Rob and Kristen- Newtons's Law

Because I wanted to... That's why.

Lex III: Actioni contrariam semper et æqualem esse reactionem:
sive corporum duorum actiones in se mutuo semper
esse æquales et in partes contrarias dirigi.

 The following poem has been written by my friends Syd and Smitty.
I take no credit for the words...
Although I did put a picture in here and there.
My comments at the bottom.

10.12.10
Epic

Twas the night before "epic" day, and all thru Roseland
Not a creature was stirring, just Dk and her band.
The regs were all ready with cookies to share
Awaiting great news, it seemed only fair.

The lurkers were all present and ready to say
That Rose was just crazy, to name a set day.
They picked and they teased, said she was a fake,
Unless she made good, gave them gossip to take.

But what did they want, the mean ones who hate
What was enough, to spare Rose this fate?

The regs gathered and waited to see what it would be
They all loved to hear the news from RoseSee.
Even they got caught up in the hype of this day
What kind of news would Rose have to say?
Yet how did it start, this big epic mess?
It seemed rather harmless to me I confess.
As already stated a friend misspelled his name
He was drunk and they joked, it all seemed so tame!

But nobody listened when Rose tried to explain,
the shit kept coming down, in a strong steady rain,
Robsten is married or engaged at least
We want a sex tape on which we can feast!

"No No!" shouted Rose and some of her pals,
"I don't have great news about Rob and his gal
What's epic to me, will not be to you."
But still the news traveled so fast that it flew.

The date was a chance for Rose's big fans
To give her a gift, you can't find in a can
A day off her blog, to let someone else try
To make people smile and make spirits fly.

Because that's what Rose does for us every day
She gives us a place to share and to play
To talk to our friends and share all the news
Rounds of MFK or cheer those that are blue.

Some hang all day but some just before bed
and who hasn't enjoyed some time in the shed?
The Yanks and the Brits and some Aussies too
a few live on islands and from Timbuktu.

But they all found a place in Roseland to be
great friends who mostly are in harmony.
If honey or others show up to be rude
they dog pile on, adjust that attitude.

But what of poor Rose, who only had joked
About people who prodded and bothered and poked
Insisted her broken e was actually a code
and her every word, took them down a fake road.

Don't people know Rose plays it all straight?
She put out today, as a joke of a date.
She's never claimed insider news or to know
Anything more than her friends or her foe.

The joke a mere word that took off like a shot
And suddenly she was in water too hot.
"My friends what should I do?
They think I have news, I don't really have poo"

Her friends started to worry and felt rather sick
They had encouraged her, with a date she should pick
It started so small, the joke about Tome
Would it ruin Roseland, their second home?

But the friends started to talk and to chat and to think
Rose is so great, we can't let her sink!
So haters and those who lurk and who talk
Go away now, take a long walk

People sometimes mean what they say, you all need to know
Rose said all along, she had nowhere to go
All your theories and plans were full of such shit
She kept saying the truth, but you all had a fit

So today is just Friday, but epic to us
And you can all run and make a big fuss
Chase your tails and try to give Rose a swift kick
but please just "get off of our dick"

***********************************************************************

I don't know about any of you...
but to me?
That was EPIC.
And for Syd and Smitty to take time out of their
incredibly busy schedules to do that for me?
Let's just say...
I absolutely adore both of you.
But you already know that.

Final Thoughts.

1. The quote at the beginning of this post?
Words of Wisdom.

2. London.

"One road leads to London.
One road runs to Wales.
My road leads me seawards...
To the white dipping sails."

3. Christmas.

"All roads lead to London...
For London is Tome."

"I'll be Tome for Christmas."

This post is brought to you by the letter *S* and *E*

S for Syd and Smitty.
Thank You.
It means more than words can ever say.

E for Epic.
Epic for you?
Probably not.
Epic for Rob and Kristen?
Well...
I'm guessing they will be having an EPIC holiday.
What do you think?
;)

Bye for now.

Smitty and Syd,

Your talents are endless. Thank you for an epic post.

There are some recipes on the previous post. Should we move them over?

Melinda said...

My hats off to Smitty and Syd! That was fantastic and gave me a great chuckle. Hope you are able to jump back into the Roseland craziness soon.

Rose glad you have friends who wanted to do something for you because you do something for all of us pretty much everyday. Hope you enjoy your "day off".

I have my recipe for this epic day but I have to post it later when work is done.

The ones posted so far sound yummy. For those that didn't see it, some were posted on the last entry.

BBL...cheers!

Penny- I say yes to re-posting....

Wow...great poem. I am sadly lacking in the creativity it obviously took for a poem that long. Nice work Smitty and Syd.

I'm glad you took a day off yesterday Rose. I would have too, even if you had posted. Wednesday's commenting took it out of me.

Saw on twitter this morning a group of nonnies totally discounting the People Magazine article about Rob and Kristen's romantic nights in Baton Rouge because of, and I quote "People Mag only gave Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 out of 4 stars, so clearly they have been entirely discredited for relevence." No joke. So, yeah, wow.

Hate to dine and dash, but I don't have any good cookie recipes and I have a Christmas Party tonight and tomorrow night so I'm off to the spa for the afternoon to be buffed, scrubbed and polished. Happy Epic Day Roseland. And thanks again Rose!!

Have a wonderful weekend Ladies!

