Rob and Kristen- I Know That You Do

Why do I always want to say
that I have nothing to say?
I don't feel like I do.
At all.

There isn't anything really going on.
Except for the usual bullshit.
And it's so fucking stale and dried up.

Oh yeah...
Rob and Kristen were supposedly seen on some cable car (huh?)
while Rob was on a plane (What?)
And Rob had another interview translated...

That had this:

There's always rumors about you having a romance with Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson. Rumors about romance with what actress or singer it would have been nice to hear for you?
Rob: Hmm .. There is nothing good about these rumors (laughs). I'm trying to remember someone interesting, but no one comes to mind. Maybe someone, like .. No, nothing comes to mind. Sorry.

Which of COURSE translates to Rob being single...
Or doing his famous Non Denial Denial!
Or hating Kristen or something.
Right.
(I'm sure he wasn't being facetious at all.)
And I bet you believe that after watching "Greystoke"
Rob REALLY became possessed and behaved like a monkey
for 7 hours while eating orange chicken wings.

Okie Dokie.

Bottom line?

Kristen Stewart is better than you.

Well.
Robert believes it...
And at the end of the day
His opinion is ALL that matters.

And I still find myself going back to this picture...
The one that started it all.

Oh yes.

Tom and Sienna Miller out and about last night.
It kinda pains me to put this here...
But.
It's good to see Tom's adorable face
(and seriously...the hat is growing on me)
And well...
There are a shitload of pics online showing
Tom and Sienna in various locations...
Walking to various places.

Is love in the air?
Or are they just good friends?

If they keep hanging out together....
and say...
Start vacationing together.
Visiting each other at work.
Spend holidays together.
Get a dog together.

You get my point... right?
Heh.

I know that you do.

This post is brought to you by the letter *C*

C for Care.
I don't care if Tom is hanging with Sienna.
I still adore him.

Just Because.

Bye for now
♥♥♥

I sure hope my man 'hates' me as much as Rob 'hates' Kristen. That's some hot, loving, devoted 'hate'.

Lovely pictures Rose.

I can't tell about Tom and Sienna...if feels like she's a bit older, but maybe that doesn't mean anything. Are they friends? More? They've sure been spotted quite a bit together...alone. If that continues what other logical conclusion is there to be made?

Unless Sienna also works for Summit and this is all part of the grand master PR plan. Does that make sense? No, but it doesn't have to for hyenas to glom onto it.

Hey everybody!
Its a wonderful gloomy day here in Phoenix, hate that I'm stuck inside at work.

Love the pictures today (and the new banner!) U can see the love & happiness when Rob & Kris are together, all the random fan bs drama & haters really just don't matter.
And rob's words will always be twisted to fit any agenda some of his "fans" have. Some people don't get Rob's humor & witty, somewhat deflective remarks and some CHOOSE not to get him.
Either way, haters are gonna hate & crazies are gonna be crazy. At the end of the day, doesn't change a damn thing about those 2 & what they have.

And good for Tom with his new lady friend lol!

Hope u all have a good day!

Kay said...

How predictable that the interview line they focus on is the rumor deflection line, instead of this one that sure seems to describes Kristen: "I think if a girl is smart, talented and ambitious, then she has a chance (laughs) I've always liked that."

Nice post and pictures, Rose. Always good to see all the sweet happiness.

Happy Monday Roseland...hope it is a good one! <3

Dottie said...

ROSE I love it when you have nothing to say... Do you know how much your blog brightens my day? Hope so!

Everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like TOM. Whether it's Sienna or someone else, I hope he finds a girl who is worthy of him. A KRISTEN of his very own! (Tee Hee)

HAPPY MONDAY Roseland!

Why is it that even when I have a relaxing week-end I still feel so tired on Mondays?

Mary said...

Isn't it funny how things get changed around or "lost in translation"?

I found this a while back about a translation gone wrong.
When Parker Pen marketed a ballpoint pen in Mexico, its ads were supposed to say “It won’t leak in your pocket and embarrass you.” However, the company mistakenly thought the spanish word “embarazar” meant embarrass. Instead the ads said that “It wont leak in your pocket and make you pregnant.”

Have a good day Roselanders.

Rose,
Love, love the first picture. So sweet. I see Tom has lost the beard,I like beardless Tom. I wish others could get the point, always love your logic.
Sydney,
I could so stand some of that "hate". Let me know where I sign up!
Groovie,Kay,Dottie, Penny Lane,
Hope you are all having a great day.

Hi Rose,

Nice post, I love the pics you used today. Rob and Kris, together and happy :)

Sydney- Lol, I agree, I want a man who 'hates' me that way too ;)

Kay- I thought of Kristen when I read that as well :)

I hope everyone is having a great day, Hugs :)

Sydney said...

No you guys!! Rob means every single thing he says. Except that time he said he was allergic to vaginas. That doesn't fit into their fantasy, so that one doesn't count. Also when he talks about his admiration for Kristen. That especially doesn't count. Or when he said apartment and then corrected it to hotel. That doesn't count either. Or when he said he won't talk about his relationship because he doesn't want to sell it. That was misconstrued. But everything else...he meant! Even if he laughs through the question and fumbles on a PC answer...if he doesn't say "I am in love with Kristen Stewart," he hates her and they're not dating. And even if he said that, that would be one of those times he wouldn't have meant it. There's a very specific formula here.

