stereo plays Noel, Noel
The First Noel

Carve the Turkey
Turn the ball game on
It's margaritas when the eggnog's gone

Send somebody to the Quickpak Store
We need some ice and an extension chord

A can of bean dip and some Diet Rites
A box of Pampers, Marlboro Lights

Halelluja everybody say cheese
Merry Christmas from the family

Fred and Rita drove from Harlingen
I can't remember how I'm kin to them

But when they tried to plug their motor home in
They blew our Christmas lights

Cousin David knew just what went wrong
So we all waited out on our front lawn

He threw the breaker and the lights came on
And we sang Silent Night, Silent Night, Oh Holy Night

Carve the turkey turn the ball game on
It's Bloody Marys
Cause We All Want One!

Send somebody to the Stop 'N Go
We need some celery and a can of fake snow
A bag of lemons and some Diet Sprites

A box of Tampons, some Salem Lights
Halelluja, everybody say cheese
Merry Christmas from the Family

Feliz Navidad!

Thank you/RTAnnamal

Foolish Games

Jewel tears it up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39fQFRIQI_M

You took your coat off and stood in the rain,
You're always crazy like that.

And I watched from my window,
Always felt I was outside looking in on you.

You're always the mysterious one with
Dark eyes and careless hair,

You were fashionably sensitive
But too cool to care.

You stood in my doorway, with nothing to say
Besides some comment on the weather.

Well in case you failed to notice,
In case you failed to see,
This is my heart bleeding before you,
This is me down on my knees, and...

These foolish games are tearing me apart,
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
You're breaking my heart.

You're always brilliant in the morning,
Smoking your cigarettes and talking over coffee.

Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you.
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar.

Well, excuse me, guess I've mistaken you for somebody else,
Somebody who gave a damn,
Somebody more like myself.

You took your coat off,
Stood in the rain,
You're always crazy like that.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong

And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun

And so happy Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one

Just an ordinary guy
But I'm yours till I die

I can't give you anything

I can't give you anything
But my love, but my love

I cannot promise you a world
Can't afford any fancy things
I cannot buy you diamond rings
No string of pearls

But my devotion I will give
All my love just to you, girl
My devotion I will give
For as long as I live

Looks like I won't be going to Fort Myers, Florida for New Year's Eve, after all.

Most likely, will be going there to celebrate my birthday, sometime in January with the longtime, bff, who also has her birthday in January.

I am 19 days older, and for all of these years she has continued to razz me about that.

But payback is a bitch, and we are both now the oldest sisters at most gatherings, so it is a moot point, our differences in ages.

However, celebration will go on for at least a month, just to show ourselves that we still have the steam in our engines. Lol.

Trains and boats and planes
Were passing by
They mean a trip
To Paris or Rome
To someone else
But not for me

The trains and
The boats and planes
Took you away
Away from me

We were so in love
And high above
We had a star
To wish upon wish

When dreams came true
But not for me
The trains and the boats and planes
Took you away, away from me

Trains and boats and planes
Took you away
But every time I see them, I pray
And if my prayer can cross the sea

The trains and the boats and planes
Will bring you back
Back home to me

Find Me A Primitive Man

Libby Holman- 1930 warbling here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZsKfwLJjEQ

Now, before this modern idea had burst
About the women and children first,
The men had much more charm than they have today.

And if only one of that type survived,
The very moment that he arrived,
I know I'd fall in love in a great big way.
I can't imagine being bad
With any Arrow collar ad,

Nor could I take the slightest joy
In waking up a college boy.
I've no desire to be alone
With Rudy Vallee's megaphone,
So when I'm saying my prayers, I say:

Find me a primitive man,
Built on a primitive plan.
Someone with vigor and vim.
I don't mean a kind that belongs to a club,
But the kind that has a club that belongs to him.

I could be the personal slave
Of someone just out of a cave.
The only man who'll ever win me
Has gotta wake up the gypsy in me,
Find me a primitive man,
Find me a primitive man.

Devrait reveiler mon sang tzigane,
Trouve moi un homme primitif, vif,
Trouve moi un homme primitif.

(Find me a primitive man,
Find me a forthright young lad,
Someone with vigor to spare,
Those fatuous beaux they call gigolos could never give me happiness.

I must have a gorgeous beast
To heat up my own central heat.
And he who aspires to be my stud
Must reawake my gypsy blood.
Find me a primitive man.

An Englishman Needs Time

Eartha Kitt is IT/listen here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRLHhVdcGl0

As you've guessed I'm continental
Romantic and sentimental
And I look on love as something of an art

But I've found that nationalities
Have different formalities
When dealing with affairs of the heart

Now the Spaniard needs a soft guitar
And a balcony to climb

While the Portuguese needs
the breeze in the trees
But Englishman needs time

The Italians long for an operatic song
Or a soft Sicilian wine

Well, the French fall in love
At the drop of a glove
But an Englishman needs time

He'll admit to an attraction
But show no reaction
His lips never part in a sigh

What goes on in his breast
Is completely surpressed
By the weight of his old school tie.

The Viennese need a waltz by Strauss
or a glockenspiel's sweet chime

While the Dutch begin
with the bottle of gin
But an Englishman needs time

A New Yorker's needs is variety and speed
But as for the West, their needs are more sublime

At Hollywood-bowl, they need nothing at all
But an Englishman needs time

He will meet you maybe Monday night
But unless he's quite unique

He will call you up around Wednesday noon
You'll get flowers Thursday week

Though you'll have to wait
He may work up to a date

But if he's really mad for you
He will tenderly say
You look smashing today
And invite you to the zoo

When you think is all over
This mad Casanova arrives in a purposeful way

But if he mentions sport
No, it's not what you thought
It's to watch him play cricket all day

Now in Persia, they need seven veils
for a sultan in his prime
While an Eskimo needs a whole lot of snow ...

