Rob and Kristen- I Only Have Eyes For You

Oh My!
What a shocker!
Robert ended up in London!
Excuse me for bringing up Grandma Rose again...
But she said to me the other day...
"Rosie... when is that boy going to go home?"
Exactly.
Robert going back to London isn't any great surprise.
It was inevitable, wasn't it?
Still not sure how Rob going to London
somehow equates to him not wanting to be with Kristen.

Oh right.
Robert never went to see Kristen in NOLA
Because there wasn't a clear picture...
Gotcha.
Well...
Rob didn't magically appear in London, either.
He managed to get from New Orleans to London
without a picture being taken, too...
and lo and behold...
There he be.
Sometimes it works out that way.
Sometimes Robert manages not to get his picture taken.
And he still exists...

And hey...
If you want to believe that Robert didn't get to NOLA
Go for it.
But what happens if(when) Kristen turns up in London?
Then what?
Will you pull out the same tired excuses?
Don't answer that.
I already know you will.

I adore Kristen Stewart.
I do.
I make no excuses.
"Speak" was on TV last night.
I watched it.
Again.
Kristen is so young in that movie...
but she was awesome.
I love it.
I even loved that Michael Oregano was in it.
Because I know I kinda poke fun at him...
but he was kinda cute in the movie.
I love watching Kristen outside of Twilight.
I love Bella...
But I love seeing her in other roles.

And one more thing...
There was a lot of twitter drama about Kristen...
Someone was making fun of her...
People were defending her...
As usual with online drama
it was blown out of proportion.
Look...
You don't have to like Kristen Stewart.
I don't give a shit one way or another if you do or not.
But the things that were said about her...
The names she was called...
just because she wore the Beastie Boys t-shirt?
No one deserves that.
You don't like her? Ignore her.
It has to be easier than the constant snarling and snapping at her
that you do day in and day out...
And for God's sake...
Stop pretending to be her fan
pretending to like her...
and then turn around and call her horrific names.
It's SO transparent. Really.
Good Fucking Grief.
Get over it.

So...
I leave with one of my favorite pictures from Montreal.
The intimate proximity.
The smile on his face.
No one is faking that.
No one is being forced to react that way.
No one isn't doing exactly what they want to do...
with who they want to do it with.

Will Kristen turn up in London?
Of course I hope she does...
Kristen can relax there...
She can breathe there.
And she can be with Robert.
Breathing.
Relaxing.
Together.
Because no matter what you say...
Robert and Kristen are always better
when they are together.

We shall see.

This post is brought to you by the letter *E*

E for "I only have EYES for You"
The song that comes to mind whenever
I see that picture from Montreal...

Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
'Cause I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
'Cause I only have eyes for you.

I don't know if we're in a garden
Or on a crowded avenue
You are here, so am I
Maybe millions of people go by
But they all disappear from view
And I only have eyes for you
I don't know if we're in a garden
Or on a crowded avenue
You are here, so am I
Maybe millions of people go by
But they all disappear from view
And I only have eyes for you.

Bye for now

Yes, that movie had incredible performers, dance scenes, songs, lines, and such magic that even the Great Depression in America at that time, could be vanquished, for a couple of hours.

The power of the imagination and music, unbeatable.

And the power of Love, unstoppable.

Te, he, I am playing Fred right now, here in my dining room but I keep messing up the steps (not so good on the rollerskates myself).

Yes SueBee...made with Buttermilk...they ONLY way to make GREAT southern biscuits!!

My mouth is watering, so tell me, do you both use real butter and such for those buttermilk biscuits?

Would you post a recipe or is that asking too much?

Just kidding..I would NEVER hit you in the conk...NEVER..YOu know how much I swoon you..

I just used that b/c Smitty taught it to me the other night, while we were all discussing the difference between Americans and Britians and I have been dying to use it...SOrry and I so HEART YOU!!

If we're taking parts of Kristen, can I please have her mouth? My lips are too thin.

I don't use butter during preparation..I use:

Self Rising Flour
Buttermilk
Crisco Shortening

But I don't know how much of each item I use...Sorry, I just go by the texture..

Oh--wait a second. I owe you a Syd story. Since our young "fan" brought up the name I'll tell you where it came from because it is a classic. This happened way before I was dating Gruff or even had met them. They were in some club and this girl walked in who was really hot. Syd fell in love on the spot and so they sort of followed her a bit. They overheard her telling someone she was on a blind date and was supposed to meet "Syd" so, of course, Syd was born. He then approached her and spent the whole night with her and dated her for about 3 months the whole time pretending to be "Syd". She would call his house (at this time he was still with his parents) and lied and said it was his nickname and his parents (who are adorable) went along with it all thinking it was just good fun and not the horrible dishonest foundation of their relationship.