Rhonda said...

Oh, I forgot..I'm loving Tom in that hat, too cute!

Unknown said...

I LOVE ROBSTEN AND ALL BUT WHY DO YOU ALWAYS SAY "KRISTEN IS BETTER THAT YOU" ... YOU DONT EVEN KNOW ME AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW KRISTEN EITHER! ?! weird..

gigi9598 said...

Some of my favorite pics on the blop today, thanks Rose! haters to the left! Kristen knows Rob loves her, screw everyone else.

katy said...

Hi, Rose!!

How in hell that translate in Rob being single??? OK, OK, the translation is rough but what I understood from that question was...the interviewer said that Rob was always rumour being romantacally linked with Kristen (of course, we all know this one is true), Reese and Emma, so besides them, what actress or singer would he liked to learn that he was rumored to have a romance a romance...SO what was Rob supposed to answer to that STUPID question?? say someone name and then what??...have it splashed all over and start drama. And of course he doesn't want to be romantacally linked to anyone, BECAUSE, he already HAS a GIRLFRIEND...KRISTEN STWART.

Hi, everyone!! hope you are all having a great day.

Hugs

katy said...

And Kay, when I read that I thought of Kristen too :)

Hugs

kristinson60 said...

Sydney hit that nail right on the head, if my hubby "hated" me as much as Rob hates Kristen I would never complain about anything ever again. And of course we all know him totally ignoring that she even exists during his interviews just shows how much he despises her, right? I just really get a laugh out of all that bullshit, I really do. I just can't fathom anyone being that blind. Rob looks at Kristen like he wants to just eat her up and if she would let him he probably would have his tongue down her throat all the time in publicity or not because I don't think he gives a damn what anyone thinks or says but he keeps it quiet because that's what Kristen wants & he would do anything to make her happy. To be honest I would love to see him do that one day not because any of the fans want it but because he's just over the BS and just wants to do it for himself & to finally tell the world " yeah she's mine, now fuck off!"

Hope said...

Dottie...I agree...I want Tom to find a "Kristen of his own"...that special someone who loves and adores him.

IB... Happy Belated Birthday to your sweet daughter!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Unknown said...

I thnk it's the easy answer to "blame" Kristen for why Rob doesn't shout it from the mountains. That he is just respecting her wishes. Lets be honest Kristen is the one who showed a picture of them to a magazine, not him.

I'm not saying he's hiding or doing it for a reason, but at min it is something they see eye to eye on.

Dearest Roseland and Rose-

I was told that I NEVER post comments so here I am. I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the first day of spring. Not sure what the latest is with all of you. I heard dk is still the dj, Angelina needs back surgery, and the idiot trolls still show up sometimes and get beaten nicely.

As for you Rose, it is always wonderful to read your words. I picture you, a big desk and kind of imagine you working away, enjoying yourself while you write and stuff. I love your words and you of course.

Take care Roseland and happy spring!!

katy said...

HI, SYD sweetie!!! SO good to see you here!!! I hope you are well and HAPPY.

Well hello Syd! I arrived just in time. Yes,I do need back surgery but I have lots of excellent painkillers so that's OK.I hope Smitty and Gruff are OK too :)

Dottie said...

I must be feeling especially chatty today or something...

ROSE is 100% right -- KRISTEN is better than all of us... for ROB. There is nobody better for him. It just so happens that ROB is better than anyone... for KRISTEN. I think they're lucky to have already found their perfect person. (I found my perfect person early as well, so I know what I'm talking about)

And, OF COURSE they are in agreement as to how they conduct themselves publicly. I think if people would just realize that they are a TEAM it would eliminate alot of the debate and questions.

Stepping off my soapbox now.... ;)

Ah Rose, nice post as usual. Even when you claim not to have much to say, you say so much.

And the pictures at the top? Ah...le sigh.

Not sure about Tom and Sienna. Well, Tom I'm sure about...Sienna not so much. But, I'm not going to hate on her 'cause there's enough of that and I won't add to it. If Tom's happy, then I'm happy. Till next time.

Dottie said...

ANGELICA, That doesn't make you crazy. You have to work things out so you have the time you will need for recuperation afterwards. I hope the drugs help you feel better in the meantime.

I just noticed "Stray Dog" isn't on the player anymore. What happened?? It was my fave!

Hello Everyone and Syd.

I continue to smile at all of your wonderful comments, and it's good to know that most of you 'get' me.
Unlike some who ask me how I know Kristen is better than you.
I think someone already covered it when they said FOR ROBERT.

Dearest Syd. Wow you must be psychic or something... I do have a big desk at work. It's nice. This way I'm not so cramped with all my papers and junk and can really spread out.
Works for me.

Hi Rose,

I haven't posted in awhile but ALWAYS reading, can't wait to read here every day, it's the only place that makes sense in this crazy R/K world.

I truly loved watching both of Rob's interviewed on Friday, I only watched once, didn't over-analyze (tried, anyway). During the MTV interview, I loved the way he was talking about Kristen regarding their differences about acting. I was smiling ear to ear and felt like (given the chance) that he'd continuing talking about here all night. He just has a different look when he's talking about here. I also thought what he said about Mckenzie's "curse" jar was cute.