But an Englishman needs time

Now, I love all those Englishmen
but you must admit, they are terribly Anglo-Saxon

But after all, it's said and done
And the battle is finally won
Baby

Let's contemplate …
Who wouldn't wait
For an Englishman who takes his .... time?

Thank you/gerdenshed

Good morning Roseland!

I read through the comments from last night and those on Summit as the all powerful were hysterical.

Finally! We got snow overnight. It is cold and with the wind chill....brutal! However, in the city it is nowhere near to what is happening with the snowfall in other parts of this country though.

@Bren: This snow bunny is just lovely and I hope you and all Roselanders are as well.

As always.......Thank you Rose!

Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone. :)

Bren, I have to admire your creativity and skill with the wreath. I really don't like wrapping presents, so I can't imagine doing loads of miniture boxes. Your friend is fortunate, it sounds beautiful. Sorry I missed you. Next time!

DK,
You got your pink tree! Good for you. How big is this tree and how are you going to decorate it?

That reminded me of a cute story. Years ago when we had an influx of Vietnamese after the war, a family came to our town and my parents took them under their wing. They weren't familar with Christmas trees. My parents explained and helped them get a tree. When they next saw the tree, it was covered with empty beer cans. One of the young men liked American beer. Waste not, want not!

Gwen and Louisa, I haven't talked to you two for a while either. I know everyone is crazy busy these last few weeks, at least I am.

I'm starting to see a few more people late at night, welcome! DK needs a few more people to stimulate that warp speed brain of hers and some of us are wusses and can't stay up that late or get up that early.
I will check back after a bit to see if anyone flew in.

That is the perfect way to look at it in my book. I love snow and was out in it tonight but we only have about 3 inches. The big storm wasn't meant to be this time around. There will be many I'd bet my usual hundo ($100) on that.

How are your holiday preps. going so far?

@Annie
Enjoy that oatmeal and wrap up tightly.

Hello, White Castle Cheeseburgers!

It's so nice of you to re-visit me hours after we met the first time.

Now I recall why I went many years without the pleasure of your company, tsk, tsk, tsk.

I ended up posting that one song, several times, and then had to delete the extras.

Those crabby word verfs. with their pesky glitches, that I mentioned in an earlier post, were probably English.

They took their own good time, time and again, making me type them over and over, so they must need to take time, too.

Pretty soon, I'll be signing off and trying to go to bed, like I always say I will, but manage to stay up until 8 or 9 am, anyway.

Note: Dreamer must stop lying to herself and the good people of Roseland, on this subject.

One more obscure song....and I'll give it old college try and vamoose.

Let's MisBehave

Christopher Walken totally wows!:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7rseCwM9mU

You could have a great career,
And you should;
Yes you should.

Only one thing stops you dear:
You're too good;
Way too good!

If you want a future, darlin',
Why don't you get a past?
'Cause that fateful moment's comin' at last...

We're all alone, no chaperone
Can get our number
The world's in slumber--let's misbehave!!!

There's something wild about you child
That's so contagious
Let's be outrageous--let's misbehave!!!

When Adam won Eve's hand
He wouldn't stand for teasin'.
He didn't care about those apples out of season.

They say that Spring means just one little thing to little lovebirds
We're not above birds--let's misbehave!!!

It's getting late and while I wait
My poor heart aches on
Why keep the brakes on? Let's misbehave!!!

I feel quite sure affaire d'amour
Would be attractive
While we're still active, let's misbehave!

You know my heart is true
And you say you for me care...
Somebody's sure to tell,
But what the heck do we dare?

They say that bears have love affairs
And even camels
We're men and mammals--let's misbehave!

Thank you/Mattgronke

Good morning Roseland!
Last full day before exams! Hope everyone is ready; then a bit of vacay from my 1st home away from home.

DK, first, thank you for John and Yoko. Can listen to anything with them and the other Beatles 24/7. Next, thank you, thank you for the Robert Earl Keene ditty. He is a fantastic singer, highlarious, a must see in person. Can't believe you selected another former Aggie, a classmate and singing buddy of Lyle Lovett. He still comes through town often and performs at least once, sometimes several times a year here. The concerts are a blast. Lots of sing alongs.

Something also very "Texas" is the 'Tuna Christmas". The first time I saw it, I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now, after being here in Texas for 30 years. These two guys put on an entire theatrical production playing all the "silly billy" characters of an imaginary small town in Texas and it is ROTFL funny, tongue in cheek, and just plain silly. Here is the web site and click on the "Tuna Christmas " link for info. They tour the country and have several productions.

Have a beautiful Tuesday y'all, enjoy what you have.
Love and hugs.

Good Morning!

We have a 2 hour delay for school because of snow so I finally have a chance to pop in. Enjoying my second cup of coffee with a kitty snuggled on my lap.

So happy to see Rob and Kristen happy. I give them so much credit for staying well grounded and staying happy despite the madness around them.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Rose~you continue to make me smile, daily

DK~I will have some vacation time over the holidays but don't know if I will be able to stay awake and hang with you night owls.

Have a GREAT day and God bless everyone!!
