You know, I went back a few posts looking to see if someone had posted before and I noticed that a lot of the posters have dropped off lately. Do you suppose they are all lurking or what? There are a lot of names that used to show up regularly and now don't. I haven't been commenting and reading posts here tht long so am I imagining this?

***** response**** I used to come daily and there never were anything close to 200 post, usually much less. The core group that was here when I started eventually stopped posting. Then they return infrequently. I think people realize that if they leave and peruse other things, this board will still be doing the same thing and when that itch needs a scratch they come back.
Also, lately there seems to be a group having conversations completely unrelated to the topic at hand. That only bothers me for one reason. If I want to read all the comments about the topic ay hand, it gets annoying when so many comments are between a small group and not related to Rose's post. There are other ways to have those conversations.
Been a busy week, working, canning, fixing a broken appliance, missed getting on here all week. Gotta be at work in the morning also, it never ends

Baileys Brownies
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour (about 4 1/2 ounces)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
heaping 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup (4 Tablespoons) butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup Baileys Irish Cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cooking spray
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch pan with cooking or baking spray.
Measure flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
Beat 2 eggs in a small bowl. In a saucepan set over low heat, melt butter and chocolate chips slowly, stirring frequently. When completely melted, remove chocolate mixture from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes.
Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop out some of the chocolate mixture and slowly pour it into the eggs, beating constantly to temper the eggs. Stir the egg mixture into chocolate mixture. Add sugar, vanilla, and Baileys. Stir over low heat for 2-3 minutes or until sugar has dissolved.
Fold the chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350°F for about 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
This is the recipe I'm going to try. Sprinkle those babies with a little powdered sugar. OHMEGEE.. can't wait.

Hello Dolly bars are also known as seven layer bars.
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 can (15 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Preparation:
Melt the butter; mix in graham cracker crumbs. Pat crumb mixture in a 9-x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients over the crumbs in order given, in layers. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over all. Do NOT stir. Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
I go lightly on the coconut and walnuts. And I usually add an extra layer of chocolate chips on the butterscotch.
Guess I need to get off here, got work in the morning, still keyed up though. Just out in my garage listening to the rain(kinda cool)

I came late to the comment about the conversations of late getting off topic..and I just want to say a few words as to why I come here.
This year has been hard for me and my husband...my father-in-law, who was my best friend in the world, died in a house fire in February, my dad had to go on dialysis and is in congestive heart failure, and my 10year old niece has bone cancer and had the lower part of her leg amputated, all in the last few months. This last weekend she asked my Dad if he died first if he would hide behind the moon and wait for her because she didn't want to go to heaven alone and told him she would do the same for him.
Now I didn't say all of that to make people feel sorry for me, I said it to make this point: This blog, and the wonderful people who post here are sometimes the only thing in this world that make me smile. It means a lot to me, and I hope that things do not change because of the what has happened here today. I love this place and I want to say thank you to everyone, especially Rose for giving me and others a place to just relax and forget the horrors of real life for a while, and giving us a chance to remember the fun parts of life. God Bless.
PS. I even appreciate Honey because with her I get to release my built up aggression and hostility

Dear Diary,
Someone get me off of this damn boat! I want to go home. Sunday night is applesauce night at the hosp....um...center, and I just know I'm going to miss it.
That's not even the worst part of it, Diary. Mickey Mouse, and now Goofy too, are both chasing me everywhere. Don't they know that I don't have sex with cartoons????--well, not anymore but SpongeBob was asking for it.
Anyway, we've ported in London and it's just a disaster. Some whack job who calls herself Hershey Smooches has boarded the ship. She is sporting a black eye and carrying an Edward doll. What kind of sane person--never mind!
So this Smooches chick won't shut up about Rob being too good for Kristen. She thinks he is her soul mate. She can have him. Good luck prying him away from Kristen! (Trust me, I tried!)
Anyway, she's not that bright. She showed me a paper and called it a "Training Order." I said, "No, you idiot, that's a RESTRAINING Order!" I should know!
Get this. She's not even allowed to be on the same continent with Rob!

She wouldn't have even been talking to me since we're on opposite sides of the "robsten" fence, but we had an extreme emergency.
Her Edward Doll was missing--and come to think of it--Bella had been pretty quiet lately. So, I got worried.
We searched all over the ship and finally found them lounging poolside in a deck chair together!
It made my blood run cold!
He had his hand on her shoulder and was cradling her arm. (The one I had to staple back on)
He looked mad at me--weird.
That's not even the strangest part. Just where in the hell do toys get swimsuits on a boat?
Something else-that fucker really does sparkle in the sunlight! Who knew?
So, Smoochy and I went to collect our runaway dolls when this random girl leaped in front of us, took their picture, and screamed, "HA! I KNEW Rob and Kristen were on this ship! I can't wait to tweet this!"
Smoochy and I agree. Some people are just crazy.
I have to go now. Bella needs a bath to get all of that sparkly stuff off of her. YUCK! Really.