These first cookie recipes are from Liza.. who is off enjoying her own epicness today and didn't want to miss out on sharing with her friends here :)

Liza, you are an amazing person. I am thankful every single day that you are my friend. I love you and appreciate you for so many reasons. Keeping my fingers crossed!! :)

Now.. this first one may or may not be a cookie, but it's got cookies in it, so I'm saying it's a cookie. :)

Rocky Road

125g soft unsalted butter
300g best-quality dark chocolate, broken into pieces
3 tbsp golden syrup
200g rich tea biscuits
100g mini marshmallows
2 tsp icing sugar, to dust

Heat the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in a heavy-based saucepan over a gentle heat. Remove from the heat, scoop out about 125ml/4½fl oz of the melted mixture and set aside in a bowl.

Place the biscuits into a plastic freezer bag and crush them with a rolling pin until some have turned to crumbs but there are still pieces of biscuit remaining.

Fold the biscuit pieces and crumbs into the melted chocolate mixture in the saucepan, then add the marshmallows.

Tip the mixture into a 24cm/9in square baking tin and smooth the top with a wet spatula.

Pour over the reserved 125ml/4½fl oz of the melted chocolate mixture and smooth the top with a wet spatula.

Refrigerate for about two hours or overnight.

To serve, cut into 24 fingers and dust with icing sugar.

Grandma’s Epic Ginger Molasses Cookies

2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
3/4 cup shortening (do not substitute with butter flavored Crisco)
1 cup granulated sugar
3 Tbs molasses –regular not dark
1 egg

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in small bowl.
Beat shortening 30 seconds with mixer. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
Add molasses and egg. Beat until combined. (for easier handling of molasses spray measuring spoon with non-stick spray). Add dry ingredients and beat on low speed until well-combined.
Shape into 1- 1 1/2 inch balls. Dip the balls into sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 10-12 minutes until light brown on bottom. Cool on rack. Makes 20-30 cookies depending on size of balls. Tops of the cookies have an attractive cracked appearance. Do not overbake as cookies will become hard, or as Grandma used to say they become milk or coffee dunkers.

Chocolate Mint Cookies

35g cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
200g dark chocolate chips

75g icing sugar
1 x 15ml tablespoon cocoa, sieved
2 x 15ml tablespoons boiling water
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4.

Cream the butter and brown sugar, then beat in the vanilla extract and the egg.

Mix the flour, cocoa and baking powder in a bowl and gradually beat in to the creamed mixture. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.

Using a rounded 15ml-tablespoon measure, spoon out scoops of cookie dough and place on a lined baking sheet, leaving a little space in between each one.

Bake in the oven for 12 minutes and then let them sit on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before moving them to a cooling rack, with some newspaper on the surface underneath to catch any escaping glaze later.

Put the glaze ingredients into a saucepan and heat until combined.

Using a teaspoon, zig-zag the glaze over each cooling cookie.

Any Italians here? If so, I a sure you have heard of this one. :) I make it every year.

"Italian knots"

Do Not grease cookie sheet.

5 eggs
5cups of sifted flour
2 sticks of butter (softened)
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 8oz pk of cream cheese
1 cup of sugar
5 heaping teaspoons of baking powder

Cream, butter,sugar and cream cheese together, add vanilla.Hand beat eggs one at a time.

Take all dry ingredients and mix together. The add ALL dry to wet mixture. Mix until doughy. (If to wet add flour)

Knead into dough.. ten knots.
How to roll into a knot, roll dough into small snakes, then knot.

Icing for top.

Confectionery sugar with water, add a dash of vanilla and anise flavoring.

Bake cookies at 350 no more than 10 min, add icing after cooled, also can add colored sugar on top of icing when still wet.

That was suppose to say THEN knot, not TEN. Sorry LOL

Good morning Rose & Roselanders......I wouldn’t miss your Epic event for the world......
‘What is epic to me may not be to you’! How true!
Syd & Smitty...Great and thoughtful poem! (But then again, would i expect anything less?) = No I wouldn’t! ;) .....Rose it is always good to sometimes, just sit back and let those who care to help one out.
Although I don’t mind cookies I don’t eat them much. But I wanted to share a recipe that my dear mum gave me and enjoy making. It’s only got 4 ingredients....Simple to make.....and ‘Delic to boot!

Louisa’s Date Fingers....remember simple as shit (maybe not a good word to use) oh WGAS! Lol

I packet of pitted dates, slice dates in halves
1tablespoon of ‘mixed spices’ (the actual spice is called that here, not sure if you refer to it the same there)
I packet of premade Shortcrust Pasty [you can make your own Shortcrust pasty, but I find the thickness variation a pain in the ass.....] so better to use premade...Anyway it’s easier! Lol
250ml or 1 cup of orange juice or apple juice. Or if you’d prefer use a juice of your liking.

Over medium heat place sliced dates in a pot, add juice and mixed spices. Stir when required...Let simmer slowly, for 20 to 30 min and turn off. Till you end up with a thick consistency. The dates should look like a thick paste, sort of. So much so that you can’t determine the date shape, because it’s all sort of melted into a paste....
Once thick turn off and allow to cool.