Okay at this point usually Syd breaks into the story to say that it was all great except that when they were in bed together and she would call out his name, he would lose his huh concentration..not because he felt guilty but because he would always be surprised to hear her yelling out someone else's name and he would be like, looking around trying to figure out who the hell she was talking to!

Eventually I guess whoever arranged the meeting figured out that she was not dating the real Syd and the girl bailed but yea, that's how the whole Syd thing started.

What a player huh? This was in his wild days--he's much more ...

Okay I can't lie--he would probably do it again in a heartbeat.

Love ya Syd!

Smitty (and I owed you that for the whole -favorite body part thing last night)

Sorry.. had to braid the kiddo's hair.

Southern biscuits.. real butter.. Of course! And I don't know the recipe off the top of my head to type it out. Grandma taught that "oh, about that much" technique of biscuit making.

I can do the gravy too.. for when you want biscuits and gravy. My friend keeps trying to remind me of what's it's made with, but I keep telling her to hush. As long as I don't think about it, I'm okay with eating it. Calories don't count.

Dear Rose,
Thank you for always being the voice of reason.
Agree with all of you wise words.
Yes, the Montreal pic of Rob and Kristen is beautiful.

Happy "Auntie" Celebration for LJ.. Hooray!

Elaine, I will have you and your friend in my thoughts and prayers.

Tracy, put a little ladybug or tiny dragonfly on the little crab's back if you haven't made one for Olivia yet.

*STANDING UP AND APPLAUDING FOR THE COMMENTS BY A FRIEND/SMITTY* at 2:15
Hear! Hear! My thoughts but you expressed them so much more powerfully and passionately.
Hugs to you. You are awesome.

SueBee, here is a piece of 70% dark, wonderful chocolate. You deserve the best! HC/Survivor is a gift that just keeps on giving. Bravo!
Oh, do you also have the kind in the squeeze teddy with cinnamon in it? I love that on warm PB toast.

Dear Maria,
You are such an important member of Roseland. Please try to see that this is a wonderful place that so many of us come to after a hard day at work, school, or being at home. It is a safe place, where we are not worried about being goofy, silly, and just plain naughty at times. It is all a joke. Sometimes Louisa is one of the best jokesters. It is kind of like watching avant garde theatre....it is all a mirage and confusing, but most often is over our heads and is attended for the experience. We are all here for the fun experience and making great connections across the world with people that enjoy Rose's beautiful blog and the extra fun of visiting through the blog comments. Rose is so very kind to allow this and we need to respect the fact that she herself has told us so many times that her friends have enjoyed visiting here and love teasing her and us. I won't even get to the wooing and serenading and the fact that I do feel left out...but, that is a whole other topic that I would never get into. : )
Let it be sweet Maria. It is a great way to have fun, chill, and relax a bit without hurting anyone.
Life is good! Let it be!

Damn you guys type fast!

Smitty, great story! That would sure be a distraction hearing someone else's name.

Hugs to all,
Olivia (TX.)

When did I ever say that Rob fans weren't bad? Of course I recognise Kristen gets hate. Its kinda hard not to see it and I'm totally against it. And yes I actually support both R/K, believe it or not if you want to.

Did I say that Rob fans should only respect Kristen fans once they only respect Kristen? No. I don't think like that. I know that the hate towards Kristen is worse.

But you're saying because of that Rob hate should be ignored and its ok? Does hate justify hate?

Yes I do accept that some of my fellow Rob fans are nutcases but not all of them. I'm friends with plenty of Rob fans who support Kristen as well. I think you fail to accept that not everyone loves Rob and will hate him. Not saying that its worse than Kristen hate. Sigh, I don't wanna cause a fight and I'm not saying this to cause drama. I recognise theres hate on both sides and I respect both Rob and Kristen. Thats just my reply to your post to me.

Rose,

I would hereby formally request that you block Smitty from the board. She is nothing but a troublemaker and gossip hound.

AND, you know how it is ladies...you and your mate have some wild adventures and then one of you gets a girlfriend. So, the only loyal thing to do, when the wild times are discussed, is to protect your friend's reputation by agreeing that every crazy wild thing happened to you so that your mate's girlfriend can go on thinking he was a sainted virgin until he met her.