QUESTION TO ANYONE? How could VF be SO WRONG about the dog named "Martin".

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for my daughter! Believe it or not but TODAY is my oldest son's birthday, yup, two in a row. We were all so happy when I did not deliver her on his birthday. It is important that they both have their own special day.

Be well everyone!

Freddie said...

Hey all,

Not to get totally maudlin here (but I will for a moment)… Rose, I was thinking about this yesterday, so I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you do. This all started out with you trying to work out your “intense feelings” for one of our favourite guys, but it’s obviously grown to more than that. You’ve been kind enough to share your thoughts, allow us to comment and to take up virtual “room and board” here on your blog – and you don’t even charge us rent. In all seriousness, I’m sure that real life is busy enough for you, so thanks for taking the time most days to clarify the craziness out there, while making us laugh and smile. Your efforts are appreciated, and I’m sure others would echo this sentiment.

Hope, Melinda – sorry I missed you over the weekend. Yes thanks, I had a great time at South Pacific.

Annie – wow – South Pacific at Lincoln Centre – such a great production in such a historic venue. I’m sure it was wonderful.

IB – happy belated birthday to your daughter. It looks like she had a wonderful party. Loved the stuffed animal.

Katy – I totally agree with your comment above and your read on the question to Rob.

Hello to Angelica, LJ, Rhonda, Syd, dottie, Penny, Kay, Sydney, Groovie, Birdie and anyone else I have missed and will post later.

Have a good day everyone.

Sydney said...

Isn't that just the point though. Kristen is better than you...and therein lies the problem...with her in the picture...why the hell would Rob look elsewhere.

I can't believe some of the things people are saying about Sienna. Personally, since I've never met her, nor do I know anyone who has, I will reserve judgement. Especially since I'm no Saint and in positively NO position to judge.

Hello to Rose and Syd. There's always a different atmosphere here when you two post! Or Smitty and Gruff of course, whom I hope are doing well.

angelica1 said...

Freddie - I agree with you 100%.

IB - Happy birthday to your son and your daughter is beautiful :)

Rhonda said...

Hi Freddie- Well said, couldn't agree more!

IB- Happy birthday to your son :)

Hope to talk with everyone later :)

*I*Believe* said...

Hi Freddie and Anglica~Thank you both for the kind wishes!

angelica1 said...

Sydney - You're right, I was trying not to bite in relation to the Sienna comment but the comment is pretty vile. I only know of her what the UK tabloids print and frankly most are up there with the National Enquirer for accuracy. Tom seems to have good taste in friends and since he actually knows her, perhaps so called "fans" should respect his choice. God why does that sound so familiar.....?

Hope said...

Hi Angelica...I agree...Kristen is a saint.

Rose...you are a saint too. And totally 'get you'...this is why you are so beloved.

well, Happy Birthday to your son too.
Yes...of course 2 parties, 2 cakes...FUN!!

Sweet pictures/post today Rose about a sweet couple.

Gotta follow up with Kay's comment about what kind of woman Rob is attracted to with a quote by Kristen about herself: "I choose things that are so overly ambitious, and if I can’t do stuff like that, I don’t want to be doing this."

Rob talked about his reasons for acting during the MTV interview and they are much like Kristen's above.

Peas and carrots, bread and butter...get my drift???

Tom and Sienna- I'm getting a friend vibe but if it's more, then I hope he's happy. That's all I'll say about that.

SYD- Glad you popped by for a second. Happy Spring to you and I hope things are going well.

FREDDIE- Glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm looking forward to it now since you liked it. I was the stage manager for a production of South Pacific at my high school so it brings back memories.

ANGELICA- Can I just say I love some of the words that British people use? Today it's diary. Hope that back of yours isn't giving you to much trouble as you wait this thing out.

TO EVERYONE ELSE- Happy Monday to you! Hope you all have had a great start to your week!

Rhonda said...

Hi Hope :)

Angelica, Sydney and Melinda- I agree with your Tom and Sienna comments :)

Dottie said...

FREDDIE - Your comment about what Roseland means to you was very sweet. It took me a long time to finally de-lurk, but I stumbled on this place a yr or so ago. I was going through a very low period (my mother had passed away after a long illness) and I think I must have been searching for some kind of distraction or something "happy" to focus on that was outside of my everyday life.

ROSE probably has no idea how many people she has helped just by simply sharing her thoughts. It's kind of amazing when you think about it.

Sorry for being too chatty! I don't know what's gotten into me today. Must be Spring Fever!

Good afternoon dear Rose and Roseland,

Great new banner and wonderful post today. Thank you Rose. It is always such a nice treat to steal away a few minutes to visit, read your latest words of sanity amidst the insanity, and enjoy your marvelous selection of pics.

Rolange, love your comment about the first pic,
"le sigh". It truly is such a sweet picture of Rob and Kristen. It is one that I could imagine framed, sitting atop a piano or mantle.

IB, a very Happy Birthday to your precious 10 year old daughter. What a cutie pie.

**Wave** to Syd. Take care and enjoy life!

Lots of great comments today. I, as several others, immediately thought of a a very special
smart ( check mark for Kristen),
intelligent ( check mark for Kristen),
and ambitious ( check mark for Kristen)
young woman.

In addition, Rose you were spot on to say that "Kristen is better than you" .....
for Rob of course!