Shortcrust pasty:
Get a sheet, fold it in half and place the date mixture on only HALF of the pastry sheet. Leaving the other without mixture (the lid). When the half of the pasty sheet has the mixture spread evenly. But not too thick....Say about half a centimetre (5mm) all round thickness.
Place the other half of the pasty (the lid) over the top. So now this sort of resembles an envelope...
Slice the pasty into fingers, about less than an inch thick. As you place the finger strips down on a grease proof tray. Although I find using baking paper on the tray more effective, rather than spray or grease. Anyway as you place the finger down, you twist both ends and those ends will then lay flat on the tray with a twisty sort of thing in the middle of the finger...I hope get what I’m saying.. I can imagine making this as I type and try to explain how I do it to make sense, so I hope it makes sense to anyone who wants to give this recipe a go!
If you wish you can brush the pasty with a beaten egg. The pasty seems to appear nicer when fingers are cooked.
Bake in a moderate hot oven (Fan forced oven 160 deg C) ....for about 20 to 25 minutes....and enjoy!

I see that our British Roselanders use metric measurements. I found this conversion table. Hope it helps.

Here is a general measurement:

Baking powder 1 tsp. = 3.65 grams
Butter 1 cup = 224 grams
Cinnamon 1 tsp = 1.1 grams
Cooking oil 1 cup = 210 grams
Cornmeal 1 cup = 152 grams
Flour 1 cup sifted = 115 grams
Milk 1 cup = 244 grams
Milk 1 quart = 976 grams
Pecans 1 cup chopped = 120 grams
Salt 1 tsp. = 6 grams
Sugar 1 Tbs. = 12.5 grams
Sugar 1 cup = 200 grams
Vanilla 1 tsp. = 5 grams
Walnuts 1 cup chopped = 124 grams

My cookie recipe is from Giada De Laurentiis.

Lemon Ricotta Cookies with Lemon Glaze

Ingredients
Cookies:

* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
* 2 cups sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1 (15-ounce) container whole milk ricotta cheese
* 3 tablespoons lemon juice
* 1 lemon, zested

Glaze:

* 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
* 3 tablespoons lemon juice
* 1 lemon, zested

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Cookies:

In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In the large bowl combine the butter and the sugar. Using an electric mixer beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating until incorporated. Add the ricotta cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Beat to combine. Stir in the dry ingredients.

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Spoon the dough (about 2 tablespoons for each cookie) onto the baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes, until slightly golden at the edges. Remove from the oven and let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 20 minutes.

Glaze:

Combine the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Spoon about 1/2-teaspoon onto each cookie and use the back of the spoon to gently spread. Let the glaze harden for about 2 hours. Pack the cookies into a decorative container.

1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 large egg,slightly beaten
1 bag chocolate kisses,unwrapped

Combine first 3 ingredients and shape into 3/4 balls.Place on ungreased cookie sheets.Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Immediately place a chocolate in the center of each cookie. Place on wire racks to cool.

This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.. but here's my baking entry for the cookie recipe exchange :)

Bailey’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup sweet softened butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup Bailey’s original Irish cream
2 1/4 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 6-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

2. Cream together butter, sugars and egg until fluffy. Add vanilla and Bailey’s Irish cream.

3. Mix the dry ingredients and blend them into the creamed mixture.

4. Add chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.

5. Cool on a wire baking rack.

Recipe yields about 3 dozen cookies.

If you want, you can add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, and 3/4 cup of coconut in when you add the chocolate chips. I'm just not a big fan of coconut, so I always leave it out.

To Smitty and Syd.. I can not begin to express how thankful I am for your friendship. I will treasure it forever. And I'm going to stop before I go into mushy sappy mode!! Love you guys, honest and truly.

Do You Want To Know A Secret?

The Beatles know what's what:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYxzswPZ_D8

You'll never know how much I really love you.
You'll never know how much I really care.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret,
Do you promise not to tell, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret,
Do you promise not to tell, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

I’ve known the secret for a week or two,
Nobody knows, just we two.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret,
Do you promise not to tell, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

Hi! Roselanders!

Fantastic job Smitty and Syd! I'm still smiling, you two are brilliant!

Rose you have two great friends that love you dearly (but I didn't have to tell you that ). Epic indeed!

To everyone posting recipes .....keep them coming! They all sound delish. I swear I can smell cookies baking even though I'm in the middle of nowhere right now playing Santa's elf. 12 hour days are killing me but could not miss commenting on this epic day.

It is my 22 year anniversary today.

Hope every one has an epic day and eats plenty of cookies!

You Stepped Out Of A Dream

Sarah Vaughn sings about Rose:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHuxvEQoTvs

You
Stepped out of a dream
You are too wonderful
To be what you seem.

Could there be eyes like yours?
Could there be lips like yours?
Could there be smiles like yours?
Honest and truly?

You
Stepped out of a cloud
I want to take you away
Away from the crowd.

And have you all to myself
Alone and apart
Out of a dream
Safe into my heart.

Wa-dee-la-la
Out of a dream!

Hi All,
Syd and Smitty, your poem was wonderful. It was really nice of you to do that for Rose, just as it’s nice of Rose to take time out of her day (almost every day) to share her supportive words about our favourite people (Rob, Kristen and Tom). Rose, I’m sure that a daily blog can be quite a grind, so thanks for staying with it and for giving people a place where they can come to chat – and, of course, exchange recipes.
Thanks to everyone for the recipes posted to date. I`m going to see if I can find one to add sometime over the weekend.
Have a good day everyone.