Chew on that Smitty. Think of all the stories you know about us and doesn't it seem odd that I am ALWAYS the one who did the crazy stunts?? Now I will never disclose which were me and which were him but you might not be quite so jovial about sharing and laughing about these tales if, in fact, your beloved was actually the one doing the act.

Anonymous said...

Oh--and can I please have some biscuits--they sound delicious!

Sue are you propositioning me? Should I put my wooing hat on?

Pal said...

LJ,

A biscuit here is not a cookie. It's a doughy, not sweet accompaniment served with honey or sometimes gravy. For breakfast you could have biscuits with a sausage gravy.

SueBee said...

@LJ

It's a white, creamy, sausage gravy. Very yummy.

Pal said...

Syd,

No more with the woo word. Maybe we should use dazzle instead, or is that only permissible for Gruff?

Anonymous said...

O-kay Syd are you taking lessons in delusional behavior from our friend Maria? Dude--your MOM told me that story first!! I really doubt Gruff would ask your parents to lie for him. No way.

And, he's told me some good stories about himself also so no, I don't think (and I wouldn't want) him to be a "sainted virgin" but dude, you know that one was YOU!

Nice try though but come up with another plan because I am not drinking the kool-aid on that one.

Biscuits? Yum!

And um, dude, aren't you on a fucking date right now?? What the hell buddy?

SueBee said...

@manjen

What? Um, honey bottles? Spotted dick? Or clotted cream?

LOL

Pal said...

Suebee and manjen,

I think spotted dick is some kind of pudding with fruit in it. But it does sound like a badly diseased manroot.

Anonymous said...

Spotted dick?!

I've seen that at the grocery store here, but I've never gotten it. I should.. just to watch the cashier's reaction.. take it up there and ask if they have striped, as I am not a big fan of spots.

Melinda said...

Gruff/Syd- I have a question for you. I love the theater. Try to get to NY when I can to see some shows when I can.

My favorite bar none is "Starlight Express" which I saw when in England.

Have either of you seen it? Just wondering.

LJ said...

Clotted cream is amazing...it's like really really thick buttery cream you could stand a spoon up in.

If you just have a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream and tea...its called a cream tea.

If you had an afternoon or 'high' tea, you would have a selection of sandwiches, followed by a cake stand full of scones, cakes and pastries to choose from and drink tea.....

Or even better, you could go to a really nice hotel and have a champagne afternoon tea, I had that once at Claridges in London and it was soooo good!

:-)

Karen said...

Katy, she does have the most beautiful eyes. She's definitely a beautiful girl with or without make up. She's so modest and self-conscious, I wonder the same thing.

So clotted cream is like butter or creamier? I'm not trying to be obtuse...I'm just really interested.

High tea sounds wonderful!

Anonymous said...

Okay...so here is the story. At least the abbreviated version.

Last night after a little too much to drink my Hubby's best friend and I thought it would be fun to see who could catch the most fiddler crabs on the beach. (don't ask why...I really don't know) I can't stand to let anyone get the best of me so...I spent over a hour running around with my bucket and bottle of wine. (you were almost right Tracy) After is was all said and done...I WAS VICTORIOUS!! I had 36 and he only had a measly 23. We were sitting around on my porch and I for some reason had the bright idea to paint their claws with my fingernail polish. (once again...don't ask why because I don't know.)

Well, as I was sitting there painting their claws (while my husband held them with kitchen tongs) Electric Rose...I had the bright idea to put names on them with a paint pen. As there were only seven of us left standing at this point I then used a paint pen (neon green and hot pink) to write our names on them.

Sorry...Penny Lane I had to abbreviate yours as it would not fit. Same for you Wildhart...you are 007! So...look for your fiddler everyone. Sadly, I did put Smitty, Syd, and Gruff...had I only known... ;'(

Anonymous said...

And with all due respect to whatever Brit (LJ I believe( is answering the food questions, you left out one crucial fact: Tea, especially high tea at stuffy places is definitely for women only. They serve you little bity food on little bity plates and it is a SLOW process with much boring conversation. Thankfully, my mum dragged me to a few when I was about 10 in an effort to give me some culture. By the time I was 13 or so, she gave up on the whole effort and realized I was never going to be more than a buffoon.

Melinda, I seriously recommend Claridges...it's gorgeous.

SueBee coddled eggs are really lightly cooked eggs. A bit like partially cooked poached eggs, but where you cook poached eggs in boiling water...coddled eggs are cooked in water that is warm but not boiling.

You can either cook them in their shell or use a special egg coddler!

Talk, Set it up for Suzie!
"I listened to a million voices"

And they said...
"Don't let me down" they said
"Don't let me down" they said
"Don't let me down again"
No no...