Sweet Tom, just like Rob and Kristen.....if he is happy, I'm so very happy for him.

Pile on more happy for y'all, fellow Roselanders, who have had wonderful trips, lovely theatre shows, and memorable family milestones.
Hugs for y'all.
Hugs too, for Smitty and Gruff.

RL calls. Spring Break is officially over. It was nice while it lasted, but it sure did fly by quickly. One of these years, when I grow up, I may finally graduate and not have to mark the year by school vacations! : )
But then, what would I do without homework?
JK, of course! : )

Hey everyone!

Hi Angelica, hope you're loving this sunshine as much as me! You're right about the papers, they just use sensationalism to sell as many copies as possible. The fact that anyone would judge people personally by what they read in the papers is ridiculous.

If anyone judged me by something which had been written by someone who had never met me, I would be very disappointed.

None of us are perfect...and I am thankful that I'm not, because what a fucking boring life that would be!

Much love,
Liza

Freddie said...

Hey Rhonda, we must have been posting at the same time, and we were thinking pretty much the same thing at the same time – again.

IB – wow, two birthdays in a row – just to keep you busy. I hope your son is having a great day.

Hey Angelica – stay well with that back. I can understand your desire to work around your work. I’m sure your company appreciates that and will miss you when you are off.

Sydney – I agree re: Sienna. All we know is what we see in the press and we all know how accurate that is.

Hope – nice to “see” you. The girl who played Nelly Forbush the other night was from Houston, so I thought of you and Olivia. She was very good.

Melinda – I think you will really enjoy it. I guess South Pacific was a popular play for High Schools to do.

dottie – I’m glad Roseland was a needed distraction at a difficult time.

Hey Liza and Olivia – I hope you are both well.

Rhonda said...

Liza- well stated! I couldn't possibly begin to name my own faults, as that would go on for days :)

Well I guess you'd say,
What can make me feel this way?

My girl, my girl, my girl.
Talkin' 'bout my girl.
My girl!

I've got so much honey,
The bees envy me.

I've got a sweeter song,

Well, I guess you'd say,

Do you hear me
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams

I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this

Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you,
I will

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet

You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair

Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see

As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

Gravity

Sara Bareilles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0x7CN7NhS8

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.

No matter what I say or do
I'll still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone.

You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.

I never wanted anything so much
Than to drown in your love
And not feel your rain.

Set me free, leave me be.
I don't want to fall
Another moment into your gravity.

Here I am and I stand so tall
Just the way I'm supposed to be.

But you're on to me
And all over me.

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.

But you touch me for a little while
And all my fragile strength is gone.

I live here on my knees
As I try to make you see

That you're everything
I think I need here on the ground.

But you're neither friend nor foe
Though I can't seem to let you go.

The one thing that I still know
Is that you're keeping me down

Thank you/ChicaTeW

I'm so excited for your grandbaby to be here! I live vicariously through you, to be a grandmother myself.

My poor mother suffered a breech birth with me, way back when horses pulled wagons..so great that times have changed, for the better for mothers.

And, maybe the bambino will twirl and twiggle, back into position.

Keep on dreamin'. It could happen.

Stuck On You

Elvis Presley:

You can shake an apple
Off an apple tree

Shake-a, shake-sugar
But you'll never shake me
Uh-uh-uh

No-sir-ee, uh, uh
I'm gonna stick like glue

Stick because I'm
Stuck on you

Gonna run my fingers
Through your long black hair

Squeeze you tighter than a grizzly bear
Uh-uh-uh

Yes-sir-ee, uh, uh
I'm gonna stick like glue

Stick, because I'm
Stuck on you

Hide in the kitchen
Hide in the hall

Ain't gonna do you no good at all
'Cause once I catch ya and the kissin' starts

A team o' wild horses couldn't tear us apart

Try to take a tiger from his daddy's side

That's how love is gonna keep us tied
Uh-uh-uh

Yes-sir-ee, uh,uh
I'm gonna stick like glue

Stick, because I'm
Stuck on you

Well, I'm the guy walking around crooked because of all of the birthday cake and ice cream. Guess I need a V-8 :)

Answer me back, if you can, cause you are probs. at work now.

It was a 5.7 magnitude quake and that is pretty strong, even if you are used to it. So pleased to hear no damages, etc.

For Our Children

The Things We've Handed Down

Marc Cohn:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqyc7lWi9xc&feature=related

Don't know much about you
Don't know who you are
We've been doing fine without you
But, we could only go so far

Don't know why you chose us
Were you watching from above
Is there someone there that knows us
Said we'd give you all our love

Will you laugh just like your mother
Will you sigh like your old man
Will some things skip a generation
Like I've heard they often can

Are you a poet or a dancer
A devil or a clown
Or a strange new combination of
The things we've handed down

I wonder who you'll look like
Will your hair fall down and curl
Will you be a mama's boy
Or daddy's little girl

Will you be a sad reminder
Of what's been lost along the way
Maybe you can help me find her
In the things you do and say

And these things that we have given you
They are not so easily found
But you can thank us later
For the things we've handed down

You may not always be so grateful
For the way that you were made
Some feature of your father's
That you'd gladly sell or trade

And one day you may look at us
And say that you were cursed
But over time that line has been
Extremely well rehearsed

By our fathers, and their fathers
In some old and distant town
From places no one here remembers
Come the things we've handed down

Thank you/lvelev

Stories?