Here is one of my easy peasy recipes I like. You know the saying never eat yellow snow. Well these you can eat and they are yummy! :)

Chocolate Snowballs

1 (18.25 oz) pkg of devil’s food cake mix
1 large egg
½ (8 oz) container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
½ cup sifted powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Combine first 3 ingredients, stirring well (the dough will be sticky)
Stir in chopped pecans if desired
Dust hands with powdered sugar
Shape dough into ¾ inch balls
Coat balls with powdered sugar, and place 2 in apart on ungreased baking sheets
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until done. Cool on wire racks.
Makes about 5 dozen
Enjoy

Dreamer's Ball

Queen loves dreamers/listen here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2kShg0WR78&feature=related

(Words and music by Brian May)

Oh I used to be your baby
Used to be your pride and joy
You used to take me dancing
Just like any other boy

But now you've found another partner
And left me like a broken toy

Oh it's someone else you're takin'
Someone else you're playin' to
Honey though I'm aching
Know just what I have to do

If I can't have you when I'm wakin'
I'll go to sleep and dream I'm with you

Oh take me take me take me
To the dreamer's ball
I'll be right on time and I'll dress so fine
You're gonna love me when you see me

I won't have to worry
Take me take me
Promise not to wake me 'till it's morning
It's all been true

What you say about that hey honey?
You gonna take me to that dreamer's ball?

I'd like that
Right on down forty-second street
Way down down town dreamer's town

Oh take me take me take me
I'm your plaything now
You make my life worthwhile with the slightest smile

Or destroy me with a barely perceptible whisper
Gently take me remember I'll be dreamin' of my baby
At the dreamer's ball

Take me hold me
Remember what you told me
You'd meet me at the dreamer's ball
I'll meet you at the dreamer's ball

Thank you/Fritzes007

Hooray for Rose and her talented blog spot guest poets, Smitty and Syd. Thank you for the epic poetry, and may you truly realize the enjoyment that you bring to the Roselanders who gather here.
Love and hugs on this EPIC day!

My contribution today is from a co-worker who always brings these yummies to our potluck lunches. They completely disappear no matter how many extra she makes each time.

Those Pretzel Things
(Pecan Rollo Bites)
Super duper easy and quick!

Servings:50
( Just adjust to however many you wish to make.)

Ingredients:
50 SMALL pretzel twists
50 pieces Rollo candies
Some whole pecan, whole walnuts and/or red and green M&M's (Vary the color for the event, holiday)

Place pretzel pieces on a baking sheet.
Top each one with one Rollo candy.

Place in a warm (250 degrees) oven to just let the Rollo candy melt on top of the pretzel to hold it in place. Watch carefully to not leave in too long.
Remove from oven.
Place a pecan half on some, a walnut half on some others and the remainder can be topped with a red or green M&M. (Just lightly press in to secure well)
Let cool and harden.

Try to eat just one!

Pecan Florentines

*Florentines are lacy confections that require a bit more skill than the average drop cookie. When baked on foil as directed, they are much easier to handle.
---------------------------------
Ingredients

3/4 cup pecan halves, pulverized*

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup light corn syrup

1/4 butter or margarine

2 tablespoons milk

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F
Line cookie sheets with foil; lightly grease foil. Combine pecan and flour in small bowl. Combine sugar, syrup, butter and milk in medium saucepan. Stir over medium until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in flour mixture. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until lacy and golden brown.
(Cookies are soft when hot, but become crispy as they cool.)

Cool completely on foil.

Place chocolate chips in heavy duty plastic bag; close securely. Set bag in a bowl of hot water until chips are melted, being careful not to let any water into bag.(Knead bag lightly to check that chips are completely melted.)

Pat bag dry.

With a scissors, snip off a small corner from one side of bag. Squeeze melted chocolate over cookies to decorate. Let stand until chocolate is set.

Peel foil off cookies.

Makes about 36 cookies.

*To pulverize pecans: Place in food processor or blender. Process until thoroughly ground with a dry NOT pasty texture*

First of all, you are a woman after my own heart or liver, that is, with those Creme De Menthe Squares!

Then like you suggested, I would drink, easy over ice, the rest, just like in the old days, when drinks were elegant (and I was young and trying to be).

Hope you will stop by tonight, as I'm going to tell my dreaming about Rob & Kristen story. It's good for one or two laughs, I pray.

Pray tell that is....

:;

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie

Remember when we were talking about types of perfume the other night, and I said that I like mine, fragrant and kind of sweaty with a hint of lily?

Well, I'm pickled in brine (or in tequila from margaritas) but did you know that the Chanel Madmemoiselle Eau de Parfum I bought, fits the total bill and would for you also?

"Coco Mademoiselle perfume is exotic and intoxicating. (Absolutely spot on here...I'm feeling so that way tonight.)

The top notes include Sicilian oranges & grapefruit, Calabrian bergamot, that make the ambiance around you fresh and optimistic. (So important for it to be fresh!)

With middle notes like pure rose and jasmine extracts, and litchi, along with base notes such as Indonesian patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla and white musk-it represents luxury and elegance.

This perfume explores the naughty, as well as the warm side of your personality. (My naughty side is rather warm, how about yours?)

It defines the brave & courageous women of today, (what more would we need for courage in love?) and introduces your elegant side, too, (like I said earlier, we must create elegance in our everyday things)."

I am so relieved that I bought the very best perfume for my needs, personality and future hopes.

As your friend, Birdie, I'd recommend that you dump the Kardashian and Lauder you have, into the toilet (nice French word) and join the Mademoiselle brigade.