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
"I'm yours, tonight!"
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
"I'm yours, tonight!"

Oh, time has leering on
So take another breath
And taste this one more time again

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
"I'm yours, tonight!",
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
"I'm yours, tonight!",
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
"I'm yours, tonight!"

Will someone explain what spotted dick is and why anyone would ever eat something with that name?

Anonymous said...

Oh! LJ before I forget. I'm totally going to go get the stuff to crochet that blankie tomorrow. :) I've got to go out and get some stuff for another one I'm working on anyway.

Any color preferences? Blue? or something else?

Anonymous said...

Oh Leigh I am so flattered! I misread and thought you did not give me a crab.

And I adore you for showing my Rose such special attention. She deserves a bucketful of them--I like the idea of them running all over the beach, spreading love and sunshine everywhere.

Well done Leigh!

Syd

LJ said...

Spotted dick is a steamed pudding which has currants in, hence the spotted (god knows why its called dick tho! haaaaaa)

Anonymous said...

Ask Syd about spotted dick...he should know!

Anonymous said...

Syd,

Tell us about spotted dick...

Pal said...

Syd,

If it gets too personal you don't have to tell us about the spotted you know.

LJ said...

Oh Tracy you are so clever!! blue sounds perfect. I wish I were so talented....and despite my recent posts I can't cook either.

Totally talentless I'm afraid ;-)

SueBee

You got woo!

See how well I'm doing with the sharing today. (just the woo, ladies.. nothing more)

Anonymous said...

Keep it up Gruff keep it up!

I believe the "dick" part of the name comes from the German word "dicht" which means thick. So it is a very thick pudding...

get your mind out of the gutters ladies!

Tracy- wow someone from the south that doesn't like sweet tea...to each her own.

LJ- since Syd and Gruff never answered my question have you ever seen "Starlight Express"? Bar none it is my favorite play I have ever seen.

LJ said...

C'mon Syd, tell me about your spotted dick experience?

Pal said...

I'm being serious, I'm not in the gutter with that question.

Anonymous said...

LJ

I will message you when it is finished :)

Melinda said...

I'm sorry but how can your mind not go into the gutter after that statement...

LJ said...

Melinda, no I have never seen Starlight Express I'm afraid.

Nor have I ever eaten spotted dick....although I wouldn't rule the prospect out ;-D

SueBee said...

@Syd

Nothing says woo like a song about voices in your head! Honestly though, that rocks. I smiled the entire time I read it.

If you're going to listen to a voice in your head, make sure it answers to my name.

(Set it up for Suzie)

I have to find this song now.

Thank you for the shout out. :o)

Perhaps it's because I'm not a southerner by birth.. We never had it, so I just never developed a taste for it.

And it's useless to ask me to get my mind out of the gutter. It took a trip in earlier tonight, and it's just stayed there since. I think it's enjoying the other minds that are in the gutter with it too much.

Melinda said...

Tracy-

Oh my mind has been there all day. I was reading a fan fic that let's just left little to the imagination.

Anonymous said...

@ Melinda

I was told about fanfic but have never read it..which one is your favorite?

Julie M said...

I can read that the fun continues here...All of you make my day. As for our beloved Rob and Kristen.. I do believe, as many of you. that they do not give a rat's ass as to what some of these crazy fans may be implying. I thought of a few things today that may make some laugh. So the big contoversy is Kristen was wearing Rob's tee shirt
that said "GOMD" horrors right...sounds like to me see could be staking out her territory (you know claiming a bit of ownership of something)(ha,ha)) as if she has to do that. Just a thought. Can't wait until they reconnect.. Will be soon I am sure. I here London is beautiful this time of year

Melinda said...

Manjen-

I only read E/B fan fics. I know others who read R/K real life fic and that just creeps me out.

Best ones:

Emancipation Proclamation
The Guardian
Misapprehension of Bella Swan
This is not my life
The Workshop

The one I am currently reading is Stranger than Fiction- it's great so far. It is taken from what happened when Edward left Bella in New Moon and she went on with her life. Of course they meet back up 6 yrs later but Bella is now a woman not a girl so she is a lot different.

Caroline said...

Hello everyone!
This is such a great place. Where else would you talk about delicious English cuisine, Fred and Ginger, crabs, adorable new nephews, a coveted STFU hoodie and dicks that are spotted (or striped in Tracy's case)? Rose, thank you for giving us such a wonderful safe haven to support Rob and Kristen and share a few laughs.