Holy Hell, WTF happened here yesterday and last night. Reading threw comments I am a bit taken back. People do need to take heed that in this internet world they have to be SO careful with any info they post etc.. Crazy people like Honey and now Maria can twist any thing to make drama.
The best thing about a blog though is the IP address is always known to the owner plus there is a button called BLOCK. Maybe Rose needs to use that on a few people for real.

Your niece is amazing...in my experience, people like her and your dad are blessed with a peace that we can't understand, but that gives them incredible strength. Also Kami, my heart goes out to you. My dad was in renal failure for a long time and spent years on dialysis, its a horrible thing and there was a time we nearly lost him. He had a transplant a couple of years ago and apart from a couple of setbacks is now doing great so send you big love and *hugs* for the tough year you have had.

We did breakfast really early this morning at ihop...it was really good. She won't be staying with me for the 2 weeks I was hoping for. She's upset about it and so am I but we were able to get her into a place that I know she will benefit from greatly so she understands. It's about an hour and a half from were I live, I promised to go see her every week in the beginning and maybe she can come stay during some weekends with me once she's allowed.

I understand that this young girl got carried away. And I'll be honest and admit it upset me a great deal. Mostly because we begged and pleaded and begged some more for her to drop it because none of us believed that celebs were hanging out here with us.
I can sympathize with the fact that she got a little too invested in it, but her choices weren't the best. I had the hardest time with her suggesting that we could all be famous because of this.
I think what happened was pretty much the equivalent of a pack of momma bears protecting their cubs and space.
Emotions were raw, and things got said by everyone involved. If Maria wants to come back, I am not against that. I just want her to be able to be here peacefully and not continue to spread rumors that were already proven false.
Everything's cool. Everyone's calmed down. Things are returning to normal. I, of course, admitted to many things during our night out last night.. as is the usual case. It probably won't be the last time. ;)
Glad you liked the Baileys brownies recipe. Let me know how they turn out and if you like them.

I think its really kind of you that you can be so forgiving toward a bothersome stranger. I guess I'm just a cynical bitch because I still question whether she is actually a young girl. We all know how easy it is to fabricate a certain persona on here. But I guess in the long run, it just makes everyone aware that there are lurkers that might have an agenda.

Tracy--I ordered the ingrediants but they sent milk chocolate chips not semi-sweet. That should still be ok right? I've done a coue things with alcohol before and I know they can be tricky. Made a rum cake once and it was good but we had to eat it with a spoon-- like thick pudding. I hope it works-thanks again.

I don't think you meant any harm in talking to your friends about what you thought was going on at Rose's blog. Even if you had no intention to go to a gossip site and tell them, you do not have control over others who could.
Sadly what happened is making people feel that they can't just be themselves here anymore.
I hope you do come back and contribute something to Rose's blog again but if you do please remember that you need to be respectful of people's privacy and that not everything is what you might imagine it is.

I'm totally with you on the yard sale thing. People in my neighborhood have them constantly all summer. I can always tell there's one in the vicinity because, I'm sorry if I offend anyone, the absolutely skankiest looking people come and drive these old cars, with windows broken and rust dropping at every turn of the wheels.

The milk chocolate should be fine I imagine. They've got more sugar in them than semi sweet, which means they'll scorch easier, so just be careful when you're melting the chocolate.
The brownies should be fine, may make the brownies slightly sweeter though..

I agree about the yard sales, and I don't think that makes you a snob, Penny. In our neighborhood, we have HOA rules that say that there can only be two garage/yard sales per year and it is a community event. Each family keeps the money for what they sell, however the HOA decides when and where the sale is. Works out rather nicely. No cars parked paritally on my lawn and the road, no one walking across my lawn..I love the concept

Well well well...I see my little sister has arrived and has been baking also! How lovely. It was my pleasure to allow you the use of my account while you are incapacitated but I believe I should formally introduce you to the group. This is my sister Petunia Augustus but we call her Porky for short. She adores that nickname which derives from the fact that she often hogs the last of any bottle of wine that we enjoy but also because, well, to be perfectly honest, she is a bit on the chunky side, especially in her caboose area. Has a bit of junk in the trunk as they say. We all adore her but, truth be told, she probably ate all the brownies herself. We've tried to suggest diets but she just eats and eats. I heard an entire apple pie disappeared recently and she is the prime suspect.
So Porky, welcome and please try to avoid any more sweets today love. Mum and Dad are already trying to figure out how to widen the doorways to the house so that you stop getting stuck everyday.