We will find real, live lovers soon, if we are lovers (#5 like you) of Chanel.

"Sans aucun doute", means "without doubt" but it is so much more elegant looking in this sentence than the English phrase, isn't it?

And so we begin...on this epic day of days, actually late night, on Roseland.

Please, please don't make a liar out of yourself and not show up here as you promised me earlier.

Suddenly, I am feeling a little sad because (Lurkers pay attention and vote yes or no, please), tonight it looks a little to me, like I have to beg for some company!

Maybe some people don't realize that I am (along with them) famous as of 10/12/10.
(I need not explain the magnitude of the epic day and the epic poem that made us so, need I?)

Vote Yes, for Dreamer if you see her as kind of pathetic tonight. (I can take and you will too.)

Or (be kinder to get on my favorites list) by voting No, meaning Dreamer is "all that".

You need to come out of lurking to vote but that doesn't usually bother lurkers at all.

Why, one just came out a minute ago, to say really cool things about me and they are being added to my favos list, as I type this post.

Come out, and vote! It is your civic duty as a Roseland regular wannabe and citizen of the World.

Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

DreamerKind said...

Before I share my very real, at the time, dream about Rob & Kristen, I'll just relate something that happened to me tonight that was really strange.

While at dinner at my favorite local Mexican restaurant, my friend, the owner (see, I've started name-dropping already with my new found fame) told me that his bartender pal W. (mine, too) was celebrating his birthday in the 3rd section area, with his wife and friends.

Of course, I wanted to go and wish him well, so I did and got invited to sit with them. They would not have a drinks on me (rather paid for by me)and since W. is used to cutting me off when he serves me, he said I couldn't have another one either. (No, that is not the strange part!)

Keep in mind that I had only met his wife E. before, and not the other 3 guests, who have all known each other for years and years.

To my amazement, the conversation turned to bodily functions, old and new, broken and working, present and absent, all in the space of about five minutes of conversation.

It was all I could do to keep up with talking about interesting body conditions and frightening ones, because it seemed that all other convos had stopped and I was the primary speaker.

Thank God that one of the other men at the table took pity on me and showed me his winning $10,000 Lottery scratch ticket which he bought earlier tonight. That give me an excuse to stop talking and just gape at him and the ticket.

Then, he offered that ticket to me (it was a valid win and I bit it to make sure that it was real)!

He told me that I could have it because he didn't need the money.

I can tell a trap very easily, so I didn't fall for that. I told him that I didn't need that money either, and that maybe we should tear up the ticket to prove our lack of need.

The strangest part about it was when he said he really didn't need the money, yet he took it back when I gave it to him.

Disaster struck me! Who would have believed it? I so fell in love with him!

Sad, sad truth to face, when love suddenly hits you between the eyes, and the other person is blind to it.

Well, at least he has his $10G and since he is a farmer, he will reap what he sows, won't he?

My field will lie fallow a little longer it seems.

Sigh...

Bren said...

Bren said...

Dreamer,

I was reading your sad story, was this a strange day or what...I kept spinning my wheels all day, and couldn't get anything accomplished...

Did you get your pink tree?

Wait a minute did I just read you added a new band member?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

Now, little star, would I add a new bandmember without you knowing it? My ego is not inflated as I am immune to that (see earlier comments posted as the Fairy godmother).

No, no pink tree, pink margaritas instead.

Yes, a very strange day.

A young friend from Minneapolis, who is a very talented photographer said that the cosmic energy is sizzling in the universe right now.

ITA, as I am having deja vu, up the yin/yang.

Bren said...

Quick, tell us (me and all the lurkers...) Ginny, I see you, come out and join us...back 2u DK, tell us your R/K dream, B4 u forget it...(can u tell I'm being lazy 2night)

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
No, lazy you say, I only see perfection in its many forms of slow motion.

Give me a few minutes to write it up.

How about you share something on the blog while I'm off?

Bren said...

I thought you had auditions, and didn't tell anyone.lol

So, are in love, or did you forget about him as soon as you took the last sip of the margarita?...

A farmer eh?

Dreamer,

Boy are you the ditsy tonight..LOL I'm the one that likes Lauder and Kardashian, not Birdie...

Now I have to read the message to Gwen, and see what kind of mess you left there..BRB

gwen said...

Hello guys!
Its an epic friday for me. I had a lunch out date w/ my officemates w/c pissed off our supervisor coz we didnt invite her and returned an hour late. I know its bad to treat her that way but we didnt planned it. We had a great time though.

Then that night, we had our company party, it was great staying up all night then had go to Starbucks to have some frappacinno and had a good talk and laugh.

I was great and fun. I had a good night or morning, had to stay up for until 3am.

DK, i know i promise to be here today but i dont think i can stay longer since im still sleepy and tired. No i dont had work during weekends (well sometimes when needed).

How are you guys? Pls bear w/ me if i dont answer much here today or bail out, it is either im already asleep again or passed out, lol.

Bren said...

Bells,

You are too funny, Is Catwoman still mad at you?

If you need to pass out, welcome to the club...I have a strange feeling Dreamer is headed in that direction..LOL

Bren said...

Dreamer,

This is not funny, I know it would not take you 30 min to type out your dream.....I'm giving you 10 min, then I'm gone...LOL

DreamerKind said...

Bren

You have the wrong impression of me, dearie.