Hmm, nothing is coming to mind tonight. There are many, and yet none at all. For they are the life I've lived or the one I'd like to have, or will.

They are the great unknown factors we all juggle, like spinning plates.

One fun thing, a Chicago band, called Howard & The White Boys will be playing nearby soon, on April 1st, for the Fool's Day celebration.

You know which fool that you know, will be there for them and herself?

We Americans have so many great days to celebrate but I am very partial to the Fool's Day. Trick me please, fool me, and make me squee!

I Was Only Joking

Rod Stewart:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7fuQ116QSg

Ever since I was a kid at school
I messed around with all the rules
Apologised then realised
I'm not different after all

Me and the boys thought we had it sussed
Valentinos all of us
My dad said we looked ridiculous
But boy we broke some hearts

In and out of jobs, running free
Waging war with society
Dumb blank faces stare back at me
But nothing ever changed

Promises made in the heat of the night
Creeping home before it got too light
I wasted all that precious time
and blamed it on the wine

I was only joking my dear
Looking for a way to hide my fear
What kind of fool was I
I could never win

Never found a compromise
Collected lovers like butterflies
Illusions of that grand first prize
Are slowly wearing thin

Susy baby you were good to me
Giving love unselfishly
But you took it all too seriously
I guess it had to end

Now you ask me if I'm sincere
That's the question that I always fear
Verse seven is never clear
But I'll tell you what you want to hear

I try to give you all you want
But giving love is not my strongest point
If that's the case it's pointless going on
I'd rather be alone

'Cause what I'm doing must be wrong
Pouring my heart out in a song
Owning up for prosperity
For the whole damn world to see

Quietly now while I turn a page
Act one is over without costume change
The principal would like to leave the stage
The crowd don't understand

Thank you/reynaldoarceo

gwen said...

Ok when is april fools day? I may think of pulling some pranks for my friends lol

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
April 1st is April Fool's Day! Pranks are fun, but not if they frighten you too much, only if they are truly funny.

I used to prank my older sister and brother by telling them our mother said to come home, right now.

We lived half a block away from the park where we were, so they ran home full tilt, only to find out that Mom didn't call them home.

They were mad at me, you bet and said that they would never believe me again, if I told them they have to go home.

Fine, I could wait. Wait I did. In a few months, they had forgotten my prank, and I did it again, making it seem like Mom was mad at them, so they'd better hurry home.

They laughed and mocked me but after a little while, they got worried about Mom being mad, so they ran home at top speed.

Once again, they were spitting fire at me. I was so scared of them that time, that I didn't even try that prank again, for a whole year!

Some people never learn. Me or them? You decide.

gwen said...

DK- LOL you were a bad sister. I imagine them running home fast and didnt even catch their breath only to know it was just a joke. It was funny though, i did that to my brothers also no reason at all, i just like doing it to them. I should watch myself then by that day maybe it is me theyre pulling pranks on. There are times i am so gullible :)

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
When I was a child, my Uncle C. used to call me "Little Iodine" and seemed very amused about it.

Iodine is essential to the body, but if you use a liquid form of it to sanitize cuts, it stings, sometimes a lot.

Back then, there was also a comic strip character of the same name. Here are a couple of wikipedia quotes from Jimmy Hatlo, about his creation, "Little Iodine":

"Her purpose was to serve as a pesky nuisance to the strip's star, Henry, and her behavior caused endless misery for her mild-mannered, easily unsettled father."

"I tried to make her the embodiment of all the brats I knew... I tried to make her naughty as hell—and still likable."

After reading those quotes, I get a better idea of why my uncle nicknamed me that. (Maybe you do, too.)

My siblings may call me "Little Iodine" once in a while, even now. That tickles me silly, but perhaps they still feel my sting.

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!"

Me and Ali, kindred spirits!

gwen said...

DK- LOL that nickname sure is so apt then. Hmmm maybe you're still "Little Iodine" at times ;)

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
Bad sister? That's harsh, girlie.

I only wanted their love and they weren't giving it to the one they called "a stinker". Me!

Why they called me that, do we really want to know? I do know the name calling started when I was very young, and still in diapers. Imagine that!

Calling me "a stinker" went on for years and years, without rhyme or reason, with no diapers needed anymore.

Come on, we all bathed at least once a week, whether we needed it or not!

Some people just like to call other people names. That can work both ways.

If the one being called names first, is later old enough to talk, and carry tales about the name callers to Mom...well, so it went.

"Sticks and stones, make break my bones, but names will never hurt me!"

But we know, it all hurts.

I forgive them now, ain't I sweet? There should be a comic strip character about, "Sweet Dreamer", oh, yes...

gwen said...

DK- wow you do had many nicknames: "little iodine" "stinker", what else? ;-D

gwen said...

DK- i'll be back a in minute.

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
Don't let your siblings read these posts, for they will prank you, if you are gullible.

Believe it or not, I used to be gullible, too.

My sister S. and brother G, were too busy playing or too lazy to walk 4 blocks each way, to the local malt shop, to get some malts for themselves.

They came up with a scheme for me to get them, and they said I would earn some small change for doing that.

We lived next to a candy store and believe me, small change bought a lot of penny candies, which I would, of course, not share.