Syd,
I heard the same thing on a cooking show about the "dick" in spotted dick coming from the German word for thick. A budding rapper and a culinary expert? I must say you are quite the Renaissance Man.

Melinda said...

Oh and manjen- no fade to black in this story. More like scenes from True Blood I'm thinking.

Anonymous said...

@ Melinda

I'll have to check those out.

Anonymous said...

Caroline,

Thank you for the nice words. I am being abused by most of the regulars here this evening so I greatly appreciate your kindness and sweetness. Oh my...I know EXACTLY how to woo you if you would ever allow me.

Anonymous said...

What is R/K real life fanfiction??

Anonymous said...

Why won't these damn people at my house leave me alone!! Can't they see I'm BUSY!! LOL!!

SueBee, of course you did! Manjen and Melinda too...although Melinda was tricky ;)

So, what have I missed...I need a cliff note version please!

Hey Smitty--call me on a phone that works real quick. I need to talk to you about something.

Smitty,

I did have a chance to read your comment. I must say...LOVE IT!! I don't understand some people. Life is too short for all the shit! Well said ;)

On another note I wish I would have seen that about the auto correct before I wrote Smitty on your crab because I SO would have written Smutty ;) LOL!!

I am happy to let you all know that we have found our Emilia. She is currently a little shaken up because of the events of the past days but is now safely in the care of very capable people.
I am trying very hard to get her to come home with me for a few days as she wishes but it is very difficult because of all the fucking bureaucracy. Thank you all for showing you care, you don't know how much it means to me.
It is incredible how my mood has changed in the past few hours. I am actually able to breathe and relax.

Thanks for the crab Leigh.

Okay wait, so I know people write fanfiction and come up with different endings for Harry Potter and Twilight...you are saying people do this for real people too. Like they write fictional stories about Kristen and Robert?

Where are these things? I can google them probably.

Sick twisted fuckers!

Ahem.....Syd, I have tried my best to woo you on many an occasion...but never had so much as a *hello*...*wave*...or anything......this makes me sad.

:o(

Yet one compliment on being a renaissance man and you are offering to 'woo' like its going out of fashion....

Is it because I am a fellow Brit? I can do an American accent if it would work for 'y'all'

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

SueBee and Manjen spent a LONG time talking to be about sharing, and not locking people up anymore.. and I'm trying.. I REALLY REALLY am trying... but I see the shed, and ideas are forming.

And oh my gosh.. I'm watching Talladega Nights again.. Shake and Bake! SHAKE and BAKE! w00t! (they're both verbs!)

Smitty-

I believe Penny answered your question. Thus you see why it creeps me out.

As for the E/B fan fic...Penny is right. Def. more rated R than PG-13 as SM wrote it.

Sometimes I do think that the authors put some R/K mannerisms into play as I guess since they are a visual when writing. So far it hasn't bothered me too much.

If I think they are being disrespectful to R/K I won't read it.

I ordered my STFU t-shirt today. I didn't get the hoodie because it's so damn hot down here that I figured I would get more use out of the shirt. I can't wait...I'm going to wear it to my Mother-in-laws house and HOPE she asks me what it means ;)

So I guess that makes you a real friend :)

Hi Leigh *waves back*

Thank you for the welcome. I live on the Gulf Coast and I promise that if I see the Rose, Smitty or Gruff crabs to grant them amnesty from my crab pot and provide them safe passage. However, I might just have to keep the Syd crab from myself. *blushes* I'm a little smitten with his namesake. Also Syd the Crab might just be worth something one day, when our very own Notorious B.R.I.T. makes it big on the rap scene.

No it's not pronounced like Ms Minnelli, it's pronounced Leeza...like Lisa but with a Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Tracy, aww thanks for promising to not give me the shed treatment!.....although as I am one of the few here with no husband I think I deserve an extra special bit of wooing if anything....haaaaaaaaaaaaa

They have another one that says "My waitress gave me crabs"

They're so completely inappropriate, but hilarious.

I need to find the one from Hooters that says "Objects are as large as they appear"

Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined.

;)

Caroline said...

Smitty,

Your post earlier today was perfect. It should be chiseled on to some stone tablets to commemorate it's epicness. Is Gruff good with a chisel and stone? If he has some spare time, maybe he could get to work of the Smutty, oops I mean the "Smitty Commandments". This fandom could really use a dose of your common sense.

Also just a word of advice, real person fan fiction is a bit like the infamous Area 51. Sane people might venture in out of curiosity, but in the end they all come out running for their lives, covered in slime and trying to gouge their eyes out.

Melinda said...

Tracy-