I do not pass out from drinking because I get sick first and there is not need to do so after that. At least, not for lots more hours.

I see that Gwen needs to go.

Yes, Birdie was Chanel and you the others. Orig. I wrote the post for you both but when you weren't here is said F*** You and took you name off without changing the context.

Who would have known snitch, if you hadn't said anything?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

You are right. It is taking me a long time to write my dream so I'll have to post it later tonight, when all are gone (it is not finished) or tomorrow.

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
No worries, little partier, you deserve many good times and I will not call you a liar, cause you are not, just wimpy and young at partying. ((Smooches))

gwen said...

Bren
i think she's more pissed off to all of us but im not the instigator, its my other co-worker who was the leader of such the idea. We'll just wait till Monday if she's still mad at us, lol.

Ok what is this DK's band thing? Did i missed so much these days that im lost to what are you talking about.

Bren said...

That explanation was hilarious...

So, where's the dream? Or were you vomiting?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

OOOO,oooo, I'm shaking with suspense because it's almost 10 minutes since you said you were going to take off if I don't reappear, and WTH, where are you, Miss Righteous?

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen

Syd & Smitty wrote that "Dk and band" were blah, something, blah, something, in their poem today and now we are so famous, we don't even need to remember what they wrote about us, it is already LEGEND.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

You of all people, the very kind of people, that even one drink just annihilates, can't even mention vomiting to me, the champion of all non-vomiters from overindulging in high spirits.

It is my broken heart, you heartless woman, that makes me slow, while "I shed a tear" over him and what could have been.

Plus the dream story is not quite ready. Get that?

Bren said...

Dreamer,

Before you--OOOoooo, these are the facts...if I'm just waiting for you while you go to the pot, smoke pot (OK forget that part) or even go vomit, I can wait, but if you are passed out, do you expect me hang here? how many hours waiting for you to wake up..LOL

Bren said...

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
What a know-it-all you are....

Telling me that it wouldn't take
30 minutes to type out my dream!

For f***s sake, I dreamt the dream and should know how long it would take me to describe it, then type it, correct it, post it--that would take at least 32 to 42 minutes of real life & living large and writing my a** off.

But you, a non-dream story writer, would not know all of that, so I forgive your ignorance and see your bliss instead.

((Hugs))

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I get your drift....you are pretending that I didn't write two more posts, and are hoping to ditch me, like usual, cause you do.

Fine, leave me, I've got Lurkers to amuse and you can believe that they WILL get to read the dream story before you do, if you do, that too.

Bren said...

Dreamer,

I'm sorry, did not realize you had a broken heart...Now how long did you actually speak to this man? How do you know he didn't want you?

Were there any stairs nearby...you could of shown him how good you can do it on stairs...that would of impressed him, big time.LOL

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Miserable, aren't you tonight?

To say such things to a broken-hearted, rejected, unwanted woman of my fame and status!

Did you read the post about the $10G? If so, I will continue, if not, I will continue.

We spoke for more than 5 minutes, (some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger, across a crowded table), and suddenly I knew, I knew even then. Knew why I wasn't going to see him again.

Even though I told you that I can decorate very skillfully on stairs, and there was a staircase very nearby, he wanted that lottery ticket more than my decorating expertise.

gwen said...

DK
really you dreamed about R/K? Come on tell us. I had dreamed of them too past couple of days but i dont remember what happened only that i saw their faces. I just shrugged it off, i dont even know why i dreamed of them since i didnt think of them or read any news bout them. Strange dream indeed.

I confess i have been avoiding the internet now aside that im really busy and tired. There are times that i just got tired of it and found myself busy elsewhere like reading or just watch TV shows. I only get close to it when i have the drive to use it again.

Now you know why if im not here, even lurking, coz i just dont have it.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

I just may have to post this song,
"Rub it in, rub it in" because I am so blue and maybe (Bluer than blue, sadder than sad!) if needed, to find comfort, even from myself, since you offer none, Bren.

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen

Dearly beloved Bells, you are doing exactly what you should be doing, getting your own life in gear, away from the insanity.

Of course, I can speak directly for Rob & Kristen, now that I am famous, and tell you that real life scoops fantasy. Wise beyond their years!

My dream was very practical and the kind of dream that would be funny/humorous because there isn't a stitch of romance in it, mostly eggs and filthy things about the place.

Bren said...

Let me get this straight, he had a lottery ticket--a winning ticket for 10,000, ...a ticket he had not cashed because he did not need the money..uh-huh...people actually purchase tickets in hopes that they don't win..uh-huh...so instead of tearing up the ticket, because it is money he does not need, he carries around with him, as bait..(we can all smell a non-winning ticket)...so some poor lonely woman will put out hoping he will share the money....some poor woman who believes in love at first sight..some poor woman who is always singing "Some Enchanted Evening"....what a sad story.

gwen said...

DK
LOL you reall are a dreamer. You really are famous now since Syd and Smitty named you on their poem today.

Im waiting for Birdie and Louisa to come out.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Believe what you like, the ticket was real, the love was real, the man was real, the friends at the table were real, and that damn song is real, really real.

Ask someone about the musical score for "South Pacific" or I may have to post it on the blog, for sure to be razzed off of it, the next time Rose has a chance.

Birdie said...

Anybody there?

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen & Bren along with Birdie and Louisa

We are all famous now for I have named names several times today, and yours were announced as being the "band" who were nameless but I was not. (Thank you Smitt and Syd).