I agreed, without knowing how much they would give me beforehand, but I thought that maybe 10 or 20 cents would be fair for carrying them all of the way back. Foolish me.

They gave me 2 cents each and I was hopping mad, but didn't show it, cause by then I had made a plan.

Next week, after we got our allowances from the parents, I was asked to make another malt shop trip.

This time, on the way home, I took my fairshare. Those malteds were usually in waxpaper cups and filled up to the brim.

However, there was below the brim, a "fill to here" line, that was where the soda jerk was supposed to fill them to.

My bright idea was to drink down each malt, to that "fill to here" line, while walking home, not getting caught and enjoying the extra, on the many, many trips I made for them.

Do you think they ever caught on?

No, they did not and were very surprised a couple of years ago, when I told them what I had done, so many years ago.

You should have been there to watch how their jaws dropped, mouths opened, and how steamed they got after I told them.

Laughter shakes me now! Picture the three of us, all in our sixties, reacting to childhood offenses, as if they are still happening today. I know you can.

Anyone hankering for a vanilla or chocolate malt right now? Steak n' Shake is open 24/7, yes?

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
I told you earlier that I didn't have any stories in mind, didn't I?

That's how this mind of mine works. I observe that nothing is there, and boom, it fills up!

Call my stories tripe or delight, but they popped out, regardless of any name calling, or in spite of it, or maybe because of it.

Here I go loopty-loo!

These people that still keep on denying that Rob and Kristen are a couple are just not in denial, they just want to piss off we R/K fans. They know the truth but they choose to ignore what is in front of their faces. Also everyone keeps forgetting that if Kristen did not have that amazing first time impression/chemistry with Rob when he first auditioned for Twilight, they wouldn't be going crazy about him and hating on her. If she chose another guy, let's say for arguments sake she had chemistry with Shiloh Fernandez and not Rob, I wonder if the backlash of delutional fans would have been as crazy. So instead of hating KRISTEN, they should be loving her and thanking her that she brought to light this gorgeous, amazing looking guy named Robert Pattinson whom she had instant chemistry with and told Catherine Hardwicke it has to be Rob! Just don't forget that she made it happen!

Good Afternoon!

I was at a conference today and should have brought toothpicks to hold my eyes open...I never sit at school so sitting was very difficult for me.

I am sorry I missed the penny candy discussion. We used to get one nickel each school day lunch hour so that would get us 5 pieces of candy. We used to get the flying sauces that were wafers with candy beads in them, rootbeer barrels, green leafs, Tootsie rolls, and pretzel rods from the big jar on top of the counter. I loved the nickel bottle of Coke too!

Also, I grew up near a bakery. We would smell rye bread and sweets baking all day while we were in school. For 25 cents, we would buy a loaf of bread and just sit on the bakery loading dock and eat hunks of warm bread....I can still remember the smell:)

Aw, I kinda miss small town America:(

Lawd have mercy
We're movin' on up (movin' on up)

We're living proof and always alert
That we're two from the good black earth
And we're a winner
And everybody knows it too

We'll just keep on pushin'
Like your leaders tell you to
At last that blessed day has come
And I don't care where you come from

I don't mind leavin' here
To show the world we have no fear
'Cause we're a winner
And everybody knows it too

At last that blessed day has come
And I don't care where you come from

Lawd, baby
Everybody
Hey, you know we're movin' on up
We're a winner

Thank you/thepowderedclouds

REPOST-HMM, MY MONIKER WAS WRONG!

Good evening, Rose & Roselanders!

@Kenzz
I did it for Gwen and you, my fangirlies.

@Super
I agree, away with the flannel, on with the lacey cottons!

Heard that bamboo is the best, most renewable, breathable, natural fabric for everything, we wear and use, but don't eat it.

Word verf: cowsups cow sups
A cow sups on feed and grass, not bamboo either.

Without You

Manfred Mann:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YEjSUmDEWQ

Just a hunk o' steel
Yeah and just a plank o' wood
Give a little bit of bad lu-uck
Mmm, just a bit o' goo-ood

I could be so happy
With this life of mine
But you know I'm so sad baby
So sa-ad, all the ti-i-ime

That's why life baby-y, oh yeah-eah-eah
It's no good without you

Really, now son
Yeah, yeah that's my life baby-y
Mmm, it's no good without you

Let me tell you 'bout it now
I ain't got no money
I can't find no work
I couldv'e been a good man
Mmm-yeah, a good man and not a jerk

If things could've been different
We could'a had some changes made
But you went away child
Lord knows, you should've stay-ay-ayed

That's my life baby-y
Oh-oh yeah-eah-eah, it's no good without you

Simply The Best

Tina Turner:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIrCFrFpHvw

I call you when I need you, my heart's on fire
You come to me, come to me wild and wired

When you come to me
Give me everything I need

Give me a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams
Speak a language of love like you know what it means

And it can't be wrong
Take my heart and make it strong baby

You're simply the best, better than all the rest
Better than anyone, anyone I've ever met

I'm stuck on your heart, and hang on every word you say
Tear us apart, baby I would rather be dead

In your heart I see the star of every night and every day
In your eyes I get lost, I get washed away

Just as long as I'm here in your arms
I could be in no better place

You're simply the best, better than all the rest
Better than anyone, anyone I've ever met

Each time you leave me I start losing control
You're walking away with my heart and my soul

I can feel you even when I'm alone
Oh baby, don't let go

Thank you/NightSpeaker

Yo Mama,

A song for Rob and Kristen...just because.