What more do I have to do to get you all into other blogs and gossip mags? You know a picture proves everything, so maybe we need to have one taken of us all together, say in France?

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie

I am so tired of them taking off on me. Stay a while, pllleeaaasse!

DreamerKind said...

I hang with a band of looney tunes, IMO.

There might be 10 posts, all in a row, with DreamerKind, DreamerKind, DreamerKind (you get the drift) boldly displayed on therm and no one, I mean, no one, seems to see them right there on the blog.

Birdie said...

Trouble in paradise?

Bren said...

Bells,

Girly-girl, I am so proud of you, getting away from the internet....honestly, the times I have gotten away from it, you actually get a lot done...and I'm only on at night while everyone sleeps, I only post on Rose's blog...today I wanted to thank Syd & Smitty, but normally just at night...

If you spend 24/7, it's no wonder you would dream of R/K, I guess regs would dream of Rose if they knew what she looks like..LOL

gwen said...

Bren
hey remember the lottery number i'd asked you about? Someone already won it, about $17million(already converted). He's a lucky one, just vacationing here from NY and just trying his luck, now he's coming back to NY a millionaire.

Bren said...

Hey, I know South Pacific, after all I have washed a man or two out of my hair...

Don't bother me, I'm busy packing...didn't someone just say we were going to France?....

I will put my face on any mag, that wants me...I'm not proud..

DreamerKind said...

@Smitty & Syd

May I say just how pleased I am that you mentioned me by my initials in your poem, right at the beginning, where it would be noticed, and that I know you did that because I pander and flatter you, every day with songs and lyrics that you like?

No doubts in my mind that I deserved the special placement, cause it is not an easy job.

But I do it for you, Rose and Roseland.

Nothing, oh, nothing for me to gain by it, of course, except now I am famous, and again, heartfelt thanks, unless someday you think that I will say otherwise, for fame is a fickle lover.

I remember the clue Syd gave and I concur that all can be stripped away with celebrity.

Still, I don't live in the future, as you can tell, so yes, I think so, thanks.

Dk/Dreamer/DreamerKind

gwen said...

Birdie, you're finally here!

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen

See, the guy who won the millions has to go back to NY! Then he will need to change his life and those around him, theirs.

It is somewhat easier if you earn the money with your labors and can respect yourself. Winning in other ways, presents challenges.

Are you buying my BS?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Yeah, didn't you wash a fiance or two out of your hair while you were at it?

Bren said...

Here's the script as the band likes to play:

Bren talks with Gwen
Gwen talks with Bren & Birdie
Birdie talks to everyone and no one
Dreamer sits like a lump and doesn't work on her R & K dream story because she keeps waiting for the "band" to talk with her.

No respect for their elders and smarters.

Birdie said...

Hello Gwen, Bren and Dk!
I am trying to read your comments, not done yet.
DK, I'm not caught up yet, but here is what i have so far; you are famous, almost wealthier, under the influence of tequila and love all in one day!

Arare said...

Long time lurker, first time post.

EPIC! Thanks Rose & Roselanders. Since I am copying all your receipes, I should share one of mine. The healthy one without butter or sugar.

Almond Cookies

1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup unblanched whole almonds
1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract

Combine dry ingredients in food processor, pulse until coarsely blended.
In a glass measuring cup, whisk together liguid ingredients until throughly blended.
Pour dry ingredients in medium bowl, add liquid & stir with fork, do not overmix.
Drop by tablespoon on nonstick cookie sheat, flatten gently.
Bake until golden brown 13-15 mins

Aloha from Hawaii

DreamerKind said...

@Arare
Hello! Thanks for the recipe, it sounds good.

Please ignore the crazies on here right now (not me!).

Come again soon, and bring Hawaii with you or me to Hawaii.

DK

gwen said...

DK
you're right, its much more fulfilling if you work your butt off.

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie
Damn straight! You are good.

How about you write my R & K dream story, which I will relay to you via email and I'll dream another one tonight, maybe about Jackson or Cam, since they are very popular in our MFK games as the prime F**k winners?

gwen said...

DK
see i talk to you also, lol

Bren said...

Dreamer,

In all honesty, I only washed one fiance out of my hair....maybe one day I will tell the story...I don't know sometimes I'm daring, sometimes I believe it is entirely TMI...

What would my little sister say after all....

Hey Birdie,

Just ignore DK, we are actually very sympathetic to her being in love and all....

I do not patronize Bells, I speak to all....

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie
You are also famous, don't you realize, for your name has been named, out loud, for all to see, here on the blog?

My Jackson/Cam dream will most likely be about ironing, vacuuming and windows.

Of course, it will reveal steamy, windy, and peek-a-boo facets to my psyche, ones heretofore, never revealed.

Lurkers, come out and vote, yes or no, on my dreaming about Jackson and Cam.

Raise your hands and be counted.

You know, you want to.

"You know, I WANT to."

gwen said...

DK
why relaying it to Birdie for her to post why dont you do it. Come now, maybe you cant remember it now, lol.

well this is a first time. Its time for me to fly out tonight night owls. My eyes are drooping now. Be back tom.

Birdie said...

DK,
I am still not caught up, but did you fall in love with a farmer? Do you remember Green Acres? You can't wear purple boots to clean the barn, but then I bet you could.

Birdie said...