You Are The First, My Last, My Everything--by Barry White

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fcd3XuQwDQQ

See you in about 45..

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Love that song, for them, and us all.

I'm going to get something sparkling to drink. See you soon.

DK

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Well, it isn't sparkling after all but rather named after a fab part of NYC-Manhattan. Yummy.

Here I am.

How are you tonight?

Bren said...

I got home feeling hungry...as usual...

I'm eating kumquat, but they're not too sweet, kind of bitter actually...

How was your day?

Bren said...

I spoke to someone in Vancouver yesterday, and she was telling me it was raining again, and expect rain off and on all week....I wonder if they will finish filming BD on time...the weather has been atrocious since they got there.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I read on RA that the filming is still on schedule, but who knows?

I am having some sea-salted almonds and that Manhattan. And, I am changing over my wallet to a new one, so tedious. Pretty new wallet though.

Bren said...

I am totally addicted to potato chips w/sea salt...

Now I am wanting smoked almonds...gonna look for some...

brb

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Great minds are aligned-like ours!

Today I got some Olive Oil and Sea Salt Potato Chips from Good Health Natural Products for Greensboro, NC and they are terrific.

They would then be extremely healthy and natural, right?

Let me taste a few, just so I can recall how good they were...

Bren said...

All I could find was cashews and cocktail peanuts...no almonds, darn...I will definitely have to try the almonds with sea salt...

Have never tried a Manhattan, what's in it?...

Really? BD is on schedule? Glory be, that's wonderful...I bet they are exhausted, 2 movies at the same time, is no easy feat.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
The trouble with potato chips and me, is that I want a beer(s) to go along with them, and sadly, I am out of beer.

Might have to have some red wine for Dr. OZ says we must have 3-4 glasses per night. Even I am hard-pressed to drink that many-with potato chips that is.

If I am out to dinner and having a veritable feast of soup, salad and beast, then 4 glasses are less of a problem, and more of an answer to my prayers.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Manhattans are not for the faint-hearted for they do the trick, making one at ease immediately after finishing 1/2, and making one dare to have one more! Again, sadly I am out of the liquors for making another...

I mixed Crown Royal Whiskey, dry vermouth, fresh lemon w/peel, water and ice (now out of ice, damn).

So wine is next, if we last here or you go and I don't.

Bren said...

I use extra virgin olive oil on everything...

I bought mayo with olive oil the other day, but haven't gotten around to using it...

DreamerKind said...

@Marjorie1231
Shouting out to you, I miss you!
Is all well?

@BoogiewithStew
Miss you, too!

Oh, Hell, I miss everyone that posts during the day, when I am sleeping, but won't hold that against you, nor you, me?

DK

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
That mayo with olive oil is delicious, if you love olive oil, and I do.

I've been looking for an immersion stick blender, fast enough to make homemade mayo, which is divine. Actually, I found one and balked at paying $60 to make mayo.

If anyone can convince me to use the blender for something else, why yes, I will buy it.

Word verf: desid "de sid"
That means in Espanol (right Olivia?) "of Sid" and he was here yesterday because he said he NEVER posts comments anymore, as if he cared about that!

Bren said...

Our friend Johnny Cash, loves his Crown Royal Whiskey....

I'm not a beer drinker either, but went to the Coors Brewery in Colorado, and for some reason the beer tasted so great there, couldn't get enough.lol

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
You love to shop, right?

I went out tonight and did the jewelry blast type of shopping. Some time ago, on Roseland, I vowed to wear every piece of my costume jewelry, or some, every single day.

Well, I've fallen down on that promise and so I've bought some more to make me keep it. There is no inspiration quite as inspiring as new things to wear, and they match my vivid blue eyes and the one crossed eye, too.

Was I bad?

Bren said...

If I can just go to the store and purchase it...then I will not go through all the trouble of making it...

I am a semi-homemade type of person. I'll take the shortcut, everytime.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Coors, back in the day, when we Chicagoans had to drive to Colorado for some bootleg beer, was outstanding in taste.

Now, today in cans-it's still good, and in bottles, better.

Yet, like you, to have it from the source, would be so fresh, as pure water from a glacier, which I had in Norway, so I know the real thing, baby.

DK is green with envy, and not because she is 1/2 Irish, newly discovered, right Birdie?

Bren said...

I love to shop, no one that shops till they drop, is a bad person in my book...

Tomorrow, I plan on shopping for a new bag....

What kind of wallet did you get?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I think that shortcuts work for busy people!

Long, time-consuming tasks, work well for the non-busy and somewhat jaded, "what should I do next to enjoy life fully", types like me!

You are definitely busy and I am so very jaded, my sweets.

Word verf: radism

Back in the year 70, it was "rad" meaning "radical" to add the "ism" to anything you did, and be "that" or at least, talk about it "ism".

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I wanted a Jessica Simpson number I saw, but come on, I can't pull it off without looking like I want to be 35, and I can only currently pass for 45! Lies, lies, even that.

So, I went with Tignanello leather in a warm camel color with paisley fabric inside. It is not what I wanted, cause it is practical. A crazed dreamer is a practical one.

No, I wanted Steve Madden with rhinestones and may go back and get it.

However, there is nothing to compare to Italian leather (Gucci) imo, and nothing equals paying for it yourself. Life is sometimes, hard, in that regard.

I'll get more Chanel perfume instead.

Why on St. Pat's, it was a huge hit with the troops.

"It" being Le Chanel and my Clara Bow lips, which pout now, since they are so small and worn out-apparently.

Bren said...

I just fixed myself a screwdriver, and it so refreshing...

I really wanted a Tequila Sunrise, but took the shortcut...get the picture?

My mom was always saying rad. so funny

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Yes, the picture is loud and clear.

Say, the Crown Royal bottle is so ornate and pretty. Should I keep it as a bud vase or won't I do that with it?

Word verf: veasce

That's a Versace knock-off, ya know?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Cannot believe that you are having a cocktail at this hour! Impressive for a lightweight. Consider you, bowed to.

Bren said...

Worn out lips? so funny...

I think the more money you fork over for a product, the more you appreciate it...

I'm pretty picky about shopping, I don't buy the first thing I see, but by the same token, I never say I will go back for anything...I'll buy it then return it if I really decide I don't want it...I rarely return anything.

word v...essesses---plz not while I'm drinking...

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
Sneak into our convo anytime, honey. I know you are almost finished with work, and Bren has returned from Sherwood Forest without Robin Hood.

What's new?

Word verf: rater "rat er"
I would not rat er out, even if chocolate was administered intravenously.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Good point! I didn't really want the Steve Madden or I would have gotten it. That makes total sense to me at this moment.

Truly, somewhere, there is a very red, very femmy, something out there with my name on it. Think "Harlow or Dietrich", that's similar to my look...

Let's think WFE, something like me and Reese look like in that movie, with satin and beads.

Bren said...

Yeah Gwenie,

Where are you, girley girl?

wor v..truffer---I love truffles!

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
In case my last comment was confusing, I was not in the movie with Reese, just saying.

Oh, this is very exciting..I entered the Parade mag. contest to win my very own WFE showing, in a city near where I live (duh) for 50 or more of my chosen people.

Better win, or Capone may be called forth for some negotiations or shenanigans.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
Too much, too much alike, we are!

I had 3 Belgian truffles only three hours ago, and I would pimp for truffles. Or similar.

Bren said...

You were discussing April Fools last night...I have to tell you about the prank the kids pulled on me.

Matt was about ten and Nicole 12...

It was afterschool, and I went out to get the mail, I was going through it as I sat with my back to the stairs, and I heard Nicole say, no, Matt you will hurt Oliver if you throw him over the stairs..and Matt said cats land on their feet, I will prove it...Nicole said Mom, Matt wants to hurt Oliver(she was always the tattle taler..lol)I said Matt you know better than that...then I saw something white fly down the stairs, and I screamed..I thought it was the cat...when it hit the carpet it was a white pillow..(the cat was white)...the kids started laughing and yelled April Fools...they got me that year.

DreamerKind said...

As usual, I can start complaining for Bren is AWOL and I am talking to empty air, don't you think so, darling lurkers?

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
OK, I can't complain for you were typing a response, but done is done and I did.

That was a funny story and just my kind of kids would pull that kind of prank for Fool's Day.

Usually, I hate surprises but on that day I long for them, and I'll be right behind any prank with another one, for back at ya.

I read on Twitter that Ewan MacGreggor is a huge practical jokester. Not that it is relative to this discussion but I loved him in Moulin Rouge.

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I have a confession...

The new banner pic...

Rob is himself, like no other...

The curtains and chair are eye-catching to me. Danish modern? Can't take my eyes off of them, when I dare to look at the banner and Rob on the chair, in front of the curtains, in that room or set!

Word verf: ancura an cura
No, an cura would not cure me.

Hello Good evening!

Cant stay longer here but i'll try okay? The team has a game today w/ Palestine so i will watch it via twitter it is so frustrating. Maybe i was absent when my teacher discussed that Myanmar (host country) is so strict w/ info dissimination, lol. No live telecast :'(

so what's up ladies?

Bren said...

Loved him in all the Star Wars sequels...

Did you read that interview, where supposedly (I say that because you can't believe anything you read anymore) they asked Rob what he would be doing in 30 years....
...personally, I don't know or care about 30 years down the road...the worst is knowing you will be that much older.

Do you want to know where you will be in 30 years?

DreamerKind said...

@Gwen
We are charmed to have you drop in between sports events!

Twitter is not very good for relaying the game, is it? Guess it couldn't be much different from listening to it on the radio.

Do you really think I am a bad sister based on my stories from yesterday? 8-(

DreamerKind said...

@Bren
I do want to know, for then I can get out of Dodge if I don't like the look of it.

Hal Holbrook is doing great at 90+ but I wouldn't be able to pretend to be anything, when I'm that age, not even myself, most likely.

Personally, if that was the Russian translation you are talking about, of a Rob interview, I thought it was excellent.

Rob said he would be 54 in thiry years, and you know what, that's so true! No one can argue that point, can they?

Such a relief for him and us, in that regard.

Numbers do lie, but not when many are keeping them accurate for you, then you can't lie, and they don't.

Bren said...

That is so funny about the furniture and the curtains...you are crazy...lol