Gwen,
Did you pull something with the tyrant at work? Have you been out partying tonight also?
Bren,
So nice to see you here! Are you the only one thinking clearly?

Bren said...

That does it, I just finishing packing...let's go to Hawaii instead...

DK,

Did I tell you, I think I'm going to color my hair dark auburn tomorrow....I've had this dark blonde since June, time for a change...It's looking too drab...and I'm getting tired of the highlights...

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie
Ah, someone to talk with...

He is a farmer, blond, long haired, rather like Sir Ivanhoe (a dreamer), younger (natch, given my condition) and you can be sure that I would not be mucking in barns, maybe ******* in them, truth be told, but truth is stranger than fiction they say.

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie
Bren is not thinking clearly-she is dyeing her hair auburn tomorrow and she would be on a gossip mag. cover if she is asked. What does that tell you?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Oh, that sounds lovely to have auburn hair tomorrow but please don't let the stylist put that ugly dark brown or black on the nape area-too harsh for such a sweet type of person like our Bren!

Birdie said...

Welcome Arare!
I don't know if it is morning or night there. Too early to think that fast. A healthy cookie, will have to alternate it with all the fattening ones.

Bren said...

Let me get this straight....
You want to dream of Jackson and Cam, because they have salami grandes, and you will be their maid????? Is it suppose to be some kind of quirky dream..

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
Okie-dokie, have a good sleep and don't worry. I don't think Birdie wants to write about my dream of R & K. Besides, who knows what tomorrow brings, in a world, few hearts survive?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Wait! Wait!

You are a stylist! No! No!

Don't do it yourself, you will mess up that nape and then what will your R. say when he takes a nip off of it?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Who mentioned salami grandes, Bren, you did! I don't recall that being part of MFK.

However, I will give you the clever thought about the maid part and yes, that could work, if only I can hypnotize myself before I fall asleep to create just the exact dream experience.

Why don't I live in the future, when we will have the technology to do just that, many times a day?

Birdie said...

Bren, what is you natural color? I like to go darker in the winter. Don't listen to DK. She obviously has the fair-haired on your mind. I love the mucking and f***ing comment.

Bren said...

I color it myself, sillybilly...I do know a little something about hair--remember?

I don't really like cutting it myself, but I might try that tomorrow as well, because all the shaping is done around the face for a long shag, and the back is already layered...I'll let you know how it turns out....

I'm sorry Bells...good night, pleasant dreams sweetie..

Birdie said...

...her mind

gwen said...

one last time. Birdie no i didnt pull some strings on our boss, it was unintentional on our part. She's just a whiner that's all. We had our Christmas party last night and it was great!

Ok peace out night owls!

Birdie said...

Pet patrol-return in a minute.
Hey DK, are you getting the blizzard there?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
That's what I wrote in that comment I posted about you being a stylist, silly!

Never mind! Is there anything you wouldn't do to your hair, other than cut it even though you don't like to, but probably will?

Did I just call you silly? Why yes, I did and please, may I add, Billy.

Ur R A SillyBilly, Muffalump, too.
(Sure missed using those words, they are so apt, when they are.)

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen is getting crabby, crabby, crabby-so go to bed!

We get that you did not mess with your boss-alone.

:;

Bren said...

Birdie,

My natural color is somewhere between light and med brown, or you can call it ugly brown...I colored it the first time when I was 15 and my mom had a cow...LOL

DK,

Effing in the barn, how romantic..you have to be careful not to roll over the poo..LOL

DreamerKind said...

I think I am all alone again and I probably deserve it this time.

A thought came to me, that I might turn into Stephenie Meyer who hasn't finished "Midnight Sun" and maybe never will.

How disappointed we fans were/are about that, well, we've said so many, many times, in many, many ways, on many, many blogs, etc. just how.

Perhaps, I'll neglect to finish my famous R & K dream story, out of sheer terror that it will be a stinker. Don't take myself too seriously do I?

Birdie said...

I have not seen my natural color in years. Now that the occasional gray(eek!!!) has shown itself, I may never see it.

Bren said...

Birdie,

I forgot to tell you, I enjoyed your post today about the Grasshopper, that was favorite drink when I turned 21...I haven't had that in years...brought back some sweet memories.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren

A barn is not made for a romantic tumble in the hay, and poo avoidance is a specialty one can acquire.

Birdie said...

DK, you will never know unless you try! Just how long was this dream?

Bren said...

sorry--my favorite....

I start misspelling and omitting words every night around this time...

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie

These are little known facts about DK:

She does not follow the weather at any time.

She has never had any effect on changing any weather (unless the magic wand helped her)

She continues to be surprised whenever she looks out of a window, wherever she happens to be.

Delightful way to live-no fear of weather or whether not to.

DreamerKind said...

@Birdie
The dream was about as long as...how could I tell? I was sleeping!

The great thing about it was thinking that it was real, and that it was normal, and I was so calm and collected, indeed, a veritable paragon of hospitality, until disaster reared its ugly head and I thankfully woke up, pronto.

Birdie said...

Thank you, Bren. The bars are really good,too and pretty at Christmas because they are green. Putting a plug in for my mom's baking.

Birdie said...

OK now I'm intrigued.

DreamerKind said...

My two cats are insane! I'm half way there. What do they want?

They have fought each other, jumped across the room and bashed into furniture, and now the window sill?

OK, treats are on the way, so I'll be right back...

DreamerKind said...
